I literally can't express how thankful I am for everyone here at Peaceful Pets. My beloved Tipsy Girl had a horrific month leading up to her in home euthanasia. I won't get into the crazy details of who, how, what, why? All I can say is, I finally found out where my Tipsy was after a long year of asking my ex where she had been. And of course I shouldn't have been surprised when I got more lies, but I eventually found serenity vet and peaceful pets who had her safe and sound.... even After a WHOLE YEAR HAD PASSED. I was able to still order any laser imprinted items, and Maria, I can't say enough about her. She had been helping me with this since the beginning. And then she Personally met me, hand delivered Tipsy Girl, showed me the items and explained them. I, still in shock, hugged her, at 11:30pm near Thousand Oaks as she handed me my pups remains. Susan and Jerry took care of our guinea pig, Lorenzo, when he passed away. The level of care is reflected by the level of detail they out into his aquamation. I was moved to tears when I saw that they took a paw print of Lorenzo before he went through aquamation. His remains where in a box similar to a jewelry box, in a plastic bag with a satin bow around it. There was also a hand-signed note from them with condolences. Donated collar: A friend referred me to Peaceful Pets because of the great service. My dog was put to rest Thursday afternoon. I took him directly to Peaceful Pets. The guy there fill out the forms on his computer. We went to my truck and he picked up my dog and took him inside. He did ask if they could keep the blanket. He didn't look to see if my dog had a collar or ask for it and I was upset. When I got home, I remembered that my dog still had his collar on. My week at work has been very busy and I though about calling and making sure I got the collar back but did not have the time in the day. Also, my friend's referral made me feel that when I pick up my dogs remains that collar would be there. His Collar was given away/donated. I feel that someone should have ask first. This collar my dog had most of his life and he did not like to have it off. Its also the one thing that I had to remember him and lets me see him in my heart. My dog was a Cairn Terrier name Moondawgie and I do miss him and its quiet now. I understand we all make mistakes. read more

Losing our precious dog Miles was the hardest time we have gone thru. He was our child and my constant companion. Never having lost a dog I didn't know what to do! My husband found the website for Peaceful Pets Aquamation and I read about the water instead of fire cremation and I knew that was the place to go. We were greeted by Blaire who was so accommodating and let me sit in their office for awhile with my dog. She was so understanding and kind. When I finally did relinquish Miles to her I felt he would be taken care of and it made me feel little lighter. They called in a week and a half and his ashes were ready. I lost my sweet Tobe to kidney stones on February 1. He was in so much pain that I had to make the very difficult decision to let him go. The day before I had searched the internet about cremation options for my Tobe and found Peaceful Pets Aquamation. When I asked my vet about them she gave me a brochure she had in her office and told me that was who they used when it was time to say goodbye. When I said goodbye to my Tobe the vet office took care of everything. I got a lovely e mail from Jerry later that afternoon letting me know that Tobe had been picked up and was in good care. That was very comforting to me, especially under such difficult circumstances. Less than 2 weeks later I received a call from my vet letting me know that Tobe's remains were back and I could come pick him up. Happy New Year, I'm not one big on writing reviews but I was compelled to on our pets behalf. First, if you're going through the pain of losing your pet. Now you need to handle the after care. With conventional cremation you never know if you are getting back the ashes of your loved one. Since that industry has zero requirements. Your loving pet could be tossed in an oven with road kill and whatever else. Long story short, I contacted Aquamation (ask for Shermin) from start to finish they all were kind, compassionate and loving. We now have our pet back and know it's all of him plus they were thoughtful enough to include we his little paw print just as we have of my two children. They will be hanging on our wall of love. If you're reading this you're a pet lover and really need to look no further. From the bottom of our hearts what a true blessing they were for us. Words just can't express my feelings. Our cat was very ill at the end and all I felt from most of the people we turned to just tried to extract as much money as the could from us. Moreover, if you live in Southern California I will list the big three that made us feel it was about our pet not our wallet. Here are my favorites, just a class act!!! If I could give Peaceful Pets no stars if I could. Susan gave absolute horrible customer service. We lost our pet over Thanksgiving weekend 2015 and we did not receive our pet's remains until Christmas Eve and ONLY because I continued to call over and over only to find out Susan left for Christmas vacation. Susan never returned my calls and was flustered with answers for simple questions that any business owner should know. It's not like don't expect business owners to take vacations but not until they deliver what was promised. The only person from that company that made it possible to receive our pet's remains on Christmas Eve was Sherman. I live in Long Beach and she was in Newbury Park, she met me in West LA (during holiday traffic) so we could have pet home for Christmas. Come to find out, our pet was ready and sitting on a shelf for at least 2 weeks. I was disappointed and hurt by Susan's poor customer service and Jerry's lack of empathy for our situation. He did call two weeks after Christmas but only said, "Sorry, I have no excuse." He didn't offer any compensation or anything else. I will never use Peaceful Pets and I will never recommend them. If you have a need for your pet to be cared for, call the LA Pet Cemetery in Calabasas. They are top notch and give first class service and care. read more

I first heard of Peaceful Pets Aquamation (PPA) at an event where they had a booth. I kept a pen that had their information to think about when the time comes again. I was very happy with a different company I used when my first baby, Destiny, died and thought I would use them again for sure. When my other baby, Zeke, died I decided to use PPA for environmental consideration. I'm glad I did because I met Sherman, who was sent to pick him up the same day. She ended up staying for what seemed like a long time, maybe an hour or so, listening about Zeke (and my other kids) and comforting me through shared experiences and humor. We got tearful a few times. For that time I felt less sad. Then we had a memorial for Zeke where my family and friend came to see him and pay respects. Sherman met my family and thru humor lightened what would have been a very somber mood and sad event. She had us take our time and didn't rush us to leave the facility. About 2 and a half months later, my baby, Shaggy, died in the middle of the night and I didn't hesitate to call Sherman directly. She came to pick him up early in the morning. I was still asleep and she waited outside until I saw her message and called her back. Again we had a memorial and she placed Shaggy so beautifully for us to visit. He looked so peaceful. I stayed even longer this time because I had such a hard time letting him go. I could have stayed all day and she would've let me but finally I let go. Sherman is the epitome of a true animal lover and is sincere in her compassion for animals and feeling the loss of any animal whether it's yours or hers. She is the perfect person to work in a place like this because you know your loved one will be treated with love and respect. Both times she has gone the extra mile for me during these sad times and in helping me deal with the grief. I met a couple of other people there, her friend and the owner, since I stayed so long. They also seemed to sincerely care for the deceased animals they picked up. You can sense that the people in this company are not doing this just for the money but that they really feel compassion too for these animals that have passed. I received both of my babies' remains in these beautiful boxes and bags with their pawprints. I was gonna buy matching urns for them to match Destiny's urn. But since the the packages are so beautiful I decided to leave their remains there and memorialize them with customized portraits instead. I highly recommend PPA and when the time comes again will definitely use them and call Sherman again. read more

This is a long overdue review because it has been so hard to think about. Last Nov. my daughter had to euthenize her service dog. We had met Sherman and Jerry at a dog event and decided we would use them when the time came. We did not know it would be so soon. They remembered us and when I called for my daughter they were ready and said they would pick up Koko for us. Sherman called the next day to let us know how things were going. When Koko was ready I went to get him for my daughter because she could not bear to do it. Sherman and Jerry were there and were so kind and caring. Loosing my puppy Winston was the most painful grief I have ever felt. It is difficult to grieve and also deal with finding the proper way to put your pets remains to rest. I am honestly blessed that during one of the darkest moments Peaceful Pets made a difficult situation much easier. Blair, the sweetest woman, answered our phone call right away, and this was at nearly 10pm on a Friday night. We were able to bring Winston in immediately and take as much time as we needed to say our goodbyes. I even came back the next day to get last minute nose mold of our pup. Blair seems to be a superhero and is always on call via text and over the phone. Aquamation was and is the only choice for providing your fury family member with a respectful burial. I am 1000 percent confident that Winston was treated with dignity. We chose to have an ink paw and nose print added on; a clay print was included in the cost of the Aquamation. Don't even think about cremation or burial, Peaceful Pets is honestly the only truly loving, caring, honest place to take your pets for their final trip. Sherman and Jerry are absolutely amazing. Jerry gave me all the information I needed before sending my beloved Buster over the Rainbow Bridge. On the Saturday, the day of, Sherman stayed late Saturday evening to wait for our arrival to drop off Buster. Sherman shared in our tears, and is so compassionate and caring. She suggested that I come back to make the paw print of Buster. Through out, Sherman made me comfortable and secure. The facility is clean and professional. When I picked up Buster's remains, his Urn and clay paw print were wrapped beautifully in green silk tied with a ribbon. I know that Sherman and I will become compadres in our cat rescue work. We all must face loosing our beloved Pet(s) at some point, and this is far and away the BEST alternative available. read more

When discussing options for my cat Spencer's aftercare with my vet, he highly recommended PPA. Never having heard of aquamation before, I did an internet search. I learned, PPA offers a gentle and green alternative to pet cremation and is run by a husband and wife team. After reading a few news articles about them, I called for more information. My call was transferred to an owner's cell, Susan, who pulled over from driving, to give me her undivided attention. She then gave me Sherman's cell, an employee, who from that moment on, acted as my personal angel, throughout the entire process. I'm writing this review a couple of months late since it was very difficult for me to even think about losing our American bulldog "Lilo" who was with our family for over 12 years and deserved nothing but the best in regard to end-of-life care. I have to say, Peaceful Pets went above and beyond our family's expectations when it came to dealing with such a sudden heartbreaking event that every pet owner has to contemplate one day or another. Since Lilo's passing was unexpected in the middle of the night, we were given Peaceful Pet's number from another cremation organization who wouldn't be able to do anything until the next day. Thank God we called. Sherman met us there that night and her caring nature helped to console our son who was the most distraught that horrible night. I am so impressed with Peaceful Pets Aquamation, Inc. We lost our cat suddenly and knew that we wanted to have her brought back home after she passed. These folks were so amazing. They came from Newberry Park all the way to Reseda to pick our cat up. They phoned us to let us know that they had her and would mail her cremains back to us. All of this done without even a mention of a deposit or payment. Our beloved pet arrived in a beautiful box, along with a beautiful paw print ornament, strung with lovely beads. Amazing! While this is a call you never want to make, it is one that you know you will need one day when that time comes to say good bye to your four legged family member. Upon first calling, I spoke to Susan to explain that I would soon be needing to schedule an appointment for a pick up as I had to say goodbye to my little girl. I was in tears and she was extremely kind and understanding. On that final day when my precious Bruiser had to make that journey to cross the Rainbow Bridge, a wonderful lady from Peaceful Pets Aquamation texted her arrival and waited outside until I was ready to let my baby go. I was able to wrap her in a baby blanket and lay her in a bed of blankets. She was ready to come back home with me to her final resting place a week later. I picked her up and when doing so the woman who helped me was very kind through the entire process. The compassion show by each person who I met or spoke to was so appreciated during this difficult time. I highly recommend contacting Peaceful Pet Aquamation if you need this type of service as your beloved four legged family member will be treated with dignity and love. Thank you for returning our little boy Oliver home in such a beautiful precious way. We were devastated when we had to put him down after 20 years of his love...it was his time but not ours. I'm so happy to have found peaceful pets. My parent's beloved cat passed away suddenly on a Sunday evening. We didn't know what to do with his body, especially since everything was closed. Wonderful. I had to put my cat, Bailey, to sleep in July after 15 years together and it was so hard losing him. But about 2 weeks later, I got his ashes back in a beautiful organza bag with his paw print and pretty crystals strung on the line. The box is really nice and inside, his ashes were tied with a beautiful bow. You can really tell the care and love they put into giving him the respect he deserved. They love animals, and included a sweet card consoling me on my loss. Professional, good for the environment, and caring. Bailey was about 10 pounds so it cost me about $200, and it was more than worth it. A friendship of 15 years deserves to be honored and Peaceful Pets made sure it happened. With all the 5 star reviews, I hope I'm the exception, but I wanted to post my experience so the company could acknowledge my feedback (I sent them an email with the information below on Jan 19 and did not receive any response). To Whom It May Concern, I am a recent customer of Peaceful Pets and hope that this email can be forwarded to Jerry & Susan for consideration. It has been about a month since my best friend, Meatball, passed away and in that time Peaceful Pets has been an integral part of my transition process from being a pet owner to having been a pet owner. I just wanted to reach out and say THANK YOU for the very unique service you provide. Having a small carbon footprint is very important to me and choosing aquamation was a no-brainer for me, which was a relief because I was in no position emotionally or mentally to make big decisions. I also really appreciated the additional merchandise that was available for purchase with the aquamation. The attention to detail of the prints and fur clippings were outstanding and really showed that a lot of care was taken to provide a personalized memento for each customer. I am so happy with my dog house urn that lovingly displays Meatball's picture as well as the variety of other merchandise that are wonderful and meaningful decorations I put around my house. Finally, as someone who has been working in entertainment for over a decade and am also considering a change to a more fulfilling and benevolent career, I immediately felt a connection to Jerry's story on the "about us" page of your website. I would also like to offer some constructive criticism in hopes of improving the experience for your next customer. The main feedback I would like to provide is that I spoke with 3 people at Peaceful Pets - Amy, an unnamed woman, and Jerry. I was quite disheartened that of all the conversations, I was not offered any condolences, words of support, or even a compassionate acknowledgment of the loss. All the conversations were friendly enough, but very business-like. An example: after having a few phone conversations with Amy, when I would call and introduce myself the response was a general "how can I help you?" Perhaps just adding a friendly "hi! how are you doing?" before going into the work aspect would put a lot more customers at ease. I did only speak with the unnamed woman and Jerry very briefly and it was about a specific matter, but my suggestion would be starting the conversation with "before we start, I'd just like to offer my deepest condolences." Also, the reason I do not know the name of the unnamed woman is because when I called I said, "hi is this Amy?" and the response was just a curt "no." Again, still a helpful conversation as I was calling about a specific issue, but I believe there is room for more empathy or compassion in the communication. At the end of the calls, I was left feeling like any customer at a retail store or mechanic and not someone patronizing a business that provides such an important service to vulnerable and emotionally raw people. However, once I met your driver (I'm so sorry that his name is slipping my mind now, but I did call Amy right after I met him and told her to please pass along my kudos), I had the complete opposite interaction with him. He was very friendly, engaged, empathetic, and just KIND. He allowed me to spend those extra few precious minutes with Meatball before he drove away. He asked me about Meatball and told me about his own experience - losing his Golden Retriever and not being able to afford to receive his remains is what inspired him to do his work. What an amazing guy! This short interaction with him made what would have been a terrible day a whole lot better and I think it's these kinds of conversations that can really go a long way, especially during the first phone call. My sweet and beautiful Kola had to be put down at 15. That day was one of the saddest days of my life. That morning I called Sherman and told her the time the vet would arrive. She and Blair arrived at the appointed time and at my invitation they were there when Kola's spirit began its next adventure. They handled Kola with such respect and loving care.
