    Bread Pudding

Passion Fish was decent. The brussel sprouts, blackened mahi mahi and bread pudding were all good. The spiced tandoori salmon was not authentic enough. The flavors did not live up to the taste of indian food. It needed more spices and the rice and black lentils aka daal underneath was bland as was the green chutney. It was toned down to be less bold, less flavorful and not as spicy which doesn't do justice to indian food and what its know for. The only thing about the dish that was good was the was it was plated with a papad sticking up off the plate. Overall the experience was ok. We went for lunch and the other food we ordered was decent. I wouldn't say anything there was extraordinary or very unique. The interior was nice and most of the staff were friendly.

I came back here after more than a year of hiatus and was pleasantly surprised to find that the food quality is still excellent as before. Also, the service is very good and at least this time the place did not get very loud so that it was easy enough to carry on a conversation with the group that I was there with. The beet salad was meager, but good. The halibut was very good and the coconut ice cream was delicious..

Crispy Buttermilk Fried Calamari and PassionFish Roll*

A first time customer to this restaurant in Reston and kind of disappointed with the service. Felt pretty biased by the female server who served our table. We realized we were pretty casually dressed and weren't there to eat a whole lot of food. So, we simply got the Passion Fish Roll (Raw Sushi BTW), a Crispy Buttermilk Fried Calamari, a Rockfish, a side of Sweet Potato Fries and Mac & Cheese. For our drinks, got a couple of Rum & Cokes and a Shirley Temple. The ambiance was pleasant for the most part, as we enjoyed the conversations and the food when each of the plates came out. Just that the service was kind of bias and rude. We could all feel that the waitress was kind of in a bad mood, maybe expecting us to order more dishes and drinks. Anyhow, we noticed the portions were kind of on the smaller side compared to the prices. But taste-wise, everything was pretty good. The Rum and Cokes were fine, a little pricey, but decent. Another thing we observed was that the server never asked us if we wanted more refills or dessert. After she saw that we were done with our food, she simply put the check on the table and that was that. We were full, but we still wanted more bread and drinks, so not sure why she felt like we were going to leave and ready to pay when we didn't even ask for the check, yet. Kind of rude and inconsiderate of her towards the customers, no??? We had to open a new tab after paying for the main one since she thought we were going to leave right away after having our entrees...

I said I would be going back to this amazing restaurant and I did 2 1/2 weeks later. It was even better this time I started off my meal with a white cosmopolitan which was made to perfection. Then once I got to my table, the complementary cinnamon donut bread with creamy spread was to die for. Of course you know I had to get charbroiled oysters once again and they were amazing. I also got the shrimp spring rolls and they came with a spicy sauce. that had just the right amount of kick. My dining companion did the $35 prefix brunch and got the banana foster pancakes, snapper almondine, and the Keylime pie and because it was Sunday you know they had the jazz artist on deck, and he was amazing. snap his QR code to follow his journey and listen to his music

I really liked their attention to detail. when I made the reservation the day before I had added that we would be celebrating a anniversary and when we sat down, the menus were personalized with a happy anniversary on them, which I thought was very nice of them. I ordered the brunch that cost $35 and I thought that was a great price for an appetizer, entree and dessert. I ordered the banana foster pancakes, and I really liked the syrup that they added alongside the rest of the plate. I also ordered the blue crab hash and that was pretty good as well not pictured is the chocolate mousse bomb for dessert and I thoroughly enjoyed that dessert the mousse was made very well and I wish I had ordered another one.

    Sushi Tower*

I'd actually give 3,5 stars. Overall impression: the place is a bit overrated. The food is fine, but not to the point of price/quality match. Nice ambiance, friendly and polite staff, but there is a room for improvement. The sushi tower was a complete joke, I apologize. Even in a simple sushi plece around the corner the plating looks much better... Seriously, I'm not asking to cut a swan of the reddish, but at least make it look nicer

The crab cake dinner. It said crab cakes. And horrible plating. 55$ for that

there is nothing good to say about this place. our server was new but best part of experience Food was nowhere near as described. Their indifference to diners was beyond bad.

we were 8 of us . Friday early evening . Delicious super tasty food . Fried fish , Mussels in red curry sauce , sliders, Nachos with crab and shrimp, blackened tacos plus salad with beets . Their drinks were the best . I loved my Moscow mule .Chardonnay was very smooth too . Will be back again .

Came in here for dinner while I was in town for a cybersecurity conference. Walked in about 6pm on a Sunday, and we were seated very quickly. I had my service dog with me and the host at the door was very polite about asking me the questions they are allowed to ask, and didn't make a big deal of it. The restaurant itself was very contemporary and intimate, low lighting, well decorated, and I like how they have an ice island in the middle with some of their fresh seafood displayed. Now, on to the part that matters, the food. Passionfish Flys their seafood in fresh daily and it's incredible quality. I got the Toro tuna sashimi appetizer and the fish almost literally melted in my mouth it was so tender. For my main course I got their sushi tower, and all of the fish on it was also divine. Very happy I stopped in and im definitely going again next time im in town

I used to enjoy their Bethesda location until it closed. It was a solid place. Came here with friends after a fiasco at another restaurant. Love the decor and layout. Fresh fish on display adds to the ambience. We all went light on the food. Char broiled oysters, gumbo, and calamari. All were so so. Gumbo lacked salt and any strong flavor. My friend who cooks said the rue wasn't right. Comments about the calamari were mmmm ok. Likewise for the oysters, bit they were pretty. I think everything needed more seasoning.

Like Trios, but even better. Get ready for a bunch of superlatives…read more.. This place has some similarities to Trios in Merrifield. Both Heirloom and Trios are attached to--and share a kitchen with--a Roadhouse Grill, and all of them are owned by the same parent company. However, Heirloom is much smaller, which I suspect makes it easier to control quality. Based on my experiences--one visit here and many visits to Trios over the years--the quality of just about everything is better at Heirloom. My meal consisted of their Smoked Manhattan, the Burrata salad, and the Heirloom Burger. (The burger was so good that they named the restaurant after it!) The Manhattan was one of the best Manhattans I've ever had. It had a wonderfully mellow, balanced flavor that edged toward sweet, despite being made with rye. Maybe it was the aroma--and eventual taste--of the large toasted marshmallow suspended over my glass where the cherry would normally go? I guess, to be sure, I'll have to go back and order another. The Burrata did what all great burratas do: each bite felt like a mouthful of sunshine. The cheese, tomatoes, arugula, and balsamic vinaigrette combined to create pure culinary happiness. The only better burrata I can recall was at Mikrolimano in Athens. However, once you factor in travel time and parking, Heirloom is definitely the better value. The Heirloom Burger was absolutely delicious. This past week I've been waxing poetic about burgers because one of the Hackney's restaurants back home is closing after 70 years, so emotionally, I'm not prepared to bestow any new burger honors just yet. However, check back in a few weeks, and you may very well see this review updated to say that the Heirloom Burger was one of the best burgers I've ever had. Other logistics... The service was OUTSTANDING. We were seated right at our reservation time, greeted warmly by several staff members, and waited on nearly hand and foot by Alex. She explained the menu, helped us select our beverages, and made sure everything ran smoothly throughout the meal. It was attentive service without ever feeling intrusive. Parking is free after 5 and on weekends in a multi-story garage about half a block away. Happy hour is 5-7. They call Heirloom a speakeasy, but it feels more like a small restaurant with an eight-stool bar and a few high-tops. It's intimate compared with the Roadhouse, but not exactly speakeasy-intimate. And, finally, Heirloom is inside Roadhouse. You walk down a hallway, turn left into a very short hallway, open an unmarked door, and then go through a second door marked only by a red rose on the handle. I suspect the obscure entrance is their justification for calling it a speakeasy. But with food and service this good, they can call it whatever they like.

We've had plenty of bad experiences with Chinese buffet seafood making us feel sick--pretty sure I'm not the only one--but that has never happened here. The food is always freshly steamed and served hot when you order. I'm not a big fan of overly salty, heavy American-style seasoning, so I really appreciate that they can prepare it without all that. Also, my daughter doesn't eat much seafood, but they're flexible and let us order something simple like a mozzarella stick for her, which is a huge plus. Yes, there's an 18% gratuity for parties of 5 or more, but it feels fair for the quality and service. The gumbo you can order on the side is amazing, and the crab legs, mussels, clams, and shrimp are all fresh and delicious. It's $58.99 per person, which isn't cheap, but definitely worth it. Highly recommend.

But, overall enjoyed it! They give you gloves and a bib so you can dig in without worrying getting too messy. One special thing they have on the menu is their ramen side. I've never seen this at other crab boils. The ramen is so tasty in the garlic butter sauce. It was my favorite part and I kept going back for more! We ordered another platter of seafood and were stuffed! The service can be improved. Our waitress came by a few times but not enough to get refills on our drinks or other things we needed. We were unfortunately served the branzino topped with only the Chilean garlic sauce and not the lemon caper sauce at all. The server wasn't seeming to know what to do with our dissatisfied reaction, so we decided to salvage the fish and ordered the lemon caper on the side, it tasted bland at best. Fish was fine, but unfortunately there was nothing worth mentioning positively about it for its $37 price point. *Neither sauce was worth ordering and unfortunately neither tasted how they were described, more like plain aioli. In our ignorance, we didn't realize branzino meant the whole fish would be served versus a filet. It would have been nice to have been able to read that fact on the menu prior to ordering. We ordered the truffle fries, which had probably zero amounts of truffle on them. Overcooked. We ordered the tropical mojito mocktail, and it was either poorly made or the recipe could use a complete reset. The crab stuffed mushrooms and sauce, amazing. Server, kind. We were asking quite a few questions of him, trying to decide between the Chilean with lobster or the branzino, which showed our ignorance in the fish choices, I believe. A good server would have picked up on this, and went into a much more detailed explanation of both dishes to educate and inform us on making the right decision. So I think it's pretty accurate to say that a good majority of the problems we had could have been salvaged had he been a little more seasoned at reading the individual needs of his customers. Although, with ordering either of these entrees or the truffle fries, we would have been disappointed as the flavor was just not there. Being out of towners used to seafood from California, we were excited to try a new place on the east coast. I read multiple positive reviews from other customers, and unfortunately we are leaving disappointed in the $80 spent. We joked that perhaps the usual chef called in sick and the bus boy took his place. Underwhelming. Overcooked. Bland. But, they had pretty tables.

Every time we've attempted to eat here on a reservation, they've had issues. Never set up and ready to seat us. Never prepared upon opening... and it's never busy when they first open which is why we always go early. But, they are NEVER ready to seat us. What's the use of making a reservation a week in advance if you're not going to be ready to seat the party nor accommodate the request? How would you like to find out at the last minute that they're going to split up your party at two different tables on two different sides of the restaurant because they weren't prepared when you gave them a week's notice via reservation? The food isn't that good to have to keep going through the challenge of being seated every time we make a reservation for a group. They're really pricey, too. So, certainly not worth this chronic headache. There are PLENTY of other places in the Town Center or in Herndon/Reston in general where you can get a tasty meal, not drop a day's pay, and have your entire party served well together. The taco joint across the street is definitely a more pleasant experience, for example, and I would certainly recommend bartaco...give them a try instead for a fun environment and some good eats.
