SANTA FE BBQ CHICKEN SANDWICH w fries

Loved the food and service. As a first meal, I didn't have a huge expectation however that's what blew it away. Thank you so much!

The atmosphere could be fun and I like that it wasn't a chain restaurant but the food is disappointing , dried out and flavorless. Fried asparagus- over fried and the ends weren't trimmed enough so the end of the stalks were hard to chew. Tri-tip sandwich- I don't know how you could mess this up but it was dried out, and flavorless . Thai peanut chicken kale salad- I omitted the parm bc the flavors didn't gel for me. The chicken was dried out and hard, some pieces I couldn't even cut with a knife. The dressing was extremely salty and terrible. Just bad. I should have sent it back. Steak salad- pretty sure the lettuce was bad. This one didn't sit well. Cajun fries- how can you mess this up?they were over seasoned and super salty. This is my second time here and both times it didn't hit the mark. Disappointing.

I really enjoy it here, and I'm looking forward to returning to sample more of their dishes. I ordered a straightforward skewer of grilled shrimp with butter. You get one complimentary side, and you can choose another premium side for an extra $6. The fries are reminiscent of Red Robin's, and they're quite tasty as well. (Steak fries). The service is excellent, and the ambiance is nice, not too loud, just right.

6oz Rib Eye Steak, Steak Fries, Corn Bread

Staying the night for work and saw Parkstone Wood Kitchen on Yelp. Saw that they have 3 1/2 stars but I wanted to check it out for myself. Was greeted immediately by the host and I asked if I could sit belly up at the bar. Nobody else was there so I figured I wouldn't be bothered or bother anyone else. I saw that the bar area was very unorganized and empty glasses and personal items. To me, it appeared that someone was in the middle of restocking inventory and left. Server was extremely friendly and I over heard another customer asking if he could clone him cause good help like that is har to find. Ordered the Rib Eye Steak (pictured) and was very pleased. Great flavor on the steak and the Steak Fries, which are my favorite type, were cooked just right. The cornbread was a little hard on the edges, and I read the same in another review.

After dropping off my in-laws at PDX it was time for dinner. Having never been here we gave it a try. It wasn't to crowded or noisy and we liked the menu. My wife liked her burger and my tri-tip sandwich was fine. The au-jus tasted like their french onion soup base, which wasn't too great. The cornbread was good, I shared and we both liked it. Our server was very good and attentive. Its a good spot to watch sports too.

HUMMUS TRIO - Quite the portion!!

Not a bad place for lunch or dinner. We were in town for a three day business trip (from Denver) and this place was a walking distance from our hotel. For that reason, it's a conveniently located. Spacious dining room. Is this a chain restaurant? Not sure but it's got that chain restaurant feel to it to some degree. Well, we were simply looking for some decent/quick food so the ambiance wasn't the most important thing anyway. On a cold Tuesday night, the restaurant was lively and yet it wasn't super busy. We were immediately sat in one of the booths. The menu has a good selection of food from appetizers to larger dishes. We decided to split everything between us so we went with.... 1) the Hummus trio - it's not the best kind of hummus and yet largely cut/sliced cucumber and tomato pieces were generously place in a large rectangular shaped plate along with the tri-colored hummus. Not a bad dish especially if you are splitting it with another person or two. 2) Grilled Fish Burger - this was also a decent dish. I forgot what kind of fish it was but it was well seasoned/cooked. The accompanying fries were also good. ***Our dishes came out fairly quickly. We enjoyed our waitress. She accommodated us for everything we wanted. Her attentiveness was top notch.

Brought my wife in for lunch. She loves the tacos they only offer at lunch. Service was great and it wasn't that busy so it was quiet. Overall we had a great lunch and it was even better company with my wife.

Good but not outstanding. Expensive but not unique. I came here with a friend who recommended it for lunch. The menu is big and kinda confusing. There is a lot with very little synthesis. I ended up getting shrimp and Brussel sprouts. I got maybe 10 shrimp. Had to take the tails off myself and got very buttery hands. The brussel sprouts were served in a dish full of liquid and they needed salt badly. I spent $28 with the tip on that plate. Didn't have any leftovers either. It feels like a clean Applebees with far less options. Service was good. Our server came back often to check on us. I don't think I would come back. Flavors were good but just not compelling enough.

    PS BBQ CHICKEN SALAD

My first time visiting Portland and Parkstone was our first stop. From the food, service and dining, we had a great experience. I tried the bbq chicken salad and was impressed with the flavor. I am not a huge bbq fan but this salad was delicious! I opted for the smaller version as I was told it was a generous portion. I definitely should've ordered the large instead especially with how good it was! The salad is very colorful with all of the right veggies and had a great flavor. I would definitely come back here and recommend it to others!

A very nice restaurant with a diverse menu. But mostly typical offerings like steaks, burgers, pizza and salads The food looks well prepared and the service is quick and efficient

    Great for large parties?

    No. It is too small.

What is the noise level...guy with hearing aids has problem with ambient noise?

Pretty loud. It's an open kitchen. If ambient noise is an issue I would look elsewhere or go at a time in between meal hours.

When I went back to the counter to ask how to start playing, the bartender told me it was $5 per person to access the games and that guests needed to consistently order drinks to maintain access. Honestly, that seemed fair to me. However, things quickly went downhill. I offered to pay the game fee, but was told I needed to buy drinks first. I explained we had just bought drinks--he had literally served us minutes earlier. His response: "You need to have an open tab, and we won't let you play unless you order more." At that point, the experience soured. The staff felt dismissive and unwelcoming throughout the interaction. Despite already spending money, we were denied access to what we came for. We finished our drinks--which, for some reason, didn't count--and left. This was my first visit, and unfortunately, likely my last. (This place had 5-star potential when I first arrived, but the staff interaction left miserable)

I had the lemon mint and the staff's expert coal management (coconut charcoals--the best) was precise and allowed the shisha to toast evenly and completely with absolutely no effort on our part. Very kind to the lungs, too. Hookah had a perfect long handled mouthpiece with several one-use interchangeable inserts for multiple users as one prefers. Firstly, I want to preface this by saying the one waitress they have tending the bar, tables, and everything else is amazing. She should not be doing all that on her own, and that's a lack of planning allowing that. She's friendly, helpful, and does what she can, but she's only one person. Secondly, the food is often way too oily. This can range from the appetizers, to some of the sandwiches/burgers, and even veggies. Lastly, I used to love coming here for the salads. They were fresh, large/filling, and full of toppings. Now? A $25+ salad with some added protein comes in a regular sized salad bowl you'd have in your home which is seemingly new with the recent change in management. Definitely not worth the price. I don't say all this to disparage the restaurant or employees. I want this place to succeed because I like the location, and think it's a fun spot to frequent. Changes are needed though if they're going to continue to charge the amount of money for the lengthy waits, and quality/quantity of the food being served.
