We came here for dim sum and it was a wonderful meal!! The flavors are incredible. The hospitality was very great!! My favorite foods were the 'dom yao' (snowpea leaf greens; perfect), short ribs (perhaps the best I ever ate), the Malay cake, the steamed pork bun, the roast pork and corn in rice pancake. The har gow had great flavor but fell apart (not delicate) and the dumplings were flavorful including Shumai and others, but not as delicate in texture as some. I would definitely return. Wow, surprisingly good! I love how Park Asia went through a complete renovation and turned into a beautiful modern chinese restaurant. Wonderfully large floor length windows light up the entire restaurant, creating a nice airy feeling to your meal... even when you are crowded in a Chinese restaurant. My friend and I came here on a Sunday for Dim Sum - while other places were having lines for 30 minutes for seating, this place was only a mere 20 minutes. ( Aka... not much of a difference). The wait wasn't so bad and not nearly as crowded as all the other places nearby. The food? Well the dim sum food was pretty good - if somewhat average. However, I really did enjoy coming here for dim sum and I truly enjoyed my experience here more than the other near by places if not for the fantastic view and vibe you get from the wonderful renovation. I just came here today for yum cha, after trying 2 other places with a 30 minute wait. Like most yum cha establishments, the decor was the same and food was pretty standard. But i did find the cart ladies to be nice and not too pushy (pun intended) and the prices were below sea level. I've spent more on a night of drinking than I did at Park Asia for a party of 5. Their malaysian roll cake was so-so, but their noodles were great. Service was speedy and it's a great yum cha spot. read more

I highly recommend Park Asia. The waiters are attentive and always on call. Maggie and Tim, the owners, are always with huge smiles and courteous to greet you. The restaurant is exceptionally clean. What more can I say! This is the best spot in Brooklyn for authentic Cantonese food. Not to mention, their chef was hired directly from Hong Kong, China. I have dined here on many occasions. There were banquet parties with hired singers with fun/games and family birthday dinners with hired magicians to keep the kids entertained. Food...there are too many delicous selections, I don't know how to begin. The ultimate favorite is alaskan king crab, it is to die for. There are two way to cook it, stir fry crab (called "ba wong hia) or the steam crab served cold with delicious dipping vinegrette sauce. Another delcious entree is the jumbo shrimp with walnut and mayonnaise. I am a health fanatic so the steamed fish with soy sauce is a must try. This type of cooking will bring out the savory fish flavor without the fishy smell. Their signature dish is the crispy garlic chicken with the layer of skin that is so yummy and crunchy. For traditional birthdays, we were offered free "sao bao", which is the red bean paste in steamed buns. It symbolizes good luck and good health. A Dimsum place with a very nice interior. High ceiling with nice chandeliers and big windows. It feels so fancy inside, there's also an upstairs section. Their dimsum is mediocre yet expensive. I decided to come here last minute with my mom on a Saturday and it was really busy. Thinking we probably won't be able to get seats or at least have to wait and share a table with other groups, it turns out we only had to wait a few minutes and we were seated at an empty table promptly. The ladies who push the dimsum carts around were all up in your face before our chairs even got warm. Too attentive to the point where I was about to tell her to just drop all of what's in her cart onto our table. I obviously didn't do that and controlled myself. We waited a while until the cart with the regular dimsums came around. We got the har gow (duh) and siu mai (duh duh). Both are a must-try at dimsum places to see if they're even good at making the basics but I have to say they were only decent here. We also beef tendons (she gave us one that didn't look to fresh and was super small in portions so we asked her to give us the one below that and no surprise it was a way nicer and bigger bowl of beef tendons) and beef tripes (too pricey for the amount we got - $4.50). The beef tendon was flavorful however they weren't cooked enough, thus some were quite hard and took a few more chews instead of melting in my mouth. The beef tripe is not worth mentioning. I waited so long until the bun cart finally came and I got my favorite salted egg yolk custard bun. I honestly have to say, these buns are pretty good here. Usually at most places, these buns are filled with oil when you open it in half. I know it's suppose to spill out but I haven't seen one that has not much to no oil at all. It was still really yummy and not too sweet. I wanted to get another order of that but my mom had to stop me. Then we ended with the curry cattle offal. It had a great yet not too strong/spicy of a curry taste to it and the offals weren't cooked too much, which makes it really chewy. The dimsum in my opinion was a bit pricey for the quality we got. I felt we were paying a bit for the fancy environment rather than for the food. I might come back again for dimsum if nearby places get hard to find seats on weekends and this place is as easy as it was the other day. read more

It's my first time here and I really liked the experience and the food! I went with my parents for dinner. The reason my mom chose this place over all other Chinese restaurants on 8 Ave is that their decor really stands out from the rest, it just felt classy. Although their food items were pretty pricey, they were delicious and staffs were super friendly so we were okay with it. We ordered 3 dishes for the night: steamed dungeons crab with sticky rice, herbal chicken soup, and stir-fried snow pea leaves with garlic. They were all very delicious! I came here with my family for the first time since their renovation and expansion. Decor and interior design is nice, the restaurant is clean and sanitary on a Chinese restaurant standard. Although their decor is nice, their dim sum doesn't match that. If you're sitting on the second floor, you can forget about your dim sum arriving hot. Or even warm. You can also forget about ordering from the dim sum carts, those ladies aren't going to bother coming upstairs. So get a table on the first floor. Regarding the dim sum, it's definitely average. You can judge a restaurant's dim sum based on a few essential dishes that you just can't mess up. For me, that is the har gow or AKA steamed shrimp dumplings. The portion was the usual four dumplings, however, the size of the dumpling was smaller than the standard I'm use to. Flavor was okay, but the rice paper skin was thick. The skin was definitely not thin enough to the point where it is transparent. Sieu mai had great taste and better sized portion. The execution was a little off because all the juices pooled to the bottom of the wrapper and made separate from the filling. My family and I also ordered a rice and noodle dish from the kitchen, they were both delicious and it came steaming hot. There was some mis-communication between the waiter and kitchen, so initial we got a different noodle dish than what we ordered. The staff was very accommodating and they took back the dish and gave us back the right one. Therefore an overall, OK experience. read more

This place is huge and clean. Their dim sum is good and they have a wider selection of dishes than Bensonhurst dim sum joints. It's very popular on the weekends so come early, especially if you're with a large group. I came here with a group of 6 and we had to wait 20 minutes around 12:30 pm, maybe longer. Parking is hard to find once the lot is full. They do have quite a few sweeter/dessert dim sum selections than most other places in Brooklyn. They have a mango coconut cold dessert soup dish that we all slurped up. They also have good dishes for dinner -- I've eaten here twice. The food is not greasy but flavorful and fresh. The buzz from the huge dining area & upstairs private dining rooms (which are opened up to the public if no events are booked) are full of local energy & add to the venue's excitement. There's neither valet nor garage parking so it's competitive given the 8 Av's area busyness. The service is the 8 Av standard: brisk, fast, and faster. I would advise people to avoid this place, especially for dinner, as their dinner service is abysmal. I can't speak for their dim sum, which they are known for, as I haven't come here often enough for dim sum to judge. However, I have been here with my relatives countless times for every Chinese and Western holiday, birthday parties, and other special occasions, etc. to conclusively tell others I've had enough of this place. Their food is overpriced and super bland like they don't have the word "seasoning" in their dictionary. I'm not even a professional chef, and cooking is a hobby for me, but I can say with confidence that I can produce better dishes than what this restaurant's kitchen can produce for their hungry guests. Everything is under seasoned and cooked improperly. Maybe the only thing they can cook properly is vegetables, as that was the only thing that was passable. The lamb chops were disgustingly undercooked, and gamey to the point of being inedible. Their shrimp with mayo tasted very wrong, like it was way past its freshness date. Their very pricey scallops were cooked to the point of no return, and were rubbery and dry, condensed to a tiny hockey puck, with no flavor whatsoever. The manager offered to drown it in some soy sauce in an attempt to save them, to no avail. The soup was bland, and as you can imagine, worth $$$$ but had no taste to match its price tag. Overall, another disappointing dinner to add to this restaurant's history of disappointing dinners that I've had here. But what really was the kicker? The horrendous service to match with their bad food, the latter of which is to be expected at this point. There was a wedding reception going on at the same time as our dinner, and we were sat right next to the speakers. As you can imagine, this reduced our enjoyment of a rather mediocre experience here to negative values. We couldn't have a proper conversation at all, since the speakers were blasting our eardrums off, and the whole table and the floor were vibrating from the sound. If you're going to have other diners in the restaurant during a large wedding reception, you should have consideration to how to increase their comfort too, as they are also paying customers. I'm sure their first priority would be the wedding guests as that means big money, but other guests who are repeat customers would not come back because of your lack of thought to their comfort. You should have soundproof panels or adjust the speakers so it doesn't affect other guests on the same floor as the wedding reception, or offer the upstairs seating as an option. Regardless, we tipped them less for their ridiculous service and lack of care towards us and our experience this evening. The waiter had the nerve to chase after us, saying we tipped him $10 less than we were supposed to, and asked for $20 to make up for it, and also he should get more tips because it's still Chinese New Year. The nerve! Please, please avoid this place for dinner! If I could give negative stars, I would. There are much better places on 8th Ave to dine than here. read more

This place deserves a solid five-star! It serves authentic Cantonese cuisine and is probably the best in the city. Among the dishes we ordered for two people, the steamed fish (live fish of the day) was perfectly done and it reminded me of the countless fish dishes I had growing up in Canton; the steamed scallop in the shell had such rich taste with minimal but classic seasoning (salt and garlic); the blanched bok choy was fresh and had just the right amount of oil and salt (for vegetables, you should always ask the waiter what vegetables are food / fresh for the day and the best cooking methods to go with instead of just ordering from the menu; same with seafood). Bought the bf here for early dim sum on a weekday. We went around 10 am and I love how it's hustling and bustling with food carts already at that time. We were seated and served quickly with tea in less than five minutes, the food came a tad bit later since they were slowly rolling through the other side of the restaurant. The food was just okay, they were the typical dim sum plates. None of the plates really stood out to us in terms of taste and flavor. Despite the food, the restaurant was renovated about a year ago and the change is a must see! Park Asia is now quite elegant in its interior design, it has become super spacious; the chandeliers, velvety purple seats, and flood of natural light through their gigantic windows makes the dining experience different from all the other Chinese restaurants in the area. read more

Came here after they did renovation and the place does look a lot nicer. Their parking lot still looks very small and tight.. So street parking is still a better option. The food was pretty decent only when eating there. For some odd reason, if u order take out, it doesnt taste as good. They are also pretty pricey. We spent $90 on dinner last night and the 3 dish was just bleh.. The chicken was super chewy, the shrimp was not crispy and the veggies was just drenched in oil.. The soup was filled w some very dry fish maw. I dont remember park asia's food tasting like this prior to the renovation.. We would prolly never order take out from them again. read more

I've come here a handful of times for dim sum and dinner with family, friends and relatives. Although it's not a bad place, it's almost never a first choice either. Usually it's because the place we want to go to is full, or because of it's location. Parking wise, there is a small lot that holds about 6-8 cars. Plenty of street parking available nearby but make sure you read the signs as there are many traffic cops nearby to write tickets. It's about a 5-7 minute walk from the 8th avenue train station, which makes it a pretty central location. Bus stop is down the street. The restaurant at a glance is beautiful. The moment you walk in, you'll notice the high ceiling and chandeliers. Everything looks neat and nicely put together. I would service depending on the day is either below or average at best- not the friendliest but gets the job done. So for me, in order to be a good dim sum place, it has to be a combination of good tasting food that's appealing to look at with a fair price. Growing up in an environment where I had dim sum all the time, I've become rather picky. Mind you, I don't mind paying more if I know I'm getting better food. With all that being said, I think their dim sum is average. While it's nothing stellar, it's not awful either. The only thing is, they're pricier compared to neighboring restaurants. They have all the typical dishes you would want at dim sum. Every so often, they would make some special dishes but beware! They are more expensive! My only concern is that I've noticed they use a lot of shrimp in everything which is fine by me, but not ok if you have food sensitivity or allergies. Dinner is underwhelming. He'll show you your table and that will be it. Women in carts will be pushing varieties of dim sum favorites! If you know what you want, good for you! If you're new to the game dim sum, highly recommend looking up what is what before going and then when you see it, point at it! The women will mark the card for the size of the dish and charge you by that. Park Asia is actually quite expensive and the food is similar to food in other areas, but the decor says it all. Just went there this morning for dim sum and it was horrible. The dim sum was cold and bland, but the worst was the service. Our server was lazy and unattentive. I have never seen someone walk around so much but do so little. Our tea was not refilled even though he passed by our table multiple times and he only took certain plates away and not others. It was weird. His tag number was 212. And later when we were about to leave, we asked the manager to write up our bill. He just looked at us and walked away. Just rude. So overall poor service all around with poor dim sum quality. Go to other dim sum places like East Harbor, Bamboo Garden or Pacificana. Avoid this place. read more

And they also have some special chef's dish with mussels, and other seafood (I don't remember the name), and that's pretty good too.
