Greetings, fellow perspective car buyers. I am here to share my overall positive experience with Passport Motors. I live in California, so the entire process was done via email and phone calls. I purchased a 2012 BMW 135i in Marrakesh Brown, in early March 2015. I had my eye on this car for several months before making contact with Passport Motors, as I did my homework with regard to price and financing, dealership reputation, and vehicle history. When I finally tested the waters with general questions about the car, I found the staff to be attentive and pleasant but not pushy. The website was helpful in that it provided both Carfax and AutoCheck reports, but, me being the cautious buyer that I am, I had the car inspected by a third party, which Passport Motors welcomed. The inspection did find a scratch that was not mentioned in the description or pictured, but after mentioning it, Passport Motors was kind enough to repair it, at no cost to me. Although I have a very good credit score, my credit history is limited. However, Passport Motors was able to get me financed at a reasonable APR. The contract was straight forward and easy to read. Again, the staff was helpful, but there were times when we weren't on the same page, so make sure to do your part as an aware buyer and go over all the details and get things in writing. I had the car shipped to California and when it arrived, I found that the condition was mostly consistent with Passport Motors' listed details and pictures. It included the manual and two sets of keys (be sure to ask for both sets). The warranty was a few months short from the listing details, but it is still valid. Overall, my experience was good and I do recommend doing business with Passport Motors. As a side note, I will say Passport Motors is reluctant to negotiate, so keep that in mind. This isn't to knock them as I think their prices are about average. Negotiating is an endangered art in this "haggle-free" market. Don't be discouraged, though...talk to Ben. read more

Stay FAR, FAR away from PassportMotors.COM!! Go anywhere else!! Michelle is a liar. John encourages his sales people to lie. I was told - over the phone - the car had a feature I knew nothing about - but liked what Michelle told me about it. The feature would allow me to not have to dig through my purse for my key to open and/or lock the door of my car. I could just have the key on my person and it would work. I got the car - and that feature is not included. They also never told me that the car only came with one key. It will cost me over $400 to buy another key and have it programmed to work with my car. They also sent the car empty - another $75 right off the bat. They also shipped it to me filthy and covered in grease - another $30 hand wash immediately after getting it. They also didn't inform me that the tow hook and tools from the tool box in the trunk would be missing. I don't know how much it will cost to replace these items. They also didn't tell me that the lighter covers would be missing. After 4 days of having it - the low tire pressure light came on. I'm now afraid of what else must be wrong with this car!! I called the manager every day for a week and no one returned my phone calls. Then I was told to talk to Ben and then they said John. I finally reached him and he said they can "say" whatever they want - but if it isn't in writing, it is hearsay and it never happened. He didn't care that she lied or that she didn't disclose that it would be missing so many things. He actually sounded arrogant and proud that I wasn't smart enough to ask these questions in advance - so it was all my fault. Be warned - you will not be happy dealing with these people!!! read more

We paid cash for our 2005 Lexus RX330 on 1/20/20015. We were promised that they would make sure that the floor mats would be included. After many phone calls, speaking to Michelle, who claimed she spoke to her manager and leaving several messages, after 3 months, no return calls and still no floor mats for my vehicle. Though the car-fax was flawless, I suspect this car had some type of body work, the jury is still out on that one. Everyone was cordial, but not truthful. They sell wrecked and flooded cars to unsuspecting buyers. They wouldn't do their own buyers inspection, on a car that they are selling, instead, they just wanted me to send them money to do it !!!! And they wanted to be paid to take the car to the dealership for me, for an inspection... I could have had AAA tow the car for free for me to the dealership and back, but thats not the point... This place is the most rude and disrespectful place I've ever went. I took my 2012 Audi A4 to trade in and the owner offered me $1,200 where as other dealerships such as Park Place have offered $5,000. He was very rude in a way how he treated his customers. Even during the conversation, he was standing up the whole time leaving us hanging on the couch and walked away back to his office in the middle of the conversation after we kindly asked for a better deal. A follow up... Contacted Archer again by phone about the brake job ( 4 new brake pads, a condition of purchase! ), I asked him for the work order for the brake job, he immediatly asked , why?... I simple said I want a copy of the work order, simply refused to give me anything.. end of conversation. I want to make you aware that I facetime'd Archer and he took me for a tour of there Certified Service Department and LR4 purchased, yes there was an area with several cars being worked on. My problem is I have a Brake Pad Warning LIght ( after 200 miles driven ), and I'm not sure if they just didn't replace the sensors or just didn't replace anything. I'm turning over all this information to BBB and other parties. Let's not forget that Archer failed to disclose a Very LOUD compresser noise after start up and that lasts 2-3 minutes, obviously it was going out... not something you would miss on a car for sale ). Purchased a preowned BMW on site April 2015 and was very pleased with the experience. Negotations were straight forward, car was ready when promised, and documentation and plates processed accordingly. They agreed to make some small wheel repair before delivery and it was completed as agreed. Fast and easy. When buying a preowned car, it's always buyer beware to assess the vehicle and make sure any add ons are completed BEFORE delivery. That's easy for onsite sales, but no so much for online/remote. The other reviews of this business WOULD make me reluctanct to do a remote/online purchase. read more

I was already pretty set on the car here before I read these reviews. After seeing it for the first time and everything looked good, I came home and read the reviews and it was definitely a bit scary. I decided to get the car anyway, but not without doing my homework. I took the car down the road to Linear Automotive who does a pre-purchase inspection just to make sure there was nothing I was missing. I also had several recommendations to get the Autocheck rather than the carfax so I did that as well. Everything ended up coming back clean. I worked with Ben and he was very understanding, had no issues with me test driving it multiple times or letting me take it to get the inspection done before-hand. So far so good with the car, very happy with the purchase and as far as I know, I got a great deal. It's a used car, do your homework before-hand. I don't doubt that this John guy might be rude, but there's plenty of things you can do outside of the dealership to make sure they're not selling you junk. read more

Truthfully, just very poor customer service. I practically had to beg to get the salesman to call me. They send you automated emails. I tried to communicate with them and ask questions and got even more automated messages telling me to come in before such and such time. They were not personable at all when I finally got one to call my cellphone(which I had to give out more than once). They were unwilling to budge from the price in the slightest. I have seen the price drop twice on two cars that I did have previous interest in twice now. When you have used cars on your lot for 50+ days you should be a bit more willing to discuss it. Meanwhile I cannot get the sales team at other dealerships to stop emailing me. I see quite a few negative comments before my own, and its pretty much the exact same complaints. Unfortunate, I would of loved to buy one of these cars for more than it is currently listed for. read more

I found a car online at Passport Motors that I liked, so I stopped by 4/15/2017. It took 15-20 minutes to get the car out so I could see it. Finally it was out, and the salesman took me to the garage area. The car was so dirty I couldn't believe it was a place selling BMW's. I mentioned how dirty it was and he went and got a towel to show me that it could get cleaned, but why wasn't it cleaned already. It was so bad, and then we found some codes that the car was showing and the salesman told me that if I was trying to get a cheap car then I was out of luck. I told him I didn't like the car at all, and he said okay. I asked if he was going to show me anything else, and he just shrugged his shoulders. I just started looking for another car and having bought 2 cars from Passport Motors in the past I decided to look at the inventory on line and noticed all the negative reviews. The first car I bought here was a Mercedes CLK 350 and had it for several years with no issues and the second car was a BMW 328I hard top convertible both had low millage and came with a warranty so just the minor issues were covered fully. When buying a used car there can always be some type of issue that comes up after purchase that the seller may have no clue to predicting. if you have a car shipped I would not expect it to be showroom clean upon arrival and as for as the interior being cleaned when shipping the are often in and out of cars making sure they are secure and may get the inside somewhat messed. John worked with me in every way to get the best deal and financing possible. When I sold my BMW I actually got right at $8,000 more than what I owed on it and I sold it to CarMax who does a through and through inspection so I think you may need to pay a bit more attention to the car you buy, not everyone is showroom new and has some type of imperfection's....I'm sure I not just so damn lucky with both my purchase's here that I can write a positive review for Passport Motors I think maybe it is because the cars I bought were good cars and that John and his staff did all they could to follow through with a professional sale. Oh and the Mercedes I purchased only had one key as well as one of the negative reviews complained about but I did ask up front and was told that so...Ask questions and stop complaining about something that you are totally in control of before you sign on the dotted line. Very easy transaction and a very fair price for our trade-in and the car we bought. We've paid cash for the last 4 cars we bought at other dealers (Toyota and Infinity) and it was still a slow and painful process and the tried to up-sell. At Passport, we drove several BMW 4 series, picked the one we wanted, made a deal and wrote a check. This was also the only dealer that let us drive the cars by our self without one of their sales guys with us. We drove 3 different cars and they pulled out each one that we selected and washed it before we drove it (a 5-10 minute process). I read through the some of the negative reviews here but they were mostly minor and some possibly caused by people not used to a dealer like this. You are buying a used car after all. As for the suggesting that they are selling wrecked or flooded cars. Get a carfax. We traded in a our Infinity that we bought from Crest that was in excellent condition and still under warranty and they turned around and resold it. I found it on their site a few days later and the price spread of what they paid us for it and what they listed it for was very reasonable. Same goes for the BMW we bought there. I believe they have lower overhead than a factory dealer and sell their used cars at a better price. read more

Bought my BMW there some years ago. They showed me clean car report of no accidents, but later I found out the car WAS in some kind of accident and had body work done. Based on other reviews here looks like they buy cars that were in accidents cheap, fix them and sell it. I've had to spend a lot of my own money trying to align he car plus tires were all wearing badly on one side. Better to pay a little more and buy certified cars at the dealerships. I've posted this review on Google. My rating brought down their overall rating to fall under 4. Immediately, they had at least 10 five star (mostly FAKE) reviews posted in a span of 1 week (which isn't normal). I wish I could give a NEGATIVE FIVE. This place is horrible for either buying a car (Passport Motors) or getting a car serviced/repaired (European Auto Tech). Their sales people are dishonest, mechanics are very incompetent and clueless about what they do. Some of the cars they sell are advertised up to $1000 less compared to other dealers as they were (1) Been in accident(s) but never got reported to CarFax, AutoCheck, etc and repaired by their incompetent mechanics (European Auto Tech) (2) Been altered in several ways by replacing the factory installed parts with aftermarket substandard/inferior parts by their clueless mechanics I bought a $24K lease returned BMW (at least that is how they advertised) from them which had several problems. On my 2nd day of owning the car, it didn't start. I had it towed to a BMW dealer. They found the starter to be faulty and replaced it under warranty. I also learned that the car had an inferior aftermarket battery, and one of the rear tires was worn out (to 2/32) and shouldn't even have passed the Texas Vehicle Inspection. Then, I went to Passport Motors and expressed my concerns, Ben Sadri simply told that the BMW dealer was just trying to sell me a battery and a set of tires and there was nothing I should be worried about. I questioned why one of the tires (the worn out one) was of a different brand from the other tires, he lied to me that it was replaced by the previous owner. Upon repeatedly asking how it passed the inspection, he simply said "Do not argue with me. You already got a good deal on the car. It passed inspection at that time." (Seriously, just after driving 90 miles it wouldn't pass the inspection?). Later, I learned that the inspection was done by their repair unit run under the name 'European Auto Tech', that's why it passed! When the car started skidding in the rain, I had to replace both the rear tires. A week later, guess what? the car wouldn't start again. I had it towed again. This time I was also charged for diagnosis as I didn't replace the substandard battery with a BMW recommended one, I was also shown how poorly the wiring was done, the wires/cables were loose floating around. 3 fuses were blown this time because of bad wiring and inferior battery. So, I had to buy a new battery this time. Their cars may be priced less than other places, but that is not worth the problems that come into light later. Over all, I have been ripped off by this place costing me more money in terms of repairs ($1400 in 60 days of ownership) which I wouldn't really had to spend if the car was not altered by their unskilled mechanics. I bought several lease returned cars (from OTHER DEALERS) in the past and had absolutely zero problems. This is the first time I bought from this STEALER (seeing mostly positive reviews) and learned a very costly lesson. I would strongly recommend you to stay away from this place for your car purchases and especially for repairs! read more

My experience with Passport Motors has been excellent. I did my car deal with Michelle and John and I was very pleased with the negotiation process and the extra efforts that John made to insure that I got the financing I wanted for the car. There were a couple of paintless dent repairs that I requested to be made on the car, that were not included in writing in the contract, and those were taken care of as was promised. Caesar who works in their service department took great care of me. Everyone has been friendly, and they have done what they told me they would do. I thought this place was great. Low pressure and patient with buyers that are willing to put in some work. I spent three hours on the lot, mostly on my own, checking out the inventory looking for the perfect car. I test drove five different cars before finally settling on one. Ben, Rosy and Arthur were all helpful and none of them were annoyed with my shopping style. I got a great deal on a lease return with low miles. My CarFax report came out clean. I don't believe the dealer can manipulate those. That's why CarFax exists. read more

Shady dealership. Had a couple different shady experiences with them. 1. I went in for inquiry. I applied for a loan. I was told I got a good rate and could come pick up the car. I took a taxi across town to pick up the car only to tell me I got a higher rate instead. I asked why wasn't I told over the phone before I came their response was its not that much of a difference. Is that for me to decide? 2. I asked for a 2nd key and the manager told me they sells used cars so they don't care if customers want a second key or not. Pretty much saying they don't care about customer service. It might be your policy but very poor choice of words. 3. I noticed the low tire pressure signal was on so I asked to have the car checked out by a mechanic or specialist to ensure everything is fine. They said not to worry that they will put air in it and if anything was wrong I can take it to a BMW dealership it will be free because the car is still in warranty. Not true. What they didn't tell me is BMW warranty does not cover tires. So after about a week of driving the tire signal came on again. I knew something was wrong so I took it to the dealership. I was told there were 2 nails that were causing minor leaks. I didn't have tire warranty and had to pay about $450 for the tire My advice: Even thou they have good prices you are better off going somewhere else with more honest and sincere service because at the end of the day you'll end up paying almost the same price as everyone else with bad and shady customer service. Will never repeat and would not even advice my enemy to go here. read more

BUYER BEWARE! I purchased a vehicle from Passport Motors at the end of July 2014. I set everything up over the phone as we were driving from out of state. I agreed to pay what they were asking contingent upon the vehicle being exactly as described - free from mechanical and cosmetic faults. When I got there, check in hand, there were two cosmetic defects that were pretty minimal but still noticable. They took care ofthe cracked bumper right away, albeit upon further inspection you can tell that they took no pride in workmanship - one of their technicians filled the crack and repainted in...letting the paint dry while dripping. We scheduled an appointment to have the windshield fixed and due to the distance, I rescheduled it once. I get an extremely rude call from Michelle saying I didn't make my appointment, after explaining to her that I had rescheduled the week prior she accused me of lying. IT GETS BETTER - a week after getting the windshield fixed, the vehicle - which had 40k on it when I purchased it, overheats and breaks down completely. I called the dealership because I could have sworn the owner told me they covered the vehicle for 90 days, they tell me they've already cashed the check and there isn't anything they can do because I didn't purchase an extended warranty THAT WAS NEVER OFFERED. I have been in the car business for years, I am totally appalled by their complete lack of business morals. A vehicle that is less than three years old with minimal miles should not completely break down a few weeks after purchase.
