I picked up an order on Christmas Day. I was originally scheduled to pick it up at 9:45 a.m., but I asked if I could pick it up at 8:00 a.m. The staff member working the counter a Mexican woman with long curly hair and long, fancy nails asked what my order was. I showed her the order number, and she responded, "What is it?" even though I had just shown her exactly what she needed to locate the order. It was frustrating and unprofessional, as she appeared completely unaware of the orders that had come through that day. I also purchased a pastry and a drink. The total came to a little over $11. I had $11 in cash and a $100 bill. She immediately said they did not have change. I told her she could either accept the $11 or give me change. She then went to the back and returned with change. This raises the question of why she claimed she didn't have change in the first place. Her attitude throughout the interaction was rude, dismissive, and unnecessary. Just to add on a comment (edit, never mind, found the parchment in between where the trays are ha ha) The pastries are too naked. No wrapping to protect it from the environment. The way you get them is like any other bakery, with a tray and tongs. Im fine with tongs but who knows what the tray has gone through, I believe they sanitize them but they still havent dried when I got the trays, I could stroke my finger on one of em and see my trail. I get individually wrapping pastries can be a waste of plastic but how about the tray its not like they dont have parchment paper or some coverings on the tray. During check out, they have a baggie or a box for your pastries and they have parchment paper when they need to stack pastries on top of each other in box. I just bought a pastry with plastic wrap already (which are usually stationed on top of the shelves) Even the desserts are naked which I always thought was weird cause what if someone sneezes on it. Very poor customer service. Ordered a Christmas themed cake online. When picking up the cake, asked if they can write a few words on the cake. The cashier asked the female pastry chef with glasses, if she can write a few requested words on the cake, she straight out refused. First of all, there was no option to put the words on the website when ordering the cake online, therefore asked in person. I went here on 10/22/2023 and I got one of their pastries. There were 2 employees behind the cashier . One young gentleman was helping one Customer and another young lady was helping me . LOCATION: I never know Paris Baguette has a bakery store in SF , near SFcityCollege / SF state University , visited this store before lunch time to get a birthday cake . SERVICE : I could only see two staff working in this store , I am wondering if it would be under Staff during the rush hour , stafd was friendly but he may be new to work there , because he spent over 10mins to find a right box for the birthday cake. I don't mind be honestly as long as he did not cut the cake into two to fit in a small box for me :) FOOD: I like the cake from Paris Bauguette , and this brand name is very popular in Korea as well where you could find it everywhere . This is now located inside the new H Mart. It's a tiny Paris Baguette so their selection is limited. The only advantage it has is that it's the only place that sells desserts or pastries in the food hall and also basically the only place to get drinks -- though most of the drinks are coffee related. I'd rather go to a larger Paris Baguette. Today we tried: Peanut crumb bun $1.99 -- basically like a pineapple bun, there is no filling, kinda dry and plain, thumbs down Tiramisu tart $2.99 -- overpriced for what you get, lots of cream cheese filling, wasn't impressed Coffee danish $2.99 -- didn't taste a whole lot of coffee flavor but the filling had an interesting almond paste type of taste They also had a cream cheese donut that I was tempted to buy but ultimately refrained myself. Another interesting difference in this Paris Baguette is that they don't prepackage everything in individual plastic sleeves but the price difference is cheaper by about 20 cents. Customer service is fine. Minimal wait. There's a counter available if you want to stand and have your pastries or you can wait to sit when a table in the food hall becomes available. Before my usual H-Mart shopping haul (realizing I haven't done an H-mart review...c'est horrible!) I stopped for a coffee in the adjacent food court at Paris Baguette. I managed to resist the tempting baked goods (probably because I had stuffed my face in the aforementioned food court!) and stuck with beverages, so this is strictly a drink review, but I have ordered goodies from here before and trust when I say YUM. We ordered a matcha frappe and an iced tea and despite it being a very busy weekend day, these were created and served promptly. Both were delicious, but for me, the matcha latte was quite sweet. Probably because I'm used to more traditional tasting matcha and not super in to really sweet drinks. It was still really good.
