I visit Dahlonega, Georgia to see my son, daughter-in-law and grandson and have visited Paul Thomas Chocolates many times. This time, we participated in the Chocolate Crawl and Paul Thomas was listed on our "passport", so we had to visit. They were handing out a piece of their chocolate with caramel and it was delicious!!!! The service is always great, very nice employees. As you can see in the pictures, we had fun, very relaxed atmosphere!!!! Great place to grab lots of delicious treats!!!!

Master Chocolatier! Tried a variety, including the hot chocolate mix, bars, and chocolates, and loved it all. The young man serving us was friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. The shop itself is comfortable and well laid out with clearly marked products displays. Wish we lived closer, but I will definitely return when in the area.

Located in the Dahlonega Square, this Family Owned Business for almost 50 years and there is a reason why- because their chocolate is amazing! Most days you can watch the treats being made daily behind the counter. They have a Variety of chocolate barks, bars, truffles & tortoises, Chocolate covered pretzels, marshmallows, strawberries & so much more. They even offer Sugar Free chocolate as an option too. The Candied apples are a must try & they will slice them for you! My favorite one is the Apple Pie one! They have Dog treats available for your furry friends. And be sure to Ask about the Nightmare Truffle! Enjoy!

    Entrance, so cute

Such an adorable little place in Dahlonega, GA. They have all kinds of great treats and you can watch them making the goodies. We got some truffles that were awesome and some chocolate coffee for my daughter but she hasn't tried it yet. I'll try to remember to update this review to tell how it was. Lots of cute little gifts/treats for family souvenirs. Next time I'm going to try the divinity - it looked amazing. I don't know of any place in Arizona I can get it.

Rainy day in Dahlonega, but we found shelter in this cute chocolate shop. Everyone chose one chocolate to eat. Salted caramel, chocolate truffle, mint chocolate and a white chocolate pretzel. Allllll delicious! It was a nice treat to stop in, even if it was just for one chocolate. I'll be coming back here for a "mom trip" with my besties and we'll have to come in for another chocolate treat! Stop in!

Must stop in even if it's only for 1 piece. Huge variety of chocolates and unique treats. Truffles, nuts, bark, cereal bark, marshmallows, dipped pretzles even chocolate dipped twinkies. They have all the chocolate flavors and even a few vegan options. I'm from Seattle so loved that they had our Seattle chocolate represented. Staff was helpful and friendly.

Funny how dahlonega is not impacted by covid. No social distancing. Nonetheless, it was PACKED. So crowded!! Something about this place has a different feel than any other fudge/chocolate shop. You can see the staff making the goodies in the open! It was cool to see it so near. Got so many different things! - Chocolate covered potato chip which was Pringle's. I liked it but I didn't love it. I've had chocolate covered regular potato chip and I prefer that. My husband did not like it at all. So... buy at your own risk. - s'mores. The best thing ever. I typically hate marshmallows but you gotta get it. - chocolate hazelnut bark, awesome. Chocolate, hazelnut. What could go wrong? - chocolate covered Twinkie... dude... DUDE... I'd eat this multiple times all day everyday. The was a good contrast of hard shell chocolate and soft creamy cake inside - chocolate covered oatmeal pie was okay. It wasn't really a good pair. The oatmeal pie density and the hard shell chocolate was eh If you're in town, stop by! Well there aren't that many dessert spots, and this one is a pretty solid one!

For me, the first sample (lemon) had me hooked with its delicious sweet Meyer flavor. They also have a lemon meringue ice cream, which sounds divine, but I didn't go for ice cream in addition to fudge. Maybe I'll try that next time! My wife is a candy apple adficianado, and reports that their apple pie and white chocolate apple is to die for. What really pushed this review over the top was the beyond friendly employee who was happy to answer questions and helped a pregnant woman who was feeling a little faint in the sun by bringing her some ice water. The bread pudding was delicious last night, and the servers were so friendly even with our arriving later in the evening. The breakfast this morning was glorious. We had the fried chicken and lost bread (aka French toast) and breakfast sandwiches made on beignets and Gouda grits. We sat on the balcony, which is totally worth waiting an extra 10 minutes if you're wondering. But the wait time was definitely an overestimate and we got called in 15 minutes sooner than expected. The service was wonderful. Our server was attentive, and even filled my Stanley with iced water to take with me for the day, which was a lovely touch.

We had our 12 lb bundle of puppy joy with us so to the back deck we went. I think Dakotah was the only server on the main floor, both inside and out because it took a long time. Long time for water. He was busy even though the restaurant wasn't full. Poor guy. My hubby ordered the muffaletta and wasn't impressed. He ate it though. He loved his Abita root beer. I decided to order from the side menu and I'm so happy I did. The andouille sausage was grilled and tasty. The maque choux was amazing. Think Mexican corn with a Louisiana twist. Perfection!! The loaded grits were also wonderful- chocked full of gouda, bacon, and green onions. Delicious! The gumbo was thick like a stew. The flavor was smoky and sublime. My only beef is instead of all gumbo, the cup was filled mostly with rice... topped with gumbo. Overall we enjoyed our dinner. However, due to the pace of things, the underwhelming sandwich and perception of getting shorted on the chicken and gumbo. I wouldn't hesitate to swing by and order a maque choux to go as a snack except they charge $1 for the to-go container.

This time we came after hiking all day and sat outside with our dogs. Ambiance-touristy Irish pub. It's a big place that still tries to be Irish-ish. They fail but it's a worthwhile effort and people seem to like it. One issue with the design-it's a huge place but they have 2-single person bathrooms-one next to the bar and one on the second floor. I don't even understand how you get a building permit with that occupancy and so few bathrooms. My wife and I each got a burger, sub veggie patty. They are getting 2 stars for the fact they don't upcharge for the vegan patty. Everyone upcharges for a veggie burger, so this is an impressive give-a-way to customers. However, I added mushrooms and roasted red peppers, which added $2 each, and gluten free sandwich bread, which was a $5 upcharge. First, those veggies should not be a $2 upcharge each. That's obnoxious. Your menu burgers have toppings and are cheaper than a plain burger with 2 veggies. But, I am not taking stars away for the upcharge. I saw them, I accepted them. My problem is that with those changes, this was a $25 burger at an Irish pub in north GA and it tasted like a $5 burger from an Irish pub in north GA. It was dry, unseasoned, and very bland. You charged me $5 for 2 slices of bread from a loaf that costs $7.99 retail. A red pepper is $0.75 cents, maybe, retail, and for a couple teaspoons you charged me $2. Who knows what mushrooms cost, but the point is, for two toppings and sub 2 slices of sandwich bread, you charged me for a high-end steakhouse burger and served me a terrible backyard grill burger. On top of that, I ordered a whiskey (knob creek) on the rocks. On my check was a $2 rocks charge. So...you charged me $2 for ice? It makes no sense. It's the same amount of liquor. When I asked the server about it, she said because they pour an extra 2 ounces in. Obviously she lied because she had no clue what she was talking about. First, why would adding ice equal and extra 2 ounces? Maybe if I asked for an up martini or something, but I am adding volume, so why would you also add liquor? Second, my whiskey was $13 and a restaurant shot is 1, maybe 1.5 ounces. Do you really mean to tell me you gave me an extra 2 shots, maybe an extra 1.33 shots of a $13 liquor for $2 only because I asked for ice? I'm not an idiot. So, poor food, lying service, and unreasonable upcharges. I'm not coming back
