After reading the reviews, we decided to give Parma another shot. We had visited shortly after they opened a few years ago, but had not been back. No reason other than we sort of forgot about it. We walked in right behind a table of five. We could have been seated immediately at one of the high top tables, but being a short person, I really can't stand that type of table so we opted to wait for a booth. Walked up to the bar and were greeted immediately. Hubby ordered a beer and I got the Dougie Fresh. It was a refreshing drink although I couldn't really taste the vodka in it. I like my drinks strong. It makes me think about the fact that I am drinking and I feel like I tend not to over drink...my logic. We did not have to wait long for the booth which was nice. We had a little trouble reading the menu...old eyes and dark room, but I had already gotten an idea of what I wanted from their website. We sat there quite a while waiting for a server to acknowledge us. Okay, I had heard the waitstaff was flaky, so I wasn't surprised but hubby was getting antsy. He was able to catch the attention of the hostess who then located our server. From then on the service was pretty good. Hubby got the chicken parmesan and I ordered the chopped mozzamato salad. We also ordered the spinach artichoke fondue. It was good, but like an earlier reviewer, I would prefer with baguette or pita instead of tortilla chips. Hubby was very pleased with the Parmesan chick and my salad was sooooo delicious. All of the different textures and flavors in it were just what I wanted. We were close enough to the kitchen and the service window that we could see the quality control guy doing his job. that was comforting. it was further comforting that I witnessed him reject something. Its nice to see someone dedicated to the task of making sure the food is up to par. We had another drink from the bar...hubby with his beer, but this time I ordered a Crown and ginger. Lawsy, that girl made it just like I do at home...pour the Crown over ice and wave some ginger ale near it! Very yummy. Dinner was finished and hubby decided we needed to see the dessert menu. We decided on the caramel cake to go. When the server brought it to us, she put it in the bag with the leftovers we were taking. Right before we left the table we looked at it and were amazed at its tiny-ness. Seriously, you know when you have the obligatory birthday cake at the office and ask for only a sliver since you just ate way more than you would normally for lunch and you just can't cram anything else in your mouth? It was about that size. $6. I mean its not even enough to share. Won't go that route again. All in all, driving past a sea of boring chain restaurants, finding Parma close enough to home to feel like its your neighborhood place, makes me think this will be our new go-to for a nice dinner when we just can't eat another burrito, sub sandwich, or hot wing. Give them a try. The prices aren't crazy and the taste is definitely good. read more

Went here for a Sunday dinner with my family and I got surprise . Everything was amazing nice place, great service and the food was great . We order the Italian tacos for appetizer and they were delicious great flavor , and for main course my husband order the Krispy kream burger and was GREAT he loved it I was like let me try it and I was like Omg this is good. Went here for the first time for lunch, based upon someone's suggestion. We LOVED it! Their egg plant chips and dip under snack section of menu was awesome! We had a second order they were so good. Lightly breaded and fried with awesome spicy mayonnaise based sauce with a kick. We both had an Italian noodle dish one with chicken and mushrooms and Marsala wine cream sauce and the other was a marinara based dish with curly pasta and mushrooms and tomato based sauce. Both were awesome! Gotta go their for lunch easy to get in and out close to mall of Georgia! Fantastic. All their stuff is hand made and it tastes like it. Including their pizza dough. read more

I've been going to Parma for years now. After college, I moved home for a year and Parma was the only "cool" spot for my friends and I to go when we wanted to socialize, eat good food and have some beers - and it wasn't Chilis (thank gosh). I live in Atlanta now, but when I come see my parents, I'm always excited to visit my old watering hole for a couple late-night drinks. It's always been a great spot when you couldn't always make it down to Atlanta for an urban dining experience. It's an awesome alternative and I was happy to have that in my home town. Last night was my first negative experience with Parma and it sucks to have to say that. My friend and I sat at the bar for the first time and had the cutest, sweetest bartender (Amy, I believe). We stuck around for a few hours and then finally grabbed our tab and handed her our cards. Soon after she lets up know that their system was down and it would be a second. We didn't mind, we were happy to wait. 20 minutes went by. 30 minutes went by. I could see her scrambling with the computer, on the phone and attempting to run our cards to no avail. She finally came back, let us know the systems weren't working at all and asked if we were okay to just leave our CC info and for it to be charged tomorrow. My friend and I weren't okay with that. We told her that and she explained that if we didn't, she would be responsible for our tabs. Now, I'm in the industry as well. I work at a pretty high speed, fine restaurant Atlanta and knew that our management would never allow an employee to cover tabs because THEIR system failed. I felt awful for her. An employee should NEVER be responsible for a system malfunction out of their control. As a result of her company putting her in a tough and awkward situation, the same company put us (THEIR PAYING CUSTOMERS) in a tough and awkward situation. Of course I wasn't going to let her cover our tabs and as a result, we hesitantly and reluctantly let her write down our credit card info. She handled the situation extremely well and it's Parma regulations and rules I'm not happy with. You should never treat an employee like that and you should NEVER let that terrible treatment fall back on the customer EVER. We were put in a very awkward situation where we were guilted into leaving our private information because of the terrible rules of Parma and because we didn't want to screw a hard working server who already depends on ever penny and dime she makes. Extremely disappointment with Parma. This is in no way a bad review for the service. The service was AMAZING and our bartender was the sweetest. Parma shouldn't treat their employees so poorly and then allow that to affect the paying customer. It's a shame. Such a good food and drink spot to have such dissatisfying regulations and policies. read more

Maybe we went on an off night, but I thought the food was terrible. I consider myself a mediocre chef at best, and I like my cooking better than the food here. From reading the menu, I thought this sounded like casual fine dining. That's not the case. It's bar food, and I've had better bar food. Everything tasted incredibly generic. We had the mac & cheese app, house salads, crab ravioli and my friend ordered some other pasta dish. All were equally unremarkable. Not to mention our appetizer came out and within sixty seconds our waitress brought our main dishes, then apologized and said she was sorry the kitchen was running fast and our salads would be out shortly. I'm rating on the quality of food alone....everything else was just ok. We went on a Thursday night with no kiddos so I guess you could call this date night. From the moment we walked in the place was so loud I couldn't hear myself think. Full of loud mouthed bar groupies. We waited for a table a short time and while waiting I noticed there were only two servers working the entire restaurant. Surprisingly the service was ok. Not long after we sat down the Parma sponsored softball team walked in and it all went down hill noise wise. A couple of those meatheads were yelling and screaming like they own the place. Yelling at the bartender, the others at the table sitting across from them. Maybe they were hard of hearing I don't know but they sure made it known they were there. Let's talk about the food....spinach and artichoke dip was outstanding. I had the parmesan crusted chicken which was awesome and the wife had the carbonara which was a special for June. It was really good as well. This is a great place to hang after work or with a group on an impromtu weekend night out but date night, no. If the softball team is there turn around and walk out. Below mediocre when it comes to food and bad service. This is more of a bar rather than a restaurant. It's very loud. We ordered artichoke dip for appetizer and it resembled the typical bar dip. Then we had penne and pizza for dinner. Also below average. Definitely not worth the price. I guess this place is ok if you are looking for causal place to drink with buddies. They had live music as of 10pm (nn Saturday). The ambiance wouldn't please families or couples looking for good food and mellow atmosphere. Our server was very inattentive, constantly chatting with coworkers and others. We waited for 5 min until she came to take our order once she brought drinks. We had to gesture for her to come over, otherwise it might have been longer. The same thing happened with when we finished our meal and wanted to order desert. Then she forgot to bring the dessert menu while talking and laughing with somebody just few feet away from us. We ended up not ordering desert and left. Very disappointing. read more

I made a visit back to Parma after my 2nd bad experience in a row. I figured I would give them another chance since I have been going to this establishment since 2008. My waitress was very accommodating this visit and they gave me a $25 gift card to try another pizza, problem was I still had to pay $10 on top of the gift card because I built my own pizza and I asked for extra cheese and they up charged me for the extra cheese another 3 dollars on top of the up charges for the toppings. With all this being said I've decided to update my original review and say that my server was awesome but the pizza wasn't worth $34 for a large. We had 4 toppings and extra cheese, I won't be going back to Parma for a while it's just a little outlandish to pay $34 dollars for a large pizza. Especially when they don't put enough cheese on the pizza when you order it as is off the menu... read more

Went for a take out Pizza. Great Pizza, even better service. Grant was my host and was super funny and nice and got my order in quickly. Would recommend this restaurant for a night out or just for a quick bite, if you get Grant as your host consider yourself lucky- he's the best. 10/10 experience, Will go back to Parma again! read more

Very original, varied, inventive menu. I had the eggplant chips with tomato aoli and crispy Brussels sprouts with bacon and balsamic glaze. Delicious! We decided to try this restaurant after the Rave reviews posted on Yelp and was unfortunately disappointed. Entered and was told 20 min. wait no problem we stood behind the packed bar about 3 min later a couple stood to the left of us another min after a couple also waiting to the right of us. The Bartender offered couple to right drink gave them their drinks then next offered couple to left drinks and gave them their drink . We continued to stand there waiting to see if we would be offered the same ; made eye contact with Bartender several times needless to say no Offer. We felt very slighted and offended but guess it was clear our business or money was not accepted. Asked for Manager and the usual made excuses "typical". Well my money is green and has the same value. We walked out and went elsewhere really sad that in 2016 this is America! read more
