Dr. Deborah Smith is an amazing veterinarian and person that I would trust more than any other…read more Most doctors try to scam you out of money but Dr. Smith will give you a very realistic expectation of what you should expect from the diagnosis, treatment, and cost of care that your pet needs. She even refers out if she does not think that she is a good fit for your pet(s) (because of the limited equipment she can take with her to your home or because she knows other vets who specialize in a specific treatment such as extensive dental procedures), which is very honest of her because she could just take your money and waste your time but she DOESN'T! She is extremely knowledgable and keeps up with current medicinal practices in both conventional and holistic medicine. She is excellent with acupuncture, Chinese Herbs, Class IV Laser therapy, examinations, dietary care, senior care, puppy care, everything! She is responsive in her correspondence and even sends you your pets records after your exam so that you have them at your convenience in case you need to go to another vet. She has helped me and my pets tremendously and I believe so much in her abilities as a veterinarian. I do not know what I would do without her! I can't believe these negative reviews for a second! They sound like two very bitter counterparts who have intentionally come to attack her many, many years later at a completely different practice. I was a local so I know a fair amount of the clients that Dr. Smith has served and have never heard anything but gratefulness for the pets she has helped to care for and love. What sets Dr. Smith apart is that she is attentive to every owner and every pet in more detail than your own primary care doctor would spend on your human health care!

He received necessary procedures including blood transfusion to stabilize his condition. I did not want to leave him at ER for more tests and observations because I have never had any pets survived ER stays. We did receive blood transfusion and medications which seemed to be working and were told that he needed medical attention in order to survive. Since his regular vet was helpless, I decided to look into alternatives. I found this place on Yelp with raving reviews, and like most pet owners in desperate situations, I decided to give it a try. I first spoke with I believe her name was Lyric. She was very charming and well spoken, and made an appointment immediately. I also recieved a call from Yael after I emailed over my cat's medical records and was told that she thinks my cat simply had urinary track infection and she can help. During our visit, Yael and Lyric worked together and performed a basic exam, then I was told that we need a biofeedback scan which will tell us exactly what's going on. This " procedure " consist of sticking two wet pads somewhere on the underside of my cat, and the wires connected the wet pads to a laptop which supposedly would feed all the information to a program. I thought that seemed overly simple, but I was in a state of panic, I chose to believe it's some advanced science that I didn't understand. I was told that they will rush the result but it will be later that evening or next day. Then Yael proceeded to prescribe a list of remedies which is mostly supplements including a jar of homemade yogurt. The visit, including all the remedies I was told were necessary, came to just under $700. They also only accept cash or Zelle payments, no credit cards. The instruction I was given was to stop the medicationd from ER immediately and only take what was prescribed by Yael, and I did. At home, shortly after I gave my cat what Yael prescribed, he started vomiting violently and was visibly weaker. I call and told Yael what was happening and was met with loud, non-stop yelling, telling me that her remedies were right and I must follow her instructions. The biofeedback report showed pages of colorful breakdown and included readings of "pepsine secretion coefficient" and "small intestine peristalsis function" values, plus "protien metabolism value", "liver fat content value", plus kidney, lung function analysis, even blood circulation system analysis, etc. This program of theirs can read all these from two wet pad sticked to the skin of my cat? I ultimately decided to consult with a licensed vet, and luckily I found Dr. Sharp from a referral, and my cat's conditions improved without complications within days at a quarter of the cost. He is healthy and happy today. As pet parents, we are vulnerable to be taken advantage of when our pets become critically ill. I hope my experience can be helpful to anyone in similar situation and can make proper decisions for both your pets and you.

She not only welcomed us in with open arms, but she made sure that we and my dog, Mojo, were comfortable before she began. She was calm, caring, and genuine throughout the entire appointment and really explained all our options and what she was doing thoroughly. She started with gently feeling his body and assessing it, quickly noticing that his spine was probably causing him some pain. We moved onto acupuncture, where she explained all the points that she was doing and how it would benefit him. She also had some treats readily available to distract him as the needles were going in! After about 7-9 minutes, you can visibly see Mojo just... relax. Completely calm. Not squirming or fidgeting. It was honestly like magic. She was able to do cold laser therapy while the needles were in and then she whipped out KT tape.. Which I didn't even know you could do on animals! As she taped his spine, she gave us instructions on how to help him up the stairs and to lower his pain in his hind legs. She also suggested that we start cooking his meals as well with turkey and some sweet potato. After she taped him up, we carried him out to the car where he immediately took a little nap. While we were in the car, she came out with a lot of medicine for him to take for his nausea, alongside some inflammatory medicine and Chinese herbs. Within a few hours of taking the Cerenia that she gave us, he was able to keep food down (which hadn't happened for about 4 days before this, he was throwing up everything he ate). He was able to walk and move around on his own but it was visibly painful for him to do so. He was unable to jump and he refused to play or go for walks. All he wanted to do was sleep. Going potty even seemed like a chore for him because walking was painful. My boy left his first visit with Dr. Kim being able to walk without pain. He jumped into my small SUV before I could bend down to pick him up following his second visit with her. The third visit was a turning point because he jumped off of her treatment table for the 1st time and acted like he had never been injured. Dr. Kim told us to rest him in his crate after this particular appointment because he felt so good after his 1st 2 appointments that he did too much and ended up in pain again. When we let him out of his crate after his rest period, he started playing, running, jumping and acting like his normal rambunctious self. He never slipped back into pain again but he saw Dr. Kim a couple more times just for good measure because we were moving out of state. Dr. Kim is THE BEST canine chiropractor that I've ever known. She's extremely gentle and her treatments are effective and efficient. I love that her previous background in therapeutic bodywork carried over into her practice because my boy got way more than just a chiropractic adjustment. Because of the cost, I needed some time before bringing my second cat in. During that time my second cat had a medical emergency -- a urinary blockage. I rushed him to the emergency vet, where the bill escalated quickly since everything was out of pocket. The emergency vet suggested that to save money, they could give me my cat's urine sample so my regular vet could run the lab tests instead of running them at the emergency hospital. I immediately called Holistika Vet because they were the only veterinarian I had an established relationship with. I was extremely distressed and crying because the emergency vet had told me there was a 50% chance my cat might not survive and that follow-up with my regular vet would be important. The receptionist told me it was their policy that they could not see my second cat because he had never been examined there before. I explained that I understood the policy but asked if they could at least run the urine tests (which I would pay for) to help us understand what caused the blockage. Unfortunately, I was told they could not do that either and that the tests would have to be done at the emergency hospital. The conversation felt very cold and unsympathetic during a moment that was extremely frightening for me as a pet owner. Fast forward to February 2026 -- I scheduled an appointment for both of my cats. A few days before the appointment I received an email canceling it, stating they would no longer see my pets because I had given attitude to the receptionist during the emergency call months earlier. I went in person to speak with management to explain the situation and my perspective. I was told they had no record of the conversation but were still refusing future care. For me, the most disappointing part of this experience was the lack of compassion during a very serious emergency and the refusal to even run a test that could have helped guide my cat's care. Thankfully, I have since found another holistic veterinarian in Glendale, California who has been incredibly supportive.
