My wife and I just came from a simply lovely meal at Paratha Wala. I'll be honest: I'm not what you'd call a big fan of Indian food, but my wife? She LOVES this stuff, and in the end we were BOTH really pleased with our experience. Our food (and bevs!) were most excellent, the service was quick efficient and incredibly friendly, and the prices are also incredibly reasonable. They informed us that Yes, they'll be happy to deliver to us, to both my wife's and my delight. The one 'down' side I noted while we were there-Although the serving staff were VERY careful about being masked and gloved at all times, from my seat I could watch the kitchen, and it was pretty clear that while they were *trying* to maintain mask discipline, they weren't always 100% successful-I observed a few 'under the nose' incidents, and a couple of 'completely under the chin' ones as well. This being said, I can't imagine how difficult it is to cook wearing a mask. Even with the occasional 'mask slippage' my wife and I are greatly looking forward to enjoying their delicious and diverse menu both in person and in the comfort of our own home. read more

Very disappointing desi food, was nauseous the whole evening. The paratha rolls are what I went for and the biggest desi food disappointment in New York, extra hot just means green chutney . I wouldn't recommend this spot, wings come with a wasabi sauce. It is not a spot to go to other then the cute decor. That's the best and only good part. read more

We had a terrific dinner last night. We have done take-out several times last year but this was our first time dining in. Must have ordered half the menu! We started with the chili wings, samosas and potato croquettes. For entrees we chose butter chicken, railway chicken curry and saag paneer.We also ordered two breads, poori and aloo paratha, and a side order of raita. Everything was delicious and cooked to order (my daughter likes milder food; we prefer spicy). I might have liked a little more sauce on the spinach dish, but other than that quibble the food was top-notch. We finished up with excellent rice pudding and a free order of gulab jamun, sort of Indian donuts in a sugary syrup. My daughter also enjoyed her coconut chai latte, Amit gave us excellent service, keeping our water glasses filled and coming over several times to make sure everything was to our liking. We love this place! I came with my family during Ramadan few weeks ago and the service was top notch! We told them we were fasting for Ramadan and they brought out dates for us and every few minutes they kept coming to our table to see if we needed anything else. This is an Indian Gem around Forest Hills. Love that it is something different from the traditional Indian food and has a healthy fusion to it. Food and service was great! Came by early evening on a Sunday, craving Indian! Was very impressed by the chill atmosphere. Got butter chicken, poori, chicken tikka masala bowl, and garlic parathas. Highly recommend the mango lassi. We were served by Dawa, who was very attentive and gave an excellent suggestion that we get the garlic parathas. I picked up dinner from Paratha Wala last night and so glad I did! I ordered crab cakes and fish fritters to start - the crab was fresh, juicy and delicately seasoned, served over a flavorful slaw; the fish was pleasantly spicy, crisp and served over a fresh mint chutney. My main course was coconut shrimp curry, which was absolutely delicious (served with basmati rice). My husband ordered the paneer bowl, which he really enjoyed - portion was extremely generous! Garlic paratha was so good, I wish I had ordered more than one. We also had a ginger mint lemonade and a rose lassi - both were refreshingly delicious on a very warm night. This was a wonderful restaurant. I had a great experience and great food. The ambience is absolutely amazing. The mural on the wall is hand-painted and beautiful! There is an industrial vibe to the place yet still very classy. The food is well made and very tasty. One of the waiters was telling me that everything is made from scratch including the spices which are grounded fresh every day. The Samosa was amazing and also it's made fresh every day. Funny enough, about a month ago I was walking down Metropolitan Avenue, wishing there was a good Indian restaurant and then last week I saw Paratha wala! The food was awesome, lots of flavor, very tasty. It tastes much better than your average Indian food in America. My order was: crab cakes, butter chicken, coconut shrimp and garlic paratha - all very tasty, my favorite was probably butter chicken, I think if you don't know what to order, order that. I have had the chicken biryani, railway chicken curry, butter chicken, daal, and roti from here. Classic tastes... reminds me of how my mother in-law cooks. If you need a comparison, it tastes like Bengali food. I thoroughly enjoy Indian/Southasian cuisine. I am a tough critic because of my in-laws and my own cooking. However, this place does deserve 5 stars. Not only are the dishes delicious... the service is on point. You are warmly welcomed and if you forget something, they chase you down so you receive it (yes, that happened to me). The only thing that I don't like is that the proportions are small BUT that is what happens when it is a fine dining/modern cuisine restaurant AND is what typically happens in them. I don't blame them for the size and just because it is smaller than what I am used to, doesn't mean they don't deserve 5 stars. It is just so good that you always want more! I picked up some lunch last week I ordered butter chicken, chicken briyani from lunch menu, 2 paratha. The food was extremely spicy even for my friend who can handle lot of spicy even though we ordered mild. The portions were very small for the price. Out total bill was 52 bucks, I would recommend to go to other Indian restaurant it's too expensive for what is is. The spicy isn't flavorful just spice. This halal Indian restaurant is fairly new and was very much needed in the Forest Hills area! South Asian cuisine can be very oily but if you are weary of that like I am- their food was very light and did not feel so heavy. I couldn't be more excited about a new restaurant opening in Forest Hills! Having this place so close to where I live has been a blessing. I may or may not have eaten here 4 times this past week... The flavors, seasonings, and sauces are so impeccably crafted. There are so many vegetarian options as well that aren't just a salad, which is very appreciated! As a vegetarian, I don't feel limited in what I can eat at all. The menu is so unique, unlike any food options I've ever tried. Their breakfast menu is awesome, too! So far I've had their Garden Bowl with tofu, Paneer Roll, kale fritters (which comes with a truly addicting dipping sauce), desi fries, and a breakfast omelette. The sriracha aioli sauce is ROCKING and tastes good on anything. Not to mention their delicious Gulab Jamun and Rasmali desserts to top things off! They also have different chai options, such as rose chai, that are next on my list to taste. All the food is incredibly fresh and of such high quality. Looking forward to trying as many things as I can! Other than great food, the interior is decorated beautifully and their prices can't be beat! So incredibly reasonable and the service is extremely fast. I haven't waited more than 20 minutes before my food was ready to pick up (including a huge dinner order for my entire family). Not only this, but the staff is some of the friendliest restaurant staff I've ever met! I've looked forward to going in to pick up my food so I can chat with them and learn more about their place.
