First time venturing to this quaint, mountain-lodge type restaurant nestled back in a neighborhood near the river/lake. I went based on Yelp reviews and was pretty happy overall. I'm on a lowering my carbs kick so it is nice that you can get a 1/2 order of their house made pasta (all fettucine) with the various sauces. I chose the red one because I wanted to try the meatball, which was very very good - as was the pasta and sauce. The pasta was a perfect al dente as well. I had a house salad along with it that was massive and very fresh. Ordering is a little odd in that you open your tab at the first counter and then proceed to the bar for any beverage including tea or soda. The bartender was helpful and I got my drink and found a table. You have a table tag and they bring out the order. When you're done you close out your tab either at bar or front ordering counter. Really cool ambience.. hard to describe but the pictures already on yelp are accurate. When you close your tab there are the customary tip recommendation percentages.. which I thought were a little high since you don't really get full wait staff service... I don't mind tipping the cashier/bartender and people that bring out the food, but it's not full service so I think they should start the recommended tip at 10%. read more

Horrible customer service!! My daughter and I went to try the new location. My daughter happened to see the cook who had long black braids put food from the line in his mouth. He gave her eye contact and smirked at her disgusted look. We proceeded to address the concern to the closest employee; a bartender. He shrugged it off and asked if we wanted a drink. He said "Im sure he washed his hands." He said he would talk to him and instead went a female worker to discuss it with her. She immediately turned around to stare rudely at us. Meanwhile the entire cooking staff behind the big glass windows were laughing at us and clearly unphased. We were approached by a bar manager and his response was "I know this crew and it's not like them...blah blah.." We asked for a refund. We decided to take a chance and go to the original location in the Vortex. The manager there ignored us and never responded to our concern to address the problem from the other location. We then searched for the owner across street at Vic and Al's who was unavailable due to eating his dinner. The woman we talked to who was going to "pass along the concern" said they were familiar with who we were referring to based on their descriptions. Apparently, according to her, they have had prior issues. Will NOT be going back to either location. read more

Shoutout to Joey and Eric for taking care of us and giving exceptional service! This was my first time at the Cuernavaca location which has a different vibe than Manor. I like them both but I think this west location is now my favorite. People ask me about food recommendations and Patrizi's is always at the top of my list. Excellent bar selection with extremely knowledgeable bartenders. The carbonara is my go-to; it has so much flavor. I tried the margarita pizza and seared risotto and Marfa tomatoes and they were great, carbonara still wins for me. And save room for some delicious sundaes. Patrizi's you never disappoint. My boyfriend and I wanted to try a new place to eat, we visited the Cuernavaca location which is a restaurant. The other Patrizi's is a food truck at the Vortex location on Manor Road. If you didn't know, the food truck it is the original Patrizi's. Everything is homemade; the pasta noodles, the cheese, the wine, the bacon, EVERYTHING! The restaurant is seat yourself and they have indoor and outdoor seating. The patio is a bit small, but nice nonetheless and around nighttime it's perfect to be seated outside. The ambiance is very chill and relaxing, they had music playing softly and the decor in the restaurant wasn't overwhelming, everything complemented the restaurant. Since we had never been before, one of the employees gave us the rundown on everything and was super nice! Basically you can get a regular plate of pasta or a half portion and the same can be done for the salads. I am not sure if the same applies at the Vortex location. My boyfriend and I were hungry so we got full portions. Pictured at the bottom: I got the Diavolo pasta which had the perfect amount of spice and lemon. I also had the cucumber basil mocktail (green drink) it was refreshing and not too sweet, almost like a fresh lemonade. My boyfriend and I each got our own garlic bread (it's a must), we also got the Patrizi's house salad to share (which I nearly ate all by myself, it was sooo good), and pictured at the top left is the Carbonara pasta which was so creamy and the bacon was amazing along with the pink lady cocktail. The food was great, and the flavor was all there, however, the pasta was barely warm when it came out and got cold pretty quickly while eating. The food here is amazing. So fresh. So homemade tasting. Perfectly plated and sized. Patrizis restaurant itself has that wonderful Austin vibe with organic decor, loads of outdoor seating and a bandstand. We were there for lunch and ordered the Patrizis salad with chicken and the flavor was both unique and tasty. The garlic bread side order might as well have been from the dessert menu it was that delectable. On this Friday afternoon around 2p, the place was fairly empty -I'm assuming because after 4p the menu opens to pasta dishes and live music. We have been to Patrizi's a lot since they opened up a second location. The expansion has so much seating and the space is so cute and great for gathering with family and friends! Patrizi's has the best pasta in town - you can tell it's so fresh. The Leopold is a classic and so nutty in a good way. The Diavolo was a bit spicy for my taste but the Carbonara is always perfectly creamy and we get that every time. We will keep coming back for sure for quality Italian food! read more

We love Patrizis ans while we usually visit the one at the Vortex, we really like the ambiance in the outpost on Cuernavaca. We especially like the indoor and outdoor space which are both very dog friendly. They had live music on the steel drums when we were there and the patio is a vibe although in hindsight we might have sat inside because it was a bit warm and there were some flies. Service is order at the counter when you walkin and servers deliver food to your table. Everyone was pretty friendly and made sure we were enjoying our meal. The food is the star here. You have to try the garlic bread; it's the best thing on the menu and everything is else is so good. We got a side salad which was good, the pizza is incredibly fresh and crispy straight from the pan it was cooked in. The leopold pasta is really good. First time here we live in lakeway and wanted a fun place to eat on a Sunday night. The staff were so super friendly and bubbly and the food came out FAST + felt very fancy but without being too pricey. This place has it all, wonderfully handcrafted and tasty pastas and sauces, great service and a very cool environment, I ordered the pasta with bolognese sauce and it was melt in your mouth delicious. Our tables shared the meatball as a little extra and it was just as amazingly fresh and delicious, along with the flavorful food, the restaurant and bar area are beautiful with rustic decor and garage doors that open to an expansive outdoor space. The staff are inappropriate. Let me count the ways. I walked into the patio area to meet friends and poured myself a cup of water from the outdoor cooler. One of the servers, his name was Joey, asked what I was drinking. I said water, with a question in my voice, since I'm obviously drinking water from their water cups. He then attempts to grab my cup from my hand, which I pull back.......because WHAT?!!? I DO NOT KNOW THIS SERVER. I repeated that it's water and asked what he was doing. He kept insisting that I was drinking alcohol from their water cups. He eventually slowly creeped away. I've never felt so judged/violated for no apparent reason. read more

This was my first time going to this location a few months back. We had a wonderful experience. It is counter service to order. Get there early because it gets packed! Chris recommend this cucumber cocktail and he made it and it was delicious and a perfect summer drink. We all shared different pastas but the Cacio was my fave. My friend and I ordered the spicy italian sausage pizza-- they make their pizza on focaccia, excellent decision on their part AND everything is made in house. For pasta we did the split whole order, so we got the lemon thyme and the pomodoro. We both weren't huge fans of the pomodoro, it was too sweet for me but the lemon thyme was top tier. The pasta is cooked al dente and knowing it's made in house makes it that much better. We went on a Friday night and they had live jazz playing on the patio. It was just the nicest way to spend a summer Friday evening. The music wasn't too loud either which is greatly appreciated. read more

Food quality was excellent! For lunch I had the Muffuletta. It was as good as any I had in NOLA. The bar looks well stocked. The owners are nice. The salt is frustrating for a lunch. You get a metal grater and a lump of rock salt and you must grate the salt on your food. PITA. Just give a salt shaker. Chips with a sandwich would be a beautiful thing. It's almost expected. I will definitely return because it is super convenient and the food was good. Just a few tweaks to take it from food truck to actual restaurant. Oh, and tips- I didn't see a way to put a tip on the card. I didn't have cash. There needs to be a way to tip servers etc... I will update after a dinner. My opinion went up after eating their pasta. Came to the brick and mortar patrizis for date night. The location is a little secluded but I actually loved that. You will need to order at the register first then if you want alcohol you will need to order that separately at the bar. Kind of inconvenient but not awful by any means because the service there was absolutely spectacular. We got the garlic bread which was crispy on the outside soft on the inside and had a hint of sweetness which tied it together nicely. My bf got the Leopold with mushrooms and a meatball. The meatball had great flavor but it was dry. I wanted carbonara but they were out at the time. I ended up getting the diavolo with chicken and mushrooms per the recommendation of the gentleman at register. I'm not a chicken fan unless it's smothered in cheese or fried but they cooked this chicken really well. And I really enjoyed the spicy flavor it had and would probably get it again. We sat outside which had a very cute seating area. We wish we saw the bug spray they had out next to the water initially bc we did get eaten alive lol. Went here for lunch right at 1pm on a weekday this summer. We decided to come to this location versus their main, other one, as we heard this one was far less popular and trafficked. Word on the street was right, as it was so slow that we were the only customers in there at the time, so service was prompt. Staff was personable, knowledgeable, & friendly. We both ordered the patrizi's salad and the non-alcoholic, pomegranate shirley. Both of us thoroughly enjoyed our salads & shirleys! The chicken thighs on the salad were juicy and extremely tender, and the veggies on the salad were crisp & fresh. While skeptical at first that they didn't have any ranch dressing on hand, i was pleasantly surprised at how much i loved their house vinaigrette dressing on the salad! Amazing! The whole experience was wonderful and the atmosphere was great. Our food was so delicious and gives me more hope that there's good Italian food in Austin. The cheesy focaccia was THE BEST. I had the Carbonara Alexandra and highly recommend. All the drinks we got were great too, the orange drink was my favorite. Indoor seating is a little limited, but there's plenty of seating outside too. There's also a large yard where kids and dogs can run around. I didn't notice any plastic while there. All silverware and trays to be reused, drinks in glass jars and compostable straws. They also had their produce and other herbs/additions to drinks in jars too. I really love that part because reducing waste on a large scale that restaurants can do has a positive impact! We will be back for sure! read more

Wow! Just Wow! I was happy to hear we had a new restaurant in our beloved Nieghborhood. But this was beyond my expectations. The pasta is homemade!!! And it shows!!! I had the pasta with pesto and mushrooms. My husband had the pasta with meatballs. The garlic bread has actual roasted garlic. This pasta is truly amazing. I can't even! Nom nom nom nom nom nom! Homemade pasta!!! The real deal. This is a mom and pop establishment that was started on the mid century. I can't be happier to have them in our hood. I'll be gaining a few lbs.... WORTH IT! I'll admit I was pretty hyped up to try out Patrizi brick & motor location after hearing such great things about their food truck on the eastside. After trying it for myself here's what I have to say about my experience. First let's talk about the food as it hit all the check marks for me. I ended up getting their side salad with their meatball sub for lunch. Meatball was delicious and served sliced in half with a good sauce to meat ratio which made it super easy to eat without being really messy as most meatball subs usually are. Next let's discuss the location as it's spacious with ample seating inside and outside with plenty of parking. Lovely to see a restaurant that compliments the neighborhood and still be approachable with casual ordering & pricing. Lastly was the service which was probably the only mishap for me. Not sure if it was just a awkward day or if it's a new restaurant working out the kinks but both the hostess and server seemed to be all over the place. The hostess wasn't super familiar with the menu when we tried ordering and the waitress was also playing bartender but didn't really know how to make most of the drinks not to mention they only had a drink menu on the screens which weren't working when we came in. They managed as best as they could and eventually got the screen to work but it was kind of odd there were no printed menus or even a drink menu listed online as this is pretty standard across most restaurants these days. Overall okay experience but I think I would wait to come back til they get some of their service issues worked out a bit. Would love to try their pastas out for dinner on the patio once the weather cools down later this year! read more
