The staff was awesome, very kind walking us through the menu as it was our first time here. Food was really tasty! The ONLY thing I wish was different is that the rice in my poke bowl was so hot, it warmed up the fish a bit. I like my poke cold and refreshing. They have different marinades for their fish, I tried 2 and they were both very good! The parking lot was small and I think we got pretty lucky finding a spot so easily.

The poke was loaded with toppings, the fish tasted fresh, and the sauces were really good. The portions were generous too -- definitely enough to fill you up. Everything was put together perfectly, and I'll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!
Came an hour before closing and was pleasantly surprised that they still had all of their fish options available. It was my first time here and the cashier was really nice and explained that their combo poke plate is more Hawaiian style with emphasis on the fish flavors whereas the poke bowls had more toppings. I opted for the combo plate with shoyu salmon and shoyu tuna which was $18.50 before tax and tip. The fish was really fresh and not overly saucy, which is great. It also came with Mac salad. The rice was a bit hard for my liking. They also gave me packets of soy sauce and sriracha. I believe you can choose between white and brown rice but they didn't ask me for customization. There is lot parking outside and underground, and they validate it for you which is nice.
Hands down the best poke in PB, and honestly one of the best in San Diego! The fish is always super fresh and high quality, and you can really taste the difference. The staff is also amazing!!!! Always friendly, welcoming, and providing great service. Definitely the best poke spot in PB. Highly recommend!

You can have spicy or not spicy along with white rice or brown rice. Hawaiian poke is marinated so be prepared for something sweet and or spicy. We ordered the Classic which was a little sweet for me. Otherwise it was a great lunch!

We went with 50/50 (shoyu and spicy aioli ahi) because I wanted to try more of tuna.. AND OH BOY, I loved the marinades and freshness from the fish! It was not fishy at all. The toppings - seaweed salad, wonton chips, cucumber and kani help balance the fish with rice. Lastly, we want to give a big shoutout to the charismatic chef (also one of the owners)! He chatted with us and let us sample their YUMMY salmon. Super fresh and tasty! I love salmon and it was comparable to the tuna. We felt the ohana vibes during our visit!! we were so impressed & left happy. The only wish is to come back ASAP. Amazing small business, and I hope they continue to thrive
True Aloha vibes coming into this shop! The poke bowls are without a doubt fresh. The fish are cut in the morning. Tons of flavor and ton of love put into these bowls. It's not Hawaiian deli style where you point and pick, you order at the register, but the staff is super friendly and helpful with recommendations. The place itself has a good amount of seating and has a nice casual atmosphere. If you don't wanna eat there, just walk down to the beach!
One of the poke places that I've been wanting to hit in PB~ finally came and even though the parking was horrible, I have no regrets at all **Ordered: 2 scoops with Wasabi Ahi and Māori flavored Salmon that comes with choice of white/brown rice or salad greens $19 Flavor + the freshness of both fish were 10/10 on point! **Service So sorry I didn't get his name but cashier was AMAZING the chill, kind, helpful, Hawaiian-vibe kind of guy and was extremely patient as me and my friends were very indecisive **Vibe Local and family friendly~ seems like there were many locals and returning customers that the cashier had recognized :)) **Overall Again, the only issue is that parking is crap as usual for PB. The bowls and portion are a bit on the smaller side but inflation~ if I'm ever back in PB, I would definitely come back for a visit and do highly recommend others to come and take a whirl at it!
got the nami bowl with classic shoyu and cali salmon with ginger. the salmon tasted fresh, and i liked the variety of textures from the seaweed salad, crab salad, cucumbers, wontons, and krispy onions. every bite had a good balance of flavor and crunch, making it a satisfying poke bowl!!! our waiter was super nice and patient, taking the time to explain the different types of fish. he even brought out a side of sauce since he wasn't sure if i'd enjoy the cali salmon - v thoughtful!
taste was pretty good but for the price it was not really worth it. pretty small portion and very limited toppings (i like my poke w lots of toppings). i mean it was filling enough for me still but you can definitely find places with more bang for your buck. the fish i got also had a little too much sauce but it was really soft and fresh and i did really like the rice

I always went here during my four years of college and I recently visited San Diego again and I needed to come here before I left. I met Johnny the owner for the first time and he was so sweet and welcoming. He gave me and my friend the cucumber salad and the mango sticky rice for free it as a way to show appreciation for supporting the business!! This is a must try in San Diego diego it is the best poke I have ever had and I've been to Hawaii multiple times!!! I got the poke plate with the classic shoyu ahi and the Maori kid Salmon. read more

A ton of poke shops in the Pacific Beach area, with this one being pretty popular. Was in the area for a conference and saw a lot of good reviews, so decided to stop by with my friends. PB Poke House is a small poke place with validated parking right by the beach. It can get pretty busy, especially on the weekends. We missed the crazy lunch rush and ordered without waiting, although it took awhile before our food was ready since we ordered hot food. This isn't like the poke places in LA where you build your own bowl. They have premade bowls where the fish are pre-marinated. All bowls come with seaweed salad, krab salad, white and green onion, and furikake. You can add unlimited free and for-a-cost toppings. I got the aloha bowl with half white rice and half salad - Atlantic Salmon in sweet shoyu glaze. I felt pressed to order when I wasn't ready - otherwise I would have gotten the Nami. I think the bowl itself was OK. The hot and cold ingredients mixed together was a little strange - the salmon with the marinade wasn't anything special. It was pretty filling but the price was definitely on the higher side. The chicken chicken karaage plate had two scoops of rice, one scoop of macaroni salad, and the protein itself. My friend ordered the chicken shoyu plate which looked nicely made, good color - this chicken didn't really resemble karaage. It was pretty much chicken pieces in breading and then tossed in the air fryer. The flavor was okay but not what we expected karaage to be. I think this poke place is OK. Probably gets a ton of foot traffic because of location, but food was just decent for me. read more
I visited PB Poke House on an early Sunday evening with a friend. I heard such great reviews for this poke spot, so I was eager to try it for myself. I got a half greens-half brown rice bowl with their shoyu ahi & spicy garlic ahi. I appreciate that they include a variety of complimentary toppings as well--I got crab meat, seaweed salad, cucumber, serrano peppers, & shredded carrots. I also love how close their store is to the beach because my friend & I were able to walk over to enjoy our bowls at the beach after ordering. Would visit again! read more

Stopped by here because our go to "It's Raw" was closed and thought it was okay. The fish doesn't taste very fresh and it's smothered in more sauce than I'd like. The menu is very confusing and there's no place where they list all of their protein options or if you can build your own. It only lists the signature bowls. The service was very friendly, but there's other better poke shops that serve fresh poke that melts in your mouth at the same price as here. read more

service was awesome, small space so recommend to take your food to go. there was about 4 or 5 tables inside tho! i took my order to go and sat at the beach since it was right there. my wife and I both got the regular aloha salmon. a little pricey tho, about $45 for both bowls, water, and ube crinkles. I wish there was more sauce for the poke tho since it seemed a little dry when you reach the rice. other than that it was good! read more

We stopped by here as part of a poke crawl across San Diego, so this was our 4th poke spot of the day. PB Poke House was a bit of a wildcard for us, we hadn't really heard of it so it was our first time there...but definitely won't be our last! Parking was a bit tricky due to it being by the beach/holiday weekend but we were able to get a spot in the main lot for 30 minutes since we were going into the shopping plaza. Service was by far the best we've received all day- the guy at the counter was so friendly and chatted up every customer, and was willing to split our order so we could try two different types of poke. He even offered us free rice which was very thoughtful (even though we were initially trying to limit our rice intake). The fish was incredibly fresh and great quality, and the flavor was incredible and very balanced. Our group's favorite was the miso ginger salmon which was one of the top items we tried all day. read more

customer service here is amazing!! staff was super helpful when we did not know what to order we were able to get two types of marinated salmon in our bowl. AND they let us try their seasonal miso ginger salmon for free (which was really good and i wish i got that instead). we also ordered one spam masubi, but they gave us another for free :) would come again when im in the area!!!! read more

I'm excited to have found this small poke spot in a shopping plaza in PB. Other places I've tried in the area have just been ok. I ordered the 51/50 bowl which is Spicy Garlic/Spicy Ahi, Furikake, White & Green Onion, Seaweed Salad, Krab Salad & Serrano Peppers. It was very tasty, the fish is well marinated. Right off the bat we were greeted by some wonderful service. My boyfriend and I ordered the combo poke plate, a spam musubi, and a pineapple lemonade. The spam musubi alone was so delicious, you can never go wrong with it but the poke combo plate is what blew us away!!! Perfectly portioned for 1-2 people and for a great plus. Not to mention how AMAZING it it! The spicy ahi and spicy garlic were both 10/10. Please do yourself a favor and try this spot out if you're around PB! read more
I love some traditional style poke and I love poke bowls. PB Poke House is like the love child between the two. Its beautifully marinated poke in a bowl with fantastic toppings and a great price. If you want traditional poke that is more Hawaiian style, go to Its Raw. That's fantastic too. However, I really liked PB Poke House. The rice was great, the poke was lovely and the toppings were wonderful. The bowl was a very good sized meal. I would definitely order again if I want a poke bowl. read more

My wife & I just visited the "PB Poke House" Hawaiian Resturant in Pacific Beach recently & what a big surprise ! I ordered the "NAMI", a bowl with half classic shoyu/half cali, ginger, furikake, white & green Onion, seaweed salad & krab salad . It was awesome ! The condiments on top was balanced with white rice & was totally filling. The taste was very, very pleasingly good along with the "Mango Lemonade"! I highly recommend this resturant 'cause of the food quality, menu choices & the friendly staff ! read more

My friend and I tried this for the first time the other day. We both got the 51/50 bowl & shared mac salad. It was about $40 for both bowls and the mac salad. Both weren't anything too special. They were just ok. I probably wouldn't come back here unless I'm nearby and really want poke. The mac salad was kind of flavorless. read more
I ordered online for pickup around 12pm on a Saturday and ordered 3 poke bowls. 2 Maui and 1 Fuego. However there was a mixup with my Fuego bowl and it ended up being a Maui instead. I had also asked for cucumber on mine but there wasn't any. Service was great and staff was friendly. The salmon was really good, again I am not a Tuna fan so it just wasn't for me. There was also a clump of tuna stuck together (I think from being defrosted) so it was kind of mid. Parking was surprisingly okay for an afternoon weekend in PB. I have ordered in person & via DoorDash & via Uber Eats - consistent EVERY TIME! Bowls are beautiful in presentation & super packed & EVERY TIME! I truly appreciate and enjoyed every visit and order I received, as well as every bite! So delicious! The fish is ALWAYS well marinated, first bite goes crazy every time, all flavors hitting, freshness of the ingredients is excellent! In addition to ALL that, CUSTOMER SERVICE IS PHENOMENAL! I was really disappointed because based on other reviews this place seemed like it would have high-quality poke. Unfortunately, the fish didn't seem fresh and didn't taste quite right from the start. The cuts looked uneven, and it honestly felt like it might have been left out too long -- the texture was slippery and kind of gross. My friend described it as "melting fish," and not in a good way. There were also pieces of connective tissue in the fish, which I've never seen in poke before. Maybe I'm a bit of a poke snob (I love 8th & B and know what good quality tuna tastes like), but this definitely wasn't it. I also ordered the matcha, which was unfortunately just as disappointing. It was chalky and had almost no flavor. Honestly, I would love a refund, but I don't think I'll be getting one. read more

This place..there's really not another place in SD that I'll go to for Poke. I could speak on all the incredible interactions I've had and how my orders taste like they're always made with love, but there's so much to say! Today we had the seasonal Bluefin tuna and I've never had such buttery textured Poke. This place is home and if you happen to stop by, Chris and Johnny are the greatest people!! read more
