It was totally fine with me because it gave me a chance to look a their menu so I wouldn't take her indecisive place lol Even though I always get their chicken salad platter...This visit wound up being no different. I did order a veggie pita for my BFF, who later told me it was perfect. The chicken salad platter is just so good. While waiting for my order, I took in the surroundings. The cool feature they have is you can order from your table by scanning the QR card on the table. I've never seen that before. I am going to try it in my next visit. I didn't wait too long for my order. The cook made sure my order was perfect before bagging. My food was packaged well and made it through the drive home. Great food. Came to this location supposedly an hour before close to one of the workers on his phone almost the whole time and ended up being one of the reasons for our order being wrong. We ordered two different sandwiches and both were wrong, one the wrong bread and the other the wrong sauces; also ordered a salad and they gave the completely wrong one, after trying to clarify which salad it was. It was laid across a bed of plain rice (I was told tatziki came with it. Alas, there was none until I stole some of my husbands sauce), a slab of wet, soggy spanakopita and two dolmades (stuff grape leaves) that were so-so. It never had Sour Pickles, Pepperoncini, or Tomatoes on it! The chicken was shredded not chunked or on the skewer! It was drenched in "dressing" that was more herb than dressing! I waited a very long time for my order. They accidentally gave my food to somebody else and forgot about be. After waiting 30 minutes for my chicken salad pita, and not receiving it yet, I went up to the counter to check on my order. I asked if it was ready yet. They said no, and started preparing my order. The guy at the counter said to the lady at the register, "Oh, I gave it to her instead. I thought it was for her." He had given my food to someone who had come in after me. I slapped my hand to my forehead!! They didn't even bother to do anything to make up for it. They should have at least offered me a free brownie or something. They didn't even apologize either. It was late Saturday afternoon, and I was driving down Battleground when suddenly and without warning, I began craving some Mediterranean food. Lo and behold, as soon as that happened, a restaurant appeared out of nowhere like magic. However discovering a new place was where that magic ended. The chicken was mealy and dry, the pita had no flavor, the soda I drank had a funny flavor to it. The list of things that went wrong goes on and on. I have a sneaking suspicion that the stuff they prepare was made a week in advance rather than the same day, If so, that would explain a lot. I immediately regretted going to Pita Delite the moment I opened my take out bag. I was craving a gyro like no other, but unfortunately it's Sunday and every single Greek place I know of is closed today. So I ventured off to Pita Delite, which I would hardly call Greek. More like the fast food of Greek. It's like saying you want a Hops burger and going to McDonalds. Anyway, I ordered a lamb gyro with a side salad, dressing on the side, and a piece of baklava. I grew up eating this food authentically and this is just a disappointment. The lamb and Pita itself were good but it was ruined with browning lettuce and this glob of tzatziki sauce that was probably the more horrible tzatziki sauce ever. It has ribbons of cucumber mixed with sour cream, but good tzatziki is more than that. I had to wipe all the sauce off and just ate the meat and tomatoes on it. My side salad didn't come with the dressing; they forgot it. So it was bland and dry and after about two bites I threw it away. The baklava was decent. Not bad, not great. It was kind of chewy which was a turn off but the flavor was good, so I still ate it all. Was it worth going to Pita Delite to satisfy my gyro craving? No, not at all. Next time I'll have to hold that craving a day longer and go to Sarah's kebab shop. Now that's a gyro. read more

From the outer appearance of this place I was actually pretty surprised at how good it was. Me and a coworker came here, both for the first time, over lunch break and equally enjoyed our meal!! I ordered the steak and cheese pita with chips and water. It was really really good!! I will have to come back for sure to try something else on the menu!!! We just got take out to go and had some horrible Customer Service. I had taken our child to Little Gym Nextdoor, and was not able to leave them there on their own, so I attempted to call several times, To no answer. Finally after class we both went there to order food. (After class they are extremely tired and cranky, so we were in a rush.) I got there only to find all of staff not busy at all and were just standing around talking, and that is the apparent reason why they couldn't answer the phone. From there they took a usual amount of time to prepare our food, and by that time the little one definitely needed to get home. So I grabbed the food, bag was tied up tight but I saw the two boxes in it, so I assumed it was good, and had no time to check. After getting home we found pretty much half our meal missing. There was No Dressing, No tzatziki, and No Hummus. Making the "meal" just some chicken and lettuce. We attempted once again to call several times to no answer. We live to far away to make the trip for just these items, and I had to eat quickly to get the little one too bed. Horrible customer service, made for a horrible meal... Don't stand around chit chatting with you friends, instead of taking the time to answer phones, and make sure peoples food is right. read more

I am only giving 2 stars because the food was very good, but the service was atrocious. We ordered 2 sandwiches with a side salad and fries to go. We sat while we waited. An older lady came in behind us and she had some trouble hearing and understanding the young guy cooking and the cashier. I was shocked at how rude the young guy was. He basically snapped at every question she asked and when she asked for salt, he barked at her, "what do you need salt for? I put Lawry's on your fries" and refused to give her any salt. Oddly she received her order, sat down and started eating while we were still waiting. The cook disappears to the back so we ask the cashier where our food was. Apparently the young cook only half finished our order and went in the back. The cashier went to the back to ask him and we heard him yell, "what fries?" This place is "fast food Mediterranean." Kabobs, pitas, gyros, falafel, hummus, & such are on the menu, but it's low grade. It's...fast. The falafel is frozen, there's something too rubbery about the pita (yoga mat material is in most corporate-y breads), & the lettuce is shredded iceberg. At the beginning of my frequenting, I didn't view PD as "fast." I would get excited to eat it, but these days, it's different. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy PD, I just have to be in the ardent mood for it. What sells this place is that delicious dressing that's put on everything. Also, it's been a while since I've had the hummus, but it's homemade. If you're a falafel freak, don't expect to get a rich portion. They chop it up into small pieces & then add it to the sandwich/salad. I suggest to order a side of falafel in addition to the main selection (it's what I do). This last time I got a chicken kebob with fries & a salad and the chicken looked sickly & tasted awful, I ate a few bites & tossed the rest, the salad had maybe one piece of feta on it. Pita Delite is vastly underrated, son. Pita Delite is a symbol of consistency and unique flavors. Whenever I take people to Greensboro, my home city (which has some serious work to do in the food game), I make every effort to take them here and make a recommendation to them. Some rec's: the Mediterranean (falafel) platter and the pam's platter with chicken. I get the former most of the time since I became a veggie like six years ago, but I'm throwing in the clucker for those that dig eating animals. The main sauce that they use is not Greek, as is often assumed--it is Lebanese. They call it fajita sauce, Iono why. But anyways, this sh-- is THE BOMB. I would put it on cereal (they have a for sale bottle of it so I might do that). It is SO GOOD son. The pita bread is also amazing. So anyways, this place just has really good strong flavors and those people saying it's mediocre need to check themselves. Some practical things you oughtta know. They close at 8 PM, so don't roll up on the way from the club. They say hello to you the moment you come in. I don't really have a strong opinion about the atmosphere--like it's not anything special there, but it doesn't turn me off either. It's just good food. It is served quick and the people are pretty friendly, but I just don't really need the greetings and all. Not that it irks me or anything. I really liked this place. I'm used to going to Nazareth's or Sarah's kabob shop and since this place is a chain, I didn't expect to it to be all that. In fact, it was pretty good. I ordered a lamb shower my plate and it was delicious. I would highly recommend getting the side of hummus. The hummus is a little spicy and it had so much flavor, I really enjoyed it. The only thing I didn't like is that the food was so greasy, the oil was sliding down and dripping down my hand. It was gross.
