I needed a 2 person crew for a 10 minute move from a 3rd floor apartment in South Austin to a relatively nearby home. Richard Bailey messaged me here on Yelp and to my phone number after I contacted multiple movers. I can only say one slightly negative thing here. At first contact, I wasn't entirely certain that they had accepted my job offer and date. I did have to message a few times to make sure the date and time was actually locked down. I, and so many of us, have been "flaked" on in the past, as I did a few times in Nashville somewhat recently. So I felt I had to reach out a little more as I had a very tight timeline and was just trying to get all my ducks in a row. However with a few messages we did lock in the day and time with a couple days to spare. I would just say that when we are here putting multiple offers on Yelp, you do end up getting blasted by some companies immediately, too much so, but it does make them "seem eager" to lock in the job. Just a little better first contact would be the only slightly negative thing I could say. On to the great: I received a call and message from Gio of their ETA the day before and on the day, which they met. The heat/humidity combination got really bad, still they had surprisingly great attitudes and asked all the right questions when they came up. They wrapped and protected all the furniture as if it was going in a cross country van/semi-trailer. Going down apartment steps, everyone's furniture has gotten scratched and bonked and movers have just said.. oh well. These guys knew exactly what they were doing and everything arrived perfectly. They even had me "direct" them to which room or area as they pulled carts of boxes up to the home. Gio and Josh were just good people, hard workers with real attention to detail and a positive attitude. I don't have any other reviews on Yelp, as far as I know, so here I am highly recommending Baileys Moving Company. Placed a quote request on Yelp and was bombarded with responses. A lot of the companies requested more information; some didn't respond. Spoke to one guy who said he would send a quote and never did. Richard Bailey gets 10 stars for price, communication; recognizing the sense of urgency and the crew he hired to complete my move. He actually texted me right away; then we spoke briefly. Based on the conversation he gave me a verbal quote and booked my move for the next afternoon. His crew showed up on time. We're very professional; had great personalities and got me moved in two and a half hours. Nothing was broken either. Assembled my washer and dryer too. One of the crew members even gave me decorative advice as I moved from a 2300 sq. ft. house to a 1300 sq. ft. apartment and my couch didn't initially look right where I thought it should be! Fabulous company. Absolutely recommend them.

Overall, my experience was a mixed bag with some definite pros and cons. My appointment was scheduled for 8:30 a.m., which I chose intentionally because this was an August move in Austin and I wanted to get as much done as possible before the worst heat of the day. At 8:06, one of the movers texted to let me know they were having truck problems and would be arriving between 9 and 9:30. They kept me updated, but ultimately didn't arrive and start until 9:30, a full hour after my scheduled time. Unfortunately, losing that hour meant much more of the move ended up happening during the peak afternoon heat I had specifically tried to avoid with the early appointment. They also called when they arrived because they weren't sure where to park, even though I had provided parking instructions in my confirmation email. They arrived in a U-Haul rather than one of the company's branded trucks, which I assume was related to the truck trouble. The two movers themselves were incredibly nice and pleasant throughout the entire move. They took good care of my furniture and wrapped and protected pieces thoroughly. Nothing about the handling of my belongings made me nervous, and I appreciated the care they took. That said, the pace was slower than I expected. For context, this was one person moving out of a one-bedroom apartment, not a family or large household, and I had done a LOT to prepare. Everything was fully packed, approximately 30 reusable moving boxes were staged together for easy loading, I had pre-wrapped some furniture and I even moved about 15 vacuum bags out to the truck myself. My old building did require navigating hallways and an elevator, which understandably added time to the load-out. On the other end, however, the truck could park directly outside my new ground-floor apartment with access through both the garage and front door, so unloading was about as straightforward as it could be. The move ultimately took about 6.5 hours. By the end, the Austin heat and humidity were understandably taking a toll and the pace had slowed considerably. Since I was paying by the hour, I eventually told them to leave some furniture for me to reassemble and some items for me to move into the correct rooms myself because the time and cost were continuing to climb and I needed to stop the clock. This is where I'm a little torn on whether I'd use them again. The hourly rate was considerably cheaper than several other quotes I received, but after a 6.5-hour move, I think the final cost probably ended up being similar to what I might have paid for a more expensive but more experienced or efficient crew. Sometimes a lower hourly rate isn't necessarily a lower total moving cost. Still, the guys were genuinely kind, took good care of my belongings and got everything safely from one apartment to the other. I especially appreciated them powering through a brutally hot Austin moving day. If half stars were an option, I'd probably land at 3.5. I'm rounding up to four because I really liked the crew and appreciated the care they took with my things, but the hour-late start, communication/organization issues and the overall pace would make me hesitant to book again.

David, who manages the office and books the jobs did a fantastic job staying in contact with us and working with us to ensure the safety of my family as well as his team. The driveway to our complex was up a steep hill and covered in ice. We were able to reschedule for a move on Monday February 22nd with an early start time. Mojo and Emeka called about 15-20 minutes before arriving and took the instructions well to get to our hard to find apartment unit. They took a brief walk around the unit and decided a plan of attack. Then the clock started. While the move took longer than I had originally expected both of these guys worked hard the entire time. No breaks. No milking the clock. The only two breaks they took were once on the way to deliver when they stopped to pick up rehydration beverages, which they asked for permission to do first and did not charge us for, and the second time was when we offered them food and beverages while unloading. There was minimal/no damage to our property when all was said and done. There were a few marks made in the very narrow stairwell, which the owner promptly came out the next day and cleaned up himself. No knicks, divots, or scratches to any of the walls in our old apartment or the brand new built home we moved into. Before I continue I just want to give every customer a heads up, you can safe yourself and your movers a lot of time by prearranging everything before hand. Take apart beds, take apart sectionals, disconnect washers, dryers, and refrigerators. Anything you can do to make their job as simple as picking up the items and moving it into the truck. The prices they offered across the board by companies in Austin was higher than when I managed a moving company in Austin 13 years ago and even with that being said Jackson was the lowest bid I received and not to mention, their phone lines were never busy and communication was very easy. At the end of the day I was very pleased with the service from EVERYONE in the Jackson's Moving organization and will absolutely use them again in the future. I called the office multiple times and at first they said that they would either replace the pieces or refer me to a furniture repair company. I received a quote from the furniture repair company they referred me to for $650. I sent the quote to the company and they said that they would only pay half. They dodge my calls, refused to respond to me, and I'm now left with furniture that is broken because of their carelessness and inexperience. Do not trust this company at all. They are the absolute worst! I am now planning to sue them in small claims court.

We were moving from Austin to San Antonio and I was surprised how quickly they go everything done. Einstein movers charged us almost double a few days before the move by adding an additional person. They were allowed to do that because they did not provide us with a contract. Michael quoted us right away, generated a contract, both of us signed, and his team was able to move our apartment completely on such short notice. We arrived to San Antonio and not a single thing was broken, they installed all of our furniture, and even took apart our door to make sure our refrigerator fit. Then they quickly put it back on, they really do it all. I am so glad we found them, do yourself a favor and hire Local Lifters for all of your moving needs!

The crew (Chris and 1 other gentlemen) arrived within the scheduled window and were finished loading my stuff within an hour. Everything was strapped down correctly and the inventory sheet was amended to add some items I left out on the online questionnaire. Unloading the stuff was just as fast despite heavy rain and only a couple of our items got wet enough to need be dried in the dryer. Definitely a fair price and would use them again in a heartbeat. I called Ray and he gave me an offer I couldn't refuse. I stayed in touch with his driver throughout the whole day and he arrived promptly with amazing help. I was quoted a good price which did increase at the loading time. They did work with me for a price that we both agreed was reasonable, considering this was an interstate move. Gina and Johnny are very responsive and updated the paperwork with every change I provided them. They were very understanding of my situation and I appreciate them sincerely for that. It really is a family business as Johnny, his dad and his wife completed the move. Their trailer is very clean and organized, they're very efficient and good humored. During the unloading, there was a pretty significant mishap, but Johnny immediately took responsibility and we all were appreciative of the way it was handled. All of our things got here mostly intact. There were some minor scratches and dents here and there, but these things happen with moving. I do really appreciate All in the Family Moving Company for helping relocate my family on this very important move. They did us a great service. Communication was great and they were accommodating of my changes. I received a courtesy confirmation the day before, truck was on time, and they worked really hard in the hot weather to complete the job quickly. My move was over night due to the distance. They showed up on time the next morning and quickly unloaded my things carefully. nothing was broken, nothing was lost, and my items were put back together correctly.

The owner YELLED at me and had me in literal tears, because he thought I was wrong about the voucher I bought and did not want to honor it, ON MOVING DAY, while his workers were already in my house. He said I could take my deposit back and he could take his workers back. He was EXTREMELY RUDE and difficult. He would not hear me and claimed that he never agreed to a voucher, despite me having the proof in writing. Then he said he wouldn't honor it cause Groupon was wrong, as if that was my fault?! His workers were so sympathetic. They could see how upset I was, and how this grown man was speaking to me. It took his employee talking him down and me sending screenshots of the fine print of the voucher for him to calm down and speak to me like a person. If I had the option at the time to not do business with this man, I wouldn't have, but seeing as it was moving day, and I had already given them hundreds of dollars, I had no choice. He apologized for his behavior and his men got the job done, but that was by far the WORST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE I've ever had. It made a very stressful day 10xs more stressful. There was some damage done to my floor, wall, and furniture, but given how he handled the voucher incident, I don't expect to get any type of compensation for that. They own several businesses so watch out for the name!

I'm not very happy with the way things went down with the move but the guys were very nice and…read moretried their best. First, nobody called to confirm my appt. so I called at 8am but no answer. They called me back said they'd be 30-45 min late. But it was an 1.5 hrs later. I wouldn't have cared if they told me ahead of time that it was going to be that late. Then it took 2 guys, 10 hours to load and unload 800 sq ft 1 bed/1bath/1desk apt. Except they left behind paintings, mirrors, my computer, random containers and items and didn't tell me till they arrived at my new apartment. My one bedroom set, full living room, 1bathroom, and a desk started at 10:30am-9pm. That's with me re-assembling my bed to free up the other guy to go help out his counterpart. My $2,700 Restoration Hardware Custom Upholstered white bed has dirty handprints everywhere. And they left a lot of things behind at the old place to save time- without asking me if that was okay. I really wanted to love the experience since it was highly recommended by a friend but I'm pissed off that I paid $1,000 just to move stuff by myself that they left afterwards. And not counting everything I moved in my own truck to help them finish up faster. Moving with elevators is tricky so they did try the best they could but sometimes you gotta know when you've bitten off more than you can chew. Y'all need to call for help when a 3-4 hr move turns into almost 10 hrs! This is total bull. Not happy. Not recommending them to anyone I know. I'm seriously considering calling up my credit card company to file a dispute. This whole experience was wrong and has made me feel like I got conned. Just saw the emailed receipt of $100+ more than the price I was given when they swiped my card. UNBELIEVABLE

I (myself) ran a day late and they still made time for me! AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME ... I will use them for all of my moves. AND I'm recommending them to my corporate HR as a preferred vendor! Added bonus: They are real people and took the time to give me pointers on the city and move my super heavy furniture around until I liked it. Ps. I definitely recommend Big Easy if you are a single female since they were polite and gentelmenly as well as honest in their price.
