My gf and I were in search for a new breakfast spot locally and found Paul's country kitchen. The servers are all great! They are always providing great customer service and are very attentive and friendly. There's been times when we weren't sure what to order and they all give great menu recommendations. It seems like everything in the menu is great and there isn't a dish you can go wrong with. I recommend the Tijuana treat, mega skillet, French toast, and the pancakes are great as well. The OJ is a must try! If you like homemade hot sauce, definitely ask to try both sauces. The pricing is fair and portions are generous. If you're not so hungry a dish can be shared between two people. Inside and outside seating is available and it can get pretty busy depending on the time of day. Every single time the hash have arrived undercooked. You have had to ask for them to be cooked well, to avoid a mushy center. I have been here twice. The first time I dined in and most recently, I ordered food to go. I had the chicken fried steak when I dined in and it was pretty tasty. I ordered a bacon and egg breakfast plate to go and everything was good as well. It came with two eggs, which I got scrambled, 4 pieces of bacon, hash brown and a choice of bread. I asked for well done bacon and hash brown and both came out really crispy and delicious. For the bread, I had a biscuit smothered in country gravy. The biscuit was buttery and soft. The gravy was thick and savory, but it had bacon pieces instead of the traditional sausage. I think I would have enjoyed it more with sausage. Prices were reasonable given that the serving size was pretty big and the food was enough to share between two people. Customer service was good and service for take out was quick. However, there can be a long wait during peak hours and weekends as this restaurant is popular amongst the locals. read more

Was introduced to this place about 2 years ago. Very small and intimate mom and pop that is full of hustle and bustle the way you would expect a breakfast only place to be. Everything from eggs to chicken fried steak you can explore the menu and find something for everyone. They are also famous for their house made giant cinnamon rolls! Seems like a family owned place because everyone seems to be on that level with each other. Service is great and for the most part quick! We always enjoy a tasty breakfast at Paul's Country Kitchen AKA Two Sister's Cafe. The wait staff is friendly and attentive and the food is delicious. My husband ordered the Queen's French Toast, made with cinnamon rolls. If that wasn't decadent enough he opted for a topping of peaches and whipped cream. The scrambled eggs were overcooked and had brown edges, the hash browns were cold, the bacon was cold and tasted like it was cooked yesterday, and the pancakes were really heavy and firm. What a tremendous find this place turned out to be. For years now my wife and I have alternated choosing our Sunday morning breakfast spot. Sometimes it will be a regular favorite, something tried and true and sometimes we will steer off the beaten path and try something new. It was during one of those trips where I strayed and found this place. Over our four separate visits now I have never left disappointed or dissatisfied in my experience in any way, shape or fashion. My go to dish and favorite is by far the cowboy omelette with the green enchilada omelette being a close second. The portions are large and ample, the prices are right where they need to be and the service (although not overly friendly) is always on top of things. Besides our three Sunday visits together we also met up with our once a month breakfast crew (aptly named the Breakfast Club by my wife) and everyone really seemed to enjoy the place as well. The biscuits and gravy seemed to be a consensus favorite and although I haven't tried them yet myself they definitely look delicious. and I may have to get these on a future visit to indulge in myself. Paul's Country Kitchen has quickly moved itself up my breakfast ranks and firmly confined in my top five breakfast joints. My hubby and I came here and ordered takeout and I was very pleased with the homey feeling of the restaurant; the hostess was very welcoming and friendly and we were able to get our food without delay. The last time I came here I was very disappointed in the racism from one of their servers. One of the employees was complaining about a man who had hit on her - which I understand can be very aggravating working within the customer service industry. However, when confiding in other customers and her coworker - she expressed racist remarks about Mexicans, as well as saying on repeat "Go back to where you came from and pick up a girl from the border." By no means am I trying to make this PC... I don't care about your beliefs - BUT I don't feel that it's acceptable to be publicly talking as such when the staff, as well as customers like myself and my family are Latinos. OK, first things first, I hate giving this restaurant any kind of negative but yesterday's experience definitely warrants it. First, when I lived in Brea 25 years ago, I used to go to this restaurant many many times. Always one of our favorites. No longer live in Brea and yesterday had to take the wife to UCI Medical Center in Orange So on the way home we decided to see if this was still a route. To our amazement it was. We just had to eat here again. Everything was as I remembered it. Even called my daughter and sent her pictures to tell her about where we were. So far review doesn't warrant any negativity. Halfway through our meal, I saw something that I thought was moving on the ground. Lo and behold it was about one and a half inch long cockroach. Just wandering around on the floor. I asked our server if she could come over to us and she did and I proceeded to whisper to her about that there was a bug on the floor and kind of halfway pointed towards that direction so she will get an idea of where and she abruptly said "be quiet.". Well I was quiet and I just told her I wanted to make her aware and she said that they had just sprayed for bugs the day before and she hates when that happens. Now at this point I still don't have a problem because things happen and I understand. I was a little thrown off by her "be quiet " comment to me, but OK no worries. I'll let it go. She sent a busser to see where it was, and I kind of pointed to him where it was, and he actually did spot it and grabbed a napkin and was able to catch one of them. I forgot to mention at that point I had seen two that seem to get together and hang out in the same spot together, but the guy caught at least one. Just threw the napkin into the trash and that was that. What throws me off is that our server never said another single solitary word to me about it. " thank you for letting me know.", " oh my gosh I'm so sorry", absolutely nothing. My wife is human resources for a multi million dollar company and she said that type of customer service would never happen at her stores. Would not be tolerated. I get this is a mom and Pop place, but you could at least say something to your customers. I mentioned to the server that the table of senior ladies behind us were also looking at it and looked like they were kind of scared or disgusted, but they were never addressed. Like a little damage control goes a long way you know. Didn't really want to hurt this establishment by a bad review but I do want management to know what's going on . read more

I have a soft spot for diners and lucked up on this place. The restaurant is on the small side and it was crowded so we put our name in the waitlist. There's no place to sit inside and wait so we waited outside. The waitlist moved pretty quickly. We hostess was vet hospitable as she gave us a very friendly warm greeting. I ordered the eggs Benedict. Hubby ordered the turkey burger and onion rings. The portions were generous. The onion rings had a nice crunch, not soggy. The prices are reasonable.
