I'm very much liking Patra's approach to their inspired cuisine. They're not afraid to experiment with new dishes and everything we've tried has merit. Best, tho, is the great personal service. Nice, too, is the ample parking nearby. Casual ambiance with a bit of upscale class.

Stopped in because of the high reviews....the restaurant was pretty nice for a Thai fusion place with a modern decor and a patio dining area. Service was friendly and efficient. We ordered the Pad Kee Mow with chicken and the Mandalay Curry with Chicken (Yellow curry elsewhere). Additionally, their "iced teas" are of a decent assortment - I had the butterfly pea tea which is not a common find. the Pad Kee mow was good with a light amount of spiciness (very light). The Mandalay curry though was a little more on the watery side... the odd thing about this "fusion" place is that you don't get your usual choice of meats for you dishes-all they have is chicken, tofu or shrimp- maybe cause healthiness?

My Friends and I dined at Patra Dining in Downtown Upland last night. If you are in the mood for Thai Food, give them a try. We started off with chicken pot stickers. They were tasty on their own but the sauce that was included made them just right. I savored every bite. For my main course, I had Pad Prik Sod. It's not on the menu but I happened to mention to Joyce, the owner, that I had tried the dish at another restaurant and liked it. She told me that they could do that for me. Okay, let's do that! It's a beef dish that's cooked with onions and jalapenos. Joyce suggested adding broccoli and carrots so that's what we went with. It was a good combination. Very flavorful. I had white rice on the side. Other dishes ordered included Braised Short Ribs, Pineapple Fried Rice, Thai Barbecue Ribs, Joyce's Salmon (not pictured), and some sort of a yellow curry dish that wasn't on the menu (also, not pictured). I tasted the Braised Short Ribs. The piece of beef that I had, tasted kind of like my mom's beef stew (a good thing). I also tasted the curry dish too. I'm not a huge fan of curry but that wasn't bad actually. I heard that the Thai Barbecue Ribs and Joyce's Salmon were very good too. So, once again, if you are in the mood for Thai Food, I highly recommend Patra Dining in Downtown Upland. Joyce and Steven are both incredibly hospitable, the food is delicious, the ambiance is cozy, and the prices are very reasonable.

Not bad, the wife liked the curry, the ribs were really delicious definitely that was a 5. My noodles were good just not as good as the place I go usually in Eastville. Service was excellent and I believe chief or owner came to check on us and she was really nice. This place was closer to 3.5-3,8 stars.

Okay...wow! This place is incredible! I saw them moving into this space and I was so anxious to see what it was going to be! It's really incredible Thai food!!!! My daughter and I came here for dinner tonight. When we arrived, we were the only ones in the dining room. Joyce, the owner, greeted us and told us we could sit anywhere. Once we were seated, she gave us menus and ice water. Not sure my daughter has ever had Thai food before, so she wasn't sure what to get. I couldn't decide between the mandalay curry or the massaman curry. Joyce recommended the mandalay curry, so I got that with chicken and my daughter got that with shrimp. Each entree comes with the choice of white or brown rice. My daughter was speechless! She absolutely loved her meal and honestly, this was probably one of the best curry dishes I've ever had. Everything was so fresh and flavorful--cooked to perfection--and the portion sizes are decent so she and I both have leftovers. The place started to pick up a bit while we were there. I highly recommend checking this place out! We will definitely be back! Thank you, Patra!

When I saw Joyce opened a new spot in upland, I was thrilled. It popped on my radar as newly opened Asian fusion. So I immediately went for dinner. Hopefully I get to be the ninth review . I really like the menu design. Unlike traditional Asian restaurants, this has a fine dining elegance to it. Ordered Ming's chicken wings. It was highly rated on Yelp so I have to check it out. The wings are extremely well marinated. Reminded me of the authentic Thai street food I had years ago in Thailand. It is indeed on the sweeter side for my taste but I have a very sensitive sweet palette. It's very tender. Crunchiness 4/5 Taste 4.2/5 Satiation factor 5/5 I know the fried rice is going to be fantastic so I decided to try something new. Decided to go with the pad see ew. The beef in the dish is very tender however a little bit on the saltier side. The steam veggies are extremely tender which means the chef really spent the time on the dish. Taste 4.5/5 Texture 4/5 The service is just immaculate. Joyce even brought me some fresh wet towels when I am devouring the wings. Big parking lot in the back. Will come back for the scallops pasta that Joyce recommended. They even made the pasta in house.

Heard about this place from local community pages on FB. Had only ordered delivery one time from her now closed location in Claremont, but knew we liked the wings. Didn't know it was a cloth napkin type place when we walked in with our almost 3 year old, straight from the park (oops) but we were greeted with a smile and told to sit at one of the only empty tables. Ordered quickly. They brought our sons water in a to-go cup, as they don't have a kids menu. The wings came out first. Four whole wings, my son ate 1 entire one. They were amazing... the sauce was absolutely delicious! Next was a very large shareable portion of fried rice with shrimp. My son devoured probably a third of the plate!!! It came w plenty of shrimp which was nice, as most places only serve a few. The only thing we wished it had was a serving spoon. And lastly was the Thai chicken, served with a decent portion of brown rice (wish we had a choice, not fans of brown rice), small portion of veggies and a FULL (neck etc included) half chicken, which my kid ate the entire drumstick! Lol Loved that the food wasn't all served at once. That may be just because of what we ordered but either way, it was super appreciated. We had to time to eat and enjoy each plate while it was still hot without things getting cold. Also, really appreciated the music. Great jazz playing, not too loud. The owner, Joyce, came out and spoke with us (actually my son) for a solid few minutes.... Absolutely the sweetest woman. So happy. You can tell she loves what she does and it shows with her food! Well that and the hug she gave me as we left! Will we return? ABSOLUTELY! We all loved everything so much!

First time here. Nice and friendly staff, yummy food. Wow. I loved my Massaman curry. I had it with tofu, but you can pick your protein. And I loved their brown rice. Super moist. We had the veggie.puffs as our appetizer. They were super yummy.

So happy to see new restaurants opening in downtown upland. Our friends highly recommended this place so we had to try it out! So glad we did. We were warmly greeted and seated right away. The restaurant was very clean and had great ambiance. The waitress and owner were soo friendly and attentive ! We ordered the vegetable fried rice, chicken pad see eww noodles, and the chicken green curry. Everything tasted fresh and not greasy or heavy at all. My favorite was the curry ! It was not watered down at all. It was creamy and thick. The pad see ewe had tons of perfectly cooked and crispy. The fried rice was delicious. The portions were definitely very generous. We loved everything about this place and can't wait to come back again.

We moved to Upland a year and a half ago and we have been trying places in our city we went to this restaurant. I noticed they opened a year ago, I saw the Instagram advertisement then and I have been wanting to go, walking in the door welcomed by two lovely ladies. Food was amazing. I had Thai barbecue ribs. Service was great. Very nice people. It's nice to go to a restaurant where they appreciate you beer was great price. I will be going back many times.

Lets start with the ambiance, it was a nice breezy summer night so we decided to sit out on their patio; it almost felt as if we were on vacation somewhere else. The inside is also pretty and clean. Niw the food was amazing, the panang curry was so flavorful, and the curry sauce nice and creamy. Pineapple rice was also very good as well as the pot stuckers. The servers were so friendly and we even received a free pot stickets appetizer card for our next visit. We will definitely be back for more.

If you're looking for amazing Thai food made with love, look no further! This cozy little restaurant is an absolute gem. The owner is the sweetest person you'll ever meet--so warm, welcoming, and clearly passionate about her food. We started with the beef puff pastry appetizer, and wow--what a treat! The pastry was perfectly flaky, and the savory, well-seasoned beef inside made for a melt-in-your-mouth bite. Definitely a must-order. For mains, we had the BBQ chicken, which was grilled to perfection--juicy, smoky, and full of flavor. We also tried the shrimp curry which was outstanding. The noodles had the perfect balance of texture and seasoning, while the curry was rich, fragrant, and packed with deep, comforting flavors. To finish, we had the banana dessert, and it was the perfect sweet ending to an already incredible meal. Warm, caramelized, and just the right amount of indulgent. Beyond the fantastic food, the hospitality here is what truly makes this place special. You can tell the owner puts her heart into everything, and it shows. The owner, sweet, beautiful, lovely energy and the waitress was attentive and mindful. That being said, I'd been waiting since Patra opened to visit, the reviews astounding! I was super excited after 8 months of fighting cancer to go on a date with my husband and this was my choice.... both lovers of Thai food!!!! The restaurant was warm, a fan was necessary to keep us cool. The restaurant oddly boring in decor and paper menus dirty. I had read about how over the top the "experience" was in our little town... I was ecstatic to go! The food was edible but nothing that made me crave a second visit. We got the beef puffs (i saw no beef), crispy rolls (nothing out of the ordinary).. I'd much rather a hole in the wall w the hot pots and spinning chili jars even though I can't do heat anymore after radiation. Which brings me to the steak salad. I'm accustomed to long and tender straps of steak... these were little nuggets completely overcooked and hard to chew. It said lime dressing, no indication of any heat and it clearly had chilies in it marinating so I couldn't eat it. I used the restroom and it was not clean and very unbecoming for a restaurant that is seemingly to be a whole package. No offense intended but we came home w the left overs, tossed them and made burritos. We both are good cooks and don't eat out but 1 or 2 times a year because of our disappointment. To reiterate... the service was swell and all but I was excited for our little town. We were the only ones there at prime dinner time, even made a reservation because of the reviews. It is so nice to have another really good restaurant in downtown Upland. I have been here twice and loved it both times. I first checked it out with a friend at lunch. They have several lunch specials. I tried the Massaman curry and it was delicious. The whole table next to us had the spicy cashew chicken. The lady who sat near me told me that you couldn't go wrong with any choice. I think she was right! The next time we had a dinner special - curry with shrimp and scallops. I wanted to try the cashew chicken, but it wasn't on the dinner menu. When I asked, they said they would make it for me. Both entrees were absolutely delicious! My husband doesn't like to try new places, but he really enjoyed his dinner. The food was excellent and the service was so friendly. I was so excited to try the food again that I forgot to take pictures. We'll be back soon and I'll add pictures then. read more

We are so happy we finally tried Patra's. We love supporting small family businesses. We had such a pleasant dinner experience. The owner Joyce's was so lovely and you can tell she cares about her business and her customers. The restaurant is clean with simple decor. We ordered pad see ew , chicken fried rice and pot stickers and Banana Flambé. Everything was delicious and the portions were perfect. Maya was a great waitress as well. We wish you much success. Sweet new little spot in our neighborhood and I am so happy! Food and service are excellent! The owner herself checked to see how we were doing and offered to customize spiciness levels of our food. She also was gracious and attentive, as was all her staff. It is a small gem, the decor is nice, with some thoughtful elements that add ambiance like a fog and lights decor on one wall. Not the Thai food I was expecting. Had pa nang red curry served on roast beef. Definitely not the chicken pa nang red curry I have had at other Thai restaurants. Staff was friendly. The place was empty but we dine early. It was clean and nicely decorated. Thai ice tea was good. Brown rice was whole wheat earthy. My husband had chicken satay that was very rubbery and over cooked. Also somewhat uncomfortable with the server standing in the doorway to the kitchen watching our every move. read more

BEST FRIED RICE EVER! We came for a weekday lunch and ordered the Pad See Ew (best I've ever had) and the Thai BBQ Ribs. We couldn't stop eating the fried rice, it had such amazing flavor. I typically drown my rice in soy sauce and this dish didn't need any at all. Really pleasant atmosphere inside, attentive staff, and very kind owner/chef Joyce. We were even offered moist towelettes after eating the ribs, as well as iced tea/thai iced tea directly from the owner. Such a lovely surprise from this new restaurant. Would absolutely recommend and we will definitely be back! read more

Came here for the first time today. Ordered the curry chicken off of the lunch menu. The food was very reasonably priced and I took it back to my office. I found the portion was generous and enough for me to turn into two meals. Definitely a great value. Plus it tasted great. While I was there, the hostess was very nice and the service, although minimal, was still helpful and pleasant. While waiting for my food, I took the opportunity to look around. Not the fanciest restaurant I've ever seen, but that's ok. The decor was more than enough and the ambiance was very chill and welcoming. I'll definitely be coming back. Probably weekly. read more

It's so hard to find a really good, local Thai place and I think I found my go to Thai spot! Everything was amazing here. We got pineapple fried rice and a couple curries. That curry broth was thiccc, as it should be. The curries were rich in flavor and high quality, as well as their Thai tea (not watered down or premix). Service was great too. Our server was so sweet & attentive. Highly recommend! read more

This small business located in the heart of downtown Upland is delicious and the dining experience is so relaxing. The low lighting and soothing music makes the experience above and beyond. The staff is also very friendly and attentive. Our cup was never empty and they packed our leftovers so neatly. The Thai ribs are incredible and served with a delicious side of sauce that you'll want to dip everything. The classic pad see ew was delicious and could be served with chicken, shrimp, and even tofu! I can't wait to go back and try different dishes. What an absolutely fantastic restaurant. Fantastic Thai food and great service. The owner was so sweet. She took the time to come over to our table, welcomed us to Upland and graciously provided us with a welcome to the neighborhood dessert. There should be more restaurants like this where the owner takes the time to meet their customers and make sure their experience is 100% to their satisfaction. Tried this place for the first time yesterday. So friendly, great service. I had chow mein noodles with chicken and the green papaya salad. Both quite good. Great Thai food in downtown Upland on C St. I usually go for lunch with friends. Last night enjoyed dinner with a guest. Started with vegetable dumplings and tasty salad with ginger dressing. Always get the Mandalay curry! Enjoyed the pad sew & Thai basil stir fry. Joyce visited with us and we managed to share a specialty ice cream with sautéed bananas.
