The carnitas ramen is on It's so good and spicy! I'm def. coming back to eat it again

So this place tasted better than the one in convoy. Like I am not sure if the one in convoy was having a bad day or something. But signature ramen and carnitas ramen experience wasfar superior than what I ate in a different branch. Or it could have been the time frame? Cuz last time I been to this place was about 4 years ago at convoy. Maybe the way they make the soup changed over time? read more

Ok... where to start. My boyfriend got the Tajima ramen, and I mistakenly got the chicken ramen. The noodles tasted plasticky and just not good. Even my boyfriend, who isn't picky, agreed. The broth was okay. The egg, while tasty, looked freakishly fake. Their bok choy was mushy to the point where it looked like it had been sitting on the counter all day before being thrown into our soup. But the worst part was really the chicken. It smelled bad and tasted even worse. I had only a few pieces before my boyfriend tried one and agreed that something was not right. I thought everything was fine, but when I got home, I had a horrible stomach ache. Overall, this place is cheap with their toppings and extremely low quality with their food. I kind of knew not to expect much because it's ramen near PB, but you'd have to pay me to eat here again -- and I still wouldn't. read more

I came by here on a Friday evening and found street parking easily nearby. Service was friendly, efficient, and on point with a nice atmosphere in the dining area. For food, I enjoyed every single item we tried from the garlic edamame- yummy garlic flavor, Katsu chicken bun- good portion, Karaage had tasty crunch, and the ramen was plentiful, delicious, and filling. The matcha refresher was yum with the touch of strawberry added to it and the sake paired well with our meal. When I first saw that a Tajima was opening up in Pacific Beach, I expected the same great taste as I did in other locations. Instead, I found a less than good experience. I would recommend going to a different branch instead of this one. On opening day, I tried their ramen and tasted what seemed to be an industrial flavour in the broth. I went to another branch and did not taste it. I then came back to this one three months later and ordered a different ramen only to taste it again. Also don't come here if it's cold, they leave the side open. The Karaage is good, wings have a good flavour, and the Katsu bun is good, but the mayo mustard sauce is way too overpowering. So, unless you are here for the Tajima Tuesday or their happy hour, I would say to drive elsewhere. read more

TAJIMA RAMEN @ CROWN POINT / PB i've always enjoyed Tajima Ramen on multiple locations, especially college heights, they have one of the best spaces, parking, and staff. I wanted to try Pacific Beach's location this time. Parking wasn't too bad, it's PB, so there isn't a parking lot, just street parking that is available, i'd recommend the neighborhoods. We walked in, and got seated right away. It took about 10 minutes for a worker to actually come to us. One girl started cleaning the tables next to us, and then finally asked if we were ready. There was maybe 2 other parties there, like really? It wasn't busy at all. We've always gotten their Tajima White, but wasn't too hungry so decided to just get their delicious broth and noodles (which we've gotten multiple times at the College Heights Location, always INCREDIBLE), this one came out super salty, and they didn't even have their togarshi spice (college heights has it). Not our favorite. Not to mention, they had two managers that were sitting in a seating that was in the back fully of papers and their laptops out. Pretty unprofessional for a restaurant, workers and managers doing work should be in a closed area or office, not right next to a table full of customers. Overall, the place itself is very renovated, has nice marble tables, and I love the painting of the waves in the place, it's very Pacific Beach vibes! I love Tajima, and will return to their College Heights location. Pacific Beach's staff and service lost two stars for me. read more

PB needed a ramen refresh and I'm so glad Tajima was the one to do it! This location is unique to other Tajima restaurants and out of the fray of Garnet/PB. The restaurant is really nice and pleasing - i love the anime comic themed bathrooms. The service was awesome and everyone working there seemed happy. Margarita was OK. Katsu bun was ok. Big fluffy bun but minimal meat for chicken katsu. I would not order again. Wings were big but lacks flavor. I would not ordered again. Me and my siblings came here for our dinner the other night. The facility is decorated very cute and sets off a relaxed vibe. However, the location is a bit small. I can imagine it gets crowded during the day. Me and my sister ordered a limited time Pokémon themed flight. Our server was very nice, but he forgot to bring us our 2 complimentary Pokémon figurines that come with the flight. When we finally got our food, everything was so good! The chicken ramen was perfect. The bowl is very filling too, I didn't even finish my soup. My daughter got a teriyaki chicken plate and she ate the whole thing! It was a smaller portion, but a good size for anyone. We did come a bit close to closing time. We had hoped we would have enough time to eat within the 45min window. But we took a bit longer than expected with the food taking a while to come out. We did pack up and leave at closing but they were letting other customers finish their meals while they cleaned up. I would return to this spot one day I'm in Cali again. It was very memorable and tasty! Clean and staff friendly. read more

Wowzers!!! What a great experience! First off let me say when you walk in you are greeted with a smile. Immediately you feel welcome and the music isn't so loud that you can't hear yourself speaking with other people. I had the absolute pleasure of having my server be Aria! She is spunky kind and makes sure you are taken care of! She also knows all the menu options and answers any questions you have about anything! She went through the menu completely and timely explaining to me what everything was because I told her it was my first time here. I got two drinks I got the painkiller and I got filtered sake flavor peach and mango. It was delicious highly recommend(sry I forgot to take a pic)! As you see in my pictures the food was presented picture quality! I ordered Tajima red and I added a little of the black garlic oil and a little of the house made red bomb. I can't wait to come back! I need to preface this review with: I ordered takeout, so take this as a takeout review and not a fresh food, dine in service review. The Tajima red ramen is freakin delicious, I love spice and this is a great mild level. It's not overly loaded with extras, and has the perfect balance of broth to noodles. The best part is quite literally this hunk of meat they lay on top. It's the most flavorful, fall apart, delicious piece of pork I've ever had in my mouth. I could eat bowls of it. So dang good. I like the gyoza, they are flavorful and yummy, but I feel like they are on the small side and I don't think I would order again. I ordered around 6:50 pm and got a text that my order was ready around 7:05, so I headed over. When I got there not one person acknowledged me or the people in front of me for TEN minutes, which seemed a bit extreme. It was quite busy, but so many waiters and waitresses walked past us and didn't even look at us standing in the doorway. One even came up, rang something up on the register and walked away without saying anything. The couple in front of me wanted to dine in and there were 3-4 tables available, but again no one acknowledged us. It wasn't horrible, 10 minutes is not that long, just seemed a bit extreme that no one said or looked in our direction. Anyways great ramen. read more

First time at Tajima! We came around 5:30 on Valentines and we were immediately attended to and sat. We were so pleased by the ambiance when we entered. Felt intimate but lively inside. Food was amazing. We got the spicy sesame ramen, chicken ramen, cucumber salad, and chicken katsu bun. Food came out fresh and delicious, no complaints. Their Pink Paloma was very refreshing. Service was 10/10 from all the servers. They checked in on us frequently. Didn't need to wait to ask for anything from them. Well. 5 star service. Attentive people. But the food was mediocre. And the ramen is skimpy. If you've ever been to ramen you should be 100% full belly by the time you leave but this place seems to offer a half bowl of ramen at $15. If I were blown away by the quality I would go for it anyways, but it's not as good as some of my favorites like RakiRaki (same price point, twice as much ramen). No biggie they didn't have gluten free noodles (they don't) but my ramen came out deconstructed and I could see how little was in it. Half an egg (really just half?) 3 strips of meat, shaved green onion, and a few veggie strips. A little disappointing and a generous 4 stars because the servers were great. read more

I've been dying to try this place for so long & it did not disappoint. The ramen here is absolutely delicious. I recommend the Tajima Red ramen and the spicy tuna crispy rice. Everything was so hot & fresh & the food comes out quick. On tuesday's, they have an all day happy hour that is a very great deal. It is also just a really beautiful place, even though it still does feel the casual. I love the design of the inside and it creates a very relaxing atmosphere.
