I made a reservation on Open Table around 10am on a Friday, and was easily able to make a reservation for 2 people at 7pm. The main driver for us trying this place was because I was eligible for a $20 Open Table gift card, and there were limited restaurant options to choose from, so I ultimately chose Pazzo. The (free) parking garage is in fact convenient and the restaurant is right next to it. Upon entering, we were greeted by the hostess, and were promptly seated. As we arrived at our table, I asked if there was a table available on the terrace, to which the woman replied no. However, we were seated with a view of the outside terrace, and I stared at an empty 4-top table for at least 20 minutes. So that was a little irritating. The restaurant is quite large, and it was pretty noisy. The kitchen is exposed to the seating area, which is nice. Due to the size, there are a LOT of staff (servers, bus boys, runners, etc.) running around constantly. We also had what I'd assume is the manager walking around greeting the tables; he was sweet. He was actually the first to greet our table with a bottle of tap water and immediately poured us glasses. This was nice, however, we weren't asked what type of water we wanted. We do actually usually drink sparkling water when we're out on a date night, so he missed an opportunity there. Our waitress greeted us shortly after to ask for our drink order, but we weren't yet ready. It took her a little bit to come back, but when she did, I asked about a bottle of red blend on the menu, but she didn't have any knowledge of the wine list, so she asked the bartender. After returning with some additional information, we placed our full order. We also promptly received a bread basket with a small dish of butter and a separate dish with EVOO and a few olives; the EVOO was tasty and the bread was fresh and warm. We started with the limoncello wings. They were good; they were grilled and tossed with the lemon sauce, so they weren't crispy, but they were tasty. There were slices of sautéed garlic on top, which complimented the wings nicely. They didn't blow us away though; I actually salted them a bit. My husband enjoyed dipping the bread in the sauce better than the wings themselves. My husband had the papperdelle bolognese. It was served with a dollop of mascarpone cheese, which he stirred into the pasta to thicken it up. It was OK - there was some flavor there, but it was a bit bland. We've found that bolognese is either a hit or miss at most Italian restaurants; it seems to be difficult to get right. I had the Chicken Piccata. It was pretty tasty; although I typically prefer to enjoy this dish over angel hair pasta, I enjoyed the potato croquette it came with, as well as the sautéed spinach. We each took half of our dish home and saved room for dessert. We enjoyed the Cheesecake - it was delicious and came with a raspberry sauce drizzled over top. I used the restroom before we left, and one of the stalls was out of toilet paper, so I told the hostesses. There were 3 of them at the stand, which would lead me to believe that they have enough of them on staff to keep on top of those things. When I entered the stall, the floor (white tile) was black with footprints and dirt; very confusing. It wasn't raining that day or evening, so I'm not sure how it got that dirty, but it was a little off-putting. All in all, I'm not in a hurry to return. The food was just really OK, and the place was a bit too big and loud for me. The service was nice enough to motivate me to give it another try someday. read more

Saturday night. Date night. 3 couples, reservation for 8:30pm. Sat quickly, ordered a few bottles of wine to start. Our server was fantastic. Attentive and thorough. Ordered the burrata and an order of the mussels for appetizers. Mussels you can order with red or white sauce, we chose red. Mussels were good, nice portion size. Now the game changer was the burrata. Man was that good. However, it came on one slice of prosciutto, a long thin slice but one slice nonetheless. Strawberries and sliced pears on the plate was a nice touch. Kind of weird that it was an app and had one slice of prosciutto, usually you expect an app to have the ability for a few people to snack on. We managed because hello- prosciutto and burrata. We ordered an array of entrees, from filet, to branzino to a gluten free pizza. I order branzino at almost every opportunity and it was freaking delicious. Very happy with my choice! Overall this was a very enjoyable meal, and a great time with friends. Parking garage next door makes parking super easy that can sometimes be a challenge in Red Bank. read more

Everything here was good, and the service was excellent. The problem is that the Tristate area is so full of excellent Italian restaurants, it is hard for one of them to stand out, so I wouldn't go out of my way to go back, knowing that I could get the same fine dining experience almost anywhere else. That said, the ambiance was pleasant, and very elegant, and it definitely felt like the staff cared about their work. All the food was good, and well prepared, so if you're a big fan of Italian food and are in the area, you should definitely stop by. If they have the watermelon, mozzarella, and pesto salad, order it. If you eat nothing else, get this salad. It was an incredible explosion of umami, and made the whole trip worthwhile. If i could give any feedback to the owners, it would be to try doing more adventurous stuff like the watermelon salad. That said, if you are the kind of person who enjoys a very nice sit down dining experience without too many frills, you may love this restaurant, and you should give it a go. read more

One of my favorite restaurants in Red Bank. I especially love their happy hour in the bar area. Lots of great appetizers for only $7. I really like the clams oregano and the eggplant with fresh mozzarella. Both are delicious. I've also eaten dinner here a few times as well. Love the thin crust pizza and the shrimp with vodka sauce is also very good. Cooked al dente and the sauce is very flavorful. I've dined here over a dozen times over the years and the food has always been pretty consistent. read more

Used to be great, now it's a zero. Food delivery was delaed over an hour for a simple pizza and salad and 2 pasta dishes on a Monday night. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambience was busy and noisy, but they had more than ample staff to handle any issues.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our server (Carla) was good and attempted to get kitchen to respond 3 times to no avail to our late food. Our Floor Manager (Haley) was just a tool of the owner. When server attempted to get her to address our problem, Haley serviced 3 other stations and then stood around for 5 minutes before coming to our table. No action on her part other than to say they'd do better next time. Those inactions were based on the direction of the owner who apparently felt having ours and apparently other tables wait over an hour for food is OK so long as he/she gets paid. This despite we could see other tables and bar patrons who came in after us getting the same food delivered to them while we waited. With so many other good Italian restaurants in our area, this isn't where you should go. read more

This place is a sure thing in Red Bank...the free parking garage is a plus for me too...my wife and I had the burrata mozzarella and the stuffed artichoke appetizers...yum! My main course was the pappardelle bolognese...delicious! The drinks were a nice size and very good...we also ordered dessert and coffee...chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream...very good...even though they were very crowded (Saturday night), the service was excellent...I highly recommend Pazzo! Other items to note: 1) Parking is limited but you can pay parking garage on site (note restaurant stopped validating parking stubs to cut costs). 2) Tried to substitute a vegetable due to allergy - waitress stated "we have a strict policy - no menu substitutions" - she apologized and stated management will make no exceptions. Went here for lunch and was expecting a way better food experience than I had. This was recommended by my friend even though I had reservations about going here. The place is nice however the food was not. My friend ordered the pizza Fichi e Formaggio and I ordered the Pappardelle Bolognese. My pasta dish was okay but not worthy of a review. However my friends pizza was odd tasting not sure if it was solely the crust being weird and unflattering in taste but I couldn't place what was off. But I was very disappointed. Didn't say anything to the server because we were having a nice time aside from the food but I am disappointed because of all the reviews. My bf and I, who rarely go out, chose Pazzo for our date night last night. Ambiance and drinks put us on a good start to the night. We got the stuffed artichoke to start, and it was so bland. There really was nothing to it. Luckily our attentive server came over right away and asked how we were doing, then immediately asked if we didn't like the appetizer, almost like he knew we were gonna say we didn't like it. He was nice enough to take it off the check. For entrees, my bf got the bolognese and I got the chicken saltimbocca. My chicken was bland, coated in cheese, unappealing, and the spinach and mashed potatoes had zero flavor. His pasta was good, except for the fact it was topped with a big scoop of butter instead of cheese. We aren't the kind of people to make a fuss so we just boxed the food up so we were able to vamp it up at home. Our server was very understanding, and again seemed like he knew we didn't really enjoy the food. Update: To the manager comment, butter and mascarpone have very different tastes. This was our first experience at Pazzo and we would gladly go back. We were a party of four and got seated right away for our reservation. The atmosphere is pleasant and comfortable. Service was fast and our waitress was very friendly and accommodating. The food was good. For appetizers we got the calamari and the limoncello wings. Both were good. I got the fig pizza which was yummy but turned out to be an arugula salad (seriously, arugula overload). The bf had the brazino, and the other two meals were the halibut and the tuna with truffle risotto. The tuna was the best meal at the table but everything else was great, too. Awesome drink and dessert selection as well! They had a cool promotion for the Kentucky Derby where they gave out a free raffle ticket with a horse number and the winners would get $50 gift cards for a next visit. read more

The grilled chicken I had added to my salad was plentiful but so dry I am kicking myself for not sending it back. The pasta had that "I spent a long time under the heating lamp waiting while they overcooked the chicken" look and I think the potions have shrunk. The olives and oil to dip the bread in never came. The pizza was okay but somehow not what I thought I remembered. None of the wait staff was overly friendly or efficient just trained to ask if you wanted other items that would work up a higher bill. My girlfriend and I decided to celebrate our 2 year anniversary at Pazzo tonight. Only real good thing i have to say is they did a great job with keeping everything safe and clean. But as far as the food.. we started with the fried calamari.. a bit chewy. Not worth the 16$. I had the chicken francese and my girlfriend had the same. I got asparagus and penne and she got mashed potatoes and broccoli. The asparagus tasted frozen, the mashed potatoes were dry and the broccoli you can taste the water it was steamed in. Not really worth the effort. On the plus side, the service was attentive without being intrusive. It all goes downhill from there. We girlfriend and I were seated on the enclosed patio. Enclosed should be in quotes. Not enclosed enough to keep the rain out. There were several leaks around the patio and we did see some customers getting wet. The furniture itself is a bit odd. The seats are very comfortable, but much to low for the table. I'm average size, but felt a phone book to sit on would have been helpful. On to the food. I'll describe each dish, but before I do let me point out that nothing was hot or cold. The cooked food was merely warm, and the cold food was barely cool. We split a meatball appetizer. This could have been a good dish. A bit more seasoning would have helped. And the tomato sauce was a bit industrial. But what killed it was it was just warm. Normally I would have sent it back but we had a time constraint. I then had a wedge salad. I like that very cold. It wasn't. The accompanying blue cheese dressing had very little flavor. The one piece of actual cheese tasted fine. The dressing itself tasted like mayo and sour cream with nothing else. The bacon pieces were seconds away from burnt. Nothing egregious, but not worth the $10. My entree was Chilean Sea Bass in a tomato broth with clams and mussels. Again, lukewarm. The fish and the shellfish were cooked perfectly, but the broth was bland. Just a bit of seasoning would have made a huge difference. My girlfriend had the Caesar Salad and the Filet. Her opinion was that the food was ok but nothing special. The temperature issue worked in her favor as she hates hot food and lets things cool before she eats them. ( as an aside, this character flaw needs to be addressed before we move on from the girlfriend phase). Dessert was tartufo. A good amount to split. And very cold. Ice cream headache cold. So the big question is - would I go back? It wouldn't be my first choice, but I will say the pizzas looked good. So maybe it gets another try, but no time soon. We used to go to Pazzo all the time (at least 3-4 years ago now), but had a TERRIBLE experience where we went for an early dinner with 2 young kids and the restaurant was relatively empty but it took well over an hour for the food, which (up until then) had been pretty good but it was terrible and (it goes without saying) a nightmare with little kids. I figured enough time had passed to give them another shot and just ordered penne vodka and an order of meatballs on DoorDash at 6:30 pm and it is now 7:30 and the order is still not ready.... On March 27th, 3 of my friends and I went to Pazzo for a quick dinner. We were on our way to a comedy show at the Count Basie theatre. I will spare you the entire story, and break it down for you. The ambiance and décor of the restaurant are very nice. That was the only thing that was. The service was terrible. We had to flag the waitress down whenever we wanted anything. The food was horrible. We had the scallops (overcooked) and the charcuterie board (seemed to had been sitting our for a long time) for appetizers. We had the Branzino and chicken parm as dinners. Both were bland and flavorless. Luckily the sauce was ok, so we could dip the bread. Our waitress never checked back on us to see if our meals were to our liking. Not one of us enjoyed our meal, but we were in a rush to get to our show. We paid our bill and left a GIFT as a tip. Like I said the service was horrible. The waitress chased us out to the parking lot to complain about the tip! This was my third time at this restaurant, and each time has been worse than the one before. We have been coming to Pazzo off and on for years now , its either hit or miss. It is close by and convenient, and at times, they do well. Big miss this last time about a week ago with 2 friends of ours. Dinner took way too long as surrounding high tops, that sat after us received their food and drinks before us. Salad finally served , wrong salad. Trying to get the waiter,,,,,,,,, My White clams and pasta was served with what seemed to be just water dumped in as sauce. Absolutely no flavor. I have to think they had no sauce and last minute tried to make do. Server took it the meal off the bill , but with a wait of almost an hour , wrong salad and one dinner sent back,,, I would think a complimentary round of drinks or dessert would have been in order. My husband and I came here for our anniversary. It was our first restaurant experience dining out since Covid quarantine started in 2020. We were a bit nervous, but the tables were spaced out, all staff was wearing masks, and there was a lot of outdoor space as well as ventilation indoors. We were a bit early for our reservation but they sat us right away anyway. The food came out super fast and was delicious! The cocktails were amazing. I had the blood orange mule (highly recommend) and my husband had the apple cider old fashioned which he also really enjoyed. Beef carpaccio special was delicious, as was our pizza which had potato crisps on top! Unique and enjoyable. For dessert we tried the affogato which was to die for, as well as the tiramisu which was also good - not too sweet - which was ideal for us. Service was speedy, respectful, helpful, and safe. Having driven passed this restaurant for years, we always said one day we have to eat here. Friends of ours have told us it was good. We went on Saturday and there are no special promotions on Saturday. Nice night and we were seated in the covered outside area. We were given a tasty crusty bread with a bowl of olives and olive oil. The salads were very good as well as the mussels appetizer. I chose the veal chop Milanese. The chop was pounded a fried, served on the bone and topped with an arugula salad with shaved Parmesan cheese. A Balsamic reduction was the perfect drizzle. Our dining partners had a striped bass over risotto and a veal piccata. Everyone was happy with the dish. Tiramisu was a very light tasty way to end dinner. Though I thought that parking in the garage was free, we saw a sign that showed $1 an hour. We found parking on the street for free. Food is still great but odd to see what appeared to be a manager eating fast food and blatantly drinking a martini next to our cocktail table at the bar while on her phone. Had a problem with them charging 11.00 extra and we brought it to their attention and the manager was beyond Annoyed and never came over to say I'm sorry or nothing he was very annoyed. The three of us decided to try Pazzo again since we haven't been there in 5 years. I ordered branzino it was awful awful. My salad wasn't good either. My friends had chicken Parma gian it was terrible they left it. The baked clams weren't good as well. We can't complain about the service it was good. The ambiance is fine.
