Food truck right next to I-35 so not much ambiance to speak of but they had a covered seating so shoutout for that. Service is super fast with food coming out in less than 15 minutes. Got the velvet pav bhaji and it was fantastic. Tangy, flavorful bhaji dipped with a crusted pav was the ultimate bite. I barely tasted the beetroot in it. As for the dhai bata chaat, it was refreshing to cleanse my palate after the pav bhaji. Cooling, crunchy and sweet all in one- but I wouldn't go back for it. All in all, great place for some casual street food, get the velvet bhaji, skip the chaats unless you have a craving for it.

The food was full of flavor. The bread was soft and crunchy at the same time. The green sauce (I'm not sure what the correct names are ) tasted a lot like Mexican green mole! They are both a tad bit spicy but tolerable and enjoyable (no tears, mild fiery spice). And the crunchy parts on the side beside the onion were so yummy, I'm not sure what it was. Overall, this is a good meal for one person since for the quantity - no leftovers. The workers are so kind and conversational! Especially if you aren't as familiar with Indian food (this is my second Indian dish). They have a nice area with artificial grass, yellow string lights, picnic tables with umbrellas and some under a tarp and although not in the city, it is besides the city. Overall great calm place with plenty of parking (and safe)

This has been on my list to try for awhile and finally made it here today - we showed up right as it opened at 12 which was perfect because we got a table with an umbrella to sit there and eat. We ordered: 1. Dabeli - very tasty and different; worth trying. 2. Avocado Jhalmuri - also very different and super tasty 3. Vada Pav + Thecha Pav (spicy and regular) - both good 4. Dahi Sev Puri - made fresh and delicious 5. Amul Cheese Pav Bhaji - not pictured bc we started attacking it quickly. This was spicy but tasty! 6. We also got a Mango Lassi, Chai and Chaas All in all, great spot. Come early because it gets crowded and you may not get a table to sit at and eat. It did take awhile to get our food which was the only semi negative. Plenty of parking and friendly team working!

My fav go-to spot for a quick Indian street food close to downtown. The location is amazing with ample parking space. The menu was welcoming , with different varieties of Pav Bhaji. I have got the Amul cheese pab bhaji and the special pav bhaji. I loved the Amul cheese better, it was soothing and great. I should say this is one of the best pav bhajis I have ever had in the US. Especially getting Indian food south of the river is really hard and this place stands out. The gravy was creamy and yummy and the bread is of top quality. I also got the vada pav and the potato's outer layer wasn't the best. It was a little crunchy and not moist so I would not get that again but the potato filling was amazing. The samosa chat was excellent and the samosa was really fresh and crunchy.

After moving to Austin, I was excited to dive into the local food truck scene, and my first stop was Pav Bhaji Express near downtown. Given how popular food trucks are in Austin, I was eager to try this one. Overall, the experience was great. We sampled a variety of dishes including pav bhaji, Pani puri, and vada pav. The pav bhaji and Pani puri were particularly enjoyable, with vibrant flavors and satisfying portions. However, I was less impressed with the vada pav--it didn't quite meet my expectations. Despite that, Pav Bhaji Express is definitely worth a visit for its flavorful offerings. I look forward to exploring more food trucks around Austin!

This has become our go-to Indian food truck. One of the best Indian street food food-truck. The gentleman, whose name I can't recall, who takes orders is such friendly welcoming sweet person. Service is amazing. Food is amazing. Quantity of food amazing. Decently priced. Their now not-so-new anymore new location is much better given it has ample parking available. What more does one need. Must try: Any pav bhaji (my fav is amul cheese pav bhaji), dahi batata sev puri, avocado jhalmuri (because feels so healthy to eat and unique). And well actually I love everything on their menu. Have tried everything, except beverages, and enjoyed it all. They had recently started serving fresh watermelon juice with this heat wave and that felt so refreshing. Hope they add more seasonals to the menu.

We are so happy to finally have Indian food options in South Austin. This is an interesting location and hopefully they get a lot of foot traffic from Zilker and Barton Springs. They have also made good use of the limited space at the gas station, creating some outdoor seating options to enjoy your food fresh. Portion sizes are generous and filling. The gentleman taking the orders, possibly the owner, was considerably and genuine. We got a papdi chaat and a Pav Bhaji. The Bhaji was flavored very well and we recommend it. The chaat was okay but I'm also extra particular about my chaat so you should give it a try for yourself. They had just made fresh biryani and we were so tempted, if we weren't traveling tomorrow. I hope they continue to stay busy - as they were today - and do well. It's nice to see the new Indian businesses thriving and becoming more mainstream.

Tried this place on weekend afternoon. Vada pav was ok, not too spicy and oily but not sure why it was served with sweet chutney. The concept of serving with bhujia, chutney and chopped onion was good. Dabeli was good but had too much sweet chutney, portion size was good. I went to their previous location, next to zilker park. If you go there in the afternoon (not sure about the new place) be ready to stand in sun or you can choose to sit inside car. Parking are limited as well. The menu on the food truck didn't have prices so you have ask for paper menu or check prices online. Overall good option for south Austin given that are not many Indian food trucks in that area. Maybe I'll give pav bhaji a try next time.

Surrounded by a gas station and throngs of young people exiting Zilker Park and Barton Springs exists the Pav Bhaji Express, a Veg Only food truck that, considering the demographics that surrounds it, is surprisingly authentic. My Indian friend and I came here to try it out since I just moved nearby, and we were totally blown away. The food was a bit pricy, but the serving sizes were large and the quality was spectacular. We got the biryani, bav bhaji (of course) and one of their chaats, and all three dishes were incredible. For a largely to-go place, I was also super impressed with the food presentation as well. It did take awhile to come out (~25 minutes) but the place was pretty packed, so not exactly exactly surprising. Overall I'd highly recommend.

The food here is SPECTACULAR!! I love the quality and the service! The staff is knowledgeable and kind. They have a great outdoor space, but with the Texas heat, it's hard to sit and tolerate the outdoor heat. That being said, this place will be a perfect spot in cooler temperatures! The quality of the vegetables is surprisingly great. I recommend this food truck to anyone who LOVES vegetarian Indian fare and FLAVOR. Come on and give it a try. read more

We have been to this food truck twice and we think the pav and bhaji here is superb. The truck itself is nicely decorated and staff is friendly while taking our orders and hanDing us the food. We've gotten to go orders both times because there really are only two tables to sit and eat and parking is a challenge especially when it's crowded. We really like the masala pav and the amul cheese pav bhaji a lot and the Vada pav. It's quite authentic. Biriyani is okayish and we don't recommend the chaat items. read more

Best chaat I've had outside of India. You have to try to pav bhaji of course but the samosa chat and vada pav are also not to be missed. If you are tired of watery, mild samosa chat, this is the place for you. The ingredients tasted fresh and well seasoned (and on the spicier side as it should be). Kudos also for the effort in presentation. Chai was actually the biggest surprise as I've gotten used to substandard, giant sized chai anywhere in the US. It was actually true to flavor. read more

For my first time trying Mumbai street food, the very friendly owner suggested that I try the Avocado Jhalmuri. Amazing flavors and the chutneys served with it were so fresh and delicious. My brother and I visited Austin for a day and wanted to get quick lunch and found Pav Bhaji Express on Yelp. We wanted to try and were NOT disappointed. We ate Pav Bhaji and Vegetable Samosa. We were reminded of our teenage days from the streets of Mumbai in the late '60s and early '70s. Outstanding taste. I recommend this place strongly. read more

First time I tried this place it was kind of a bust, there was hardly any filling in my pani puri and they forgot to pack the pani! They also swapped out a dish without telling me (I called to confirm that this was done intentionally because they ran out of what I had ordered, I'm pretty sure I got a refund but I would've liked to choose the dish they swapped in.) I gave them another try and the pani puri was MUCH better. One suggestion though, don't put anything on the puris, they had ALL soaked through and had a soggy hole in them by the time I got home. If they had just left them plain/dry the dish would've been 5 stars. read more

The guy at this food truck was super nice and even taught us how to eat pani poori because it was my boyfriend and I's first time trying it! Flavor 10/10 , customer service 10/10, presentation 10/10 and he gave us a free water because I'm a bit of a wuss with spice. It was only sriracha level spicy so even if u cannot handle spice that well you can still enjoy it! If Yelp would allow me give a 10, that would be my rating. I saw them on IG last night and planned my entire day of eating (minimally) around this truck because I couldn't stop thinking about what I saw. I've apparently never had Mumbai Indian food because this was the most different food I've ever had. I can't say enough how delicious it was and right at the end of my street which is filled with touristy restaurants that I barely go to. But not this place. I didn't know what much of anything was on the menu but the extremely kind gentleman helped me figure it out. I'm so grateful they came to the neighborhood and I will go here all the time! read more

We were so excited that it moved closer to us. Hoping it will be our once a week Indian to go place. Well, we were very disappointed with the service. Order wasn't ready on time and being delayed to serve others that came after me. And than to find out that the food wasn't served properly. Seemed like leftover of the end of day. Yes, we are not Indian but when brought to their attention they just didn't care. Again, I am sure being 'not Indian' wasn't important to serve me properly or to care. So sorry a business will run this way. All they needed is to correct the order and we would be their best customer. read more

Great little food truck. We were driving and saw them in the Chevron parking lot. Very limited parking, luckily found a spot behind the Chevron. The food is all vegetarian. No meat options which my wife did not like. However, she liked the samosas. They did not have Biryani which was a little disappointing.The food was awesome in my opinion. I have had a lot of Indian food in Texas. This was the best so far. We had a Mongo Lassi for a drink which was gone before the food, so should say a lot about the drink. I didn't even get to try a Samosa : ( If you need drinks like a soda Chevron is stocked. read more

Saw this place on tiktok and had to try it out. I must say, it was an absolutely delightful experience from start to finish. The moment I approached the truck, I was greeted with warm smiles and exceptional service from the workers. Their friendliness and attentiveness truly enhanced the overall atmosphere. Tried the Veg Dum Biryani -- So good! Delicious aromatic rice with crispy onions and veggies throughout with 3 sauces. It was enough food for 3-4 meals. The guys who work there are super nice - I live nearby and will be back for sure! read more

Gordough's is one of those places that fully commits to indulgence. I was able to place my order online and schedule for pick up. The order was ready when I arrived. Parking was a bit challenging and the lot was full and they charge for parking. Service was quick, casual, just good energy and fast turnaround. I ordered my tried and true Miss Shortcake with their famous cake donut with cream cheese icing and fresh cut strawberries. The donut is so indulgent and was served warm with the most delectable flavor combinations. Tried the Son of a Peach with cream cheese icing, spiced peach filling, cake mix topping, cinnamon and sugar with honey butter. This one was a bit too overindulgent and sweet for my liking but was definitely worth a try. Portions are huge and can be shared as the donut is not as good warmed over. If you're in the mood for dessert and not think about calorie count, then this is the place.
