I really want to say the everything was stellar when I brought my car in to have the starter replaced considering I was able to get it fixed the same day. But considering the final price was $1400 to have it replaced I'm not sure I can. Nearly every starter I've found for sale hovered around $100 to $300 but I was quite shocked to find a $650 starter on my bill. I can understand being charged $500 for labor but a 330% markup? In addition to that I was dismayed that the "suggested fixes" were also similarly marked up (much higher than other estimates for the same work). I had asked about the increase in pricing but my concerns were dismissed as "rising costs." I was very happy with the service but if these are the prices you charge I can't see myself coming back for any other repairs. read more

I have been utilizing the surfaces of PARKER AUTOMOTIVE since the days when Mike Parker was operating out of his house. Well over 35 years. I won't take my car anywhere else. I don't take my brand new cars to the dealer unless the item is a warranty item. Everything goes to Parker. Parker and his family are honest and reliable and I trust them. They never try to sell me something I don't need, and even predict when I might need to have a certain service done and what it will cost. If necessary, they will come all the way down to Green Valley where I live and pick up my car, service it, and bring it back to me. While they began by servicing only Hondas, today they service every make, and model that I am aware of whether it's an American car or from another country. Give them a try. I've been coming to Parker for nearly 10 years. Way back when they were a tiny two car garage. I used to take my Honda to them until it was totaled. I like their new place. It has a section to watch TV. A little kitchenette with a fridge full of bottled water, coffee, tea and a sink. The bathrooms are big and they've got a little table if you want to spread out. If you don't feel like hanging around they've got a courtesy car to drop you off and pick you up. My last visit was interesting. Mr. Parker brought me a tablet with a photo of my car. He showed me what was going on and why it needed to be fixed. That's new and I appreciated it! They generally bring out the part for me to see if there is an issue but I trust them. One time, many many years ago, Chapman Honda said I need X Y and Z fixed and it would be around $2,000. I was still young and new to car maintenance and new to Parker so I took it to them for a second opinion. Parker scoffed, showed me the parts they were talking about and explained why they were fine. I never forgot that and that's why I go to Parker. I never feel they're trying to nickel and dime me. As a female, that is a hard comfort to find. They can be expensive but I feel they're worth every penny. read more

I am new to town and Parker was near my house. Upon first impression I found the prices high but the people very kind, and very professional, so I figured "you get what you pay for" and tried them out. After a couple very high priced diagnostics I was surprised when they quoted me $1800! because one of my tie rods was rusted stiff and they were unable to do an alignment because of it. Parker said I needed to replace my whole steering rack to deal with the oxidized tie rod. Luckily I decided to get a second opinion and took my truck to another smaller mechanic/Garage. They replaced both tie rods and did the alignment without a hitch for 700$ and didn't touch the steering rack. This experience made me very skeptical of Parker, perhaps it was a miscommunication or a mistake but I'm glad I followed my gut on this one. read more

I'm originally from California, so as I drove into Tucson for a long weekend, of course my oil change light went on. Not knowing any mechanics in the area I did what a lot of us do, look on YELP! Come to find this place. Scott was very welcoming and honest. It's really cool how they use technology to show you all that your car needs. I went in for a simple oil change and tire rotation and came out with a complete diagnostic report of my car. I return to California, share the information with my original mechanic who tells me that my car will need the things that Scott told me I needed soon. I never felt pressured to do any of the extra things they recommend for this reason, I would definitely return! read more

A scam of an automotive repair group. They have a great showroom and seem to be very diligent about interviewing you about repairs. I booked an appointment for my truck to give to my daughter who's 16. I've maintained this truck for years well kept recording. but with life found myself having to let somebody else do some general maintenance. I had them do about $1000 in general upkeep rear brakes (disc) $279 oil change higher mileage $99 brake flush and valve seal gasket. And diagnostic. Two days later broken oil pan 6 quarts of oil on floor . Brake s squealing missing spare (which was the first and only thing they called me on immediately) funny because the key lock was as untouched and I had just replaced five tires. Tire on truck is under bed. Had to take truck to another shop because of urgency and timeframe that parker would fit me in. They made me feel I was in the wrong. The second shop removed rear tires and found 1/2 used pads. The oil pan had been hit with a impact on all bolts and I now had a cracked oil pan. Tested my master cylinder (remember brake flush) never changed. Call d and informed Parker and they said they wouldn't pay for repairs done by others. I had no option but to have my truck repaired by others and will never return. I understand there policy and am not suing them nor do I want any compensation, however, I will never let them touch the vehicle my daughter has to rely on so they can cover there end. read more

My 2007 Honda Fit is still running strong thanks to the maintenance service I have received from Parker Automotive. My last repair was for a motor mount that wore out due to age. The part was ordered and I made my service appointment within a couple of days of calling. I've never had to return to Parker to fix an error they made or replace a defective part. My only "complaint" is that they only allow use of 2 $25 reward certificates on a single visit. read more

Went to get my oil changed today. I dropped off my 2012 F150 with only 60K Miles on it. An hour after I dropped it off, someone calls me from the shop and says that some fluids need to be flushed.At 60K Miles, I need: Power Steering Fluid Flush(more about this in a minute) Radiator Fluid Flush Brake Fluid Flush Transmission Fluid Flush I ask the service advisor about the power steering fluid, he says "yeah, I am looking at the sample right now, and its quite dirty".Then I tell the service advisor, that my truck DOES NOT HAVE HYDRAULIC POWER STEERING!!! After an awkward pause, he puts me on hold and comes back a minute later to tell me that he has my sample panel mixed up with another vehicle and while I do not need a power steering service, after all, the other fluids are recommended to be changed. I told him no thanks and just change the oil. I go to pick up the truck at lunchtime, and the guy I have been doing business with for 6 years, greets me and rings me up. He says he heard about what happened, but still defended the guy's service recommendations. Apparently, even though Ford says my radiator fluid lasts 100K miles, this automotive center disagrees. Long story short, my neighbor is a good guy, but he is working for some crooks. I wonder how many people they have had in the past half-decade since electric-assist steering has become the norm. I will never be back to Parker Automotive on Speedway and Rosemont and I suggest no one else go there. read more

Everyone is really nice here. The lobby and restrooms are super nice also. They did not tell me I needed rotors like the previous automotive shop so my cost was less than expected. They also printed out all of the things my car needs and I was aware of all of them already so they did not try to suggest services that weren't needed. I definitely recommend Parker to anyone with an Acura because their lobby is honestly so nice and the bathrooms are nice too. I think their cost is a little less than some other places too but if not then definitely comparable. read more

The service here is excellent. You get better quality work for a fraction of the price of a dealership, and it typically comes with a warranty. I wouldn't take my car anywhere else in Tucson. I took my car in for a recall at Lexus and they told me that my front brakes were very low, and quoted me close to $700 and also warned me of a bad cabin filter. But that was all that they told me was going on with my car. Parker Automotive not only provided me with the same type of repair, but also did it in a timely manner and it was a joy to work with them. On top of everything else, there were a number of other things going on with my car that I wouldn't have known otherwise (my rear brakes were just as bad as the front, gas leaks, etc...) Car issues can be frustrating and costly but that doesn't mean that we shouldn't be grateful when we know about them so we can make a plan for the future. This is a zero pressure type of place, so the more you know the better. When all was said and done, the cherry on top was they washed my car before returning it back to me! 100% the place to go. I am very disappointed in Parker Automotive. They gave me a recommendation to to have my car detailed. I had an appointment but when I got there the place was locked up. I finally called and was told that the owner had to take another customer home. He showed up within minutes. This was 40 minutes later. When I told Parker all they did was make excuses for the owner. I felt like it was my fault that I thought this recommendation was a poor reflection on Parker Automotive and that I would not be asking them for recommendations in the future. I also had another negative experience with them. I had taken my car in to have a free oil change and it was suggested that I have some work done. The cost Parker quoted was much more. When I told about this I was told it was because they were going to flush out the fluids and replace all of them. I found out that on my model car these particular fluids should not be replaced. In fact replacing them could cause problems. read more

My mother has been going to Parkers for years for her Camry. I have brought my Civic in several times and they always do good, fairly priced work and it is always done on time and with a smile. This is a great place to bring your car. I recently went to Buck's and was screwed. Over $200 dollars for a battery and an oil change at Buck's with no inspection of any of the other systems in my car is resulting in $1600 worth of repairs from Parkers. I got a quote and was able to research and confirm I am getting all of my money's worth from Parkers. DO NOT go to Buck's. Parker's is great and I would recommend it to anyone. INCREDULOUS that this business found extra work to do on my son's truck yet did NOTHING re the fact that they admit there was no oil on the dipstick when they got it--from another mechanic who took it there, NOT from my son who never knew it was going to end up at Parker. He was confused when Parker called a few days after he had left his truck elsewhere and was told what it would cost to either get his truck repaired or to get it back after paying for diagnostics. His policemen brothers told him he had no obligation to Parker, but C. decided it needed to be fixed so let them. When it was to be ready (timing belt) they said they had found something else wrong so it wouldn't be ready until Monday. That day I went with C. because I was going to have to pay with my credit card--but they said they had found something more wrong so it would be a couple more days. I went to get it 2 days later and paid over $3k. About 2 months later I noticed oil JUGS in the recycling bin and C. told me his truck was going through oil. So I stopped in at Parker Automotive. Man there couldn't find the truck under either my name or my son's, but finally found it under the other mechanic's name. He then TOLD ME that when the truck was taken to them it had NO OIL on the dipstick! Yet besides the timing belt they found 2 OTHER problems they (supposedly) fixed while ignoring the lack of oil in the truck! So now C's truck is in much worse condition than when Parker had it and found OTHER work to do on it, and the guy at Parker blew me off totally when I pointed out the inequity of this. read more
