My gf and I drive to LA for the weekend looking for a new home. We needed a nice place to meet my brother for breakfast before taking tours. He lives in the Valley and we were staying in the South Bay so we picked this location as a midpoint. Parking in this neighborhood on a Saturday morning requires an eagle eye or paying for one of the lots near the Town Center. The food was solid. Parakeet Cafe isn't priced for value so plan to spend $30/ person for an entree and a drink. Great location for a weekend brunch or lunch. There were other customer with their dogs inside the cafe while seated. Not my favorite but we were in Brentwood. read more

We stopped for lunch in this inviting decorated restaurant. Love their color scheme. For starters, I ordered the Guacamole Toast with a rainbow of colored tomatoes. The mint and other fresh herbs complimented the toast perfectly. The overnight Oat Bowl with fresh fruits was delicious. Staff is most accommodating and friendly. This place looks deceiving, at first glance it seems like a bakery cafe, but a look at their menu changes all of that. Great selection of salads, sandwiches, and hamburgers. The service was amazing and the food was excellent. Location is hidden, but definitely worth the hunt. read more

I went to Parakeet Cafe and really enjoyed it! I'm familiar with Parakeet Cafe as I'm from San Diego and this location really exceeded my expectations. The staff is beyond friendly and checked in with us frequently to see if we needed anything. I ordered the salmon and eggs and a smoothie and was with multiple people who also all really enjoyed their food. I spilled my smoothie on most of my food and they immediately gave me complimentary new toast that came with my dish. They have a ton of gluten free options as well! They have an inside and outside space to sit and enjoy your food. They are dog friendly too! I will definitely be back due to the staff!! I didn't catch everyone's names, but everyone working today's shift was AMAZING and truly deserves all the recognition for the success of this location. read more

I happened to be visiting the area and saw this cute little cafe, so I decided to check it out and grab a snack. I love the interior of this place! They had a lot of interesting baked goods, and I went for the Banana Oat Muffin w/ maple glaze. The cashier was super friendly and asked if I would like it to be warmed up and I said yes. And he told me I could just have a seat while he brought it out for me. The warmed up muffin was so delicious and I absolutely love the crumbly top! It was probably the best I've ever had so far. I've been here once to dine in and once for takeout. Dine in we got the charcoal waffle which was decent but the add of granola on it isn't great and we also had the chilaquiles which was ok except the tortilla chips didn't have a great flavor and crunch so that took away from it. For takeout I got the healthy breakfast bowl which is oatmeal, quinoa and fruit. The order isn't very large and tbh these ingredients are pretty cheap so I expected more fruit and/or a larger size for $16+ before tip. Really it should be 1/2 the price. The inside is cute and they've got outdoor seating which is nice but likely won't be back here given both experiences were lackluster. read more

We visited for the first time today and it was a great experience. The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about their products. We were looking for a couple types of tea that they didn't have but the barista was quick with recommendations. We ended up drinking tea that tasted far better than what we had expected! We shared the breakfast burrito and it was very tasty! The same barista who helped us earlier said to get it with chicken sausage next time because it's even better... needless to say, we're totally doing that! Great ambiance, great to-go cups (sounds silly but they're cute and don't leak), clean restroom, easy parking. What more could you ask for? Thank you! read more

Last Thursday my friend and I were looking for a different option for our weekly lunch. She lives in Brentwood and I live in Silver Lake. We have been friends for decades, and truly cherish our time together on Thursdays. We walked by Parakeet and were drawn by the sign and the ambiance. As we walked in we were warmly welcomed by Haley. He was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the menu, which made our selection easy. We had the squash soup, and chicken noodle soup, and shared the smoked salmon toast. The food was delicious! We paired the meal with iced and hibiscus tea. read more

Brand spanking new! Just opened for biz. It's day two and we just ordered an assortment of breakfast items to try out. At first glance I loved the variety of dishes and drinks on the menu. At first bite, I enjoyed everything but nothing really knocked me over. But I'm grateful the Country Mart has another breakfast/lunch option. We really like this place but it's a bummer that when they say they close at 7pm it's really around 6pm. At 6/6:30pm they am starting cleaning up and putting all the food away. I would think you could do that after you close. If you aren't going to be able to serve us at 6:30 then close at 6 or 6:30. read more
