Delicious Persian food, especially the beef koubideh, rice, yogurt dip, bread (must be homemade sangak, so fresh!), and tadig with khoresheh gheymeh (the tadig and stew was the winner). When we first phoned for a reservation for two people they said they had no space. We decided to still try by walking in....there were a couple of tables open!!!! So glad we gave it a shot.....dont know why they said no before. The food is out of the world. We had one appetizer- the eggplant dip and my husband had the lamb shank for main and I had chicken kababs. The lamb was tender, juicy , falling off the bone meat. The chicken kababs were flavorful and well marinated. The green rice and grilled veggies on my plate were out of the world!!!! This is going to be our go to place in town for all celebrations. The food here is pretty good. I only ordered takeout but the interior looked clean and modern and our food was ready quickly. I ordered the ground beef kebab. The rice was nice and flavorful and I really enjoyed the spices in the ground beef and the dipping sauces. We also ordered the falafel appetizer and the chopped cucumber and tomato salad. Unfortunately the falafel was a tad dry and served without any sauce whatsoever. The salad was light and refreshing, though! I would definitely order from here again and maybe try some of the stews. I would probably rate it more of a 3.5 than a 4 but I would definitely go back and see if there are stronger menu items. read more

I have wanted to try this restaurant since it opened. Lucky enough a parking spot opened up right in front of the restaurant so I quickly pulled in and my wife and I had dinner. We knew the food was going to be great when they brought out home made pita bread with some tasty sauces. We started with a chopped eggplant appetizer that was fantastic. For our entrees my wife had a steak with a side salad made up of perfectly ripe tomatoes, cucumbers and onions. I had lamb chops with a special rice which was amazing. FINALLY I don't have to drive 45 minutes for decent Persian cuisine. Ridgewood has an Amazing Persian restaurant that is true to its roots. Linda was my host and she was inviting and friendly. She shared with me the passion for sharing Persian cuisine at its highest quality in fresh ingredients, preparation and presentation. The preparer is an executive chef and owner, putting every bit of care into his craft. The service was wonderful, prices reasonable (especially fir the portions) and food was delicious. The bread was baked fresh and comes with two dipping sauces, yogurt dill and jalapeño pesto. I chose one appetizer, dried dumpling with chick pea. It was lighter than I imagined. For my entree, I selected the ground beef platter. Though I was eyeing the lamb (next time). I highly recommend visiting this restaurant. You know when you've entered a really well run restaurant and Pardis Persian Grill is one of them. Our family gathered for dinner at Pardis in Ridgewood as an equidistant locale for us. Ridgewood is rife with restaurants, there are many selections for all kinds of fare and so, selection becomes a part time job, checking reviews, peruse the menu and so forth. Pardis is also a BYO if you'd like alcohol, this is very attractive since wine and others are always over charged when on the menu. Pardis is a busy establishment, not chaotic, just busy. Everyone moves with a purpose and it's reflected in the high level of service. Wait staff checks in on you at well timed intervals without being a nuisance (as many restaurants are). The menu is quite representative and we all ordered a wide range of apps & entrée's. All were impeccably presented and delicious to the palate. Pardis is midstream in pricing and in Ridgewood, that's saying something, it's quite easy to stop into a modest bistro and get harpooned with a stratospheric check. Not so at Pardis and their delightful staff. Pardis Persian Grill was a marvelous experience and we all thank the staff and chef for a beautiful family gathering. Very nice and hospitable staff who were always around to answer any questions on the menu or address our requests. Now the food!! The least to say about that it was amazing. Appetizers were delicious, specifically the Sambouseh, falafel, hummus and the stuffed peppers. Sizable portions and good for sharing. We ordered a variety dishes from meat, veggies and seafood. I will start by saying we love Pardis and have been many times without issue. That said we went this past Saturday night for a 7:00 reservation. Huge groups wee first being seated and they had clearly overbooked as there were no available tables. The hostess was lovely and asked if we could wait while she figured something out. We waited 35 minutes along wish 3 other parties - all of whom had reservations and were then told by a gentleman that we could not be accommodated with no resolve. Had they even attempted to apologize? No. My husband wrote a review and received a reply from them almost saying we were at fault - not good business. I understand people may overstay their welcome but that was not the case. You clearly overbooked and should Have been more apologetic to people who wanted to dine at your restaurant - 4 tables worth. You needed to own your error and make it right. You didn't. read more

I've visited Pardis a long time ago, after they opened, and I wanted to try it again. Yesterday my partner and I visited and were very disappointed. We walked in and had to wait to be seen by a hostess. There was a very large, and quite loud, party going on and it was apparent that the staff was frazzled. There were maybe two open tables inside, but it was so loud, that we asked to be seated outside. Initially, the service was good, but after our appetizers came, it took a very long time for the entrees to come. Food was meh for Persian food. It was not as ethnic as it should have been in my opinion. But service continued to deteriorate quite a bit. I had to go back inside to ask about ordering dessert, etc. At that point I asked to have Omid, the owner, to come outside as I wanted to talk to him. Nothing, I had to go back inside a short time later to order another beverage, again I asked for Omid, he never came outside. A third server now came outside and asked if everything was alright. I expressed to him that I've asked for Omid a few times and he's never come out. We paid the bill and left. We will never return here again. If you want authentic Persian food in Ridgewood, do yourself a favor and go to Kebab on the Cliff. Not as inviting inside, and much smaller, but the food is excellent as is the service. Below is an update in response to Omid's response: I understand you can not control the noise, that's why we sat outside, which was fine. However, while the party occupied your time, there were still tables available inside and outside, the restaurant was not at capacity. If you could not handle non party customers in a timely fashion, then you should not have seated them. You suggested that I call the owner, however Omid was clearly there as I saw him at one point in the distance. That is why I asked on 3 separate occasions to speak with him, however, he never came to our table. Any good owner or manager would want to resolve an issue while it's occurring, not after the fact. You make it seem that because we didn't have reservations, we should not have expected good service. Thank you for offering to come back, however, you did not provide adequate customer service while in your restaurant, so there is no need to return. Best of luck. read more

Recently had dinner here with family and all were very pleased. The food was excellent and perfectly prepared. The ambiance and service were perfect for a dinner with family. No complaints. It gets quite busy during peak times, so recommend getting reservations. I eat A LOT, so I very much appreciate the portion size.
