My boyfriend and I adopted a senior pup recently and I decided that he needed a bath to start his new life on the right paw. I called Paw House at 9:40am on Tuesday to see if there was any same day appointments and they said to come in at 10am, which was purrfect. The place is spotless and the woman at the front desk was friendly. The prices are very clearly stated on the walls and the receptionist also let me know that if they found any fleas, it would be an extra $7. I liked that she was upfront to me about that. $30 for a full bath package for a 15lb is very reasonable. There was a miscommunication, where I thought them telling me to come in at 10am meant they could have him bathed at that time so I assumed he would be out within an hour. After checking him in, she said they would call within 2 hours. I was a little surprised by this because I expected to pick him up within an hour - my pup is only a 15lb chihuahua mix. I voiced my surprise and asked if he could be done within an hour since I am not a local (pup lives with my bf in Hawaiian Gardens; I live in Long Beach) and they agreed to it, which I really appreciated. Next time, I'll make sure to ask how long it would take before bringing him in. I picked up my Chewie an hour later, with him all soft, smelling like heaven, and he definitely had a pep to his step. I would definitely use this place again when my old man starts getting super stinky! P.S: They only take cash! read more

I have a 17 year old Jack Russell mix and he HATES getting his nails trimmed. I give him vitamins that make his nails super thick so I'm not able to cut them myself. I've taken him to so many different places over the years trying to find someone who can cut them short enough where I don't have to come back in two weeks. I took him to Petco in Cypress and the guy did such an awful job, my dog was bleeding everywhere and we were both traumatized. Needless to say the nail trim has become a stressful experience for us both. I decided to try this place because they told me I could walk right in and not have to wait or leave him in a cage for hours. I'm so glad I came here. They took my dog right away and were so patient with him. He struggles, he cries, he growls, he tries to bite the clippers, he's a legitimate nightmare. The ladies are so kind to him and try to be careful because he is an old man with sore joints. Honestly I have so much respect for them for staying patient and never getting aggressive with him. If you have an older dog and nail trimming is an awful experience for you I would highly recommend these ladies. read more

I took my basset hound here yesterday around 4:00 pm and they were done at 5:10 pm. I asked for a shampoo and brushing. And that is what I got plus amazing service. My basset (Daphne) thought she was going to the vet, so as i was handing her over she plopped her 53 lb butt firm on the ground. They laughed, I laughed, but in the end they said she did well. Which I was afraid she would bite, and no one likes that! The main reason for me taking Daphne to Paw House, is she is a workout in its self and they have the tools to make her bath experience better than I could. I received Daphne smelling good and with a bandanna to make her spiffy. Price is reasonable. I will be bring her back and maybe my other two dogs too! read more

Been taking 3 dogs here for years! Family uses the same groomers, they never come home with fleas or cuts. Always thoroughly cleaned and you can tell they really pay attention to the details when it comes to trimming and fur styling. They are always very courteous and on time, and remember my dogs by their names. My go to groomers! They give your girl dogs hair bows and boy dogs awesome patterned bandanas at no extra cost! Love this place! It's been almost 2 years since I've been coming here and they're always consistent with the customer service and the great job they do on my girls. I always call ahead and make an appointment because I know they also take walk-ins.. I've found that Tuesdays are the best days at least for me to bring in the dogs because they don't seem as busy on Tues. The owner complimented them saying how nice they were, which surprised me because I was worried all morning that they'd be clawing and screaming at her. Both cats were shaved evenly and no nicks which is great. They also came home with little bandanas tied around their necks making them extra cute. Prices were comparable to other places I've gone. Been coming here for the past year and my family absolutly loves this place. Thought id share my experience because i wouldnt take my two small dogs elsewhere. The women who work there are so friendly and the price is reasonable. We take our dogs to get groomed, get hair cuts and get cleaned pretty much. Its nice to know that the workers care alot about the dogs they groom. Def recommend if your pets need some grooming. Make an appt in advance and know you will drop your pet in good hands. read more

In and out no fuss. Called the day before to make an apt. Very simple. What I loved most is my dog was in and out within a few hours. I was shocked because the usual place I go to takes usually 1/2 a day. My dog was happy when I got him and they did a decent job. I'd have to go back to try again tho because he was pretty matted when I brought him the 1st time so he wasn't as white as I usually like to see him (white poodle). The price was reasonable and fair. It's really loud upon entering as they have kennels in the front so you have to talk over loud barking dogs. People were friendly. Which they allows tip on card but I guess only cash ? My shitsu dog has been going here for years. They treat him really well and groom him up real nice. If they find out that your pet has flees then theyll call you to confirm if you want them removed. Its best to make an appointment before you go incase they are backed up and cant accept your pet. They give a scarf for your pet for free! Parking is easy right in the front since people just come by to drop off or pick up. The prices are marked up in front when you enter. And theres a safety fence outside the entrance incase your pet gets loose. read more

Had to update my review ! First few times I brought my Lucy here , I was impressed . They accommodated me after I spoke to them about how Lucy suffered from seizures and she tended to get them when she was stressed out . Lucy gets very bad separation anxiety and is terrified of the cage that blow dries . The owner knew this & worked greatly with me the first 2 times . The third time she told me she was going to charge me more to dry Lucy or that I was going to have to do it myself ? Umm .... isn't that what grooming package consist of ? & if I blow dry my own dog , are you going to charge me less ? I don't think so . Therefore , I don't see why I was going to be charged more if they were to blow dry my dog . I'll happily take Lucy elsewhere . read more

We've been taking our dogs here for 2 years but it's been getting worse and worse each time. The last two times we've taken them we get calls that the dogs have fleas. Dogs that have no fleas at home magically get fleas only when at the groomer. Hmm. We have cocker spaniels and always get "cocker cuts". We got them back very closely shaved today, no cocker cut. The owner said our older dog was aggressive, something we've never been told by any other groomer, and he immediately ran to hide under the bed when we got home. I have no idea what that woman did to my dog but he is terrified. On top of their terrible treatment of or dogs, the owner overcharged my husband by $20 (over the amount of the upcharges for their "fleas" and "aggression") and held our dogs ransom until he paid. We will be looking for a new groomer and will never be back here. read more

They can get a little busy on Saturday and they dont take appointments, so I recommend you get there at 9am in order to avoid the rush. I have been a customer of Paw House for over 2 years, and they have always done a great job with my three dogs (shih tzu, maltipoo, and maltese/shih tzu mix). I've been taking my dog here for about a year now (They know my dog VERY well!). They are a great group of groomers. I've had no issues with them until the last grooming visit. Once I was home, I noticed my dog had been nicked in SEVERAL places, including his groin area. I had never had a problem with this before. I was not told about the cuts at all, which I was a little upset with. I stil trust them though, they do a great job grooming. I rarely make an appointment, they are great about last minute things. But I will be letting them know to be more careful! These things happen. Plus, it's a grooming school, so the students may be working on the dogs and cats. It's bound to happen! read more

My shih tzu needed a cut and my regular groomer wasn't open so I stopped by and gave it a try. When I walked in, I noticed a dog in the back whining loudly as she was getting groomed. Although I was a little worried I ignored it, signed a waiver, left my dog, and waited for the call that she was ready. Except for the way she styled the tail, overall the cut was fine and the price was a little better than my other groomer. What lead me to giving this 1 star review was not the cut but the fleas she got after coming here. When I left her she had no fleas but when she got back she did. They were very accommodating and squeezed my dog in at the last minute since petsmart was booked. The dog came back happy and cleaner than he's ever been after the groomer. He smells like baby powder and they trimmed around his genitals, trimmed his nails, and put a little bandana around his neck even though we only charged for a wash. I think we found a new groomer!
