Good to eat in the car when your food is displayed for you. - choice of ordering wheat or regular bread/buns - large menu - large portions - yummy grated parmesan cheese on my fried zucchinis Cons - fish over fried. Tasted burnt. - drive thru took awhile. - almost forgot to give me my drink if i didnt remind her. Overall, good fast food joint. For my two items, basically a meal, it was $8.86. I almost gave 3 stars but I went up to 4 considering it was 4 stars before CoVid. The drive-thru was very popular on the Sunday afternoon we came for lunch. They have a narrow patio & that's where we sat. We were puzzled as to why they didn't offer indoor seating. Their dining room looked as if it could accommodate that convenience as other OC eating establishments have had to do. Anyway, it was a little cumbersome but we did use the patio. We ordered at the counter & they called our name when it was ready. I got one of my favorites, The Broasted Chicken & my Boyfriend got the Fish & Chips. You usually have to wait 20-30 mins if you get the chicken but it's worth it. This time not so much. It was still good but the breading was kind of soggy instead of crisp & the pieces were a bit smaller than I remember. It still tasted good & you become somewhat dazzled by the amount of fries they provide. Love the fries! They're fat & tender. If that's not enough carbs for you they throw in a few Potato Wedges & really good garlic rolls. Oh yeah, and Onion Rings. Keto...this ain't! To help absolve you of your sins you have a choice of Green Salad (fresh & crisp) or Cole Slaw. The Fish & Chips was good but not great & that too came with fries, onion rings, bread, salad or slaw. My to-go order included a bacon cheese burger and fries for my husband. And zucchini for me. When I got home...3 minutes away... my husbands hamburger was barely warm and the fries were Cold. My Zucchini on the other hand was very hot. So it seems they weren't organized enough to have the food ready at the same time. This location of Paul's Place has absolutely the best burgers in the neighborhood. Very reasonably priced and large portions. And the staff are always friendly and they always have a smile on the face! My favorite go-to is the Colossal Burger, which is a pastrami burger with fried zucchinis. I think this place makes the best fried zucchini I have ever had. My backup Burger is the blue cheese bacon burger. And their fries are great too. The woman tells me that The burger itself is $10. So that means $6 for fries and $2 for a drink? lol She proceeds to tell me that despite wanting a plain burger, they still charge for the tomatoes and the lettuce.... wouldnt i be doing them a favor by saving them more lettuce and tomatoes instead of me just throwing them away if i got it in my burger? whatever. i asked her to remove the drink, she told me the new price of $16. she continues to awkwardly stare at me, giggle, and speak to her coworkers on the headset. I told her i was better off going to in n out where i could get a fresh burger for half the price of what they were trying to charge me. Placed an order via drive thru. I pay for my order and get it only to find when I get home they didn't include the entree. I ordered one thing. I got the sides but no entree. I thought the bag felt light when they handed it off but why would I think you double check? I called and of course was on hold forever. Came here to get lunch through the drive thru. I understand the long wait time in the drive thru as they make food to order and that really wasn't the problem. The problem was the "Make It A Combo" price. To add fried and drink to a burger is literally the same price as a burger. I ordered a cheese burger combo and on their menu it says the burger is $5.99 but making it a combo cost me $11.99, which they DO NOT have the "Make It A Combo" price on the menu anymore. It literally has tape over the price. $6 extra for fries and a drink?!?! We try to support local businesses instead of hitting big fast food chains but the price gouging is absurd. Unfortunately I will never be eating here again. The burgers aren't anything special. They taste fine but no wow factor to pay $12 for that meal. Warning any and all who come here.
