Fresh vegetable is amazing still good after all these years. Recently also had a frozen large beef which had carrots and onions. In addition... I would order both again stick to the fresh. Mike the owner is a nice guy. This location was bigger no seating though. Next time I would get the Italian.

I've been a fan of Pasty Kitchen and visited the original location in Los Alamitos for years. I'm glad this new location opened up--plenty of parking with the same quality, and friendly service. Every pasty pie tastes homemade and very filling. My favorite is the chicken pasty, but I also enjoy beef and specials like Italian and turkey pasties. I always get a large chicken gravy to add extra flavor and moisture to each bite. The beef gravy is also perfect for the beef pasty. The small size is ideal for me as a meal. There are also salads to pair with the pasty pies. I recently got the macaroni salad, and although I prefer a creamier version, this was enjoyable. You can't forget the cookies and dessert pies that satisfy a sweet tooth. Frozen pies are also available occasionally to warm up throughout the week. Inside, you can see the staff working hard and a counter display with some goodies, but there aren't any seats inside or outside. The only options are to take out, eat in your car, or relax at a park nearby. I am happy to support this long-standing, local business.

Small corner shop with a clean, organized kitchen. The cashier was super friendly, gave great recommendations, and even added gravy for my first pasty experience. I tried the chorizo pasty, corned beef pasty, and an oatmeal cookie. The cookie was perfectly sweet with a nice spice balance. The chorizo pasty was bland and under-seasoned, but the corned beef one was flavorful and paired great with gravy and mustard. Overall, a great bakery--I get the hype and would come back to try more.

After running some errands, it just happened that Pasty Kitchen was right next door! We had to go in, eventhough we just had breakfast. Oink. We picked the special pasty of the day: Chorizo - loaded with chorizo and potato, piping hot and delicious Italian - this reminded me of an Italian beef sandwich with potatoes! So good! Major carb overload but they also had the best broccoli salad which balanced out the snack (or meal) well. We also picked up a Cherry pie was a must as I was totally hankering this past week. Loved this! The cherries were tart, my preference. Great with a latte. Note: So, when Luis put so much care into wrapping up our order, it made me doubly happy to support our neighborhood business. Service was super friendly. PSA: make room in your freezer. Then look for the frozen promo for deals at Pasty!! We come back real soon!

First timer! We were greeted as soon as we walked in and shown all the options. We ordered a variety of Pastys. We were told Beef is their most popular so we ordered 2 small Beef - They were great! 1 small Corned Beef & Cabbage- I loved it. 1 Italian sausage -It was ok just not as good as the Beef or Corned beef. We also ordered a cherry and a peach Pasty both great We ordered some cookies as well Chocolate chip and 2 oatmeal. Both great! Almost forgot I am a potato salad lover and try it anywhere I go so of course Pasty kitchen had their own I needed to try. It was definitely homemade and fresh it was ok. Pretty basic but you could tell it was fresh. All in all we will be back! Im waiting to try the Seasonal Turkey Cranberry and Stuffing Pasty

All I can say is YUM!! I wish this was closer!! Having a pasty while it's hot & fresh and dipped in gravy was one of the best things I've ever eaten!! You can't beat super friendly service and high quality ingredients that you can taste! Love all the cute decor too!! Only problem is that there is no indoor seating- you'll have to enjoy your pasty's in the car!!

What a cute little place! After driving past repeatedly for work, I needed lunch and knew this was a place for me to try. It's a small little shop but there is plenty of parking available in the shared area. Walking up to the door, I noticed a sign on the door showing they have a seasonal turkey pasty with gravy available, so I figured I should try that! Inside it's very small, just big enough for a couple customers at the counter. There is no indoor seating, and instead most of the interior is their kitchen. This is a grab-and-go place. The man at the register was so nice, and especially when I told him it was my first time here, he helped with answering my questions and recommending popular menu items. I ended up ordering the turkey pasty with gravy, a beef pasty, and a cup of broccoli salad. He asked if I wanted gravy with the beef pasty so I asked him if he recommends it with the gravy. He said he would include one for me to try! That was really kind of him, and contributed to the tip I left for his generosity. Everything was delicious and priced well. Turkey pasty with gravy: this had a mix of what I think was ground turkey, herbs and spices you typically use at Thanksgiving, I think some cranberry bits? I'm not sure but it tasted like Thanksgiving. It was good and the gravy was tasty as well! This was not as good as the beef pasty though, so I give it 4/5 stars. Beef pasty: This one is a classic and came recommended on Yelp and by staff, and I can see why! This ended up being my favorite of the two, delicious both with and without the gravy! 5/5 stars Broccoli salad: I am usually cautious of deli sides most places but the man assured my everything is made fresh in house, so I decided I would try this. It is made with fresh broccoli, golden raisins, and I think little walnut or pecan bits all in a lightly sweetened dressing. I was surprised at how much I liked this! I got it so I could actually eat something green since I'm not always great at doing that, and now this may become a repeat purchase on future visits! 4/5 stars Definitely worth a visit for friendly service, delicious food, and a nice warm comforting meal as we slip into some cooler weather! I can't wait to bring my family here with me.

Small corned beef & cabbage with small beef gravy.

This quaint store front is located in a strip mall and is takeout only. Friendly service. Tried a few flavors of the British "handheld pot pies" known as pasties. Tried the: beef, chicken, and corned beef & cabbage, and both the beef and chicken gravy sides (got the small sizes of each). Nice size pasty for a small (about $5), hearty filling. The corned beef & cabbage, and beef with beef gravy were the better tasting with more flavor, over the chicken that was bland, even with the chicken gravy. They also have desserts: cookies and fruit filled turnovers. The peach turnover with no frosting was very good and the best treat of all the pies! I would return to try the other sweet treats.

The pasties are very filling and a huge portion, even for the small size. I really loved the broccoli and macaroni salad. Flavor-wise, the pasties are a bit gamey tasting for me, but I think it boils down to personal preference. These don't taste like empanadas in terms of seasoning. Just salted potatoes, veggies, and meat filling, which you may like if you like plain flavors. Would be great for kids. I liked the beef gravy more than the chicken gravy. It's kind of like KFC's gravy. Excellent and friendly service. Really good value for what you get. No indoor seating. No public restroom. Lots of parking in the lot.

So, on our first visit, 1 meat pie, 2 chicken, beef/chicken gravy and 1 of each turnover flavor (cherry, apple and peach). Pies come out piping hot, so be careful. Beef pie meaty with diced potatoes wrapped in a golden brown wrap. Good by itself, but better with gravy! I'm a gravy sauce kind of person. Chicken pie with carrots, onions and celery. With gravy, a dip able hand held pot pie. Best thing is, if you can't finish, they won't be soggy later and a quick warm up in a hot pan or toaster oven and you're ready to go. Turnovers, each filled with fruit and icing on top. Looks like a Hostess pie, but 10x better. Not overly sweet with a crispy crust. Probably best when consumed hot. Scoop of vanilla ice cream probably wouldn't hurt either. Overall, I'd say a must try for people who enjoy pies. On our return trip, we will try some different pies and sweets.

The food is delicious and I love the cozy feel and detailed theme of the entire restaurant. I arrived before my friend and asked if we could be seated in the dining room. Carrie hesitated and tried to talk me into the bar area. She said the dining room is usually for large parties. That is NOT true. I've been there with just my husband many times, as well as a small group (4). ALWAYS in the dining room, not the bar. She reluctantly seated me in the dining room and there were 2 booths that had only 2 people!!j Throughout our dinner, she commented "You guys are still here?!" "You guys have been here forever!" It was NOT busy or full and not near closing time. There were no "large parties". After I left for a few minutes, my friend told me that Carrie commented AGAIN about how long we were there (we had appetizers, dinner, dessert and tea!) And said it was slow that night but if it was busy as it normally is, she "would have had to kick us out"!!!! And she "just wanted us to know that". Also, the people who were already there when I got seated were "still there" the whole time we were!! I wonder if she said anything to them?? This was my friend's first visit to The Olde Ship. She loved the food and ambiance but said the service ruined it for her.

It came with two large pieces of fish that were nicely fried. The batter wasn't too thick, and the fish itself was tender rather than overly flaky or hard. The texture and overall quality were good, but it was a bit lacking in flavor, even with malt vinegar and tartar sauce. The steak fries were crispy and not overly salty, which I enjoyed. I really tried giving Lawry's an opportunity to redeem themselves, but the lack of urgency on this matter is beyond disappointing. First of all, my family and I have spent an obscene amount of money at Lawry's restaurants. We have referred business here. My best friend is having her wedding reception here next month, and I'm not looking forward to seeing the arrogant manager who had the nerve to correct me on hospitality terminology when praising the "food runner" Ivan who did more for us than the two servers assigned to us. Just accept the compliment and make things right, please. Y'all completely missed the mark on service and quality of food that evening. Be better. That said, My kid was PUKING for three days straight after dining here. The least they could do is apologize for the unfortunate situation and offer to make it better- would it kill them to call? Additionally, I had to go though my friend Todd Johnson, who no longer works for Lawry's to get some sort of contact with the company. I hope to hear from you soon, Laura Ratner. This jewish yenta mom is not going to let this one go... & unfortunately, I have to come back next month for a wedding... you're welcome, your revenue will be a bit better... I hope the service and food isn't as terrible. I would hate for this to happen to anyone else. My poor kid! Lastly, I understand that mistakes can happen. It's the lack of accountability that is truly disappointing re: this situation. I'm not even asking for a refund, just requesting a proper solution to this matter. I Hope to hear from somebody from upper management soon. ---------------------------- I had my birthday here with my family last night. I was disappointed with the service, quality of food, and overall experience. I loved Lawry's and frequented the Beverly Hills location often. (Back when Todd Johnson was in charge) He was amazing and I never had a problem or negative experience when he was with Lawry's. Anyhow, I spoke with the general manager, Eric Ensch, and he didn't seem to care when I directly expressed my concerns. He seemed absolutely insouciant about the situation, therefore I will be reaching out to his boss. Those at the top should be alerted of how things have gone downhill, especially at this location. Let me rephrase: Upper management WILL be notified, so they are aware of the issues as they should rectify the situation(s) IMMEDIATELY. I can go on and on, but it was a very bad experience, and I would NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone. FYI: My daughter got sick from eating the food she ordered, I barely touched mine, and feel sick as well. We essentially paid hundreds of dollars for food poisoning on my BIRTHDAY That said, do yourselves a favor and avoid this restaurant. It is not as good as it once was.

The carpets and walls are "rustic" if you're being generous, but honestly they looked cigarette-stained and filthy. The service was atrocious too. It took nearly THIRTY MINUTES just to get tea. Tea. Not a five-course meal. Then we waited OVER AN HOUR for finger sandwiches that tasted like cafeteria scraps. Most of the food was genuinely awful. The only remotely edible items were the tomato soup, cucumber/egg sandwich, and chicken quiche -- except the quiche wasn't even included and cost an extra $22, which is insane for a place already charging premium prices for mediocrity. The "egg sandwich" was basically stale yellow bread with microscopic traces of egg. And whoever decided HAM AND BLUEBERRY CREAM CHEESE belonged in a finger sandwich needs to be fired immediately. Even the table decor looked terrible. Every table had random mismatched pieces from different sets instead of a cohesive theme, so the whole place just felt cluttered, lazy, and disorganized. Nothing about this experience felt charming or intentional. I waited over an hour to eat garbage in a room that smelled like dust and neglect. Absolutely do not recommend. I wasn't paying, but the experience costed over $100 (including $60 from a groupon).
