Cute little spot you will miss just driving by... the love for Ohio shows inside, small dining area but fit our party of 13 and had a buffet they were setting up as we were leaving. The pizza was delicious along with the garlic cheese pizza. Order at the counter when you are ready, bottomless dine-in fountain drink. It is a must try in Delaware if ur tired of the same ol' pizza. The chicken Alfredo with tomato was great and the taco was delicious to just name a few. I didn't try the fries but my nephew did and they looked good. Pass on the Mac n chz bites. And they were incredibly quick with our big order. Price is also reasonable and a special everyday. read more

Let me start by saying this is not about the quality of food or anything else. We have been customers of Payne's since moving here in 2019. We have enjoyed the food. They do a marketing text where I won a free cheese pizza. I came in tonight with intents of ordering an additional pizza and upgrading my free cheese pizza understanding I would have to pay for additional toppings. Upon arrival, I was informed I could get nothing else other than a cheese pizza. I am not able to upgrade it at all. What a way to turn your marketing program into an anti marketing campaign. What you have done is lost a customer. Sorry Payne's, you should allow people to upgrade. read more

The pizza was nasty as in over cooked and a bread stick was wrapped in hair. I guess this company never heard of hair nets. After finding a hair in my meal I put the rest in the trash. I don't recommend this place unless you like hair in your food. read more

I've been a customer for a couple of years and use to love this place, but the last couple months it seems like the quality of the pizza has gone down and the customer service has gone down hill as well. I ordered a pizza online a couple days ago for delivery, initially it estimated 35 minutes for delivery on a Wednesday night. After about 50 minutes and the pizza not being delivered I contacted Payne's to which a lady answered and pretty much told me the pizza is not at the store therefore it's on it was to be delivered. Another 20 minutes pass and no pizza still, I called again, a guy answers gives the same explanation, I tell him I want to cancel the order, he puts me on hold, then the same lady from before gets the phone and tells me it should be on its way with an attitude, I tell her it's fine I don't want it, by this point the pizza will probably be cold by the time I get it, she puts me on hold again and with an attitude, tells me my money will be back on my card, doesn't say sorry for the inconvenience, nothing else and hangs up the phone. The delivery driver delivered the pizza 1.5 hours after the order was placed, he was told the order was cancelled and he took the pizza back with him. read more

By far my favorite go to pizza place in the Delaware or Marion areas. They have great deals and their pizza is delicious. A few of my favorites are the chicken ceasar salad, garlic cheese bread, and breadsticks in addition to their pizzas. The wait time is usually reasonable if picking it up. The only times I have had a long delivery time is in severe weather. Then it is understandable because they are one of the few places delivering and they are busy and busy being safe on the roads. They have a drive thru pick up window making it super easy to pick up your order. read more

Pizza was not good, sauce was horrible and pizza was not fully cooked. Inside was outdated and could use a cleaning. Worst pizza in Delaware, if you want a good pie I would recommend Mohio 1st then Amatos. read more

Out of all the places to get pizza in Delaware, Payne's wouldn't be my first choice, but rather my last. If you order pizza for delivery, I would suggest you turn your oven on, and fix a frozen pizza before you even think of eating Payne's pizza. Most of the time, it is delivered cold, poorly made, and the cheese looks unappetizing​. Save yourself from being in the bathroom all night, and splurge a little at either Amato's or Shorty's. read more

Just got Payne's pizza for the first time last night. It was delicious! it's not like a lot of the new pizza that you see out today (fancy crust, crazy flavors - maybe they have that too) and less than impressive toppings. We tried a classic large pepperoni pizza (we always try a pepperoni pizza when we go to a place for the first time.) This pizza has a more traditional taste - simple, yet delicious crust with light flavorful sauce (a mildly sweet taste), pepperoni that was flavorful but not overpowering or too spicy, and cheese that taste fresh from the farm. The cheese was the best part! This place just became our new 'go-to' pizza place. It doesn't look pretty on the outside, but it's what's on the inside that counts! And what's on the inside is some fantastic pizza. read more

Got wings for the first time. When one orders wings, there are certain assumptions in place (unless the menu tackles them ahead of time): fried and sauced. And I am an ass for assuming. The wings are baked I think. Hard to tell actually. They are not sauced, nor does any sort of sauce accompany them. They are spiced though. But how were they? Very good. Once I bent my mind around what they were, I enjoyed them. Got the "hot" version. Quotation marks because butter is spicier. Good thing I always have hot sauce on me. Would I get them again? Maybe. Got the chicken parm and could barely find the chicken. Chicken sandwich for a buck at McD's has twice as much meat. Drove 5 minutes home and food was luke warm. Had to go eat somewhere else to fill up, which I never do! People going in to the kitchen that I know dont work there. Kids in the kitchen. Won't go back. read more

Pizza buffets are usually not among my favorite places as thet give you cheap crust and toppings to make it cheaper to eat. Not Payne's -- $6 for lunch buffet with drink and the pizza is excellent on a basic thin crust. Not my wife's favorite so we don't order it often but I do like the subs and homemade soups as well. read more

Just had the manager of the delaware location lie to me about his authority and said he couldnt correct my order when he sent my family the wrong pizza after an hour and a half on a monday! An hour and ten minutes later after calling, the delivery driver showed up. Informed me he just started and asked to borrow a pen for me to sign. Me and my guy were looking for a pizza place in Delaware and we stumbled across Payne's. It's fairly small, and the boyfriend said it had changed owners several times. There were alot of cars in the parking lot but only 2 diners inside. It seems that they may have alot of staff so they must be doing pretty good business. Anyhow, we order Annie's pizza (I don't remember the name) but it was great. Covered in several types of meat and it came out quickly. Payne's had always been sorted out for me on yelp as it is listed as $$$$. I happened to catch it on tonight's search for fast pasta, and it was great (and very affordable)! I ordered spaghetti and breadsticks. The service was very friendly, and the food was ready quickly and it packaged together well for me to take home. Very tasty, but I personally will order with light sauce next time. Great for takeout, but the dining room definitely could use a makeover and the parking lot could use more lighting. In all, paid less than $10 and took home a whole lotta yummy food, which makes me happy. read more
