All the food I ordered was super yummy. The service was amazing; the server frequently gave us coffee refills and was very friendly. The restrooms were clean with lots of decor. Overall Paul's is a great place to get breakfast if you want great service and delicious food.

It's been a while since my first review here, so an update is in order :) Paul's still has the cozy, homey inside dining room, but now has expanded their outside seating with more tables and chairs ~ a great option when the weather is nice! Even sitting outside, service was great. Our food came out in a timely manner and our server made sure our coffee cups were kept full. We both ordered breakfast today. My friend's omelette with egg whites was beautiful and my chicken fried steak was delicious. It's great to be able to come here knowing that the food is consistently good and service is always friendly.

Our waitress was Tina she's so sweet so nice fun to chat with she's like family our food was great as usual. I absolutely love my grits with extra cheese I only get them here I love the decoration inside all decorations made home made like. There's even a shelf for regulars to have their own coffee cups. So cool ! Thank you for yet another wonderful breakfast. We will see you soon Tina.

Paul's Country Kitchen looks like a very local favorite in Placentia. I came here after shopping at Trader Joe's and was looking for some tasty American breakfast. I came across Paul's and decided to give this place a try. I automatically fell in love with how they made the inside and the patio, with tons of decorations that really make you feel like you are in America. The menu has a vast variety of options. I picked something off of the house favorites which was named Tijuana Treat! It has three eggs and is filled with ground beef, tomatoes, onions, sour cream, and cheese. Overall whatever they did it was good! I ate the whole thing!! So if you are looking for delicious diner style food this is the spot with friendly service.

Very excellent service. Lots of breakfast choices and good, hot coffee. Food arrived quickly and hot (not cold). Prices are reasonable too.

Service was great. Packed lil restaurant on strip mall. Seemed to be a lot regulars at this place. Parking is good. They have daily specials. The coffee was light for me. They are attentive to all patrons. My order was Debbie's special 2 pancakes, 1 egg 2 bacon/sausage. I ordered a side of toast. Pancakes were decent and flavor of vanilla. However the butter they use is margarine. It doesn't melt. There was a hefty coating it just sits on top of of whatever item it is put on. Therefore that was my low rating. We ordered oatmeal as well and the fresh fruit was partial fresh they also added canned peaches.I would probably not be back not my taste but give it a shot it might be something else you like. Service is impeccable.

We walked in on an early Sunday morning and were greeted and seated right away. Our server was one of the friendliest people we've encountered, bringing the concept of unreasonable hospitality to life. The food was good, and I particularly loved the variety of breakfast side options. Fresh tomatoes and sourdough toast with a scramble sounded just perfect. The place was bustling, and the bathroom decor was always fresh and interesting. I also enjoyed the dog wall. If I lived nearby, I would definitely be a regular!

Came here yet again for the country fried steak and super pleased with it!! Love that they aren't stingy w the gravy and that they let you semi customize your plate! So for me I got extra crispy hashbrowns and a pancake on the side, super delicious, super fresh, staff is super friendly ...seriously can never go wrong!

Never even knew this place existed until snagging a drink at the new Better Buzz near by.. Took the family hoping for an excellent breakfast, but sadly it was a let down... I will note that the service was excellent! A complete five stars to their team for the friendly, helpful, and prompt service. It was a busy Saturday morning but no family was left hanging.. Where I drop to three stars is the food. The presentation will get you, but you wont find a match with taste. The plates come out so perfectly decorated with their fine breakfast choices. Large fluffy pancakes, tasty looking bacon and sausage. Even the eggs looked satisfying, all yellow and funky. Unfortunately our table unanimously agreed the food had no flavor. Everything was so bland, couldn't even be saved with the salt/pepper, jellies, syrup, etc. I hate to break it, but the food fits the taste buds of a certain crowd, but we aren't there.. For my plate, the peaches were probably the only half decent part, but those were simply poured into a bowl from a can.. With some enhancements to the flavor, this place would have so many more people leaving satisfied. Until then, I donated $90 to an uncomfortable meal.. Heavy love to the staff though x2, the world needs more people like them.

As always the service was spot on - timely and pleasant . Love the Tijuana Treat because who could ask for more than eggs, seasoned ground beef, ortega chili and cheese.

Small mom/pop spot with the friendliest servers. Feels very much like "grandmas kitchen". Food was good and served quickly. My only issue is that it is incredibly hot in there. They had the doors open for air flow but it did not help much as we were all sweaty by the time we left breakfast.

The host and the waitress were both nice and accommodating. We had avocado toast (one order each). The food was definitely fresh, and the salsa they brought over to add on top of yourself was a great addition. Without it, there wasn't much flavor at all but we wanted something lite and this was it! The portion size for the amount you pay was worth it compared to any other socal restaurant. The decor inside is exactly what you think it might be for an old Timey restaurant and gave off a certain vibe.

Once we placed our order, the food came out surprisingly fast. The menu is huge, with plenty of classic breakfast choices, so even picky eaters will have no problem finding something they like. I ordered the pancakes, and they were fluffy, flavorful, and definitely worth ordering again. Before leaving, I couldn't help but notice the display of mini pies and fresh pastries. They looked delicious and gave the diner that classic hometown feel. I'll definitely be trying one on my next visit. If you're looking for a traditional breakfast spot with generous portions, friendly service, and comforting food, Mr. D's Diner is a solid choice. It's not fancy--and it doesn't need to be. As someone who was spoiled by truly great chicken fried steak back when I lived in the Pacific Northwest, I'll admit I'm picky. Down here in this part of OC, there aren't many spots that even come close. Mr. D's? Not quite PNW-level--but honestly, pretty darn acceptable (and that says a lot lol). Their chicken fried steak comes out generous: well-battered, nicely fried, served with country potatoes and veggies. I do miss a good old biscuit and chunky, meaty gravy, but their version--while smoother and less chunky--is still tasty and satisfying.( but seriously, you could add more lol) We had an early family dinner here and everything hit the spot. I had the chicken fried steak, my fiancé ordered the chilaquiles, and the kids went classic with a BLT and a hamburger, both with fries. No complaints all around. Service is friendly and efficient, the restaurant is clean, bright, and very well kept. And the décor? Full-on 1950s diner vibes--done right. Not kitschy, not cheap-looking, just straight-up retro cool. Kudos to the Mr. D's team for committing to the theme. I didn't try the pies yet (they're staring at you from the display case), but they looked tempting enough that I know I'll be back. Solid diner, generous portions, good vibes. Definitely worth a stop.

So after my shift this morning, I rolled back into Loaded Cafe with cautious optimism... and a healthy dose of side-eye. I'm happy to report this visit was much better. Nice and Clean. Staff attentive, once they saw that I was there. The coffee hit the spot, and they brought out a fresh concha that was soft, warm, and exactly what it should be. My only complaint? One concha? That's just rude. At least two should come with coffee. I'm pretty sure that's somewhere in the Constitution. Then came the French toast, and it absolutely redeemed itself. Thick, fluffy, buttery, and exactly what I was hoping for after a long morning. No complaints there. The best part, though, was getting to chat with the new manager. It's refreshing to see someone who genuinely seems to care about improving the experience. That conversation gave me hope that my previous visit was the exception, not the rule. So here's to second chances. This visit earned one. I'm rooting for the team to keep heading in this direction because I'd love for no one else to experience the epic breakfast fail I had just a month ago. This time around: worth the stop. Next time... just slide another concha onto that tray and we'll really be onto something.

I also got a strawberry Belgian Waffle covered in fruit (it comes with cheese but I didn't like that). My husband got eggs and hash browns with sausage, which he devoured. Our entire meal was $50-something which I think was great considering I added on the waffle meal, so 3 total. Just delicious! I always thank the cooks. They deserve it! She didn't have a good answer for me, just replied that there were a lot of nuts in the kitchen. I asked her to please let me know what specific nuts were present in the kitchen and if my daughter would be safe dining there. The server seemed dismissive and completely forgot to get back to me about it after she said she would go find out. Of course as a family with someone having a severe food allergy, we run into this all the time. It's not a new thing to feel like we are a burden or a bother. It IS disappointing when it seems the server has never been asked this question before and its even more disappointing when you're also met with a "well why are you asking me these bothersome questions" vibe. This is again, something we experience almost on the daily whenever we eat out. It's disappointing each time. It's a shame as I enjoyed my meal here. I wish more restaurants realized how much their response matters when it comes to customers coming in that live lives balancing danger in order to eat but also deserve to eat and enjoy their dining experience just like everyone else as much as possible. Someone with a life threatening food allergy SHOULD have access to at least some of the menu. Of course sometimes it cannot be helped but in general and as much as possible, if you are serving food, never mind people with preferences. Those who live with severe food allergies navigate a very difficult life and food establishments should know this comes down to inclusivity and safety and more awareness is needed (and at least the efforts to want to try) on how to serve the severely life threatened population. No one should be excluded or at the least it is what restaurants should aim for. Restaurants should be asking the severe food allergy community questions on how to keep them safe as they eat - clear allergen information on menus, trained staff on how to respond when informed that there is a food allergy present at the table, knowledgable on what is safe to eat on the menu and what are some protocols that the kitchen will follow in order to serve food safely and also offer some peace of mind - are all steps in the right direction. Everyone deserves to eat. Severe food allergy do not mean to be a bother. They want to eat and they want to stay safe. No one should ever be told, "you shouldnt eat here" because the food establishment cant be bothered to have some sort of plan on serving food safely to the severe food allergy population.
