French Onion Soup!!!! So full of flavor and the cheese was mesmerizing!
    Tori O.

Bartender was attentive and VERY CLEAN. She was cleaning the entire time. I ordered the cafe chicken, hubs ordered the cheese plate. I was hoping for a Hugo Spritz, but she said they did not have lime. Darn it. We dug in way too fast for pics.

Frittata of the Day. arugula goat cheese and mushrooms yummy.

Ok. My daughter took me for my birthday brunch. Ordered a Bloody Mary actually ok, but the star was the food. I ordered the Mussels with spicy tomato and Italian sausage, I almost licked the plate. My daughter had the frittata of the day which had goat cheese and arugula. Check out the pictures of the food. Definitely a stop by must. Heads up we showed up when they opened at 11 and we were not the first in. It was full in 10 minutes come early or be prepared to wait.

Great menu for vegans, vegetarians and others. Loved the mezze plate, especially the sweet red pepper walnut sauce. My husband and I shared it and couldn't finish it. It's big enough for more than 2 people to share. Loved the crisp cucumber and the halved grape tomatoes. The husband liked the raw red pepper slices. The grilled peach salad was fine, but I wasn't hungry after the mezze plate.

Went back here for dinner on a Saturday night in late summer. Beautiful place to sit outside for the evening and their outdoor seating has grown during Covid. Quiet street, quick and friendly service. We started off with the buffalo cauliflower bites appetizer, which was excellent! The cauliflower was definitely fully fried but only thinly breaded. Came with a strong and spicy sauce, blue cheese crumbles, and a small bed of greens. My wife and our friend both got the bowl of mussels. I think this is the restaurant's signature dish and it did not disappoint! The bowl is large and the fries (if you choose to get them alongside) are thin and crispy. The cool thing is that you can get a few different sauces for the mussels. My wife got the classic white wine sauce and our friend got a spicier and slightly heavier red sauce with chorizo. I am not as adventurous and just stuck with the Bruges Buger, which was also great. Thick, topped with bacon, pickles, and a mayo type sauce, so it had lots of flavor. Came with a nice side salad of romaine and candied walnuts. Only small downside is that it does not come with fries (you have to get this as a stand-alone side).

I'm sad to say I was disappointed in our most recent trip to Park Bruges. I have eaten dinner there many times, and always get the mussels. They really are the best in the city. I love their double fried french fries too...especially dipped in the white wine and garlic sauce from the mussels! Yum! My mom and I decided to go for lunch on Saturday around 2 pm. When we got there it was still their brunch menu. I hadn't even thought about that, but always see the brunch photos on Instagram. I wanted to get the mussels, but decided I should try their brunch since I was finally there on a Saturday afternoon. I ordered the brunch prix fixe menu which included an entree, side, and drink. I ordered the smoked salmon eggs benedict, cajun potatoes, and a glass of sparkling rose. Our waiter was friendly, but seemed spaced out. He was very excited to tell us about the specials. My mom ordered an apple and bleu salad with salmon with dressing on the side. Our waiter asked if I wanted champagne that came with the brunch special, but I wanted the sparkling rose. I think there was an upcharge for it. Our food came out looking good! I was surprised that my eggs benedict was on 2 half pieces of Italian bread instead of an English muffin. I just have looked closer on the menu. It came with some lightly dressed lettuce on the side. I took a bite and realized it was very lightly dressed. It tasted like they sprayed olive oil spray on it. I thought it needed dressing. The poached eggs looked awesome. I cut into the yolk and tried a bite, only for it to be ice cold. I'm not one to ever complain or send a dish back, but cold eggs are not edible. The toast seemed like it had been sitting for a while, because it was also cold and hard. I told our waiter and he apologized and took my dish. I asked for a fork and ketchup so I could start on my potatoes, but I had to ask him a second time since he forgot. My mom's salad came out with dressing on it even though she asked for it on the side. She ate while I waited for my food. I think they just put my plate in the microwave, because it came out exactly as I had left it with one bite eaten out. The poached eggs were then hard on the outside. It was just all around nor what I expected. I thought they were going to remake the dish. I still ate it because we were so hungry at this point, but I definitely would not go back for brunch. The sparkling rose and potatoes were both good. I will stick with the mussels from now on!

Came here again for lunch with a friend of mind and had a great time. Food was amazing drinks were amazing. Just had to say that. My favorite neighborhood spot.

This is listed as a 'Small Plate' - pulled pork poutine whose deliciousness is exceeded only by its size! Fantastic!

We enjoyed ourselves supremely at Park Bruges last night: the pulled pork poutine and the maple bourbon glazed salmon vying with one another for best dishes we've eaten since moving to Pittsburgh; the service made poetic by servers who take their service so very much to heart; the ambiance that of a neighborhood place - a great, good place where meeting one another & talking vie with great food & drink. Yep, we've found a home at Park Bruges - a place where friendliness holds the menu for us while we enjoy ourselves selecting dish after delectable dish...

My 1st 'post-pandemic' stop in was this week. I was very happy with everything. They always have a nice beer selection. This was one of the first places in Pittsburgh where I was able to find good Belgian beers. I had the cheese plate, which I always love. The cheese selection is always great. They have traditional choices and also add something with just the right amount of funk. I will say the plating was a bit more thrown together than it has been in the past - and no one explained what the cheeses were. They were still delicious. My husband had the green curry mussels and they were delicious as always. My daughter and I shared the roasted chicken. It was very yummy but not as salty as I remember (which maybe is a good thing). Overall, I'm so glad I came back and will continue to have regular dinners here.

    moules frites in green curry

This was one of the stranger meals we've had because it started so well. The appetizers were exceptional and everything we were historically used to at going to park/point Bruges for over 5 years. Then the entrees came out... I'm always hesitant to give a below 4* rating because I know it's life/death for restaurants, but the second half of our meal was very bad. --- The moules frites in green curry is the money dish. That's why you go to Park Bruges. Broth was rich with a kick, there were a ton of perfectly cooked mussels, and the fries/baguette were there to sop up the rest of the broth. Hands down best mussels I've had in town. The mezze board, which I wasn't super excited for, was a really pleasant surprise. The hummus and muhammara / walnut dips were freshly made, really flavorful and the muhammara in particular was unique. I'm addition to the pita crisps, olives and feta there was basically a side salad in the middle with a vinegarette. It was a huge portion - great for sharing. We finished the apps fully expecting to have amazing entrees that we'd probably have to bring home. Then they came out... The chicken sandwich was burnt. I'm not sure what happened here.. Left in the fryer too long? Under the heat lamp too long? Both? The bun crumbled from over toasting when it probably shouldn't have been toasted in the first place. Beyond that, the chicken was bland and the sauce was lost in the million breadcrumbs from taking a bite. You can see most of this on the picture. The tofu banh mi: I was skeptical in the beginning, but I love tofu and love banh mi sandwiches so I thought I'd give it a shot. The baguette was not fresh, which is a bad start for any sandwich, but especially a banh mi. My advice, buy them fresh from la Gourmandine, raise the price if you need to and don't look back. The tofu did not appear to be marinated and was fried instead, which means that the sauce really had to be on point, but it wasn't and there just wasn't nearly enough. The picked veggies were fine, but not enough to save the flavor. It honestly felt like something you would make at home only to realize you forgot 2-3 critical ingredients. A lot of people will say "it's tofu, what did you expect?", but it's one of my favorite foods - even as a carnivore. Both side salads were fine. My wife and I could really only took a bite out of each sandwich and immediately washed down the bland dryness with some beer before letting the server take the rest. We were so happy with the appetizers I think the server just kind of assumed we liked the entrees as well and didn't ask how the food was. I should have brought it up, but at that point the meal was done and we both just wanted to get out of there and saved ourselves the awkward interaction. --- We don't live in the city, but we do go into it multiple times a month for dinner. With all the added costs of baby sitters, Ubers, etc. we really want the meals to be as close to perfect as possible. I was honestly shocked a restaurant of this quality would even serve something like these sandwiches. I'd say we would come back for the mussels, because they really are that good, but point/park are too far from other things we typically do in the city that I'm not sure it's worth a special Uber ride for us when there are more consistent restaurants elsewhere in the city. It would have been 1* if not for the apps because the sandwiches ranged from too bland to care to inedible. If you're going here, stick to the the mussels.

Weekend brunch take-out at Park Bruges was honestly disappointing compared to our expectations. Ordering by phone at open was easy and we were quoted a 15 minute wait. We arrived on time for pickup and the name was spelled incorrectly and we had to wait for an additional 5-10 minutes until it was ready. This wouldn't have been an issue, but it was apparent that the food wasn't properly timed or packed for optimal takeout. The drive home is only 3 minutes and we immediately ate the food. Unfortunately, we found the following: Poutine: soggy and lukewarm fries, steamed from being in the container with the gravy and congealed cheese from cooling. Good flavor, just disappointing. Country fried steak - also soggy/cold, lacking flavor, dry jalapeño honey cornbread. the sweet onion glaze was a touch too vinegary. Thankfully, the mussels were AMAZING - piping hot, full of delicious sauce and paired with crusty bread. The bonus of take-out is that none of that sauce went to waste - we poured it over pasta for dinner. Our best guess is that the mussels took longer than expected and our other items were left sitting on the line before they were given to us since there was an additional wait, leading to cold and soggy food. The packaging might need to be tweaked so this is less likely, as most people likely have longer drives home than we do. Another suggestion is to package sauces (eg gravy, glazes) separately. In a COVID world, thinking about proper takeout is important. I wish everything was as phenomenal as the mussels had been, but for the price of brunch and the disappointing quality we received, changes would need to be made before we come back again for takeout.

Here are my ratings for what we ate: Duck Wontons - 4.5 stars - Wontons contained bacon, duck, onions, garlic, Swiss cheese, and French onion broth. Very flavorful. Deviled Eggs - 4.5 stars - The deviled eggs were filled with avocado, bacon, and tomato slaw. Shoot the Breeze - 4.5 stars - This entree consisted of a 14-ounce ribeye with chimichurri, pickled red onions, potato gnocchi, and garlic alfredo. The ribeye was juicy. ABSOLUTE PERFECTION FROM START TO FINISH 10/10!…read more Perfection. Everything about Talbots is absolute perfection. I eat A LOT of food, and one common denominator I see among top-tier restaurants is that the owners and management are a direct reflection of the overall experience, quality, and taste. Talbots is no different. We felt right at home from the moment we walked in. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly, like lifetime friends. Our waitress, Teresa, was fantastic. She passed all the vibe checks and matched our energy immediately, all the signs of a veteran server you want guiding you through one of the best eating experiences of your life. She gave us her recommendations and left us to decide. We knew we were here for the #hashtagyouwont 36oz ribeyes, but we wanted to see what else was recommended since everything looked and sounded amazing. We decided to order a lot of food, almost everything that was recommended. This will be a bit of a long-winded review, but I'm sure the true foodies will appreciate it, so here we go: THE APPETIZERS The Brie: How can brie be so good that it deserves to be talked about first? I have no idea, but it was excellent. The strawberry-jalapeño jam, brie, candied pecans, baby naan, and fruit just worked so well together. An absolute hit. Pork Cheek Tacos: These melted in your mouth and exploded with flavor. They were also a really decent size, we were expecting little bite-sized tacos on a dumpling wrapper, but got two substantial tacos instead which was a pleasant surprise. Naan Bombs: Flat out delicious, and there were enough in the serving for everyone to have a few. Duck Wontons: So unique and flavorful. These were like little empanada explosions of flavor. THE MAIN EVENT: THE 36OZ RIBEYE When I tell you this was a perfect steak, this was a perfect steak. Cooked medium rare, oozing with flavor, and charred to absolute perfection on the outside. That is no easy feat with a cut this size, but somehow Talbot and crew made it seem like a walk in the park. Hidden under the steak, soaking up all the juices, are the house cut fries. I forgot they were even there because of the sheer size of the meat! By the time I discovered them, they were soaked with steak juice, but somehow remained crispy and soggy at the same time. It was brilliant, the fries almost had a poutine like aspect to them. Magnificent, completely unique, and made so much sense. As for the side of corn salad.... absolutely mind blowing. It just looked like corn with some sauce on it, nothing special at all. I am so sorry I underestimated you, Mr. Corn Salad. My God, this stuff was amazing. It didn't make sense to me, but I didn't care, I just kept shoveling it into my mouth. DESSERT We saved room for dessert (of course) and got three: The Chocolate Cake: A plate of pure, chocolaty goodness. Pecan Sweet Potato Pie: Spectacular. Coconut Cream Cheesecake: Wow. I am a sucker for coconut and cream cheese anything, and this checked every single box. THE VERDICT Throughout the night, we watched Talbot go up to each table to check in on everyone, and the chef even came out to talk to us. It was an absolute perfect meal top to bottom, start to finish. You can tell how much this entire establishment cares about what they do, and it is a direct reflection on the food. It's not often I can say a meal is flawless, so I have to give them their flowers in a long well deserved review. Five stars, two thumbs up, and a standing ovation for Talbots Taproom. P.s. Extra kudos for all the cool art and overall atmosphere. There is a ton of stuff to do outside as well but we were there on a chilly night so remained inside. We saw a patio, disc golf, and all sorts of other activities, even a tree house. We can't wait to make the hour trip again and enjoy all they have to offer once summer is in full swing!

We ate early and there weren't too many others there so I hope it got busier later. Definitely rivals Stefano's. And less expensive!

Examples of menu items are appetizers (e.g., shrimp cocktail and nachos), soups, salads, wings, burgers, flatbreads, entrees (e.g., pasta primavera, chicken, duck, pork chop, swordfish, and A-5 wagyu), desserts (e.g., limoncello and cheesecake), and drinks (e.g., mocktails, cocktails, wines, whiskeys, and beers). My husband and I have eaten here twice--once for lunch last year and once for dinner this year. Both times, we enjoyed the employees' service and the foods. Here are my ratings for what we ate: Passionfruit-Paloma Mocktail - 4 stars - sour. Spring Sangria - 4.5 stars - slightly fruity. Jumbo Pretzel - 5 stars - huge size with beer cheese and mustard sauce. French Onion Soup - 5 stars - This soup had a rich broth, onions, and cheese. Ybor Cuban sandwich - 4.5 stars - nicely crunchy toast with tasty pork, ham, and Swiss cheese and a side of crispy onion rings. Salmon - 5 stars - I ordered this entree both times. The salmon was perfectly cooked and came with flavorful farro grains, cherry tomatoes, and asparagus. Filet Mignon - 5 stars - This 8-ounce steak was cooked mid-rare as my husband prefers. It came with whipped potatoes and his choice of au poivre style (black pepper crusted with bourbon cream).
