Had a great experience here and walked out with a beautiful car. Although I got a great final price on a Mazda3, the professional treatment from Carlos and Slovenko is what really stood out. Some examples: - They were patient, understanding, and took the time to explain the process and considerations. -They provided a very low pressure environment and made me feel like a person, not just a customer. The rest of the team was equally patient and kind. -They took the time to take a close look at my trade in and offer me a fair price. -The car I bought came in with a small scratch on the fender. Instead of minimizing it, Carlos, without prompting, said: "I apologize for this and we'll fix it for free - I won't sell anyone a car that's not perfet." They did all this during an incredibly busy Sunday at the end of the year where they were closing multiple sales at the same time and they were exhausted. You could tell the people on the team liked each other and truly enjoyed their jobs. If you want a dealership that will offer you a fair price and treat you with patience and respect, this is the place! It's ridiculous that I have to wait for several hours when I had an appointment; this shouldn't take so long. I bought the car in April and it has 28,000 miles on it. The cable that controls the gas cap cover stopped working. There should not be any question whether this part is covered or not. They can't seem to tell me anything. read more

I've been looking for an AWD 2016 Mazda CX-5 for several months. Now living in Florida they are a bit hard to find. Started an Internet search and found what I thought was a great price here at Passport. 2016 GT AWD. Sonic Silver Vin JM3KE4DY9G0707553 Stock #687 Grand touring tech and I-active packages $33930 MSRP $29511 Internet price* $4419 off MSRP -500 Mazda loyalty $29011 would have been my cost. Since I drive a Mazda 3 now. Well, they contact me the same day via e-mail and tell me the "internet price" does not include the two packages! What? So, from their add of $4419 off the MSRP you need to add back in the $3000 in options! Oh you can find that buried in the fine print but does "Bait and Switch" mean anything to them - no, they are happy to advertise a price then add back in $3000 off their advertised $4419 off MSRP and not even blink. How can this make any sense? It doesn't. By the way, I bought exactly what I was looking for at Brown's Mazda for a great price. read more

We just had the easiest car leasing experience ever at Passport Mazda. Jay was our sales person and Dimicic was the manager. There were no pressures to buy. They just asked us what we were looking at and allowed us to even drive the car for a day to test it out. They were both 100% knowledgeable on the car's features. They responded to our questions very quickly and accurately. I never felt pressured or rushed. We needed time to decide if we wanted to purchase or buy and they were patient and waited for us to make the decisions. I called the service department on behalf of a family member and spoke to Barbara. I asked her how to reset an oil light for a 2009 Mazda after an oil change and she was offended that I asked the question. She was very condescending and kept telling me to take the car back to jiffy lube. We wanted to know how to do it ourselves instead of taking the car back to them. I thought it was a simple question but the outcome was not what I expected. She was irritated from the beginning of the conversation. It led me to ask to speak to someone else several times because she couldn't answer the question and she refused. I know it's an older car but you should treat everyone with respect regardless if the car is old or new. I can't believe you all have a person like this answering the phone and speaking to customers. Afterwards, I called another local Mazda dealer and they treated me with respect and was very helpful. Barbara needs customer service training. We drove out of state to see a car advertised online here. Showed up, and after closer inspection, found several things wrong with the car. Such as, the windshield was shattered at the top driver's side, the back bumper was dented on every side, the tow hook was missing (as well as the eyelet, but they said a new hook would cost us $50 & they'd grab another eyelet of another car for us), and even though their carfax showed 0 accidents, the bumper had been hit hard enough, that the clip holding it in place had broken off and it wouldn't line up properly with the body! Also had paint scratched of the front bumper too as if something scraped or hit it. We couldn't believe they put this on the lot in this condition, but less argue it was still worth as much as they originally wanted for it. When the 'numbers' guy went out to look at the car that we asked 1k off due to needing a new windshield (wouldn't pass inspection, we live in Va) and needing the body shop so the bumper didn't fall off, this guy tries making us feel bad for him. Saying... "Listen, I just got in (at 5pm) and you surely couldn't have had as rough a day as I've had". Excuse me?? Then tries convincing us even with a shattered windshield, it'll pass inspection. We called him out on it, because my husband work at a shop that does inspections and that's bs. Then he tells us he can get another 1k than asking price at auction. This is the price given at looking up what they're going for. To which we complained... Maybe for one not so damaged. He said he had "no clue" there were any problems with it. They must've just happened. What a complete waste of time. I wouldn't send someone I hate their way. Who treats people this way? read more

I was looking for a car for my son when I found a used Mazda on a website and clicked on the "I'm interested in this car" link. Within the hour, Blake from Passport called to tell me more about the car and to invite me in for a drive. I looked up the directions and saw that it would take an hour to get there so I almost thought I should just head to the Chantilly Mazda dealer which is 10 minutes away, but I wanted to see the car so I drove out there. My salesperson's name is Tonya and she is fantastic! She had the car out front and we immediately jumped in for a test drive as she knew I did not want to waste too much time as I wanted to get back to work. I drove the car and I liked it...but I saw a new car I liked much better, and I thought my son might like a lot. Tonya asked if I was ready to make a deal and I said I would like the new one, but didn't want to pay over X amount of dollars and I said if they could make that work to consider it a done deal. Within a few minutes I was signing the paperwork and the deal was done. Tonya and Blake were terrific, Tonya is a great person, she is not just a pretty face (VERY pretty face!), she is smart and hard working. I had a little dilemma on my hands as I went to the dealership alone and couldn't take the delivery of the car that day so we arranged for some porters from the dealership to drop the car off for me and the plan was executed perfectly. I'd like to thank Tonya, Blake and the team (finance person, porters) who helped make this a great buying experience, one of the best I've had- no pressure, no bait and switch tactics, just good people who are good at their jobs. read more

This dealership lies! And does not want to make up for their mistakes. I was looking to purchase a 2013 Ford Fusion, Titanium trim. When checking cars.com the site said the car had navigation. To make sure I sent an inquiry. I asked if the car did indeed have navigation. I received this response "Hey Jason, We found out this particular Fusion does not have navigation.  But in order to earn your  business, we will get a chip from Ford to plug into it.  That being said, it will inevitably have navigation, plus save you some money.  When are you available to stop by for a test drive? Regards, Andrew Faggio  I then agreed to go down and test drive the vehicle. The salesman Dwayne took me for a ride in the car and explained the same situation about the navigation as Andrew, stating all I needed as an SD card for the navigation and i would be all set, and that he has done this same thing with a previous customer. I then decided to purchase the car and they agreed to get me the SD card. Once it arrived i put the card in and nothing happened. it appears that the SD card is only maps for the locations you want to drive in. This card was for the US and Canada. After consulting a Ford hotline it would appear that i need a completely different radio system with the navigation built into it, which costs about $1000. Adding the SD card was useless. I called Passport and the manager Blake made me jump through hoops to confirm that the car did not have navigation. And after having a Ford dealership confirm the car indeed was not built with navigation the Passport did not offer to provide me with navigation after they got my business by stating that the car would have navigation. They remained firm even after i told them i have an email from them stating that the car would have navigation. I then filed a claim with the BBB. read more

I had went to Dars Chrysler to get buy a tag holder for my car. I asked if someone could help me there, they had me waiting for 30 mins before answering my question. They stated that it will be a 3 hour wait to be seen for getting a tag holder on my car. I ended up leaving and going to Passport Mazda since its next door. I rolled down my window and was greeted by Tavion, I asked if someone could assist me with putting my tag holder on. His response was sure I can, he ended up installing the tag hold for me and putting my hard tags on within 10 mins. I told him I greatly appreciated it, he was so pleasant and I like the fact he took the time to help me instead of pushing me off. I contacted the manager to tell him the wonderful customer service that Tavion gave me. If I was to return I'll be sure to get his help!!!!! read more

Rafael hooked me up with a Certified Pre-Owned 2016 Mazda CX-5 and he was great to work with throughout the entire process. I live out of state and he helped me lock in the vehicle and kept me up to date on its availability. He sent photos and videos of the vehicle and answered every question I had. He also provided a delivery service that usually isn't available given the distance. I'm very satisfied with the quality of the vehicle and with the level of service overall. My lease was coming to an end, so I NEEDED to get a car ASAP! Having been in the car business myself for many years, I thought it was going to be a cakewalk finding a car. After visiting a handful of dealerships and walking out disappointed, I began surfing the web for quotes. I sent out my conditions and said "if you can honor this, you'll have the deal". I received a response from Passport Mazda, and after the first response, I received an email from "Slavenko Drincic" the General Manager. He told me, "Perfect" and repeated my terms. Keep in mind this was Sunday, and I unfortunately was at another dealership when I received his email. After patiently waiting and negotiating for HOURS at (unnamed dealership), I raced off to Passport to see if this guy was a man of his word. When I arrived, I first asked some random guy where the bathroom was, because it was over an hour drive, and when I came back out asked that same rando where I could find Slavenko. Turned out that was him lol. I refreshed his memory of the email, and he immediately showed me the car, and we cut straight to the chase. Unlike the other dealerships, he spoke to me like a fellow car salesman. There is nothing I respect more than a man of his word, he was. I can only share my experience with you. Tanyika Proctor didn't know anything about the car I purchased. Slovenko did but he left and the entire sale became a nightmare. The car didn't even pass inspection after I had it checked after leaving concerned. The level of customer service received here is the worst I've ever seen in my life. The most disappointing part is being taken advantage of, lied to and sold a vehicle in bad condition. They then considered giving me a loaner a favor while they keep the car over a week I've not driven the car more than 5 hours. Take this experience and makes wise decision. If negative stars was an option.... 8 mo ago I bought a car and was given a signed "We Owe You" form for a free interior upgrade; the whole reason I agreed to buy from Passport in the first place. I never received the upgrade and no one at Passport has replied to my repeated calls and emails. I was sold a car I never wanted....... When I first stopped in to test drive the car, the sales team did and said all the right things. But when it came down to closing a deal, I wanted a very specific exterior and interior color, and they didn't have what I wanted in stock. My earlier research showed me that Brown's Alexandria Mazda did. I asked Passport if they could get one from Brown's - I know sometimes dealers do this. Passport said that's the one Mazda dealership they don't have a good relationship with so it couldn't be done. I turned to leave, but got reeled in with what I now know was a lie. I should have just headed straight to Brown's, but Passport promised me a free interior upgrade to match my preferred color. I took the bait. An official signed "We Owe You" form was printed and I left thinking I'd soon be back to get that install. It never happened. 6 mo later I was back at the dealership for work on a recall issue and I asked about the promised upgrade. A new sales manager apologized profusely, took all my info, promised to look into it and call me back "within a couple of days." 2 more months later - nothing. I've called and emailed...never once got a reply. To say I'm disappointed in an understatement. It's possible this fell through the cracks, an honest mistake, etc. But they've had 8 months to make this right, to give me one single reply, even an honest "we're really sorry." I'm now looking into legal, consumer affairs, and media options. read more

Amazing service!! I had originally contacted them through either Cargurus or Auto trader. Ms.Tonya Mickey contacted me immediately. We discussed about a used 2016 Mazda6 that they had advertised. The price was great and was willing to buy it, but I didn't know it was a manual transmission. If Tonya hadn't confirmed with me if I really wanted that car with manual transmission, I would've blindly bought that car. Mind you, I live in New York and they are in Maryland. So, if not for Tonya, I'd have driven all the way to Maryland just to find out it wasn't the car I wanted. So, after she told me about the Transmission, I had to look for other dealers who had what I wanted ; the car that matched my budget. Tonya asked me what exactly what I was looking for so she can help me find it. Come Friday, I was talking to another dealer and was about to go to it, Tonya called me out of the blue. She had news for me that Blake had found the car I was looking for and almost matched my budget. This was a brand new 2016 Mazda 6 and both Tonya and Blake was able to offer me the car with a great price!and they even discounted it a bit as well! If I can get a brand new car for almost the same price as the used, I'll definitely take the new! I drove all the way to Maryland 4 hours! to meet them and get the car. That's how good of a service they had! Even after the purchase, I've called Tonya many times with questions and she has never snuffed me. I can say that she really cares for her clients and their interests. If you want great cars, great price, and even greater service, go to Passport Mazda. Do not give this place any of your business. Especially not Mark Bowers, he is a lying salesman. He will say anything and everything that you want to hear to keep you there. My entire experience in purchasing a car there was ruined by unnecessary lies from Mark and over the top aggressive and offensive statements from Muhammed and finally questioning the competence of their finance person, Lori. I visited your dealership three times and felt comfortable in talking and working with Mark and Muhammed until the final day I visited to purchase the car. When I agreed to purchase the car, I told Mark I would need a ride from the metro station to the dealership, he said he would arrange a ride. Conveniently for him, when I arrived at the metro station and called him and the dealership, he didn't answer his cell phone, and no one answered at the dealership. I then had to walk from the metro station to the dealership. Mark lied about having the headlights buffed on the car I was purchasing he also lied about having a duplicate key made for the car. Subsequently he also lied about the price of having a car key made. Mark lied about trivial things too, like he was the person who took the used car in on trade in a week prior, when the Carfax for the car clearly state the car originated at Passport BMW. Always get everything in writing, and never trust these people. The sales manager Muhammed Derindag became verbally abusive in negotiating the car price, no one should have to be yelled at over the price of anything. Dealing with Muhammed was horrible and stress inducing. I understand that car dealerships may enjoy the role-playing game of 'good cop' and 'bad cop' but Muhammed cut me off multiple times, he was aggressive, offensive and overall insulting. I was so stressed out I could not sleep for the next 2 days. PTSD should not come with buying a car. He forced me to leave after not agreeing to the price of the car. Then for insulting icing on the cake, as I left the dealership to my car, Mark comes running out to cat call me saying, 'don't let the car go for only $200 difference' and using the excuse of his chasing me down as 'I am just outside to move the car back to the used car lot.' This was clearly emotional manipulation played off of car dealership archetype of the sale being made when the dealership realized they are about to lose a customer and the salesmen comes running after the fleeting customer. And of course about 15 minutes later Mark calls me saying that he 'miraculously' convinced Muhammed to agree to my price. I expected the foggy headlights on the car buffed and I expected a total of 2 keys for the car with the price that was agreed on. I received neither with the purchase of the car. Financing and paperwork. Lori Burkinshaw was a nice person, but I was left questioning her competence in the process after having to calculate the tax of the vehicle three separate times. I was surprised by how difficult and time consuming this since these calculations are done on a regular basis. Was this miscalculating the tax and final price of the vehicle three separate times some kind of joke or a scam that I was not picking up on? Regardless, its a loss of confidence in the competence of the finance people there. This was a horrible car purchasing experience and I hope no one else goes through it like I unfortunately did. Do not let yourself be emotionally manipulated and verbally abused. Do not give their salespeople or this Mazda dealership your business. read more

Their initial customer service was exceptional as indicated by my 5 star review, HOWEVER since then I have has multiple problems with the certified preowned warranty and have reached out with ZERO reply back. I have not only left messages with the sales manager, but I have left emails with the sales rep and have contacted corporate Mazda whom have also left MULTIPLE messages with management and received ZERO calls back. It is one thing to have good customer service when you are trying to sell your product but if you are not willing to maintain your good customer service skills following a purchase than why shop there. They got what they wanted... my money! Too bad they will never get anymore of it nor will I ever recommend anyone to purchase from them as a result of this experience! I'm a car guy, we own 9 vehicles, just bought our 10th at Passport Mazda yesterday. In addition to being a car guy I am in the car business. The company I own services 300 new & used car dealers. I rarely buy a new car. Most of the cars I buy are anywhere from 2 to 4 years old and under 30,000 miles. I normally buy my cars from my dealer customers and the transactions are always very quick and painless. Awhile back my wife spotted a Miata RF and really liked the way it looked. I said, OK let's get one. As I mentioned we have 9 cars and she says, I like it but we don't need any more cars. Fast forward a few months and she gets the Miata RF bug. I search around my dealer connections and can't find one that fits her criteria. Red or Metallic Grey, under 10,000 miles and an automatic. I reluctantly search on line and eventually my radius increases to 1000 miles from our location. I searched, Autotrader, Cargurus, Carfax, individual dealer sites and CL. I find a few, some are 1000 miles away and I'm willing to either fly to & drive it back or would arrange to have it shipped. I respond to the few I found by either using the 3rd party site or the dealers site or the old fashioned way, a phone call. I've been around the block, I know how dealers operate, I know how the game is played and I realize the dealer obviously has to make a profit too. Once contacted by the various dealers I matter of factly lay out my parameters. I am a cash buyer, no financing. I can wire funds, I can pay by CC I can send certified check. All I ask of you is give me your best bottom line out the door price. Period. No need to include sales tax or title fees etc as I will pay those in in my home state when registering the car. So, just give me the final price I'll need to wire you to complete this deal. In every case they said they would have to check with the manager and get back to me. Almost none got back to me. And the few that did added all sorts of BS fees to their low ball internet price that jacked up the cost well beyond their posted on line price. Actually, it was all but 1. In response to my on line inquiry I received a call from Mohamed at Passport Mazda. He responded within what seemed like 30 seconds of my online inquiry. I gave him my speech and without hesitation he came back with a final price on the spot. I thought it was a very fair honest price for the car in question. I accepted the deal. I offered to put a deposit on the car either by CC or wire transfer, he said it was not necessary, he'd hold the car for me. I'm 200 miles from his location about a 3hr drive on a good day and told him I probably could not get there for about a week. He said that was no problem. I said, OK, would you prefer a wire transfer or certified check at the time I picked the car up, he says a personal check would be OK. I was kind of amazed by that. I'm from 200 miles away, have no relationship with Passport and they are willing to take my personal check and let me drive off in their Miata RF. That was that. I texted Mohamed 2 more times over the next week confirming day and approximate time we'd be showing up. Other then that there were no more communications till we showed up yesterday. When we arrived we saw the car sitting out front all polished and ready to go. We walked in and tracked down Mohamed, he in turn turned us over to a sales person who in turn then turned us over to the finance person (Paula) to do all the paperwork and take our check. Unfortunately I suck at remembering names, but we met with a few other people and every single person we met with was friendly, personable and professional. They were actually very busy yesterday and we sat around for almost 90 minutes waiting for Paula so we could wrap up the deal and drive off. She was busy finalizing things with another customer. Ordinarily I would have been pissed and left. But I could see they were very busy and various other staff would come by and apologize for the wait and offer us refreshments and snacks. It was as though we really mattered to them. Once we got to meet with Paula the transaction took less then 30 minutes. We could not ask for more. To finalize, did I get the best lowest price out there-maybe/maybe not. Did I get the best overall deal and buying experiences possible-ABSOLUTELY I did. All I can say is every other car dealer out there should take a look at Passports business model and emulate it. They would end up with a much better business. NOTE: Getting a good deal on a car is on you - no dealership is going to work to save you money. Do your research, contact lots of dealerships, know the TrueCar and invoice prices, compare quotes, look up the incentives, and WAIT until you find the right dealer, time, and vehicle. Also, always ask for the 'out the door' price - the lowest selling price can be a trick to rope you into complicated fees. I contacted tons of dealers across a huge area using TrueCar. After comparing quotes, negotiating lower prices, checking average prices, and analyzing the latest incentives and deals, I ended up here for ONE REASON: they gave me the lowest price. Many other dealers declared they would "match any price" but ended up telling me "oh not that price...that price is too low", which is ridiculous and kind of ticked me off. I didn't have to jump through any hoops at Passport and I never felt like they were trying to swindle me out of my money (although they still want your money - it's not a charity). Not only that, the salespeople I dealt with (Ryan and Andrew) answered all my questions and were extremely patient, despite my irritation persistence and attention to detail. The financing woman was hugely helpful and gave me real-life advice about my loan rather than abusing my inexperience for profit. They've also been responsive after the sale about a slight chip in my taillight, which they offered to replace this week. I have been researching a number of vehicles for potential purchase during the last two weeks to replace my 2008 Saturn Sky. I requested information from Passport Mazda on their 2003 MB SL 500 and was assigned Tonya. Tonya was willing to communicate with me by phone and email regarding the condition of the car, pricing and other information. I arrived an hour earlier than my scheduled appointment time and Tonya was with another customer but the management team did not miss a beat in coming out of their offices getting the keys and showing me the SL 500 and listening to my wish list.
