Took my laptop here for a faulty DC input jack. I knew the solution was simply to replace the component and resolder before coming in. They ran a full diagnostic and confirmed it order the part and replaced it and tested it. My laptop is working great and it only cost me 1 hour of labor and the component. This place DOES ACTUAL PC/LAPTOP REPAIR folks. Most of the others will only help you with software issues but these guys repair hardware!! Review would have been 5 stars but a 4% processing fee that shows up as a "tip" on the receipt is not acceptable. I had a broken 3 month old refurbished Acer laptop (adapter and battery not working) and was skeptical about Acer's sketchy repair record. Plus, they wanted a flat fee of $249 plus parts before determining the issue. I had also brought my laptop to a local shop who couldn't fix it (claimed it was a mother board issue) and charged me $45 for diagnostics. After some research, I came upon the PCES website and the excellent Yelp reviews. I called the owner Behrouz, who already had ideas for how to fix it. It only cost me $10 to ship by UPS Ground to Irvine and Behrouz called me the day he received it. He thought it was the battery and a faulty adapter. The estimate came in at $271 for labor and parts, but at this point, it would have been less than buying another computer or shipping it to another repair shop. When the battery came in, Behrouz called me to tell me that wasn't the issue, although the new adapter was working fine. He wanted to try reinstalling the OS and called for permission to back up or erase the data. If that didn't work, it would be the mother board and more $$$. I told him to try that and if it didn't work, I would just use the laptop plugged in at all times. To my surprise, Behrouz later called to let me know that reinstalling the power management driver fixed the issue, and the old battery and new adapter were working fine now. He didn't charge me for the battery he ordered and the cost for the repair and return shipping was $131, less than half what he originally estimated. They have proven themselves to be an honest company and I was impressed with Behrouz's dedication and great communication. I am happy to report that a laptop that died of a suspected coffee drowning is now up and running and it didn't cost me an arm and a leg. Behrouz was extremely professional, communicated well, and had a really fast response time. When I first got the laptop back my fan was running a bit loud (unrelated to what I took it in for) and Behrouz was kind enough to check into it and when it died in his care, replaced it for me without any additional fees. Just a little history into my problem. The power cord to my laptop had a loose connection and I would have to hold the cord in order to get my laptop to charge. I had tripped over the cord many times in the past and had done some damage to the DC power jack. After originally mistaking the issue for a dead battery and ordering another battery online, I found that it wasn't the battery but the connection that was the problem. I found PC Expert Services online through Yelp. Behrouz was very quick to respond after I dropped off my computer and had it ready for me with a new power cord and fixed adapter right away. I went home and yes, my computer started to charge the minute I plugged it in! After the first couple of minutes using it I noticed that the screen started flickering and horizontal lines started forming across the monitor. I contacted Behrouz right away and he told me just to drop it off and he would take a look at it. It turns out it was a connection that had come loose while he was working on it. He fixed it and was very courteous responding right away to come back and pick it up and that there would be no charge. I picked it up and brought it back home and turned it on. Everything was fine it looked like my computer was back to normal. I then left it on and left to to do some shopping and when I returned I saw the blue screen of death on the monitor! Ahhhh, a little discouraged I called Behrouz and asked his advice. He said I could drop it off again and he could take another look at it, free of charge. He informed me of a lot I was not aware of including that ASUS is not the greatest brand, not made very well, and often have these issues. I would need to find the ASUS recovery CD in order to format my hard drive and get my computer running again. I looked everywhere unable to find the correct disk. I had pretty much given up at this point on trying to get it fixed and told Behrouz that I would just pick it up. I had to wait a week to get the chance to pick it up and when I went back I found that Behrouz had decided to fix it. After removing corrupted applications, malware, and adware and reinstalling the video driver my computer works perfectly! He did all of this on his own time and free of charge. Just before noon on a Monday, I took my wife's Lenovo laptop to Behrouz's place of business because it was not charging when connected to the AC adapter. I did not know whether the problem was with the receptacle inside of the Laptop, the end piece of the adapter, the motherboard, or what. Behrouz was not present when I arrived but the receptionist accepted my laptop and the form I had downloaded and printed out, and told me she would deliver it to Behrouz. I heard from Behrouz before the end of the day, and he determined that the problem was with the adapter. He quoted me a price on a new adapter and I authorized him to order it. The adapter arrived on Friday, Behrouz tested the system, and I picked it up at the end of the day. Behrouz is professional, very responsive, and his prices are reasonable. He works out of a small office in a shared suite in a two-story building in the Irvine Spectrum. When I first arrived and he was not present, I wasn't quite sure I was in the right place. Subsequently, we communicated via text, phone and email, and he was very responsive and accommodating in meeting me at his place of business shortly after regular business hours. I totally rely on Yelp reviews when I am in need of a service offering the best help, i.e.for my needs with the piece of mind that I will be able to provided the best possible service along with with the lowest and/or fair and reasonable cost for the service(s) provided. I had noticed that Yelp had rated - PC Expert Services, that is provided by owner -Behrouz with very high ratings.. lot of 5 star ratings and for good reason!! My personal laptop got hacked and it needed to be reformatted. I did not happen to have the required product ID code for installing Windows 7, but was no problem as Behrouz was able to obtain by finding off the motherboard that involves taking the computer apart. His plan "b" would have been to contact the PC manufacturer, i.e. DELL that he did not need to do. He cleaned up my PC by reformatting, loaded Windows 7 , then installed the required hardware drivers . He was VERY through-all in making sure that my PC would work OK, after the service by spending a day testing it , AFTER he had windows and the drivers installed. He is serious about the service that he provides for his customers!! My lap top is now running really great, ...once gain!! What a great job they did replacing the glass on my IPad 3. It was no easy task either. The owner let me watch the entire replacement so my IPad was never out of my sight. OK, so I dropped of my lap top because the screen was cracked. It made viewing odd but it worked and I could still watch a movie and certainly use it for email and social stuff. After a $500 estimate for work and a $49.00 fee to "open up the computer to check for the part number" my screen is now completely blank, dead, useless. When I complained I was told that the screen was "dead" when it was received. Not true then but true now. I was completely blown off after my approach about the problem. She explained the payment process to me ($39 deposit to look at it which goes towards the $95ish labor fee, if the computer needs repair parts it may be more) and quickly accepted my computer that afternoon telling me I'd be contacted soon. The next morning at 8:30 am I received a call from Ruben and my computer was diagnosed and ready for a quick fix! I had another trip to Irvine planned earlier this month and was experiencing video output issues with my same laptop that I had taken here the previous year. I had found a PC repair place not far from my house in Chicago that did an adequate job at a decent price on other devices, but I thought I would rather have Behrouz take a look at this laptop again while I was in town and try to figure out what the new issue was. I arrived in Orange County on a Thursday night, dropped my laptop off the next morning and received a response later that day from Behrouz with a diagnosis. My motherboard needed to be replaced, but he would not receive the part until the following Thursday after my departure back home. Given my very positive experience with Behrouz, I wanted to leave it with him and asked if he would be able to ship it back to me. He immediately responded and said this would not be a problem. We settled the charges later that evening (and these charges were very reasonable in my opinion) and I returned home several days later, lighter by one PC. Fast forward to today when I received my laptop back via FedEx and the PC back to normal again. Behrouz was able to quickly diagnose the issue, charge a reasonable amount for the work, then ship it back on time as promised immediately after receiving the needed part and installing it. I've taken 3 computers here over the years to get fixed. First I had a brand new desktop that got infected by the most frustrating malware - you couldn't even open a browser. PCES had it fixed in no time and I've had it for two years now with no problem! Then I had a 5 year old Toshiba laptop that was just struggling to keep up. Behrouz did some major cleanup and gave me a couple more year's use out of that laptop. When I finally did replace it, I got some very sneaky malware and adware that was just giving the slightest slowdown to my brand new laptop.
