I feel so lucky to have been here. I feel like this is a local secret, so I was with a local and now I know the secret! This place is on a random corner in Lincoln Square right above the train. I ordered the Chorizo skillet. It's basically a bed of potatoes, chorizo, corn, onions, and an egg (mine was over medium) on top. Sounds super simple, but insanely flavorful. Each bite giving you something a little a different. I had the opportunity to sample from others at the table and the pork sausage was not average it was AMAZING. Definitely good quality on the sausage. I didn't get a change to taste the French toast, but it equally looked amazing and it came with a toasted marshmallow and edible sticks - cool right. Indoor seating seemed crowded. But outdoor was super breezy and nice. Staff was amazing, friendly, and really good vibes. I will definitely eat like a local next time in town. Amazing spot for brunch! BYOB but if you forget there are some amazing cocktails, coffees and house made smoothies! Service was fantastic. Everyone working made sure we were happy and satisfied with our meal. The food selection was vast for brunch including lots of sandwiches, standard breakfast options and Mexican themed specials. When friends suggested it for brunch, I had never heard of it but was intrigued by the menu. The place isn't huge, taking over the butcher shop that was once there and they don't take reservations. That said, we were fortunate to be seated pretty quickly. They are BYOB and kindly brought a tub of ice for us. They had some specials, but I went with the molletes. We'd planned to order the crepes as a sweet dish to split, but saw the stuffed french toast at the table next to us and went with that instead. The molletes were good, I was pleased with my choice. I'd considered ordering a side of breakfast potatoes or a single bao, but am glad I opted against it. We got one of each type of french toast - strawberry, Nutella and sweet ricotta. I liked, but didn't love the french toast. Maybe I missed out because I had end pieces (they are shaped like square logs), I didn't really taste the fillings. I would give it a shot again and split it with someone. Service was warm and friendly. I would definitely come back, there were lots of great things on the menu. read more

If you live in the area and have never been here, you are doing yourself a disservice! What's not to like about a locally owned family restaurant that serves up food with large portions, for an extremely affordable price, with food service? OH, did I mention that they are ALSO a BYOB establishment? Yes, you can buy your own alcohol instead and can literally bring it in from the outside. The food here is very good. I got the Molletes and I was very surprised how good it was. Never had that in my life and it was perfect. Most of the entrees are like $10 and can feed two people depending on the item! All of the staff here are so friendly. I will definitely come back when I'm in Lincoln Square. Be prepared for long wait times, but the area is easy for grabbing a coffee or doing some shopping, so it's by no means a depressing wait. Love this area and establishment! read more

I was looking for an early morning coffee place in Lincoln Square and found this wonderful brunch place that opens at 7am! It has a variety of options like tacos, smoothies, bubble tea, virgin cocktails (it's BYOB so I believe these are the mixers), and baos (Chinese buns filled with goodness). Also, it's $1 coffee if you bring your own mug (coffee was fresh medium roast). I ordered the crepes with spinach, swiss cheese and cremini mushrooms and my husband ordered the stuffed French toast with sausage. Food was tasty and well-priced compared to most brunch places. Service was quick - they saw us outside looking at the menu and someone came outside to greet us. Every other table inside was marked "unavailable" to ensure social distancing, sanitizer by the door, and there were a few outdoor dining tables outside too. Also, the staff wore masks. read more

I ordered delivery from here for Brunch. I tried the Breakfast Burro Tijuana I thought it was good, it's was simple but filling. I liked the salsa on top of it it had a good flavor, it's not spicy. The potatoes were good a little overwhelming for me. I also ordered a side of the stuffed french toast. It was good I wish there more filling and cinnamon in it. A brand new place in the 'hood! I liked Pastores+Brunch because it offers something different from others in Lincoln Square. They do offer dine-in option as long as weather helps and they can have outdoor seating. I tried couple of times and it's nice to see Lincoln Square shoppers passing by. The amount of food in dishes is more than decent and ingredients always fresh and quality. I personally liked chilaquiles verdes with steak. So much meat and so tender. This is a nice, intimate, breakfast/brunch spot. Let me start by saying the customer service is OFF THE CHAIN!!!! Very attentive and friendly staff! Ruben (the owner) is phenomenal. Such a personable guy. The food was not that spectacular. Homemade breakfast. The pancakes could've been sweeter but the potatoes are tasty. My brother absolutely LOVED the Chorizo Skillet so I would recommend it because he rarely explores meals out of his comfort zone LOL. The blueberry lemon smoothie had a tad bit too much ice which kind of took away the flavor. The cappuccino was not sweetened or flavored but the presentation was beautiful. I had the extreme pleasure of having brunch here today. I was greeted so warmly when I arrived - that set the tone for a lovely visit. My friend and I sat outside in their wonderful seating area - perfect weather and people watching. We each ordered an entree and pancakes for the table. I HIGHLY recommend the breakfast tacos - perfectly flavorful brunch bites! I ate all 3 - I just couldn't stop! And the fresh blueberry pancakes were exactly that - such fresh blueberries....delicious! Seriously I cannot say enough about how wonderful this experience was from beginning to end. I'm back in town visiting my family and while looking for lunch spots in the Ravenswood/Lincoln Square area I came across Pastores + Brunch. Everyone I interacted with were really sweet and the place is really cute! Love the decorations. It also seemed to be a family run business, which I can relate to as my family also owns a restaurant. I ordered the fish taco, an al pastor taco (pastor is their staple), and by recommendation of my server the chorizo taco. They also give a small complimentary basket of chips and spicy salsa, which were delicious and fresh! The only reason I'm giving this a 4/5 is because I've had better tacos, but they were all still really tasty and I'd definitely come back! I want to try their more brunch-y items. :-) read more

We met our young married kids here for brunch today and had TJ for our server. She was delightful and so honest about favorites and dishes. She checked on us every so often to see that we were enjoying our meals. The place was full but we didn't have to wait long. The mex Tex frittata and breakfast tacos were our favs! This place is fabulous! Was here for brunch on Saturday with 2 friends. The hostess was very friendly & seated us immediately. I ordered the healthy omelette with fresh veggies & breakfast oven potatoes. So good. Everything tasted so fresh with tons of flavor! After the meal I ordered a banana strawberry smoothie. This place was amazing a perfect combination of Mexican food and delicious coffee service was excellent Carolina was amazing with the recommendations small family owned portions were shareable and a variety of drinks are phenomenal it's BYOB so bring your liking and enjoy a cocktail! People say that Disney Land is the most magical place on Earth. Well, it's not, because Pastore's Brunch exists. For the record, I've never written a review for a restaurant before but I am for this place because it's just THAT damn good. I've been here over a dozen times and tried nearly everything on the menu. Every single item I've tried was a hit. Every. Single. One. I've never come here and been disappointed, on the contrary I leave having had one of the best restaurant experiences of my life and feeling completely full. The portion sizes are excellent, and there is a wide variety of options on the menu. Sweet? Spicy? Just want a classic omelette? Whatever it is Pastore's has you covered and believe me you'll love it. The service is a masterclass too, very homey environment. I'm often a solo diner and like to explore random restaurants a lot, so sometimes it's a bit awkward. Not at Pastore's though, I feel right at home when I'm eating. Most friendly people you could ever ask to order food from really. They go above and beyond to make you feel welcome, and combine that with their magical food you've got THE best brunch spot in Chicago. I'm not kidding, try it you won't regret it I guarantee. I have never regretted a single dollar I've spent here, it's 100% worth. I would sell my left kidney to have Pastore's every day for the rest of my life. It is truly the 8th wonder of the world. I was gonna leave this off with a recommendation for what to order, but I realized that everything here is so quality that's it's really just a matter of personal taste at this point. Pastores + Brunch is a wonderful addition to the neighborhood. They offer a large breakfast and lunch menu with a Mexican theme. You can get breakfast staples such as omelets, skillets, pancakes and waffles, along with Mexican favorites like chilaquiles, breakfast tacos and huevos rancheros. If you're interested in lunch, there are salads, burgers and sandwiches. Even though we came at noon on a weekday, we were interested in the breakfast items. I had an "omelet your way," where I could choose my favorite ingredients. This is ideal for me, because my idea of an omelet is just enough egg to hold the vegetables together. I chose breakfast potatoes for my side and skipped the toast because, believe me, a humongous stuffed omelet with potatoes is plenty food for me! I enjoyed my meal very much. My friend chose the Mexican omelet, which included beans and Chihuahua cheese. She chose fruit for her side. She didn't pick up the plate and lick it when she finished, but the plate was pretty darn clean. I also enjoyed a glass of grapefruit juice. Not sure if it was fresh-squeezed, but it sure tasted like it. The staff are super friendly, accommodating and efficient. Definitely a 5-star experience. I'll be back. read more
