Came here a couple weeks ago had the short rib sandwich and the girlfriend got a create your own pasta with pesto and sausage. The sandwich was absolutely incredible, the short rib was tender and flavorful the melted provolone was incredible, even the bread was amazing. Her pasta was amazing perfectly al dente even the little things like the Parmesan they give you was on point! I've been dying to go back and luckily am heading there for dinner tonight! read more

Amazing. My family just recently moved to Orange. My Birthday was yesterday and I wanted to try something different, I had driven by this location several times and I was intrigued. Worst case scenario I'd have a good story to tell, this wasn't a worst case scenario. At all. The building has a 70s, strip mall, hole in the wall feel. There's some advertisement flags and a sandwich board outside, but what drew me in was the crappy sign on the building that just said "Pasta Party." The interior is as lackluster as the exterior. If it had a couple arcade games in the back corner I would have thought I was in a cheap trattoria in the 80s again. Plain tables and chairs, some posters on the walls of pasta and Italy, some paintings, nothing remarkable but theres a really familiar and cozy feeling to the restaurant. The menu was fairly straight forward. You had pizza options, pasta options, some signatures dishes, salads etc. I came here for a pasta party and thats what I ordered. I ordered the Beef braised pasta, my wife ordered a chop salad, and we ordered a chicken parm for our daughter. This is my only complaint, and it turned out to be a blessing. There is no kids menu and we had arrived to early in the afternoon to be able to order pizza by the slice. I asked the gentlemen at the counter about it and he suggested ordering a chicken parm since it came with a small side of spaghetti. I was a little bent about it but went with the flow. That chicken parm was amazing. It was cooked so well you didnt even need a knife to cut the chicken, it was like butter. After I devoured my beef braised pasta my wife and I destroyed the chicken parm. We were the only people dining that early in the day. The head chef came out to ask about our food. He was an extremely kind and likeable person. My wife told him we came for my birthday and he brought out a slice of and extremely well made and moist tiramisu. Everything that Pasta Party lacks in aesthetic pizazz it makes up for in flavor and warmth. The entirety of the staff is accommodating and welcoming. They genuinely care about their diners experience and their food is on point. Don't take my word for it, go out and try it. You wont be disappointed. Ordered chop salad with added chicken and it barely had any meat, not filling at all. Ordered spaghetti with meatballs and it literally comes with 1 meatball. Very bizarre. Who on earth orders spaghetti with meatballs and expects one single meatball?? That was a first. Lasagna barely had any meat too. For the price point, feels bad to get skimped so hard on protein. If you want a boat load of carbs that are tasty then this place might work for you. If you want decent portions of protein then you will be sorely disappointed. Ordered online and my wife was heartbroken to open her spaghetti and see one sad, lonely meatball. Have eaten all over Italy and never seen anything like this. Meatball sub was very tasty, delicate texture with fresh sauce and a large portion on the big size sandwich. The roll was a bit dense, but it held up to the job. Sausage was also very flavorful- love the sweet fennel taste and peppers with melty cheese. The Caesar salad was not my favorite- really pronounced anchovy aroma and taste in the dressing, I know it's traditional but a little goes a long way in the balance of flavors. ***This is a dine in review as most reviews are take out*** We came here on a whim on a weekday night, because of the great reviews. Ordered a Caesar salad, eggplant Parmesan, chicken Parmesan and one bottle of wine. We ordered, paid and tipped at the counter before we sat ourselves to an open table of our choice. Upon paying, our cashier asked if we would like our bottle of wine now or with dinner. Now of course ;) We sit and are promptly served a hefty basket of fresh and delicious bread, but with one minuscule prepackaged piece of butter that wouldn't cover even one slice of bread. And even if we did get as much butter as our hearts desired, we had no butter knife to apply it with. So after my boyfriend took the one and only peanut m&m sized butter and applied it with a fork to his bread we just shrugged it off in anticipation for some wine that we were told would arrive soon. Not long after we had a few pieces of bread we were served a big shareable size of Caesar salad that was quite good. However, this bountiful plate of salad was in fact the only dishware we had received up until this point besides the fork. We considered just mutually eating off this plate but didn't want to be barbaric, so I got up and requested two plates. I thought "oh, a simple mistake," but after overhearing another couple behind us requesting forks with their pasta dish that they were going to share, I started to wonder if perhaps the server was new. But I need not wonder anymore after turning around and seeing that the couple was also only given the single dish that was being shared by two and after watching a young lady next to us have to get up and go to the counter to request a knife for her dish. I need not wonder anymore because it can only be that the three high school aged employees running the show were trying to save time after closing by not having to wash dishes. Because, if that's not the case, how on earth can three tables not be served silverware, plates or water at a restaurant? Moving on, as we had finished our bread and had finished our second plate of salad we thought "where is that wine that we were told would be here before our meal?" So I pop up from my seat and stroll over to the counter once again, and asked if we we could possibly receive the bottle of wine. I was responded to with a sentence that absolutely confused me and left me only to mumble "Oh OK no problem " in response because I couldn't comprehend what I was told. So, as I repeated the sentence to myself in my head on my walk back, I sat down and had to seek help in deciphering the response. "Yes, I know. I'm sorry we had a influx. We are trying to get it popped now but are having an issue. We will get it to you soon." As promised...10 minutes later, the young man arrived with our bottle of wine with a corkscrew halfway into the cork and placed it on our table. He then began to twist and pull and twist and pull as he told us "I am sorry, this is my first time ever doing this." Luckily, to save the day, as the awkwardness was getting too much to bare, a coworker or perhaps classmate came to lend a hand. Unfortunately, he too had evidently never done this before because they apologized and said they "we're going to take this over there" and proceeded to take the bottle away to another table and double-team the effort to open our bottle of wine. And 30 minutes after ordering it....Success! We have wine. Not too long after that, we received our main dishes with of course no knife to cut our chicken and eggplant but all is well. The fork pulled through for us before with the butter and it could do it again. Parmesan cheese would have been a nice addition to our meal, but given the struggle so far, we didn't want to push our luck. And that would essentially conclude our visit. I have to say the food was just as good as I was expecting and hoping it to be. I finished every bite as I am not normally one to do. All the little hiccups were definitely first world problems, but they killed the vibe. Although it was quite entertaining and provided us with a lot of quiet laughter, I would say an amazing place for a takeout order but sub par for a dine in experience. For a nearly $100 dinner for two I would expect a little bit more order and professionalism. The food gets a 4 star but everything else about it made it a 2. read more

It's a small spot on the corner of Lincoln and Glassell but this place is oh so good! We've ordered from there for pick up several times already, ordering several pastas AND always a 16" deluxe pizza! I normally don't like eating the pizza crust but at Pasta Party it's perfectly crispy on the outside and chewy goodness on the inside. They put both mozzarella and fresh mozzarella in addition to their super fresh toppings! The Bolognese sauce on the Build Your Own Menu is so rich with the right amount of grease. It's the perfect blend of acid and fat on their al dente noodles! The arrabiata sauce is my husband's favorite. Tangy tomato and a mouth warming spice... not insane heat. I REALLY want to try the cacio e pepe but I imagine that's a dish best eaten as soon as it's served and may not travel well. Can't wait for normalcy and eat indoors and have lots of Cacio e Pepe!! Saved the best for last... the Lasagna!!!! A multitude of layers and tomato-y, meaty, cheesy, creamy goodness! My family and I have pizza one night each week, and we've tried a lot of different places. Pasta Party is our favorite though. They have the best tasting pizza. We like the meat lover's a lot; it comes with sliced meatballs. They dress the crust with olive oil and garlic on all of their pizzas, which makes it extra tasty. We've ordered take out 3 times. Each time is delicious. Tends to be a little on the oily side but it sinks to the bottom of the dish so easy to avoid.
