My husband and I visited the shiny PDX Sliders cart a few days ago. Most of the burgers are named for bridges- clever! The Hawthorne is, hands-down, the best slider I've ever tasted. Burger, bacon, goat cheese, and strawberry preserves make for a magical combination of mouth-watering greatness. The Steel (two burgers, bacon, American cheese w/ aioli and grilled onion) was just OK- it felt a little bland. The fries were also a little salty for my taste. I recently attended a wedding for a relative where PDX Sliders was hired to cater the food. The wedding took place at an indoor venue where approximately 100 wedding guests were all dressed in their best clothes and the room beautifully decorated to honor the bride and groom on their special day. The "caterers" arrived at the agreed time but too bad their appearance looked like they had just come from a basketball practice! One "caterer" literally had on nylon basketball shorts, athletic shoes and a dingy white t-shirt that apparently had been washed with dark colors. The food was brought in on large commercial stainless steel trays, and served in red and white picnic paper basket. I, for one, had to ask what the food choices were because nothing was labeled. Yes, for certain, the food itself was very tasty, as other guests agreed but the presentation of the food was an insult to the event. I recommend Sliders reevaluate their wedding protocols and dress codes for future formal events. It would require minimal expense to present the meals on plates that coordinate with the event and have the "caterers" wear clean slacks and polo shirt or even a uniform. Catering events are often a chance to advertise. If someone hires this business for an event, I recommend they stipulate suitable presentation of the meal and dictate attire of the caterers. read more

I love this great little food cart. The beef they use is exceptional making this a superb burger. The Sellwood was our favorite, but we intend to go back and try and few others. That was very gratifying! Sometimes, I just crave a really good burger and fries with a coke. PDX Sliders delivered without the guilt. Their sliders are about three inches across, small, but packs a lot of flavor and satisfying. My sister order the Morrison which was an herb-marinated chicken with bacon, pesto, baby arugula, and aioli on Ciabatta. I ordered two, the Sellwood and Hawthorne--one to split with her. The Sellwood consisted of a beef, patty, bacon, aged sheddar, caramelized onions, butter lettuce, aioli and the Hawthorne had a beef patty, bacon, goat cheese, strawberry preserves on Brioche. Of course, she wanted to share the Hawthorne. I took a bite of the Hawthorne first and didn't want to give the rest to her. It was so succulent! The sweetness of the preserves with the tang of the goat cheese complimented the medium-rare beef patty well. My sister didn't care for the Morrison, she felt that it was something that she could've made at home and the Sellwood was delicious but very typical burger flavors. Love that their truffle fries are super crispy! I think there will be more Hawthorne burgers in my future. While sitting at the benches eating, I was surprise that they get a lot weird people constantly walking by for that area. read more

We came here starving after a strenuous hike and were blown away! The restaurant was empty (understandably so at 4pm), so we went in skeptical and came out huge fans. Yes you can believe the hype. The burgers are that goooooood. Like "I wonder if they put crack in the food?" cause its that addicting good. My only complaint is that the prices are higher than before, but the first time I ate here was 2016 when it was a food cart :). When I was much younger, my parents taught me not to trust anything that is too good to be true. Perfection, they said, was also not to be trusted. That being said, I keep hoping for a poor experience at PDX Sliders and every visit I am disappointed by their continued perfection. The service, the atmosphere, the drinks, and most importantly the food is always excellent! We tried out PDX Sliders tonight. Having just moved to Portland, we have been looking for a go to burger place like we had in San Diego. This may be it! According to my husband, it was the best burger he has had in Portland yet! He had the Hawthorne and Broadway. He said both were really good but the pork on the Broadway was fantastic. I got the Ross Island and the St Johns with the black bean patty instead of a mushroom. Both sliders were excellent, especially the St Johns which was very flavorful and rich with the goat cheese and roasted tomato. We also got an order of fries to share, which were also fantastic. It was all just enough food to feel satisfied and not over stuffed. To top our experience off the service was superb! We will definitely be back. read more
