I went to Famous Dave's with three other people. I thought the food was average for a chain restaurant. The restaurant appeared clean. At first, we were seated in the regular dining area and then we asked about happy hour so we moved to the bar area. Patricia J was the server. At first, I thought she was great. As time went on, I thought she was good and by the end of my time there, I don't think she needs to be in the service industry. I placed my order and was clear that I wanted traditional buffalo wings. As my party's food was coming out, I was told that the kitchen messed up and made my wings boneless instead of traditional. This means my party had their food and I got half my food and had a longer wait for the other half of my food. Additionally, Patricia kept forgetting to bring us the things we asked for such as bbq sauce to go and straws. She was slow at times. When I got my check, I noticed I was not charged for the wings and the receipt listed that I complained. I thought it was a nice gesture that they comped the wings because I had to wait. So I gave Patricia my credit card and when she brought me my receipt, I was charged $16 instead of the $7.50 that was on my receipt when she gave it to me. That's a bait and switch and I will never patronize any Famous Dave's again. The correct thing to do would have been to explain that she was going to charge me more before she did so. I was with other people so I didn't make a scene, but what Patricia did was dirty and if I was her manager, I'd fire her. I have been to this famous Dave's a few times, but not in the last 10 years. They did not disappoint. We came in at 9 o'clock and they were closing at 10, but we're still able to service and get us our food. I took pictures of the decorations around the restaurant. It's a fun place to sit and just check out what's on the walls. I always go for the burnt ends platter as it never disappoints with the sweet corn and mac & cheese. I've only heard of Famous Dave's as the bbq sauce found in stores. Their food was delicious. When they say bbq is known here, they got it right. The table is set up with 3 their famous hot sauces. I would recommend the rich and sassy for the classic taste! Make sure you go during lunch hour to get a good deal. 12-4pm They only thing I was disappointed in was the server, she was pretty slow. We arrived at table and she took 15 minutes to take our order. We wanted the lunch special, gladly she came at 359. We also told her we had a flight, but she was very slow with our check. After shopping around at Cascade Station, we came here for an early dinner. As soon as we entered, we were greeted by the host and seated quickly. Our server introduced herself (sorry, but I don't remember her name), and took our drink orders and she nicely explained some of the items on the menu. I called the Tualatin Famous Dave's from where Doordash delvers the ribs to me. The manager (who shall remain anonymous) immediately got defensive and claimed I was yelling at her when I tried to explain the problem. Odd, because when I accidentally called the Famous Dave's at the airport, the manager there was super helpful and apologetic, offering to send me a gift coupon, that when we should come into the restaurant he would make sure to comp a meal for us. The manager at the Tualatin Famous Dave's claimed to have been there for 17 years. One would think after that length of time, it would be a simple thing to validate the customer and apologize. I didn't want anything at all, just to ask the restaurant what on earth had happened. I will no longer order from this venue. I can no longer recommend Famous Dave's which is a shame. read more

Decent BBQ spot in Portland when you want bbq quick. There's never usually a wait and the food comes out fairly quickly. That's about as good as it gets though. Meat is never hot but they've got 4 different bbq sauces to choose from. I so wish they had beef ribs, haven't been able to find a spot with beef ribs yet BUT I WILL! I really enjoy the brisket burnt ends and the corn muffin. And that Wilbur's revenge is pretty nice. All the other meats are just kinda decent though. Very backyard bbq kinda vibes here. Everything was cooked well, but the BBQ Texas brisket, the reason this native Texan wanted to visit, was the worst brisket I had ever tasted. It was cooked through well and the presentation was nice. But the quality of meat was that of a sponge. No brisket should ever look like a sponge. Even gas station brisket (Rudy's or Buccee's) in Texas is leagues away from what I was served. After getting snubbed by another "Gourmet Burgers & Brews" spot just a few spots down the block, we ventured down to Famous Daves, and what a great experience it was! We were greeted and seated quickly and politely. The environment was clean and energetic. After looking over a well composed menu, our server "Famous Julie" happily greeted us and took our order for drinks, apps, and dinner. She provided some great input on menu selections which proved as great selections for our meal. Famous Julie returned with drinks which was quickly followed up with our apps that came out hot and delicious as well. Dinner proved to be just as delicious and appetizing as well. Portions were very impressive and well prepared. We had the 2 meat combo, BBQ pork tacos, a bacon pulled pork burger, and pulled port sandwich w/ Mac n Cheese. As travelers from out of the area, we would recommend this wonderful establishement 1000% again. The beverages for adults and kids were kept topped off, and customer service was outstanding. Our sever Famous Julie, was top notch, even after being called in to fill in when they were short staffed after being slow all day and a very busy evening dinner rush. Never have I ever been treated the way I was treated tonight. We have come here at least once a month for YEARS. My kid loves it here. The hostess was absolutely squirrelly, vapid and rude. Half the restaurant was empty, and she walked us on the most cumbersome path to the table right at the kitchen exit. If our travels there were any indication, the traffic would be non-stop. We stood waiting for three servers to give food to the various tables in our path. Normally, the table would be totally fine if the restaurant were busy and there weren't at least 12 other options. But it wasn't. We politely asked for a different table, and we were met with a rude tone and "We seat according to servers." No, really? Like every other restaurant? Do the servers not want more money? Because it wasn't busy. She literally left us standing there and walked off. We stood there for a good 3 minutes not knowing what the heck was going on. We were confused. It was a reasonable request. We didn't see her talk to any of the servers, she just went to the 20-something-year-old manager, who gave the same response about tables and servers (of which there were at least 5 in the main dining area, but remember: lots of empty tables). He rudely asked a female server with a sarcastic tone if she'd "take us on" in front of us, and she said it wasn't a problem. The manager said, "If you didn't want to sit there you should've talked to the hostess." I said, "that's exactly what we did, but it's kind of hard to talk to someone that runs away, and now you're here." His response was, "Just sit, just sit down." This is terrible management. You don't ask a server if it's okay to seat a party at an empty table. If someone else came in and it was the last table, would you say, "sorry, we're too busy." No, you'd seat them and expect them to be patient. We got up, went to Park Stone literally steps away instead (which has BBQ!), were seated immediately, got drinks within 2 minutes, calamari in 5, and we are all happy. And never going back here. Ever. I'd rather support a small business that doesn't have shitty service. Cheers, Famous Dave's. You officially suck. I had given Famous Dave's an hour ... and the appointed time passes. Ten minutes after (6:10), I go in, and wait in line to speak with the lady behind the counter. It's 21-minutes (6:21) before she goes to tract down our order. Oh, my dinner has been waiting in the kitchen since 19-minutes before the hour (5:41). Bad enough, but when I asked why Famous Dave's didn't bring it out when, through the app, I told them that I was waiting, her response was "Oh, yah. Sorry." But wait, there's more. After returning to our hotel, one of the dinners ordered was the BBQ Sassy Salad, with Brisket, no tomatoes. No Tomatoes, look, it's right there on the receipt. Gosh, the reviews are all over the place on here but we were in the mood for barbecue so decided to Famous Dave's a try. Last week, we went to a BBQ place in Prineville which was a huge disappointment. I love salmon but after my Prineville experience, I was really nervous about ordering it again. Anywhere! But our waitress, Patricia, was very helpful and personable. When I asked about "how popular" their salmon was, she rolled her eyes, and as a connoisseur herself, said it was amazing. "It's not dry then?"(I had to ask!) Then she told us how it was made. As soon as she said it was cooked on a cedar plank, I closed the menu. It was the best I've ever had! Hubby enjoyed the Country Roasted Chicken. They had a good variety of sides. Everything was delicious! Ambiance: Decor was fun and what you expect for a BBQ place.
