The restaurant had cute decor/design theme. I went to place my order at the counter where the employee was helpful and patient, and when I needed more time she said I could have a seat and she would come take my order. She gave good advice on popular items on the menu and gave me more time to pick what beverage I wanted. I was worried the bread was going to be too rough but the cashier mentioned they could also lightly toast it. This is probably one of the better banh mi place compared to the others locally. Growing up, I enjoyed eating banh mi for breakfast and lunch. I had tried their grilled pork, bbq pork, and shredded chicken. Out of the three, I liked the grilled pork the most. The flavor of the grilled pork was there and the bread was just right. The shredded chicken was not bad either. Their teas and coffees are okay too with a variety of selections. I haven't tried their croissant sandwiches but would like to. Service here is not bad. Then I go for the main attraction, The Banh Mi! Which sits right at home with my Vietnamese culture. I'm a classic type so I go for the Original #1 with the cold cuts, pate, mayo and pickled veggies on a baguette. I really like the fact that the baguette isn't too thick and the meat to bread ratio is good. I'm use to having my banh mi cut in half so you're going to have to ask to do that as they usually leave it whole. It looks more aesthetically appetizing seeing all the layers in this way. The server came over several times to make sure that we didn't need anything else. We have been eating Banh Mi sandwiches when they were on $1.50 in San Jose. Banh mi tastes fine, location is good but service? I always order online for pickup, usually one or 2 banh mi's to go. The first few times we let it slide after they told us "our printer is broken so we didn't see your online order" but after maybe the 8th, 9th time, but 10th time through a span of a few months? Is it really broken? I dont know how many times they've failed to "print their online orders" but getting there then having to wait there again is annoying. Please fix your online order issue. We seated ourselves and a staff brought us menus then another took our orders. Today I brought my sister from out of town, toddler niece and daughter's here and we didn't have the best experience. My sister ordered the creme brûlée matcha drink and they were out of it, so she got the regular matcha drink which she said wasn't good. Half an hour later, the second "server" brought out our drinks and vermicelli salads (who never came back to check on us) but didn't bring the mozzarella sticks. I went up to the front counter patiently waiting, two staff came to the front and just waved me down for me to wait for one of the "server" to help me out. Told her we didn't receive the mozzarella sticks and would like to add one order of egg rolls. She said the mozzarella sticks were never added to our order but she would add it. 5 minutes later she came to let me know they ran out of mozzarella sticks and egg rolls. The girl who took our orders never came back to let me know they were out. Also, how do you run out of many items you have on your own menu.... Especially when we received two egg rolls each with our vermicelli salads. Wondering if they didn't want to serve us cause we had kids with us or if they were really out, or they just really have terrible services! But for sure won't be getting our services again! I've tried Paris a few times and its one of the better places in town. The sandwiches may look slim, but its longer than the football looking norm in Fresno. It's similar in style to Lee's Sandwich, except the bread has more of a crunch on the exterior shell, where as Lee's is just all soft. Paris's bread might be hit or miss sometimes. But when its good, its really good, crisp crunch, soft interior. The grilled pork isn't lemon grass, its like a 5 spice flavor, it's not that great. Your better off getting the BBQ pork or the cold cut meats. The veggie's have a nice pickle, the mayo is good, the pate is good, taste like what a banh mi is suppose to taste like. The meat is lean, not fatty, the broth is refreshing, not greasy, they had the flat rice noodles which I enjoy because they are a little bigger and they supplied a healthy amount of veggies to be added to the broth. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon and the shop was busy! The line was almost at the door. Order at cashier then find your seats. They bring your food out to the counter and call out your #.. not sure if they do this for the pho too since it's hot and soupy. We ordered two banh mi sandwiches and a drink. Like I mentioned, it was busy so there was no where to sit.. but when people started leaving the tables were left dirty because the lack of workers??
