As we were in the area with our buds spending a day of fun together, we decided what could be some food that we would normally not eat if apart due to the number of people we're generally with and pizza came to mind. We did brainstorm about pizza places and Patxi's was a suggestion. I was never a huge fan after a few times we had it in South Bay, but I figured I would try them again. And although the place seemed posh and similar to the other Patxi's we've visited in the past, the pizza itself was just ok and lacked a crisp and crunch in the crust though it was successful in not completely falling apart nor was it super oily. L O C A T I O N Patxi's is located in Persimmon Place. Parking can be a little crazy now that COVID restrictions are becoming more lax. It was quite busy when we went early Sunday night. There's a private lot shared by all the shops and restaurants all of which seemed to be quite busy. They had a lot of outdoor seating and minimal indoor though I did see a couple families inside eating most of them were outside dining along with dogs. M E N U Patxi's has a pretty straight forward menu. They have deep dish, pan and thin crust pizza. The options they have for pizzas weren't really enticing for me as I was staring at the menu so hard to see which one I would completely go ga-ga with and nothing did as the sausage had garlic and pesto has garlic. I know you're probably going, then why even get pizza? Well sometimes you just sacrifice you stomach to your intolerances okay? They did have some starters, as well as salads, soups, sandwiches, and something called a Piadina which looked like a pizza taco. We opted for two pizzas, one 10-inch and the other in 14-inch size (the only two sizes they have). We got the Salsiccia (All-natural garlic-fennel sausage, herbed ricotta, fresh basil, mozzarella, homemade tomato sauce & parmesan) and Bianco Verde (Pesto, herbed ricotta, mozzarella & parmesan) both in thin crust. ~ Salciccia ~ My concern was the sausage having a heavy garlic taste and it wasn't but I didn't really taste anything from the meat which was a little disappointing. I thought they'd be more chunks of sausage (like in the photos on their menu) but it was more in a ground meat kind of presentation strewn all over the pizza. The crust itself was crisp on the outside, but the middle wasn't as crisp as I would want. ~ Bianco Verde ~ Similar to the Salciccia in terms of crust, not crisp. There was a generous layer of cheese on top of the dough though which helped stabilize the pizza so it wouldn't flop. Otherwise, the pesto wasn't as strong in garlic as I've had in other places which is a good thing for me, I don't know about others. But if you like a cheese pizza, this one is good with a hint of pesto. S E R V I C E We can't really say too much about service as we ordered for take out which went pretty smoothly and they said the order would be ready in 30 minutes. When we got there, it was a little hard to figure out where to go in as they placed a podium almost right against the door which made it seem like it wasn't where we were supposed to be going in or picking up. Also there were people standing outside that blocked the door with their dog which again made it a little difficult for us to get into the door to get our pizza. O V E R A L L Again, it was okay pizza, but for that price you would hope for better. Options weren't "ooooh I need to eat that" and now seeing their menu, it looked like you could do a build your own which completely went over my head so that was my own darn fault. It did look like a nice place to hang out with friends. It is convenient and shareable which is a plus. Perhaps I just need to try more stuff from their menu and give it another shot. First ever trip to Patxi's was a success! Wife and I came here after watching a movie at Regal Cinemas. We started off with the wings and chose a dry rub. The wings were done perfectly and the dry rub was the perfect choice. The meat was tender and just pulled off the bone with ease. Wish we had ordered more but the 6 pieces were just enough for our appetizer. For our main, we ordered a deep dish bbq chicken pizza. Deep dish pizzas aren't a favorite of mine but this one was pretty damn good. The only knock I have is that there didn't seem to be a whole lot of chicken. Other than that, the crust and sauce was amazing. Wished they had the cheesecake but I was told there wasn't anymore left. Freebies, excellent food and friendly staff is always my style of eating out. I always order the Caesar salad because it really is one of the best that I've had at a restaurant. It didn't disappoint. First time ordering a sandwich and it was almost perfect. I enjoyed the flavors of a vegetarian sandwich with an Italian flair. The free dessert was freshly made and a surprise in a good way. We had a seat on their outside patio, weather was perfect so why not over order. My girl and I started with a salad and burrata bruschetta. Both were delicious but the salad had a piece of plastic. Manager came out and removed the salad from the bill. I felt bad because I had already eaten most of the salad. The burrata was delicious, I almost wanted more bread but it was enough. We had two thin crust Neapolitan pies: margarita and salccicia. Salciccia came out without the basil but that's fine. I am slightly biased though, I love wood oven pizza and these hit the spot. Over the years, I have wanted to like this place. Each time I am hopeful. I am not sure what is happening during COVID, but I did have experience prior to COVID that was good. Usually, the service is fine, but it's the food and how the kitchen gets the food out and correctly. We popped in for lunch on a Saturday and this was the first time in many visits that the food came out as ordered and yummy. Pizza, garlic bread, and butter lettuce salad. For a small (seating size ) restaurant the wine list is decent as is the beer selection. On those warm evenings - it's great to grab a seat on the outdoor patio and have a cocktail. Maybe their food is good. Hard to know. They blast their music, really bad 80s music that the government must use to torture people. My head was throbbing! No way you could have a conversation. I asked the waiter to turn it down twice. He said he did, but it remained at the same level. I guess his enjoyment of his work environment was more important than the customer experience. Not coming back. Why does the music have to be blasting in the middle of the day especially terrible music!!!!!! Update: asked the manager to turn the music down. I called in my order and went to pick it up. It was a busy Fri night, but the server's were patient and friendly. I got a half Special, half Spinach and Pesto deep dish pizza. Visually, it's reminiscent of a Zachary's pizza. The crust was good and the piquant sauce also reminded me of Zachary's. However, it was very odd that is was difficult to taste the difference between the Special and the Spinach and Pesto. The sausage, bell peppers and mushrooms were very mild and not consistent. When you bit into the pizza, all you could really taste was the the sauce cheese and crust. The same was true for the Spinach and Pesto. I didn't get any pesto flavor because it was overpowered by the cheese and tomato sauce. I noticed that you got a free order of garlic bread if you checked in via Yelp, so I ordered that as well. I don't know if I got a "free version" of the dish, but it was dreadful. I took a couple of bites and threw it away. Very disappointing. It looked nothing like the picture on the menu website. Wow this place is just great. There is outdoor and indoor seating with multiple TVs so it can be considered a Sports bar as well. It's super cute and we decided to sit outdoors since it was a nice day out. I ordered the thin crust margherita, my absolute favorite pizza, with their house dry rub wings (THE BEST) & the yummy side of Ranch. Our server, Nina was super accommodating and attentive to our needs even though she was busy handling multiple tables and bar service. She makes a mean mojito!! They were so crisp and refreshing I needed to order 2. There is a check in offer, a free stromboli dessert and we went with strawberry. Bomb! Anyways I love this place and the service is tremendous. We got the bruschetta starter and it was not what I expected but was very delicious. The flavors and plating made it fancy and nice to eat. We came here for an early dinner on Friday night. It wasn't too busy and we were seated right away. We chose to sit on the inside as it was a bit windy outside. The patio looked fun though with the outside bar. We shared a 10" Chicago Special Pizza that we couldn't finish in store. Super packed with fresh ingredients and sauce. The best part is putting honey on the crust of course. We went home with leftovers and even the next day, the pizza still tasted great re-heated. They serve slices of their deep dish or flat crust with salad (which I assume means the pizza is already made and they just cut the slices so that it is ready for people who are on lunch). I also ordered a side of buffalo wings. The food took a long time to come out. First came the wings, which were cold and lacked flavor. I have been getting Patxi's pizza at this location and in SF for years. Tonight I ordered a half baked spinach and pesto deep dish pizza. I brought it home and baked it and when I cut into it, a TON of cheese dumped out of it. It is not even edible. When I called them to let them know, the woman who answered told me to order light cheese next time. That's ridiculous. Zachary's never has this problem. The woman at Patxi's said she would "let them know" and that was it. No credit offer or anything to make it right. Their food and service is terrible. And before they say the labor market is tight and it's hard to get good people, I would say look at Zachary's because their employees are great as is their food and customer service. read more

The atmosphere was very lively, with all the customers choosing to sit on the breezy patio. I was really hungry and dug right in to my salad of greens. The great thing is that they didn't glop dressing on top, but actually tossed the salad. The waiter offered cracked pepper - "extra please." I ordered the BBQ pizza which has chicken, onion, and fresh cilantro. There was cheese but not tons -- just the perfect amount. The service was quick and friendly. The restaurant was spotless. The vibe was happy. My only complaint was that the iced tea -- which I drink without sweetener-- tasted a bit like coffee. What I like is that after you eat, you can walk around and check out the shops. Parking can get busy but not impossible. Inside: place is clean inside. We got seated right away, very friendly staff! The inside is small. They have a lot of outdoor seating. Staff: friendly! We had a young lady help us and she was awesome! Very nice and good sense of humor. These people care about their Customers. Im not much of a salad guy but this was really good. My deep dish slice came out minutes later and was quite disappointed. First bite was decent but the more I cut into it, the less appealing it became to eat. Why? It was barely warm & to top it off, I wasn't checked on by my server..there was only 2 tables being waited on in the dining room & was forgot about, sadly. I continued on with my lunch. I come here less frequently due to terrible parking, some bothersome people taking over the sidewalk benches, and also lack of live music. Carolina was an excellent server who patiently waited our table of 6 with a friendly smile. I had called not once, but TWICE for a reservation at noon on the patio for my family of 6. Once arrived, we were told that 6 couldn't sit together (Covid reasons). I was not told this on the phone either of the times I confirmed our reservation for my daughter's 18th /graduation with visiting grandparents. So, I pulled up a table of 2 to the table of 4.- Better communication needed with those who "reserve" over the phone and staff! The happy hour good here, and the food is enjoyable. It's too bad though, Paxtis used to have live music. Aaron Pearson is an acoustic guitarist with an amazing voice who could always bring in a large crowd to Paxtis, as I follow his social media which lets people know where he plays. I hope Paxtis brings back live music! Hundreds of us would show up and give you business. I love Patxi's pizzas, especially the deep dish type. The first Patxi's I ever went to was in Berkeley or Albany ... I dunno where the line is! But that location is in the urban jungle, and I'd much rather come out to the nice safe suburbs here to have my deep dish pizza and have my car in the same location and condition as I left it! Patxi's was the first Bay Area competitor to Zachary's Chicago Pizza, that I feel in love with the first time I came to the Bay Area. But now I love Patxi's the best, now that Zach's has gone downhill some ..... still good, but not on the top of the list. This Dublin location was easy to get to. I suppose if you go on prime time you might have a little parking prob, but we went mid week for lunch and no prob parking. Patxi's and even Zachary's may not be "authentic" Chicago deep dish pizza, but I really prefer our California deep dish version. I've had "real" Chicago style and I hate that crust ... way too much cornmeal, it's almost like cornbread crust, or as described by another, it was like pizza on a "biscuit"! Our California version has a flaky buttery crust that I love. Patxi's is a stuffed version, meaning besides deep dish, it has a thin layer of dough on top and then topped with sauce and cheese. If you've never had deep dish pizza before, think of it as a "pie" but instead of apples or pumpkin inside, it's all pizza toppings (fillings). Two slices will be enough to fill you. Yes, this pizza is expensive. Think of it as "adult" pizza. You need something to just fill the children's tummies, go to Pizza Hut! It'll be way cheaper! Low $20's to $30 for deep dish here. See the online menu. The deep dish style will take minutes to make and cook, depending on how many pizzas are ahead of you. So, what you do is call in, in advance by say 35 minutes, either for dine in or take out. The time you may spend waiting in line, your pizza will be cooking! For me, it's best eaten at the restaurant. That way you get the pizza piping hot right outta the oven and have the full experience. Traveling 15 minutes in a box steaming the crispy crust is not the best thing for a pizza. Patxi's for me all the way! read more

Food was good. The chicken pesto melt was very good. They used sliced chicken instead of just a giant chicken breasts and it made it very enjoyable. The focaccia bread it was served on was very tasty. We tried the Mac and cheese in the bread bowl and it was very interesting. The bread bowl was like a pizza crust and was very good. The Mac and cheese itself was tasty, but not what you think of when you order. It was very meaty and cheesy and almost kind of felt like a dip more than anything. Service was okay but not great. I had gone to Paxti's in March and left a 1-star review based on the service we received. Several weeks later I received a private message from the owner explaining that he had taken care of the issues and also had a new manager. He offered me a pizza on the house if I gave them another chance. A few weeks ago, my family and I were in the area so we decided to give them a try. I did not tell them I was the one who was in contact with the owner until after my meal when it was time to pay-to ensure we were having a genuine experience and service. Wow! It was amazing! We decided to branch out and try the "Chicken Tikka Masala" whole pizza (my boys had a pepperoni kid's meal) and also a salad. We were all super happy with the hot, delicious pizza and the salad was fresh, unique and a big portion. (We ate the pizza for leftovers the next day and it was even better the second day!) The service this time was very personable and attentive. Our server Jorge was great! My husband even asked if they would switch the channel to watch Basketball playoffs and they willingly obliged him!
