Twp locations are close, Im not sure if my buddy hit this one or the other, all I know is I want to go back. I cant speak to the parking or environment, my friend brought some meat pies to game night and they were a huge hit. Reheat was easy and the gravy is a must. These pies are packed. Ive tried competition to them and was disappointed. This spot knows how to do it. Tasty, filling and great treat, he brought some cherry turnovers too, they also went fast. Ate here twice at this point. It's on my way home from work, and spotted it while pulling in to the burger spot next door. Decided to give them a shot. Let me tell you. Phenomenal. Simple. Delicious. The chicken pasty is like the best pot pie you ever had (get a side of gravy!) the beef is pretty darn good too. Now? Lets talk about the veggie. A vegetarian option has no right being this good. 11/10. Get it. At the time of my visits, they had a chorizo pasty. Very good, albeit a tad heavy. Solid flavor though!! These pies are "ok". I'm not rushing back. I went for corned beef and they had none. Also, their system asks for tip when all they did was had me my $40 order. I noticed a $6.40 tip added to my atm. I don't understand why walk up places even have an option for tipping. Also, bought 5 pies and they shoved them all in a TINY BAG.It ripped open on my way inside my house. Not cool. Apparently Pasty Kitchen has been in this area for such a long time, and although this one I went to was a newer location (closer to me), it still carries on the same name so I had to visit. Although everything I got was delicious, the beef pie by far is my favorite. Especially with the gravy! I ordered 2 chicken, 2 beef, a cherry pie and a peach pie. I found myself driving home regretting the choice of only ordering 2 and immediately wanted to order more. They were super nice here also. It was my first time trying Pasty Kitchen, and I'm so glad I did! I visited the Cypress location today and tried their chicken, beef, and apple turnover. Everything was absolutely delicious! The pasties are perfectly filling, and adding the gravy takes them to the next level--it's the perfect complement. The apple turnover was a standout! It had just the right balance of sweetness, with a slight tartness from the apples that kept it from being too sweet. On top of the great food, the service was excellent. i'd never had an authentic pasty before so i can't attest to how authentic these are to ones in the UK but they were pretty darn good! the workers at this location were also super nice and helpful in answering any questions i had. they work really quick to pack your food fresh too. if you're just looking for a quick cheap on the go bite, this is the place to go. they even sell the pasties frozen if you want to buy some to bring and cook at home! i ordered 2 small chicken pasties and 1 broccoli salad, which came out to about $12.50, which is a really good deal for a lunch for 2! the size of the small pasties is about the size of my hand, and it's packed with meat and veggies and definitely filled me up! the filling of the pasty kind of reminds me of a pate chaud, which is what i grew up eating in my household. i thought it was really good and well seasoned! the pasty shell also had a nice flakiness, it was more soft than crispy, but it was a good amount of thickness without being too doughy. its also really good fresh so i would definitely recommend digging in once you get it. the broccoli salad is also pretty good. i could tell it was made fresh, and i liked that it was mixed with toppings like fresh grapes and some nuts! it is very reminiscent of souplantation's joan's broccoli madness which i absolutely loveee to eat. it was a nice compliment and added a fresh cold bite to the warm meaty pasty! read more

I have been going to the original Pasty Kitchen in Los Alamitos since around 2006, when a coworker turned me on to these delicious hand held pastries stuffed with beef or chicken and vegetables. So I was excited to learn that another location was opening 1 minute away from my parents house! The establishment is larger than the original one; it is nice and bright inside with a modern feel. As other reviewers have mentioned, this location serves as the main kitchen for the Los Alamitos location now. The worker there was very friendly and offered service with a smile while giving us an update on their new location along with forementioned information. We got a couple of large beef and chicken pastys along with several large chicken and beef gravies. I prefer eating the beef pasty with beef gravy, and the chicken pasty with chicken gravy. We also tried an apple turnover. The pastys were as delicious as I remember, the gravy served nice and hot but thankfully not hot enough to burn you. One large pasty and large gravy is more than enough to make a meal for the average person. We liked the turnover as well and will be trying the other ones next time! I went to the Los Alamitos location a long time ago and I always drove by this place so when I had the chance to try it again I stopped by. When you enter it's like a pizza shop with only the register and the menu. The worker who took my order was very knowledgeable they didn't have the Turkey Pasty but I didn't mind it. I ordered the chicken, the vegetable, and the Italian sausage. It looks like they rotate the pasty flavor of the week. What I like about the place is you can see how they are made and they are always kept in a warmer to keep them warm. The worker even gave me a side of the chicken gravy and said you can put it on all the pastys and he was right. When I got home the Pastys were still warm. The chicken was filling and all the potatoes, carrots, onions, and chicken went excellent together. The Veggie one has thick cut vegetables and nothing didn't feel mushy or hard. The Italian was okay the sausage and vegetables were good. I would definitely try something different if I go here again. read more

Wow and delicious. I was around the corner at an early dentist appointment and I've been wanting to stop at Pasty Kitchen and haven't had the chance. I am always passing through with somewhere else to go. After my dentist appointment I headed to Pasty Kitchen and they didn't open until 10am. I didn't want to miss another opportunity to try this place. I was early so I wandered around for a minute and the door was open so I asked the gentleman unloading supplies if it was worth the wait, it has to be worth the wait right?, with that smell of the morning prep cooking. The gentleman, who happened to be the owner introduced himself and asked what I was looking for and went in to ask the crew what was available in the coolingracks. He asked me in and showed me the works and hooked me up with a beef and chicken pasty with both types of gravy. Great price for the amount and quality. I was glad the pay point was working because I used all my cash last night playing air hockey at the bowling alley. The food was better than good and the service was way above expected. Thank you sir for making that first experience at your Pasty Kitchen as great as the food. The crew was very friendly and welcoming as well.
