Place is overpriced. Waiter was too in our face, then I thought he left all together at some point, no middle ground. Removing a star. Met a friend here for a late lunch/early dinner on a Tuesday afternoon. She was coming from Clackamas, which makes Cascade Station a nice middle point for us both. Since we were meeting for our holiday get together, we wanted something with a more upscale and cozy vibe. I suggested ParkStone because the only other alternatives in the area didn't have the ambiance we were looking for. This restaurant is located in a large strip mall near IKEA, so there's plenty of parking. It can get busy on the weekends, especially during the holidays. It wasn't very busy when we arrived, which made it nice and quiet inside. I didn't smell that woodfire grill aroma when I walked in this time which was a slight bummer. Our server/host wasn't very welcoming or too friendly. He was all business. He did bring additional condiments we requested for our meals, but neglected to keep our water glasses full. We ordered the tri tip dip sandwich with fries, fish and chips, and the New York style cheesecake for dessert. The best thing about our meal was the deliciously creamy cheesecake! The tri tip was good, but my friend requested Swiss cheese to be melted on the beef and she got a crispy parmesan wafer?! It was super odd for the sandwich. It was something you'd find atop a Ceasar salad, not on a sandwich. The fries were cooked perfectly, but had no seasoning whatsoever. The fish and chips were disappointing. Only two small fish sticks for $20? Definitely pricey for what you get. They were cooked perfectly and not greasy at all which I liked, but flavorless. They could use some Old Bay seasoning in their batter. The Thai peanut coleslaw was yummy, but the pairing with fish was super odd. The jalapeño tartar sauce was horrible. It tasted like mayonnaise with sliced jalapeños and onions. Not appealing at all, and no distinct flavor. I ordered ranch dressing instead and that was way better. Definitely a disappointing meal, and not worth the money spent. The ambiance is nice inside, even festive, but until they can improve their flavors and portions to match their pricing, I will not be returning. They could use friendlier staff as well. The atmosphere could be fun and I like that it wasn't a chain restaurant but the food is disappointing , dried out and flavorless. Fried asparagus- over fried and the ends weren't trimmed enough so the end of the stalks were hard to chew. Tri-tip sandwich- I don't know how you could mess this up but it was dried out, and flavorless . Thai peanut chicken kale salad- I omitted the parm bc the flavors didn't gel for me. The chicken was dried out and hard, some pieces I couldn't even cut with a knife. The dressing was extremely salty and terrible. Just bad. I should have sent it back. Steak salad- pretty sure the lettuce was bad. This one didn't sit well. Cajun fries- how can you mess this up?they were over seasoned and super salty. Staying the night for work and saw Parkstone Wood Kitchen on Yelp. Saw that they have 3 1/2 stars but I wanted to check it out for myself. Was greeted immediately by the host and I asked if I could sit belly up at the bar. Nobody else was there so I figured I wouldn't be bothered or bother anyone else. I saw that the bar area was very unorganized and empty glasses and personal items. To me, it appeared that someone was in the middle of restocking inventory and left. Server was extremely friendly and I over heard another customer asking if he could clone him cause good help like that is har to find. Ordered the Rib Eye Steak (pictured) and was very pleased. After dropping off my in-laws at PDX it was time for dinner. Having never been here we gave it a try. It wasn't to crowded or noisy and we liked the menu. My wife liked her burger and my tri-tip sandwich was fine. The au-jus tasted like their french onion soup base, which wasn't too great. The cornbread was good, I shared and we both liked it. Not a bad place for lunch or dinner. We were in town for a three day business trip (from Denver) and this place was a walking distance from our hotel. For that reason, it's a conveniently located. Spacious dining room. Is this a chain restaurant? Not sure but it's got that chain restaurant feel to it to some degree. Well, we were simply looking for some decent/quick food so the ambiance wasn't the most important thing anyway. On a cold Tuesday night, the restaurant was lively and yet it wasn't super busy. We were immediately sat in one of the booths. The menu has a good selection of food from appetizers to larger dishes. We decided to split everything between us so we went with.... 1) the Hummus trio - it's not the best kind of hummus and yet largely cut/sliced cucumber and tomato pieces were generously place in a large rectangular shaped plate along with the tri-colored hummus. Not a bad dish especially if you are splitting it with another person or two. 2) Grilled Fish Burger - this was also a decent dish. I forgot what kind of fish it was but it was well seasoned/cooked. I ended up getting shrimp and Brussel sprouts. I got maybe 10 shrimp. Had to take the tails off myself and got very buttery hands. The brussel sprouts were served in a dish full of liquid and they needed salt badly. I spent $28 with the tip on that plate. Didn't have any leftovers either. It feels like a clean Applebees with far less options. Service was good. Our server came back often to check on us. I don't think I would come back. My co worker was going to move to the table next to us which was empty, just to use the coupon. Finally, the manager came and said we could use both coupons. The food was not what I remembered from my first visit. This time, it was ok at best. We were both somewhat disappointed. I ordered the steak. The steak was burned. I ordered medium . The manager came and asked how things were going. I told him the steak was burned. He just said, "ohhhhhhh" and walked away, lol. Not cool. The server btw, only came to check on us... well, never. Anyway, the calamari was the bomb!!!! Very good and soft! Maybe they were just having a bad day. But again, it wasn't crowded. I'm giving 2 stars because my coworker told me to. Very nice atmosphere! I ordered baby back ribs with a Ceasar salad and French onion soup. Surprisingly they brought out the ribs before the salad or soup! I found this a bit surprising. I mentioned this to the waiter and they said they would bring out the salad , which they did but the ribs sat in front of me. I ate the salad and then the soup and mentioned to the waiter that the ribs were now cold. He took them back to the kitchen and they threw them on the grill to reheat them but the bbq sauce was now obviously much darker and charred. The Manager AME out and asked me about it after I asked them to remake the ribs as I explained the salad should have come out first , followed by the soup and then the ribs. My bill came and the Manager brought the bill and said he " deducted " the ribs because they charged me twice. Interesting he deducted the ribs but recharged me $2 more for the second set of ribs. Here is my update: Came alone for an early Thursday dinner. Not busy tonight. Server was Desarae K and she did a WONDERFUL job! Friendly, attentive, prompt, and even got my order right! Wanted to try more things so I ordered their wood fired grill combo that lets you pick two of the wood fired grill options. Chose the tri-tip steak and the grilled shrimp. Steak was cooked to perfection this time. Could have had more seasoning though. Grilled shrimp was my favorite item. Good size, came on a skewer, and were seasoned just right! Got the cornbread again, it was good but wished it had jalapeños inside, that would have taken to the next level! Mac n cheese was good but not great. Could have had more seasoning as well. Ordered the chocolate cake and it was pretty good too. This place has very reasonable prices and for the price the quality of food is pretty good. Not a high end steak but you are not paying for a high end steak. Service issues seem to be resolved, glad I gave them another try. read more

We arrived at 4:55 Tuesday Oct 21. The bar area looked busy but no one was sitting in the booths on the other side of the bar. The host sat us in the busier section of the bar. When I asked about the less busy area, he said they don't open that section until they start dinner service. As we're looking at the menu at 5:05 another couple walked in and were seated in the less busy section where we asked to be seated. I ordered the ribs with a side of fries and their cole slaw. The fries are AMAZING! The ribs were so tough, I had to saw them apart with a steak knife. If the server knows they have items on the menu they can't execute well, they should steer the customer away from those items. No where in their name or on their menu, do they have anything "Asian inspired". Yet they have a Thai Peanut Cole Slaw out of nowhere. It arrived at the table looking brown. The bartender who is a really nice Hispanic guy did a great job. He is awesome. We split the chicken breast and tri dip combo entree with cornbread and streak fries. The portions are super small. The food taste really good. But wth is wrong with the chef there!!! They say they give you a chicken breast. I am like wth. The chicken breast they give you is like as thin as a cracker!!! It's basically 1/16 of a chicken breast. It's a freaking rip off!! $62.00 for 4beers and bs chicken and tri tip entree. I seriously wanted to go ask the freaking chef how he gets off serving such a small thin lame piece of chicken breast and actually calling it a serving of chicken breast. I know what it is. They want to give you as little as possible so they can charge you $27.00 for the entree of tri tip, lame cracker thin chicken breast, corn bread and fries. This saves them in food costs thus, charging the customer for so little portions. I don't think I will come back here. If I do, I am gonna think twice about my last experience I had there. I stopped here as a last minute decision and I regret it. There were only a few customers seated when I got there and our server acted as though he was bothered by us as we ordered. We stuck with just water which felt like forever to receive a refill for and ordered food. The food was terrible, oddly portioned compared to the photos provided on here, and the broccoli wasn't fully cooked but somehow the zucchini was overcooked with machine like grill marks on it. Unfortunately, the bathroom situation was no better. It was dirty with water and soap all over the sink, the faucet felt grimy when I turned on the water, and it was faucet was corroded. We were going to check in at a hotel nearby and thought we would get a bite. We settled on the Red Robin but the lobby (after we were told it would be 20 minutes) was a sh** show nowhere to sit, etc. We went out to the car to wait and when we were walking back I noticed this restaurant across the street. I had noticed this building before but always thought it was a furniture store and never really looked any further. As far as eateries this large mall has few. I mentioned to the YS that maybe we go there. There was a line but not near the crazy that they had going at the RR. We got seated and ordered. I gather this place has southern roots from some of the offerings. Nice place not too loud considering the large open concept they have. We order the appetizer cornbread and there was plenty to take for breakfast the following morning. Very good and not low calorie. Haha. Reviews seem mixed for this place but I've always had a good meal and experience here. Comfy booths and good service. Plenty of TVs to catch a game while you're munching. I really like the tri-tip dip sandwich here with horseradish on the side. I also like the brussel sprouts here. Tried the house/side salad with my meal this time and liked it as well. Kids meal comes with an ice cream sundae for dessert. We usually stop here if we need some lunch after coming from the airport- and I will continue to do so. My husband requested a beer and they were out of the first three, but finally the fourth option he selected was not out. French dip sandwich was fine, Thai salad very spicy. Ribs were very dry and inedible, and outrageous to charge so much for it. the most edible part of the meal was the corn on the cob. They appeared short staffed with a few servers trying their best.
