pumpkin pancakes and santa fe scramble

Simply delicious! I got the pumpkin pancakes and my husband got the Santa Fe scramble. and everything was awesome. Our server was attentive, and the cafe is relaxed and cozy. We just picked this place randomly when traveling through town, but it's definitely a repeat visit for next time!

Turky sandwich, family ordered to go, after family finished their sit down meal. Only enough turky to cover half of each slice.
    CJ A.

Most Saturdays my hubby and kids go out to Breakfast. As I am disabled the order me something to go. I have had good food in the past. Today they had good food. Hubby enjoyed his Fish n (Onion Rings) I asked for a turky sandwich with white meat, without tomato, and potato salad as my side. When I opened the box, I could tell just by looking the bread was stale around the edges and overloaded with lettuce. I open the sandwich to remove some lettuce and was shocked to find so little turky only half a sandwich could be made. Utterly disappointed. No time or care was spent preparing this order. Especially when hubby said they were not busy. I have a photo not sure how to post it.

    Liver and Onions

Today Pattys egg nest took very good care of me! I have eaten the patties over on 128th before and ordered various things from Door Dash. This was my first time calling into the local one on Evergreen. When I called and I was asking for a liver and onions. A very nice young lady explained to me that they only serve them on Tuesday through Saturday after 3 PM as a dinner. She then proceeded to yell out to Paul the Chef in the back and ask him if he was willing to make me a meal. She said come on in. I came in and had one of the best meals I've had a really long time. This place has a really hometown feel. There's a bar right next-door but you can tell the people that come here come here every day. It felt like coming to moms house and getting some delicious cooked food that just really brightened your day and reminded you that there's good people in the world. I feel lucky to have came across these wonderful souls today. I needed this & a wonderful meal. I know I sound corny but I really genuinely mean this.

    "Medium rare" steak.
    Patricia V.

I ordered the rib eye steak and eggs and it may be one of the worst I've had. I ordered my eggs over medium and they came over hard. I ordered my steak medium rare and got well done. My toast however was not toasted. I'm all for trying to support local businesses now especially but I'd like to at least get what I ordered.

8oz top sirloin breakfast offered as an upgrade. YUMMO.

Now coming in it was a little awkward as you walk in and the counter is right by the entrance just like most restaurants, but there were no signs that said wait to be seated or seat yourself. After standing there for a couple of minutes I saw people grabbing menus and congregating to the register. I was waiting for someone so it worked out well. You order and then take your number or in this case a magic 8 ball to the table(so they know which order goes where). This location is much larger than I remember. It had a very eclectic ambiance. More or less different types of tables and chairs everywhere, but gave off a homey vibe. The people that were working were very pleasant. We both opted for water, in which they had a water station for you to fill a cup and sit down. After sipping my water I noticed the glass I had was chipped and cracked, a chard actually chipped off in my hand. I took it back up to the front and exchanged it. Probably not the best idea to have all of the glasses stacked on top of on another. I ordered the Cajun chicken sandwich, in which upon ordering they had to check if they were ready to serve that. I was lucky enough that they were, although I did have a back up plan. The turkey sandwich came out with a mixed green salad with a dressing I was not sure of, but was very refreshing. The turkey sandwich on sourdough was very flavorful and I was very happy with my pick. I would definitely come back here and try more things, although the Cajun sandwich remains on my mind. One of the better sandwiches I have had in a long time!

But I digress -- you're supposed to be reading my review. I decided that I was in the mood for grilled cheese and tomato soup, so that's what I ordered. The tomato soup is really amazing -- so fresh tasting and delicious. But the sandwich was next level nom-ness. I opted to get it on sourdough because it's the best for dunking into the soup. Totes 'lish (I just thought I would type like one of the cool kids!! From the moment we walked in until the time we left, the entire experience was exceptional. The hospitality was top-notch, and our server, Kim, was incredibly friendly, attentive, and accommodating. When I dine out, it's important that I feel comfortable with my server because I truly believe food should be served with love. On a scale of 1 to 10, Kim was off the charts! Now for the food... I ordered the French toast and requested it extra crispy. It arrived perfectly golden brown, topped with fresh berries and real whipped cream--absolutely delicious! I also had over-medium eggs that were seasoned perfectly, although they were a little closer to over easy than medium. Still, they were very good. The only item that fell a bit short was the chicken sausage, which was average and could have used a little more flavor. My husband ordered the pancakes, and they were delicious. His bacon was cooked to perfection--crispy, flavorful, and not overly salty. Honestly, my only complaint was that I got too full to finish everything! If you're looking for great food, outstanding service, and an all-around wonderful dining experience, I highly recommend giving this hidden gem a try. We'll definitely be back

At many other tables, I could see traditional breakfast fare such as french toast or pancakes that also looked tasty. My wife gave me a taste of the banana bread and it was delicious! Thick cut like texas toast, and much less dense than homemade banana bread that I am used to. Alas, the server said they might discontinue it, and that they didn't have a recipe but probably ordered it. Shame, now I must find this delicious banana bread! It was okay, but a bit overcooked, and it came with fries... maybe 25 total for a 3-piece fish plate. Our bill was around $65 for two beers (with the $2 off Thursday special), the calamari, and the 3-piece halibut. Just overpriced for what it was. The place itself is cute, and they had acoustic music going, which was nice. The staff was friendly and really hustling with how busy it was. Ordered the same thing for the kids, and the same burger for both adults - one as a meal and one just the burger. 20 mins go by and it turns out our ticket just got .. lost? So we waited with two hungry kids for 20 mins before they even started making our food. Food comes, and my burger is wrong. I go up, tell them, and walk away thinking they were going to fix it. Another 10 mins and someone comes to our table asking if we were still wanting the burger we actually ordered and that we need to pay a dollar something for it. At this point, it's been 35 mins since we ordered and I still don't have the burger I asked for in front of me. The person "helping" us argued that nothing was their fault, they must have read the order back and I didn't correct them (we order two of the same burgers!) so I'd need to pay (not the issue, it's like $1) and wait some more for the right burger. I gave up and ate my by-thay-point cold burger. Honestly, this could have been so easily fixed. We were fine with our order being forgotten and I would have happily exchanged the burger I got for the one I ordered. There wasn't even an attempt to make up for the forgotten meal - instead they made it worse.
