Had an early dinner there last night, with some friends. I was thrilled to find that they have some entrees made with organic food. Paid $17 for the Thai salad bowl, greens with quinoa, which was basically a bowl of greens with a few grains of quinoa sprinkled on it, and 3 or 4 miniature carrots (not the abberrant tiny stubby carrots). I was hungry again by 8:00 p.m. It was an expensive bowl of greens. A friend ordered the "best burger" for $22 and said it was just an average burger. Couple other friends really liked their choices: the power bowl and the Parakeet bowl. I found it somewhat dismaying that the cashier did not know the meaning of several of the words on the menu that I did not understand. You would think they might take the time to learn these things, right? Words like " labneh", and "leche de tigre". Other than that, he was quite charming. The restaurant is light and airy and very pleasant to be in. I would eat there again, but not for anyone's birthday as it turns out that management does not offer that sweet service that most every restaurant does of surprising the birthday guest with several of the staff coming out with a small pastry with a candle in it and singing Happy Birthday. read more

The matcha is burnt, they should be whisking it in cool/luke warm water, not boiling hot which it makes it bitter and chalky. It's a bummer to have a matcha latte one day that tastes and another that tastes terrible. Also, the new loyalty program does not allow you to get points for mobile orders. read more

I've been to the little Italy location but came here on Christmas Day since it was open. We ordered chai latte, Belgium waffle, eggs Benedicts, warm quinoa salad. I love how they have taken regular dish with healthier twists. I believe they also change menu seasonally. The waffle had good amount of fresh fruits and it was light and not overly sweet. It's not as dense as real Belgium waffles but i enjoyed it. The quinoa salad ( more like bowl) was really good and I'm going to try to recreate it at home. It had very good amount of vegetables like bok Choi, broccoli, snow peas and mushroom. The seasoning was perfect. My husband had eggs Benedict's and at first I was worried it would taste too "healthy" for him since the sauce was green but it didn't taste like vegetable. The eggs were also cooked perfectly. The decor is very cute but NOT overly done like it would make male customers uncomfortable. It's dog friendly too. It's a great addition to this area. read more

I love the Parakeet Cafe's menu! I'm not vegan, paleo or gf, but their menu makes healthy food look divine! I came for breakfast and was thrilled to find open outdoor tables. I really wanted a wonderful-sounding waffle concoction, but the healthy me persevered and I had the Healthy Breakfast Bowl -- it was wonderful, and I left overful. I wish that I could give this place zero stars unfortunately, yelp does not give us that option. I am writing this as I am standing in the restaurant, and the little blonde girl behind the register is telling the other employee to "tell us to fuck off". My friend and I were sitting at the table, unaware that the cafe closed when the little brunette employee came up to us and asked us to leave because she needed to put the chairs away. We said that we would still like to order some tea to go and she snarled at us and said that she already closed the register and then we said OK can we at least use the bathroom and she said that's fine so we go inside and the other blonde girl behind the register yells at us that "we're closed". After I used the bathroom, I was waiting for my friend to finish using the bathroom as well and the entire staff was basically yelling at me that they're were closed! We were paying customers trying to have a nice meal, we didn't hover in the restaurant for hours we just wanted to use the bathroom for a quick minute not get yelled at by a buncha angry teenage girls. Maybe, if they ran the food out to us in a timely manner instead of having another customer come and tell us that our food was ready we would've been out quicker too! My friend and I have been repeat customers at this location many times and were so disappointed and shocked at how rude and disrespectful the staff was. read more

I complained to the owner about how long it was taking, he didn't care. I then asked for a refund since I had now been in there 15 minutes and it still wasn't even close to being ready.
