I normally brag about this place, but this morning I had a terrible experience. I ordered biscuits and gravy for takeout. I got all the way home and discovered there was absolutely no gravy at all! I called back and told them about it and made a return trip. They said they would remake the meal, and they did not. There was no compensation offered at all even when I suggested it. My family and I have been coming here for years, we like it so much. The girls here are so sweet and accommodating and cooks will prepare your meal however you need it, which is great for food sensitive individuals. The atmosphere is super inviting, it's kinda like being at home, especially when you're a regular and everyone knows your name and they do! My husband had been to Paul's Place before but I never had so we tried it out last week together for dinner. The place is so cute! It was a little dark inside but very cozy. They had 50''s -60's music playing which reminded me of my childhood and listening to my parents music. It had a super fun atmosphere. You go up to a counter and order your meal, then get your drinks at the beverage counter and take a seat anywhere you'd like, they bring your meal out to you. Our waiter was very good, he checked on us a couple of times and was very friendly. I got the chicken strip meal and my husband got a (huge) chicken sandwich. Each meal came with French fries, mine also came with onion rings and a side salad. The portions were very generous. We love great diners like Paul's and were so happy to find one in Orange that serves *broasted* chicken. Think of super juicy fried chicken minus the grease. I love Paul's Place but this location is just rude. I walked in at 7:56pm, I know exactly what time it was because I texted my husband to ask what he wanted to eat. I was looking at the menu for a couple minutes. There were people dining in. And a gentleman in line in front of me had just gotten his food and went to fill his soda. There were 2 other customers sitting on the bench waiting for their food. A couple employees were chatting behind the counter and bagging up food for the waiting people. I was being polite and waiting my turn. Nobody asked if I was ready to order so I asked if somebody could take my order. The girl said that they were closed. I looked at her in shock and disapointment. I was hungry. I looked at my phone and it was 8:04pm. She said they closed at 8:00pm. I told her I walked in the unlocked door before 8:00pm and was waiting behind the other customers so I could order. She said sorry and walked away. He gets the egg sandwich and it has bacon inside the eggs. I eat half of it because I don't want it to go to waste. My husband doesn't eat pork so he was still hungry and I called and they tell me bring the whole sandwich in. 15+ year customer never to return. I placed a order a couple weeks ago and I had a hair in my food!! Mistakes happen!! I called Irene the manager and she gave me a hard time. I called the Buena Park store I've gone to for a very long time left message no call back..called again and received response to replace my order. 2 weeks after incident I was by the store today and was greeted by Paul the owner basically telling me I was liar about my food and I was there to get something for free!! Good fast food. Place is clean. Old school setting, friendly waitresses. Large portions, good food and a nice place to relax or have lunch with a friend while on break. I recommend the avocado burger and the BLT. Food can be greasy at times, according to what you are picking. read more

I love Paul's, my food is always really good. My family and I eat here pretty regularly there's something for everyone even the vegetarian in the family has options. I love the Chicken gyro salad, it's healthy and delicious. The ranch dressing is so good. The portions are huge so there's always leftovers. Besides the food being great the staff is always super friendly and makes me feel welcome every time I'm there (usually at least once a week). All around it's a great place to eat. read more

I've been here so many times and only a few have been what I would consider bad however after last night I won't be back. We placed our order at 7:15 and they was no one behind us. After 15 minutes we went up and asked what was the hold up. A guy came to the table and apologized and said it would only be a minute. After another 15 minutes, a half an hour now, we asked one of the girls where's our food? She came back and asked us what we ordered. Really?!?! They LOST our order. You lost our order?! Boy they have sure done a fantastic job decorating this place. Which was a dump before the new owners took over! And the food is awesome. I've had a lot of their dishes. I also disagree with some of the other reviews. Pastrami is delicious and not dry or flavorless. Love the hamburgers and any of the Mexican dishes! Staff are wonderful, friendly, helpful and on top of customer service. Definitely a new favorite spot to come and highly recommend coming here! read more

Burgers, shakes, salads, deli favorites, Mexican, and Greek. The huge menu takes a bit to get through but everything we have tried has been far beyond our expectation for the price. By far the worst Paul's place I have ever been to. The food is mediocre at best and the prices are kind of pricy for what you get. So today I ordered a Chicken breast sandwich ($5.99) that I upgraded to a combo. Total price for that $11.99 + tax. Now I'm no math wiz but how can a side of fries and drink add up to an extra $6.00?!?!?! Whatever, I got ripped off... it happens, hopefully the food was good right? Wrong. I asked for light mayo and both top and bottom bun had excess mayo. The chicken had so much seasoning that it tasted a bit salty, also I think it might have been a little under cooked. Needless to say I would have been better off st Carl's Jr. My GF got a ham and cheese omlette with their home style fries. Imagine a omlette with two craft singles (cheese slices) on top of the omlette with a side of thin potato slices (substitute for hash browns). It tasted bland and she didn't even eat half of it. The only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars instead of just 1 is because the dining area is very clean and the staff is really nice. Unfortunately though, not enough to have me coming back. We love this place, it is 50's themed. You have to walk up to order, but they will bring your food to your table if you decide to dine in. They​ serve large portions so definitely​ share if you're not too hungry. The staff is really friendly and we have never experienced anything but excellent​ service. This is my favorite breakfast spot for Sunday's! They have great deals and they're really quick to serve. Depends what time you get there, the longest you wait is to order at the cashier. This food place is pretty great for the selection. I personally enjoy their breakfast burritos and their salad options. I have yet to try other items, but definitely plan on coming back to see what other tasty items they have. Parking is a little difficult since it smaller and close to an intersection by a train track. The portions are generous and decently priced. It's pretty clean and the service is not bad at all.
