This took the award for "Overall Best Meal" we had on our trip to Banff. Mostly because all the elements of our experience was great. I would tell anyone that goes to Banff to come here for dinner. You'll see all around town that their alcohol is on every menu in the city and when you try it you will know why. Reservations: They will do walk ins if available, but we saw people get turned away. So if I were you, go ahead and make reservations on OpenTable. Ambiance: This was a very cute restaurant. It had the warmth of a cozy mountain tavern but it had a bit of industrial-ness with the views of the distillery. Food: Drinks - I got a Sawback, and my wife got an Old Fashion. These were probably the best cocktails we had on our trip. Cornbread (appetizer) - this was good but probably not "needed". The bread was very light and the maple butter was just a smidge maple (just a bit sweet). Bison Burger - this was my favorite burger of the trip. It was simple but really good. Rotisserie Chicken Sandwich - this was my wife's favorite. It was chicken coated in bbq sauce with coleslaw on a bun. I'm not normally that interested in reviewing a place when I agree, more or less, with the other 500 reviews. But I just had my fifth meal at the Park Distillery and realized that everyone one of them has been really good. From the food, service, and beverages, excellent, every time. As you'd expect, they make their own spirits and offer some excellent cocktails. They offer have an extensive list of local beers on tap. The food menu varies from the traditional Park Burger and Fries to an Ahi Tuna Salad or Seared BC Salmon. They carry gluten free food and beer, and have a complete vegan and kid's menu. They are managing the Covid isolation fairly well, luckily it's a big space so distancing is easy. Service has always been friendly and attentive, even when, like most pre-Covid evenings, it's crazy busy. Worth a visit when your in town. read more

Good spot for cocktails and a beer. The place is usually pretty busy, at least from what I noticed every time I walked by. The day we went we were able to snap a seat at the bar. Park's decor and use of space really does complement the ambiance - We've enjoyed beers on the patio, lunch in the main floor and then dinner on the top floor. Park is really in keeping with the national park vibes which I really enjoyed! It's great to sit down and enjoy a meal and take in the atmosphere. The food is really good at Park, Everything appears to be freshly made and the portions are on point. We are yet to leave the restaurant ever feeling uncomfortably full. We went for dinner during a weeknight in the spring and we were seated right away. Waitress was helpful and friendly. We ordered a mixed drink and straight gin. Drinks were great. We ordered Caesar salad and sausage rolls to share. The salad has bacon and croutons, and dressing was on the creamy side not fishy flavored and it had shredded chicken. It was delicious. Billboard ads work! On the drive from Calgary to Banff I saw a sign advertising gin at Park Distillery. As a gin fan I definitely wanted to give it a try. On our first night we stopped by to get a cocktail but the bar was full with an hour wait. The next day I called to see if I could make an earlier dinner reservation for our large party and we lucked out. The timing was perfect because by the time we drove back from Jasper they had our table ready. Service wasn't that great but the food and drinks made up for it. The Game Burger was delicious and I surprisingly enjoyed the pork poutine. I like my fries generally plain but since we were in Canada I had to give poutine another shot. We made a last minute reservation for Park Distillery for a group of 7 on a Saturday night and were seated right when we got there. I tried the Hard Root Beer which tasted just like regular root beer, hard to believe there was any alcohol in there! For my entree I ordered a Rancher's Steak Frites which came with a 10oz sirloin with garlic butter and crispy onions, served over a bed of curly fries. The steak was good, cooked a medium rare per my preference. Fries were awesome, I really couldn't stop eating them. Another popular item for the table was the Cedar Plank Salmon which was served with an arugula and radish salad. Did not give a straw or anything to mix it either. The fries were incredibly salty way overpriced and were fried from any grocery store and some fake truffle powder. The wings were not spicy at all and actually tasted sweet - not a fan at all. The spicy rigatoni was not spicy at all and lacked total flavor. Maybe some of the salt from the fries could have helped.
