I measure by three different things in comparison to Taco Bell: DECOR: At first look PDQ looks like a full service restaurant. The building it's in is huge and the sizing of the letters from the outdoor sign give Disney World a run for it's money. Inside it's always spacious and clean. It's more like an upscale fast food restaurant. Much better than your average Taco Bell or Chic-Fil-A cramped with seating and tend not to be the cleanest. Two stars for great upscale decor experience. SERVICE: My service experiences at PDQ has always been great. Whether you go through a drive through or order inside, they are prompt with orders and friendly. For me that's enough. A star for their great service! FOOD: Shall I compare thee to a Chic-Fil-A? Thou art more tasty and favourite...The art of making a chicken sandwich is no easy task. It's not as simple as putting two buns between a fried fillet. I thought Chic-Fil-A would rule in the Chicken Sandwich Kingdom, but I was gladly wrong. Their chicken sandwiches are always prepared deliciously hot and tender. The sauces they have are amazing--not to mention much more variety to choose from than Taco Bell. The buns are really good and seem baked day of. We love PDQ but skip this location. Got a medium family meal that comes with 2 family style fries and received only one basket. Asked about it twice (!) and a pretty rude red haired female employee told us that the basket contained both, which it did not. It is not the first time we are ordering the deal. Eventually got the second fry but no apology. That made the experience awful. We felt ripped off and awkward and did not feel comfortable getting additional sauces after that. Very clean place and nice staff. I ordered the grilled chicken salad which was pretty big and the chicken was well cooked although not a ton of flavor in it. It comes with grape tomatoes, almonds, and either cranberries or raisins (can't remember). Blueberry vinaigrette dressing served on the side instead of directly on top ". The lettuce is mostly iceberg which tastes like air and water. Food came out very quick and was brought to me. Lots of space and much bigger than most similar places. The manager Sal greeted us and when we said we had never been to PDQ he gave us his suggestions. One was for the tenders which they are known for. Simply put the best piece of chicken we have ever had. I have been a fan of chick fillet until our last experience. This location is out of our usual feeding grounds however, there is on much closer to us which we will have to try. The chicken was tender, juicy and the coating was excellent. The waffle fries also good. If you haven't been to one you won't be disappointed. This location is excellent. I just hope the one near us is the same quality. read more

I have been to this location quite a few times and I'm always pleased with the service. I usually just do the drive-thru and the workers are always pleasant and patient. The food is usually hot and fresh. I tried the featured item, spicy chicken sandwich. The sandwich is really good. I definitely like to add pimento cheese. I'm a fan of PDQ, ever since they hit the town. I bounce between 3 of the locations in east Ft Lauderdale and Pompano area. Parking is generally easy to find once you're in the lot. All the locations have a drive thru but I've not had good experiences so I recommend going inside. Most of the time you're greeted with a friendly "welcome to PDQ". The menu is fairly simple, chicken anyway you want it. Chicken tenders, salads, sandwiches and nuggets. The chicken is all natural, never frozen and no hormones or steroids. Place your order, pay for your meal and then go grab a seat. 8-10 minutes they'll be calling you back to the counter to grab your grub. I've had the salads, sandwiches and tenders at one time or another. The food is always fresh and tasty and much better than most fast food places serving fake chicken. They're always crispy outside, and juicy inside and they're served with a great selection of dipping sauces. Service is always quick and comes with a smile. You can get your tender fix in a variety of ways. The basic is tenders & fries. You can get your tenders fried or grilled & they have 8 sauces to choose from: Ranch, 2 different BBQ sauces, Honey Mustard, Bleu Cheese, Buffalo Bleu Cheese, Sweet Sriracha and my favorite: Creamy Garlic. If you don't feel like having fries, you can opt for blueberry cole slaw and feel (somewhat) virtuous without really sacrificing because the coleslaw is a nice cool contrast to the fresh, sizzling hot tenders. They also serve a variety of salads and sandwiches featuring chicken tenders (or not if that's how you lean), and you can have the sandwich served on lettuce instead of a bun. Tonight was our first time to try any of the catering services, although it's really more just a giant take-out order. Since they were doing a New Year's special, we figured this was going to be the best buy in town, and it was. We ordered the 25 piece tenders, giving us a total of 50, since it was buy one get one. Okay, that's a lot of tenders for 3 people, but we can deal with that, LOL. They were ready at just the time we had asked. We ordered 4 of the sauces to go with the chicken and they gave us a pint of each. The tenders were hot, juicy and delicious. The only issue was that the batter lacked salt, but we added that at home. Admittedly, our fries wilted on the way home, but you've kind of got to expect that. It might be better if they didn't tie up the top of the plastic bag so tight, so they don't steam as much. Our last eat-in order was much better than we'd had a this location before, so my rating goes up to 4 stars. But sadly, the apple pie milkshake is no longer on the menu. I'm bumping PDQ up to 4 stars as I have now been back twice. Both times I ordered the 3 tender meal. The meal comes with fries (I think there are options besides fries as well) and a regular drink. I think where my recent experiences have differed from the first one lies in the dipping sauces. God! They are out of this world!! Especially the creamy garlic sauce. So good! I also love the buffalo blue sauce and the honey mustard. The sauces really kick the flavor up a notch. I also really like the tenders. It seems you get a lot more food if you do a tender meal over a sandwich. I also hadn't tried the fries on my first visit. Definitely made a difference! Fries were great. I love that they still have the skin on them, and they were perfectly seasoned. PDQ really impressed me on these last 2 visits. I'm sure you will see me here again and again. Oh and I'm a big fan of their free-style Coke machines. I don't drink regular soda anymore (haven't for almost 3 years!), so it's nice that they have other options. The cleanliness of this place is matched by the quality of the food. Yes, it's got a fast food feeling, but the food is much better. The shakes are fantastic, and the tater tot's... Outrageously great. Truly, the bathrooms are spotless...if you're looking for a clean place. Let's face it: so many people come in from the street with filthy hands. They have a hand cleaning station that is so beautifully embedded in the architecture that you don't even notice. And by the way: if you have filthy hands, wash them before eating please. (Visit of March 11). I was pleasantly surprised by the Buffalo Bleu Chicken tender sandwich and Blueberry Cole Slaw ( a welcome healthy option). The sandwich consisted of two tenders bathed in a sauce of Buffalo and creamy Bleu Cheese, topped with a generous helping of crisp iceberg lettuce. It's $4.29 solo. I got the combo (a 16 oz drink and the Cole Slaw) for an extra $3, which might be 50 cents to a dollar too much. The chicken was marinated, but not Chick-Fil-A quality. There was some gristle on mine. Chick-Fil-A is still the king of fast chicken and hopefully they can build one in east Ft Lauderdale... one day. Until then, this is the next best option. read more

I went for the soft opening with a group of 7 friends and we really enjoyed it. Vanessa P. was part of my group, but no ones else got sick, and we all ate the same thing, so food poisoning is a bit strong of an accusation. Of all the chicken tenders I've ever had, these were actually tender and juicy. The fries were perfectly seasoned and the shakes... Those were amazing. The apple pie shake has unexpected chunks of apple pie and the giant straws just add to the experience. PDQ isn't near me at all, but I'd drive back over anytime for that apple pie shake! I am a little bummed I picked this restaurant to end my day. The first time I came here I wasn't sure already but it turned out to be an okay experience aside from having to mircrowave my food. This time they presented a fairly unpleasant experience AND screwed up my order, which put the nail in the coffin for me. I believe the first time was a Sunday. The second time I went, the front gal at the window couldn't be bothered to do the math to give me $2.76 in change from a $20 and had to grab the manager who showed her why it was right. It didn't help that there was some lady screaming at a cab driver on the other side of the window, but that's not PDQs fault. The Food: The first time I ordered here I got the crispy chicken meal with fries and a sweet tea. The crispy chicken was good after a jolt in the microwave, had pleanty of seasoning and fit the bill. The fries were extremely well seasoned and flavorful and was the one thing that sold me on this place. Little did I know the disappointment to come in my return. The second visit I ordered two things; a salad and the crispy chicken meal. The salad was the fruit one and it was okay but I wouldn't pay $8+ for just Romain again with a dusting of dried fruit and nuts. This is where the real bummer comes in: my crispy chicken sandwich wasn't a crispy chicken at all, but rather grilled , and not only that but it was luke warm like it had been out all day. The fries had clearly been under the lamp and left too long in the frier and they had no flavor at all like the last time. The tea seemed funky and dull too, I guess that's what I get for ordering on a Saturday evening at 6. Today was my first time at PDQ after years of my boyfriend raving about it, and he was not wrong! This restaurant has the benefits of a fast food joint by how efficient and fast they are at making the food but the inside was clean and beautiful and very relaxing to eat at! (Even though they do have a drive-thru) The floor and tables were all clean and there were multiple people working to keep the place in tip top shape. Even the bathrooms were spotless! The menu offered multiple chicken dishes. Chicken tenders, nuggets, salads, and sandwiches; grilled or fried. The fries and shakes are delicious as well! I love PDQ! Their chicken tenders are always freshly made to order and crispy. The Buffalo blue sauce is my favorite and the zucchini fries taste so good too. They changed their regular fires to waffle fries now, but their actually pretty crunchy so I can't complain (I'm usually not a fan of waffle fries because their always so soft and mushy). This PDQ location is always clean and quiet. I typically end up dining in here for a dinner around the 5pm hour. I've never seen more than 6 people in the place at this time. The food is prepared quickly and is always hot and fresh. I am a BIG fan of chicken tenders and this place does not let me down when it comes to those. Their fries are also decent. They are a thinner fry with a bit of salt. Another good thing to try is their blueberry coleslaw. We've been going to this location dice it opened about 3 years ago. We always get amazing service here and today was not different. John took our order and answered my questions honestly, which I appreciate. My husband got the 5 piece Tender meal with a chipotle bbq sauce and I got an 8 piece Chicken Nugget meal with creamy garlic sauce. The sauces here are amazing! I also got a chocolate chip cookie for later. This place is huge too and has lots of windows. They also have a hand washing station right in the dining room which is awesome and a total convenience. And even though I didn't get a milkshake this time around, they are amazing! It's always so clean and the customer service is top notch here, especially for a place that probably has a lot of high school students working there. That is something you don't see everywhere! Tonight wasn't my first night here, I have come many times for the fresh quality of food. However, tonight was a real treat. I did not know they closed at 10pm on a Friday and my son and I walked in at 9:57pm. Not wanting to be the person who comes in 3-5minutes before an establishment closes I asked the cashier if they were still taking orders and she said yes, just no milkshakes. I placed my order and went to get my drink, they were closing up the shop and my son was asking the employee what she was doing with the trash. She was so kind after talking to him she went and grabbed him a PDQ chicken! This made his night and mine. We were getting ready to leave and I believe it was the manager who said we could stay and enjoy our meal, of course I said no but he insisted and even got us ketchup. Has potential, but is lacking basic oversight/guidance from management. Pros: The chicken tenders were hot and fresh, but that was the only good thing. Cons: Fries were old and soaked in grease. Self service area was out of napkins, ketchup and was never refilled or serviced during my visit. There was a feeble attempt to take the garbage can out of service by placing a tray over the top of the opening, but this only confused the customers who moved the tray in an effort to dispose of their trash. All of this while two individuals who appeared to be managers had a conversation in the lobby with no customers in line and employees eating on the food line.
