She even had time to chat with us in between doing everything. We ordered a dozen oysters and they were so good we debated getting more... a bit pricey but definitely worth it. I had the Gnocchi Mushroom Ragu. It was one of the top Gnocchi dishes I have had the pleasure of enjoying. Our ten year old son said it was the best gnocchi he has ever had. The texture of the gnocchi and the flavors of the sauce made for a flawless dish. The chef makes all pastas in-house and you can tell. The pasta dishes are exceptional! The entree portions are generous so you won't mind sharing a bite or two with your dining companions. I only wish we would have discovered this gem earlier in our trip. Do yourself a favor and make a reservation at Porcelli's.

Pat's Pizza in Bar Harbor is a train wreck. Here is why I give them ONE STAR. Atmosphere is horrible. Dined their with family and ate in bar area. Only one lonely guy sat at bar quietly drinking with no music and sound off on giant TVs showing newscasts and reruns (how about some sports/games?). Waitress seemed as if this was her first day on the job and had NO clue how to take an order. My family ordered sodas and waited.. and waited. When it came time to order, waitress got the order incorrect twice (food sent back) and when it was finally corrected - everyone at the table had already finished their meal. The atmosphere got worse. A middle-aged couple sat next to us and talked loudly about getting drunk and complaining about cell phone bills. It was awkward - but you can't blame Pat's for that. It got weirder when the guy - who identified himself as the restaurant's cook - rudely started butting into our conversation. He seemed off as he was sitting eating with his girlfriend and asked how I liked my pasta. I'll skip to the really bad part. Meal ends and waitress comes up with handheld gizmo credit card reader and announces total of bill. I asked to review the bill and she shot me a look of horror. She walked away and stands at the bar and calls to the barkeep in a loud voice that she needs a printout. She seems irked and so does the barkeep. I can hear them both struggle to print out receipt and they both come over and present it to me as if I had asked too much. I notice I was up-charged $3.50 for fries (when I was told they could be subbed for a different side at no cost) and was charged for five ($15) FOUNTAIN sodas when I only ordered two ($6). I asked and was told by both waitress and barkeep hovering angrily above me that I was mistaken, charges were correct and they were NOT backing down. (I was told the cost of the FOUNTAIN sodas was because they don't offer free refills. They charge $3 every time they ask if you would like a refill and you say "yes". NO heads up that there are no free refills.) Then I just had to say I wasn't pleased with the experienced and mentioned that the day's special (which was advertised outside prominently and that I TRIED to order but was told was NOT available until the next day) was served to the Pat's Pizza cook and his girlfriend. They kept on talking LOUDLY about how good the Special was as we ate. Neither the waitress or the barkeep relented and just said the special wasn't available. Then it happened. The Pat's Pizza cook's date YELLED at me to stop giving the waitress a hard time. Then the cook dude started getting hostile and stood up and joined in telling me what an ass i was being. I was shocked and horrified. The waitress and barkeep hovered as if they were in 100 percent agreement with the cook and his girlfriend. No de-escalation, no apologies. Just hostility. I paid the bill as quickly as I could and was seriously scared the staff was going to follow me and attack me in their parking lot in front of my children. It didn't help that Pat's Pizza is located adjacent to a laundry mat and gas station - all poorly lit and DARK. NEVER AGAIN. This Pat's Pizza gives ALL Pat's Pizzas a bad name. read more

Horrible service. Overcharged. Place was super creepy. Did I mention HORRIBLE SERVICE? They don't allow you to review the bill, just ask you to pay the total on a hand held app. I asked to review paper bill and found I was overcharged and misinformed about subbing one side for another. Manager came over and told me no, no, no and no. I was forced to pay and cook came out of kitchen and yelled at me for giving waitress a hard time. Since when is reviewing a bill "a hard time" and calling them out on overcharging? NEVER again and looking to file complaint with headquarters and PAT. read more
