First time having Honduran food, but felt it was similar to Colombian or Venezuelan because of the Pupusas that are similar to Arepas. The way that they made the Carne Asada was probably one of the best I have ever had. It was little charred on the outside but still juicy and tender in the middle. After I gave the server our credit card, she took our itemized bill. I asked if the gratuity was included in the bill. She answered no so I tipped her accordingly. My wife is Honduran and we were both enjoyed the food and the feel of the place. Quality authentic Honduran menu with good prices. The pupusas are as good as any I've had in Honduras and the frescos naturales are excellent. The baleadas are large and very filling although the queso is a little overwhelming. The place is clean and the staff is friendly but the service is extremely slow (not a surprise being a Honduran restaurant). This is a nice place for a lazy weekend brunch. read more

A couple of years have passed since my last full stars review and I'm sad to say that things have changed. A few months back, they doubled de size of the restaurant but i think the kitchen is still the same size as before, food is taking twice the time as before to come out and some items are almost cold when reaching the table. We got burned black and cold "carne asada" and they keep forgetting to put in the plate an item or two offered in the menu. Loved this place! My husband and I had the Carne Asada Especial and it was super delicious. The meat was tender and seasoned just right. There was so much food we did not have room for dessert. Love the carne asada. I lost count of how many times I have had this dish. It comes with two sides. I am not a huge fan of coleslaw; however, I like theirs a lot. It must be the fresh-lime taste. As a matter of fact I always sent people here because to me this was the best honduran restaurant until a few weeks ago that I went to have dinner with friends but sadly in my eggs there was a small roach. Inmediately I told the waitress and she seem very embarassed. After that I just order something different but off course I was disgusted about that fact. I will never go back there. Honduran food is pretty yummy especially their baleadas and I love their honduran tacos and tajadas con carne...I gotta say this place has good food! plentiful and very good prices!! I tried their carne asada which was cooked to perfection, it came with a really delicious cabbage salad, rice, fried beans, honduran style cheese, maduros and two soft hand made tortillas...all for just 9 bucks, they also had good service and nice welcoming decor, the only draw back was a bit of a wait for the food to arrive... i'll definately be returning =) read more

Came here because I heard good things. I ordered a seafood soup (sopa de mariscos) and it was horrible! Soup was very watered down, seafood was not fresh, and when I complained and asked to switch it for something else.. The manager (LESTER) refused. He also admitted that the seafood they use is not fresh. Lesson of the day, if you want seafood or ceviche this is not the place to go! I never dined in paseo catracho, I would always have them deliver ( mind you they take over 2 hours and when you finally get your food ITS COLD) or I would go pick it up . Well a few days ago my husband and I decided to dine in the restaurant and it was by far the worst experience I have had in a restaurant. We sat down and it was about 10 mins before the waitress came to ask us what we wanted to drink and right off the bat we told her what we wanted to eat so it could be much quicker. Well the complete opposite happened. We noticed that we had been there for about 30 mins and the 2 glasses of water we had asked for was not even brought to us. When I went to speak to someone in the back where the cashier is , I noticed the waitress was next to me and I told her what the issue was and all she said was "I'll be right with you " ( in Spanish of course ). This is a real good Honduran restaurant, the best I have tried in Miami. When I first moved to Miami 2 years ago it took me a long time to find good baleadas. My 2 favorite dishes are baleadas and carne asada con tajadas (ceibeño). I just wish they were more consistent with my take-out orders (which are 2 or 3 times per week), and that they had a better costumer service. Sometimes they forget to include ingredients in my baleadas. I complained to the cashier about it today, and her reply was that her job was to only charge for the food and that I have to open my containers to make sure my baleadas have everything I ordered. Like I was going to touch my food with my unwashed hands. I came home to find that they were missing scrambled eggs... ugh. I wish the owner reads this review, I can give you more details. I only like to take-out because the ambience of the restaurant is so dark and it doesn't look clean, but again, the food is really good. I'm giving it 3 stars because of the costumer service. Walking around from the parking lot I was a little intimated by the neighborhood but once I got inside I was really impressed. Cute sombrero hat lighting and comfortable, old world style booths made me feel right at home. The waiter was polite and attentive however I don't think he spoke English (I speak broken Spanish) so we were just fine. We ordered horchata to drink and it was AMAZING! Super refreshing, sweet, and according to my Honduran friend just like how her mom makes it. Next we had the carne huevo baleada which I have to say was the most delicious thing I've eaten since I moved down to South Florida! The carne asada was perfect, not even slightly chewy, with a yummy roasted flavor. The cheese was plentiful, as was the sweet cream and beans. I was so in love with my plate that I ordered another one to go. In total me and my fiancé ordered a carne&huevo baleada a tres leches cake and horchata for $15. "Another missed opportunity in Calle Ocho." I' ve heard good things about this Honduran resto and I've decided to give it a try in a rainy day like today. From the start the waiter (a young effeminate chubby guy) made me feel unwelcome, as if he wanted to kick me out of the plaxe. Are there any Jim Crow restrictions in the BRSF for a proud Itallan-American like myself? If so, please advise me or better still, put up a big sign at the door.. He grudgingly explained a few choices and I decided to place a safe bet on the chicken tacos and the cole slaw salad. Before he left I asked him to please (I make a poin oif being polite even with deadbeats like this one) bring me some bread and he did not respond. After fifteen minutes of waiting for the bread ( and asking him two times more for the same) I got up and went to the cashier, "Are you the manager?" I asked in Spanish. Without waiting for an answer that was slow in coming, I added: "I' d like some bread. May I have some?" He still did not care to answer me but a lady next to him said: "We don't carry bread but would you like some chips instead? " I responded: "of course, thanks. " The effeminate guy dared to interject that since I had ordered tacos , I was not supposed to have more carbohydrates. I was literally stunned. Who might he be?A maniacal dietician moonlightning as a server? An avenger for obese people in the BRSF? Holy Mackerel! To make a long story short: the food tray was eventually slammed down on my table by the delicate guy who kept showing me his worst wordless image, surely to impress me.. The food was well presented, savoury and with fresh ingredients. The price was reasonable too.I only left a miserly tip (on purpose) Sadly enough I could not help feeling humiliated by those standofish attitudes towards "the different." WISE UP. I am only giving a 3 star review due to the lack of respect that was given to us. The food is ALWAYS amazing. It never fails and over all the customer service isn't bad. But there is one thing that IRKED my nerves so badly, it left me no choice but to speak my mind. When it came time to pay the bill my bill was $30 i handed the waiter $40.00 two $20 bill. He was young man with wings tattoo on hes neck. He was very nice and attentive waiter but this is something that needs to be address. Once he takes the money this young man NEVER brought back ANY CHANGE. I'm just here thinking the whole time this man just finessed me. Obviously, as a lot of us would do as well. we are not going to ask for the change after the waiter is already cleaning tables around us and acting like he was allowed to keep all our change. That's pretty embarrassing to ask. But he honestly pocked 27% tip with hes little scheme on a $30 bill. Incredible!!! Customers please make sure waiters do not take advantage of the situation. Ask for your change back! i guess this a new thing that we have to state for change back directly to their faces. After having an amazing dinner it sadly had to end not so amazing. Really great food! From the outside, you wouldn't think so. The decor is a bit odd, with random tid bits they found that is meant to make it look Honduran. Anyways, the service was okay. I do not speak spanish, but our waiter did not speak english which was a little bit of an issue. Luckily we had a spanish speaking person in our group to be the translator. Aside from that, our waiter was not very attentive. It took about 30 minutes for a refill on a glass of water! She was also kind of rude, like we didn't rxist to her because we don't speak spanish. I do feel like we just had an incompetent waiter, because someone ( I think he was a manager's son or something?) Would walk around and ask if everything was ok. Anyways, I ordered the steak which was so flavorful!! It had more salt then I am used to, but it was still good. The portions are SO big considering you only pay $8 for a meal. The delivery arrived 2 hours laters and cold!! I live 4 blocks away but I had my kids and didn't want to make them walk

The food was not good. Which it was unusual since we go there for baleadas and cebeno dish all the time. This was in the evening. When we enter a blonde waiter notice us but didn't say anything and walked to the cashier so we walked to a table to the new side which a different server greeted us nicely and relocated us since that side was closed. The food took long to be served. The meat was dry and no sour cream added to the 3 baleadas. Our server was washing dishes for too long. We were looking at her but couldn't make eye contact. I got up and asked the young lady (black hair, Mexican or Guatemalan looking) to please call our server. She instead offered to help while she was counting the cashier. We waited and 2 minutes later she was still at the cashier then she told our waiter that we needed sour cream for the baleadas at this time is useless. Our waiter brought the bill and to our surprise we were been charged for the 3rd driest baleada even thought it was not eaten. Our server said if you would like it to be remove from the bill then you can speak to the manager. Its obvious there an issue with the kitchen cook and customer service. Also, what is this about gratitude been added on a table of 4. This place has no kindness for their customers.
