I've been eyeing this new halal Indian resturant that opened up during the pandemic. Their menu seemed intriguing and had a great variety. Started off with Sweet Chili Wings, Dahi Bhalla, and Coconut Cinnamon Iced Chai. Dahi Bhalla caught my attention as I was looking through the menu. It was lentil like dumplings drenched in sweet yogurt and topped with pineapple, green chutney, and sev. Each bite bursted with flavors. I enjoyed the the Sweet Chili Wings because it tasted very similar to Sesame Chicken. The drink was refreshing, was not overly sweet but well balanced with ground cinnamon and coconut on top. We got the Chicken Tikka Bowl and Butter Chicken for entrees. The bowl reminded me of a Mexican Burrito Bowl. It had cilantro rice, corn salsa, roasted onions and peppers, and chicken topped with creamy tomato sauce. The Butter Chicken was creamy and delicious with the perfect combination of spice. To complete the meal we had Mango Mousse Cake for dessert. Their service is EXCELLENT, very friendly and welcoming staff. They take great safety measures-staff wearing mask, sanitizing and wiping the tables, and they also provide sanitizing wipes. Came here last night with my sister for Iftar and was amazingly surprised at how packed the place was. We had to wait for a few minutes to be seated, which we understood. Once we were seated, we were quickly greeted by Maria. She was super nice and really informative. We ordered the gol gappa for appetizers and for our entree we ordered butter chicken with garlic parathas and a shrimp biriyani. We also ordered a ginger-lemon lemonade. The gol gappa was alright. I thought it would have the authentic chottpotti taste but its just bland chickpeas. The sauces made it worth eating. For entree we got the shrimp biriyani, butter chicken and garlic naan. We both got the ginger-mint lemonade for our drinks as well. The main dishes were really good. The garlic naan was soft and perfect. Both the butter chicken and shrimp biriyani had great flavor. The drinks were beyond amazing! We were told by our server that it was popular and we can definitely see why. Overall our experience here was very pleasant. The entire staff is super friendly and very welcoming. They all work hard and but as a team. My wife and I were excited to try Paratha Wala for weeks, and we finally ordered take away from them last weekend. We were already impressed by how friendly the staff was when we picked up the food. Once we started eating, our taste buds were blown away! This is probably the best Indian food I've had in NYC in years, and certainly better than most Indian restaurants in Jackson Heights, which has a huge South Asian community. We thoroughly enjoyed these dishes: - Karachi Keema Paratha, which had a sauce that paired perfectly with the spiced lamb in the paratha. - Shrimp Biryani had perfectly cooked shrimp. I would estimate that only 1/10 restaurants I dine at cooks shrimp this perfectly. - Saag Paneer was thick and saucy, perfectly flavored, and the paneer was best tasting version of that cheese we've ever had. We can't wait to go back and order more! read more

A newer establishment that open in Forest Hill recently within past year. The inside look really nice so stopped by on a rainy Sunday to have a good Indian meal. Dahi Bada - great contrast of flavors and savoring. Always like fresh lentil dumplings! The pineapple makes it really contrast and tangy Kale Fritters - the Kale and chickpea combination and deep fried is surprising good. I feel kale is not meant for everyone, but I thoroughly enjoyed the strong contrast of kale with mint ranch. The appearance might be a bit deceiving but it taste good. Lamb Shank - the lamb and the flavor taste really good with their sauce combination. However, with lamb shank, you expect the piece of meat to fall off the bone more easily when you cut into it. It wasn't as tender as it should be, but overall, the plate was very good. I really like the flavor of the meat and the rice too. Chicken Tikka Bowl - very chipotle style which is really cute. The chicken Tikka is really tender, but is not as strong of flavor as what you expect of chicken Tikka to be. The waitress was very accommodating and gave us an additional side sauce of chicken Tikka sauce, which made the bowl have more flavor and taste very good. Overall, the bowl is good and worth getting. Service is really good, the waitress is really attentive and able to clarify our needs and questions. She was very receptive of our feedback and I can see this restaurant have a strong future for success. The restaurant decor is very nice and clean overall. We ordered the following for takeout: Lamb paratha rolls - 5 STARS - amazingly flavored lamb on a thin roti type roll. spices, aroma, chutney had a great kick! It came with fries which were TO DIE FOR. would definitely order again Butter chicken entree - 5 STARS - the sweet, creamy, tomato based sauce is absolutely mesmerizing. Chicken is perfectly cooked. The waitress dropped some fries-which I get happens but the first batch came out very hot and took a long time, but the replacement was cold and took no time whatsoever which led me to believe the fries were the ones of the floor. Was looking for something different for dinner tonight and saw a few community posts about this place on Facebook so decided to give it a shot. By the time we ordered we were quite hungry and based on the menu and pics, we were looking forward to it. Menu was limited but we are still going through a pandemic with takeout and delivery only so probably a really good decision on their part. Would much rather have a limited menu with really good quality food than pages of endless options. We ordered the Kale Fritters, a Lamb Paratha Roll, and a Chicken Paratha Roll which both came with Desi Fries. I will start with the size, a little on the smaller side in my opinion but the food was delicious. The Kale Fritters were not super oily and was very well seasoned. It comes with a small side slaw that compliments the fritters well. Comes with a couple of pieces and we found ourselves really wanting more. May have to get two orders next time or see if they offer a larger portion. The roll was basically a hot sandwich filled with really nicely cooked meat with great recognizable traditional Indian flavors but was fresh and well prepared at the same time. You could tell that it was cooked to order and wasnt just a hodge podge of pre prepped ingredients sitting around for assembly. The bread was basically a Paratha wrap but lighter and with more flavor. The size was on the smaller size again or maybe I was just really hungry but the food was really good. Overall the food is very fresh, well prepared, and seasoned very nicely with just the right amount of spice. The food isn't super heavy like tradition Indian food but still had all the wonderful flavors and spices you would expect and want. There are two Indian restaurants in Atlanta that were my go to locations for Indian Street Food when we lived there, Masti and Chai Pani, and this place kind if reminded me of them which was nice. We will definitely order a few other items on the menu and I really hope these guys get a chance to further expand their menu when the time is right and we get the opportunity to visit them for an in-dining experience in the near future. read more

I have not written a review in over 7 months and felt compelled to do so for Paratha Wala. I was hesitant at first when they opened up about a month ago because the menu seemed Indian with a fusion vibe and thought to myself, "Why mess with Indian food when it's already so delicious?" We came here for take-out for lunch and I am happy to say (with my belly so satisfied) that it is absolutely delicious. We ordered the: Butter Chicken which had the perfect buttery gravy texture with a semi-sweet tomato flavor Chicken Tikka bowl, which was a perfect balance of Chicken with a ton of veggies (I could eat this every day and not feel guilty). Lamb Paratha Roll - cleverly executed tender lamb with pickled onions and greens served rolled in like a "crepe-like" naan with thin fries. Yum. UNBELIEVABLY GOOD! To be honest, I wasn't expecting this to be such good food because I was disappointed that they wouldn't have stuffed paranthas. However, one bite of the paneer parantha roll and I was literally floored. I'm India and a I know what paneer should taste like. It's one of the best paneer paranthas I've ever had in my entire life! If you could call food luxurious, this food is exactly that. My husband had the tofu roll and he said the same. The salad that accompanies the roll too was just fantastic.
