Servers were super friendly immediately upon walking in. Luckily, there was no wait when we came since this spot is quite small. Servers were able to quickly take our order and food came out in less than 10-15 minutes. It's nice that they provide salad and bread as sides with each pasta order. I actually really liked their bread cause it had a nice toasted crisp on the outside and the butter melted perfectly on the inside. We got the uni pasta and the tomato cream sauce with shrimp and spinach, which were both good. They each had their own characteristics-- the uni was creamy while the tomato sauce definitely carried the other pasta. I'd definitely come back and hope to try the mentai cream pasta next!
My favorite Italian Japanese pasta restaurant! Each dish is done so well and reflects the flavor as said on the menu. The creamy pastas are so creamy and the olive oil pastas are so light and refreshing. The seafood is very fresh and the bread they serve is so fresh and fluffy as well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The store is a little small but the ambiance is so cozy but elevated.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service is amazing too! All the staff members are so kind and attentive. Highly recommend!
[[HIGHLIGHT]]Really cute and neat Japanese flavored Italian restaurant - small place with really dimmed light during the night.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Inside looks like maximum occupancy about 20.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] And service was really fast , order taken and food served within 5 minutes. The restaurant provided its in house bread, fresh and yummy. Tried both red and Japanese style white sauce, personally really liked the white Japanese style sauce. The red sauce lacks flavor and blandly tomato, also the spinach inside didn't seem to mix well with the sauce. The price is reasonable and overall 4 stars. Recommended for friends and family , also family with carb / pasta cravings.
I've been to the Little Tokyo location, but this one was just as great. It wasn't busy on a weekend afternoon and we were seated immediately. Came here for Japanese Italian fusion so we had to order the Uni and Mentai Cream Pasta. Typically a lot of uni pastas I've tried elsewhere tend to be light and a bit dry, without enough uni flavors but this has all the rich uni cream sauce with fresh uni on top. The mentai pasta was also very delicious, with great cod roe texture and mushrooms. Both dished were super enjoyable! They also provide complimentary warm bread and butter and a small salad with dressing.
Something about Japanese Italian fusion makes it one of my favorite dishes to eat. I recently went to Pasta E Pasta with my friend after she introduced me to it. Lunch time was off to a great start with their complimentary side salad + bread roll with butter! Both were tasty and held me down for their delicious pasta to come. There are olive oil and a spicy oil that you can accompany with your pasta. Uni Pasta (4/5): The uni pasta sauce was a light creamy base mixed in with the uni. I thought the dish was slightly more umami but perhaps cooking it may enhance the flavor more. Bolognese (4.5/5): Red sauce was aromatic and meaty, but not overwhelming. Every bite had bits of meat and is filling and hearty. I enjoy tomato sauces much more after this dish! Our lunch here was amazing to say the least! I thought our service was checked upon frequently, and the staff is welcoming and friendly. A follow and a post on their Instagram will get you 10% off. I'd highly recommend this for Japanese-Italian pasta in Cerritos, you will definitely have those cravings satisfied!
This has been on my list forever! The uni pasta was pretty good, but there was barely any uni to be seen. Marugame Monzo is still my go-to for my uni pasta fix! My sister got the creamy mentai pasta dish, and that is what I'd order next time - perfect balance of creaminess, sweetness, and slight spiciness. The pasta dishes all come with bread and salad, which is a nice touch.
I have been a loyal customer here for over three years because I genuinely enjoy the food. Unfortunately, one employee, a young woman with glasses, has repeatedly treated us poorly and made us feel unwelcome. During two separate visits, she brought our drinks, salad, and other items to the table roughly and with a visibly unpleasant attitude. At first, we thought she might simply be having a bad day, so we ignored it. However, the same behavior happened again. On one visit, I asked for the 10% Instagram discount. I understand the restaurant may require customers to follow the page and post about the food. I had already posted the restaurant, tagged them, and even kept it in my Instagram highlights. Instead of politely explaining the policy and giving me a moment to open the post myself, she stared directly at my phone the entire time like a teacher watching a student during an exam. The interaction felt confrontational and embarrassing, especially when other tables began looking at us. After these experiences, we stopped dining in and only ordered pickup. Even then, when freeway traffic caused me to arrive about 10 minutes later than expected, she immediately said that I had told her 20 minutes but arrived in 30, so the food might no longer taste the same and that I should check it. Even I had not complained about the food at all. The comment felt like an unnecessary warning meant to scold or intimidate a customer rather than provide helpful service. The food is still good, which is why I have supported this restaurant for years. However, no customer should be treated this way. The restaurant should seriously review this employee's attitude and the level of customer service being provided.
I've been meaning to try this place for a while, but hadn't had the chance until now. My friends were visiting and wanted to eat here since they've been to the other location and were curious to see which one was better. This location is in the plaza next to the super busy one on South, and I'm so glad it's a separate plaza because parking is much easier here. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant itself is pretty small, so it has limited seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] On especially busy days, you might have to wait a bit to get seated. I wouldn't recommend walking in with a large party due to the limited number of tables; maybe calling ahead to check wait times would be a good idea. Since the space is small, you do have to wait outside if it is busy. Fortunately, we arrived just before a bunch of other parties, so our wait wasn't too long; it was about a 10 minute wait for a table to be cleaned and set. Once seated and after ordering, they brought out the bread and salad. The bread was warm, which was a nice touch. The salad was also good. It was slightly vinegary for one of my friends, but my other friend and I thought it was refreshing. I ordered the Japanese-style mentai cream pasta, and it was really good. My friends ordered different pasta dishes, and I tried theirs as well; they were equally delicious. The cod roe added a nice depth to the creamy sauce. I also really loved the added mushrooms. The portion size was generous. I was completely stuffed by the end of the meal. Overall, a solid plac,e and I do want to try other dishes here.
This restaurant is well worth the hype! I'm so glad they expanded to this location so I no longer need to go to Little Tokyo to enjoy these noodles. We came right when it opened on a weeknight and there was no wait. Here's what we got: Mentai Cream Japanese Style ($22) The cod roe cream sauce absolutely blew my mind! It had a umami of seafood flavor and it wasn't too heavy. The noodles were cooked al dente and gripped onto the sauce really well. Every bite was heavenly with the mushrooms and I wanted to savor every bite! Beef Ragu Sauce Spaghetti ($25) Generous portions of meat and noodles! The red sauce had good flavors and wasn't too overpowering. My partner really enjoyed this! Overall, I would 100% come back! The pasta dishes were uniquely delicious and came with a refreshing salad, warm bread and butter. Pasta e Pasta has literally been sitting in my bookmarks for years, so when the Cerritos location opened, it seems like it was meant to be. I've missed my opportunity to check out Pasta e Pasta in little Tokyo due to the long wait times but now that they have a suburb sister I was finally able to try their tried and true freshly made pasta with uni. The quality in their craft has been mastered, a small menu with perfected items literally can't be beat. I can say that the uni pasta is a wonderfully crafted dish, salty, creamy, umami flavors that would make you go back for more.
Visited on a weekend afternoon, and fortunately, there was no wait whatsoever. My partner and I were seated pretty immediately and had our order taken shortly. After ordering and before receiving our food, we were served some complimentary bread & butter and small salads with dressing. These were nice to have as an appetizer as well as alongside our pasta dishes. Best thing here is for sure the Mentai Cream Japanese style pasta. The cod roe and mushrooms were super delicious and mixed amazingly well with the creamy sauce. I also liked that this pasta didn't feel too heavy to eat. As for the Tomato Cream Sauce with Shrimp and Spinach pasta, it was just ok. There were only a few pieces of shrimp that had a rough texture, while the tomato sauce tasted like something I could just get from a can at the grocery store - nothing special. One thing I would look out for is to make sure you're being charged correctly. When our order was taken, the employee didn't write it down. She just noted it in her head. When we asked to pay the check, she then charged us for some expensive pastas that we didn't order. I pointed it out and got it fixed. Their process for inputting orders is just strange to me, but not a big deal.
Japanese-Italian fusion... in a laidback casual setting?! Say less. The pasta here is out of this woooorld! And the authentic Japanese kill-you-with-kindness service was top notch. Before the meal started, we received appetizers of bread and salad (these were average tasting), but of course the stand outs were the entrees. We ordered the Uni Pasta, the Bacon and Mushroom with Gorgonzola cream sauce, and the Mentai cream Japanese style. All of the pastas were perfectly al dente and the cream sauces were decadent and coated the pasta really well. My favorite was the Bacon and mushroom with Gorgonzola cream sauce! It was a flavor bomb of umami in every bite. Definitely a plate to share because of the richness, but soo worth a try! Honestly can't go wrong with any of the pastas in a cream sauce. Next time I'd love to try their marinara based pastas. Would definitely come back to this location again!
Located in Cerritos, a cute pasta shop in a moderate size plaza with free parking. Although a small shop, there's plenty of tables inside for diners including some counters for solo diners. Had to visit with my partner on a weekend since we were both interested in the shop. This restaurant gets packed during peak hours, so do come early or plan accordingly. There's no reservations. Staff here is pretty friendly and quick, our orders were taken pretty quickly since we had look at the menu beforehand. It's pretty cool that they provide complimentary bread w/ butter along with a side of salad as a appetizer. 1. Mentai Cream Japanese Style Pasta Seems like bulk of the diners order this menu item and I can tell why. The flavor is absolutely exceptional. Mouthful of flavor. The cream sauce mixed with the pasta makes each slurp very delicious and addicting. Presentation is gorgeous and for a pasta this good, I wish the portions were a bit bigger, but pretty fulfilling nonetheless. 2. Tomato Cream Sauce with Shrimp and Spinach To compliment the first dish, this was a good alternate. The tomato sauce is very flavorful and creamy. The pasta itself is also pretty well made, blends well with the sauce. Did wish they provided a bit more shrimp but very delicious regardless. Overall, a nice small pasta restaurant that has very delicious pasta dishes. As of October 2025, there's a 10% off if you post and follow their instagram. Highly recommend to visit whenever in the area as I'm very interested in visiting again to try other pastas.

Went for a early dinner for my parents birthday. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Comfy and homey vibe inside the restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Luckily we were able to avoid the line but even at the earlier time, the restaurant was filled! Understandably so, all the dishes were delicious. We tried three different pastas, ranging from tomato, oil based, to cream. All the food came out piping hot and the flavor delivered! We stopped by after church and there was no wait. Got seated right away. Once we got seated, there was an unpleasant smell that we almost left but stayed because they served us water already. Service was good. We ordered the mentai and bolognese. Rich and decadent sauces. The taste was decent. The meal came with two bread rolls and salad which we didn't expect. The salad dressing was tasty. Overall for my personal preference it was okay. read more
After recently trying the Little Tokyo location, I finally got to try the Cerritos location. Came on a Friday evening for dinner ~7:15PM and there was actually no wait for a group of 5--maybe the hype has died down, but I'm not complaining! It's still as good as I was always told. For the main course I got the tomato cream with spinach and shrimp; they give you plenty of pretty big shrimp. The tomato cream sauce I would say isn't super creamy (it's more tomato-y than creamy), so if you're looking for something really cream based you may want to opt for the other options. It still tastes primarily like a tomato sauce. But, it was still bright, robust, and delicious! Food came out very fresh and hot tasting, and presentation was good. We shared the chicken gizzard in confit which was quite interesting and pretty tasty, goes pretty well with the bread they give you; if you don't like chicken gizzard though you probably won't like it. That reminds me once of a date I went on where there was chicken gizzards on the menu. My date was like, "what the heck are those?" I responded that I used to eat gizzards as a kid a lot. Unfortunately, it was loud in the restaurant and she said, "...you used to eat... what?" "Gizzards!" I replied, to which she said "WHAT?! why would you tell me that?". Later on that night she told me I should go see a therapist for what happened to me, to which I was very confused. But, at least she walked away knowing what gizzards are. Anyways, parking can be tricky in this lot when it's busy, but you should be able to find parking somewhere. Service was great and the food came out really fast (much like the Little Tokyo location!) Super cute, small place in Cerritos. We came on a weekday around the evening time and for a party of 2 was no wait. We had heard of Pasta e Pasta, but the LA location - so we were excited to try a location so close to home. They provided bread and a salad, and we ordered the Carbonara Pasta and the Beef Ragu. Both were really yummy. The carbonara was a large portion size, and very creamy. We really liked this place, and will come back soon! read more
Pasta e Pasta is always so consistent with their pasta and I can always count on them to satisfy the pasta craving. I'm so glad they have this location in Cerritos, closer to OC, so we don't always have to make a trek to little Tokyo to devour some tasty Japanese Italian pasta. A classic is always the mentai cream, but it can be a little on the heavier side, considering all the cream. Though, I do appreciate the amount of mushroom that is piled into the pasta. If you're looking for something lighter, the bolognese is a great option for a red sauce pasta. All pasta comes with the side salad and bread roll to begin the meal. They have chili oil on the table, which provides a nice spice flavor - usually chili oils don't have much of a spicy factor, but this one does and we love it! The restaurant is a small shop so it can get busy during peak hours, though the employees are always super quick and attentive. read more
I wanted to try this pasta place and I'm so excited that they opened a location in Orange County besides their Little Tokyo location. The interior is very warm and cozy despite the unassuming parking lot it's located in. I was seated right away on a Wednesday at 7pm. We ordered the Beef Ragu and the Mentaiko Cream. Both were solid pastas across the board. The beef in the Beef Ragu was a little tough to chew through but I loved the sauce and the noodles weren't greasy at all. The Mentaiko Cream was also solid, not too heavy. The portions are HUGE, I couldn't finish in one sitting. I enjoyed my experience at Pasta e Pasta and would love to try more of their pastas in future. read more

I loved my experience here at Pasta E Pasta. The restaurant is small, yet cozy and charming. The server was very friendly and quick - props to him because I think he's the only one running the floor. Food was absolutely perfect. We started with the creamy crab gratin. The crab was very flavorful and went well with the piping hot cheese. There's bits of penne pasta inside, but I also liked spreading it on my bread. The Uni pasta was phenomenal. The uni paired well with the creamy sauce and everything was seasoned beautifully. It was very easy to eat - sometimes pasta is too rich that it's hard to power through. Not this pasta. This pasta is perfect. The noodles are al dente. The sauce is just right. The pasta here is truly amazing. I love sea urchin, and when I order their uni cream pasta the flavor of the uni comes through beautifully. The pasta is perfectly al dente and the texture is just right. It tastes just like the delicious pasta shops you find in Japan. I also heard that they will open a location in Torrance at the end of November, and I am already very excited. I love this pasta so much that I feel like I could eat it every day. When I have a meal I like to drink good water, and I sometimes wish the water they serve had a little something added to make it pair even better with the pasta. A hint of lemon or lime would make it perfect. The staff member who helped us and the head chef were both extremely kind. He even shared some details about the new Torrance location. He said it will open near the Tokyo Central mall on PCH, where the former Honda restaurant used to be. The Cerritos location feels small and cozy, which I really like, but he mentioned that the Torrance restaurant will be a bit larger and will offer a wider selection of drinks as well. read more
It was my first time here and it's one of the best pasta spots I had in OC! The service was friendly and we were able to get seated within 5 minutes of arriving on a Friday night. The interior is pretty small so I'd recommend coming earlier. The ambiance is nice and they had music playing. We got the Mentaiko and Squid Ink pasta and both were so delicious. The chunks of squid were so chewy and both pastas were really creamy. Highly recommend this place! read more
My new favorite pasta place! Japanese Italian pastas never disappoint, but Pasta e Pasta is definitely one of the best! The restaurant is on the smaller side, so there can be a wait, and a line usually forms outside before opening. The immediate lot can get pretty packed, but if you go around to the back there is some more parking available there (sometimes, since this is a shared lot as well). The Uni (Sea Urchin) Pasta is one of their signature dishes. It's tossed in a rich uni cream sauce with fresh uni on top. So delicious! They also have a Mentai Cream Japanese Style pasta with roe and mushrooms that's great as well. If you're looking for more of a tomato-based sauce pasta, the Tomato Cream Sauce with Shrimp and Spinach and the Beef Ragu Sauce Spaghetti are two of my favorites. The Beef Ragu has lots of tender chunks of beef that fall apart easily. One thing I love about all of their pastas is the texture--they get the perfect al dente every time. Every pasta dish comes with a house salad (the dressing is delicious) and bread. Great spot that I recommend to all of my friends and family! read more
My first Pasta e Pasta experience was at the Little Tokyo location and it was my favorite pasta ever. I was so happy to find out they have this location as it's closer and much bigger than the Little Tokyo location! My party and I got there 30 minutes before opening and were first in line. We were sat immediately upon opening and ordered our entrees, drinks and appetizers in one-go. I'm happy to report everything here tastes just as good as the Little Tokyo location and the service was perfect. If you've never had Japanese pasta before then you have to visit Pasta e Pasta. My go-to is the Mentai creamy pasta & we also ordered the crab meat gratin for the appetizer. It's all delicious and rich in flavor, but also portioned just right. I'm looking forward to visiting this location again and would recommend this location because parking is much easier and it's roomier! read more
Pasta e pasta is one of my go-to pasta places! Super simple menu but I love it because I'm really indecisive and no matter what I get it's always good. I recommend the uni pasta, mentai cream pasta, and arrabiata. I will say, though, the last time I went the seafood did taste a little fishy, but other than that every experience I've had during the other 6+ times I've been here has been amazing. Service is great, food comes out really fast, and they have a pretty good wine menu too! read more

Every dish is incredibly flavorful, perfectly cooked, and absolutely comforting. Whether you're in the mood for a classic or something with a unique Japanese twist, their menu has something that hits the spot. If you're in the area, this place is a must try. Came here on a Friday night and there was a small wait. The place is very tiny but cozy with a nice Japanese aesethic. There was a wait when we had finished dinner as the place is very small. I ordered the mentai pasta and added shrimp for some extra protein. The dish came out piping hot and the mentai was mixed throughly throughout the dish which gave it a slightly fishy flavor for the pasta. I could see the flavor being a turn off if you don't like fishy things. The shrimp was nice and tender with great flavor. The pasta itself was light and had a light bounce to the noodles. My friend ordered the uni pasta that I got to try as well. It had a good flavor and the uni tasted fresh. Overall, for the price and portion size this is a great place to stop by for some pasta! read more

The food was wonderful. We had the arrabbiata, uni pasta and the carbonara. And each on was delicious. The wine complemented each dish. Make sure you reserve before hand. We did not have a reservation but were happy to sit at the bar. We had great serve with awesome food. read more
If you love Japanese-Italian fusion, Pasta e Pasta by Allegro is a must-try. This spot focuses on pasta, and they do it really well. Our meal started with a complimentary salad and bread with butter. The bread was just okay, but the salad was fresh and crisp--a nice way to start. We sat at the bar, which I highly recommend since you get to watch the chefs work their magic. For our appetizer, we ordered the Crab Meat Gratin. It was rich and cheesy, and they did not skimp on the crab. The slightly burnt aroma from the torch added an extra depth of flavor that made each bite even better. Then came the pastas. We started with the Mentai Cream Japanese Style, a perfect blend of cod roe, mushrooms, and a Japanese-style cream sauce over al dente spaghetti. It had a rich, umami-packed flavor, and the dried seaweed on top added the perfect seasoning. The balance of creamy, salty, and briny was just chef's kiss. Next, we had their specialty Uni Pasta, and honestly, I don't even know where to begin. It looked simple--just spaghetti, cream, and fresh uni on top--but the flavor was out of this world. The uni was buttery and rich, melting into the pasta, which was perfectly al dente. It was creamy, indulgent, and everything you could want in a luxurious pasta dish. The portions were generous, which was a huge plus for me. I love when a nice restaurant doesn't skimp on serving size--quality and quantity together is always a win. We were way too full for dessert, but every dish we had was absolutely perfect. Service was okay; I had to call someone over every time I needed a water refill, but that minor issue didn't take away from the overall experience. Sad to see the previous Japanese restaurant go because they made one of my favorite dishes, but Pasta e Pasta is lowkey a culinary experience for high quality Italian-Japanese inspired pasta. I didn't know they had multiple locations, so it's pretty cool to have a high caliber pasta spot where the ingredients are high quality and sourced from Italy and where you can enjoy a nice date with their multitude of wines. The uni pasta was my favorite and it was generously sized and tipped with creamy and fresh uni. The noodles were firm but with the right amount of chew. It's a nice atmosphere for an intimate gathering and it's reassuring that we have such a unqiue option for our pasta cravings when we want something fancy. read more
Came at 12:10 PM on a Saturday and we waited ~5 minutes to be seated at a table. Service was super friendly and attentive, and the interior is clean, spacious, no frills. Ordered: uni pasta, seafood pasta, and squid ink pasta. I thought it was impressive how consistently al dente the noodles were cooked, and the sauce ratio for each was absolutely perfect. The three pastas also tasted super distinct from one another because of their different sauces, and portion size was reasonable as well. My favorite was the uni cream pasta--the uni was sweet and creamy, not fishy, and the sauce subsequently had such a buttery melt-in-your-mouth mouthfeel which was pleasant with the chew of the noodles. Stopped by for Friday night dinner 4/3. Waited about 20 mins for a table and got seated. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was medium loud, every table busy with their own conversation.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Carbonara had a nice creamy sauce but flabby bacon (I thought carbonara was supposed to be made with crispy bacon/pancetta) :( service was okay, a gentleman working that reminded me of Alex Wolff looked so mad whenever we'd ask for anything didn't speak to us, just kinda walked away to grab whatever we asked for and would quietly set it down and walk back away. I work in downtown so this place was on my list but I'd most likely not be back because of the service (unless it's bought for me). read more

LOVE it! We just tried out Pasta e Pasta by Allegro in Cerritos on Black Friday after we went to the Los Cerritos Center mall. Glad I found this authentic Japanese cuisine and we felt as if we were in Japan again. They have another location in Little Tokyo that was opened in 2017 and one in Irvine called Sushi Izakaya Jinbei opened in 2014. This one in Cerritos was opened in 2022. They first opened in Japan in 2006 and now they have 28 shops in Japan Hyogo and Osaka, including 3 in Southern California. It was such a cute and small Japanese cuisine and all the staff were courteous and attentive even though they were busy. We ordered the following: 1. Uni (sea urchin) pasta $28 (ALLEGRO special rich Uni cream sauce with fresh Uni on top) 2. Beef Ragu sauce spaghetti $25 (beef, onion and tomato original ragu sauce) 3. This is a really cute pasta place! It's kinda small and tucked in a plaza in little Tokyo. there's a provided parking lot for the plaza, but I was charged $6 to park there. We sat at the bar and were served bread and butter paired with a simple salad, which I absolutely loved. We ordered their bolognese, uni pasta, and mentai pasta. Flavors were solid but I personally don't like the thinner spaghetti. My favorite dish was the bolognese. Would definitely come back to try their other items. read more

What I ordered: - Uni pasta If you haven't tried Japanese-Italian fusion food, this is a good place to start. A lot of places attempt cooking uni pasta, but this place does it the best. This is a must try pasta spot! The servers were attentive despite the busy Saturday night. For a walk in party of two it took us about 35-40 minutes to be seated. There's spots around the area you can check out while you wait. The food was spot on! We ordered the uni and carbonara and let me tell you, one of the best pastas I've ever had. The serving size was perfect for the price tag! You also receive a salad and bread with your dish. The bread was nice and warm! I'm normally not one to finish my pasta dish, but it stood no chance. From the creaminess to the flavor profile the salt from the uni made my dish delectable! I also enjoyed that if you sat at the bar area, you're able to see them make your dish :)!! Nice feature. Cozy little Japanese Italian pasta place. Wanting pasta after a late afternoon Drs appt. Being fans of Spoon House in Gardena, we were excited to try this place. SOOO HAPPY we dined here! The waitstaff was very helpful guiding two food obsessed ladies on entree choices. Starts with a simple spring mix salad with a yummy onion housemade dressing. Salad refills are also gratis. As are the ciabatta rolls. Ordered the crab gratin (with real crab) appetizer. Creamy cheesy white sauce, mini penne pasta with crab broiled briefly. Perfect. 5/5. Couldn't decide on pasta so we ordered three! 1) Bolognese-classic with eggplant slices. Bacony, not over dressed, Al dente pasta. This was great. A little too bacony (?) just my preference. 4/5. 2) Peperoncini with squid & mushrooms. A simple "nothing" type dressed pasta. Pasta was perfect Al dente, squid lightly sautéed, just the right amount of garlic, olive oil lightly dressed pasta. 5/5. 3) Mentai creamy Japanese style pasta was my fav. Perfect pasta, great creamy sauce with mentaiko. Since we ordered so much, my third helping of this pasta wasn't as hot. Maybe we can stagger ordering next time. This place was absolutely WONDERFUL. Or course there will be a next time. Each dish we tried was just OUTSTANDING. We are older and have eaten really great perfect food over the years. Now that this is on our radar, we'll be back. I was excited to learn that Pasta e Pasta opened a second restaurant in Cerritos, and I finally made my way over after the initial crowds died down. (FYI the original location is in Little Tokyo). The Cerritos restaurant is on the smaller side, so seating is limited. Fortunately, my friend and I were able to grab their last free table when we went on a Sunday afternoon. After perusing the menu, I stuck with one of the traditional pastas as opposed to their fusion dishes, most of which had seafood in them (which I don't eat). The carbonara was rich and creamy, and I loved pairing it with their chilli oil (found on each table) to give the pasta a nice heat. The portions were quite generous as well. All in all, it was a delicious and incredibly filling meal. ****************** My Ratings: 1 Star: Terrible; just thinking about it makes me angry. 2 Stars: Wasn't a fan so Not likely to return. 3 Stars: Meh. Located in s small strip mall with limited parking. This restaurant serves Japanese inspired pasta using Japanese ingredients like Uni, mentaiko squid and shimeji mushrooms. There's even a squid ink pasta. They split the menu into red sauce, cream sauce and olive oil and garlic sauce. Food is well executed and the wait for the meal is moderate. I came here to meet up with some friends. The restaurant itself is somewhat small, so there we had to wait a while, but it's not overly crowded once you get inside. I love Italian food and I love Japanese food, so the idea of combining the 2 cuisines was interesting and did not disappoint. I ordered the Mentai because so many people recommended it on Yelp. It is creamy, kinda like Alfredo but with roe so it has a unique taste. The dish is a bit pricey for what it is worth, but they do give you a salad and fresh bread with your order. This is my fifth or so time eating here. Japanese and Italian, my two favorites! Have tried a few different dishes out. I recommend their Mentai pasta. This with the piccante sauce and table rolls are absolutely amazing. The sea urchin bacon and mushroom pastas are amazing. How long to wait for a Saturday dinner for 10 people?
You might wait a while because it's a small restaurant. Maybe call the day before and ask if they can accommodate/make a reservation for you?
The wait at the LA location is crazy long. We waited for over an hour. How long is the wait on a Sunday for lunch if you arrive before they open? I want to bring my mom, but she's 83 and can't wait for too long. Thanks!
You really have to get in line before it opens at 11:30am on a sunday. She can stay in the car until you can get in? We usually try to be at the parking lot about 10mins before it opens for lunch or dinner, just so we don't have to wait to be seated.
