. Took my sister there Sunday for her birthday. The waitress was super sweet. Blond young woman, as well as the manager..young Asian man. Made us feel welcome and well taken cared of. Love the Blackberry gin drink. Not too sweet but refreshing and it packed a punch. The somewhat disappointing part was the food. The fried green tomato appetizer had zero seasoning. Tasted like nothing. There was no salt. No garlic...just nothing. Was super disappointed. The sauce did not help. She ordered the fish and grits...and it was the same. No seasoning. Just bland. I felt bad because it was her birthday. I had the famous crab pasta...that actually want bad...just lacked crab but descent. We had the cheesecake for dessert and it was different. My brother suggested that we try this restaurant out and I'm glad that he did. When we arrived we were seated immediately by the hostess. While we waited for one more person in our party we order the Brooklyn wings and the fried shrimp appetizers. Delicious....so good we order a second of each. Our drinks was a little to be desired. We ordered two of the house specials; neither one of us enjoyed it. Something was missing from the drink all I could taste was the alcohol. We decided to order off the list and the was were meh! Entrée. I hand the salmon; two medium sized slices very well cooked but needed just a touch more seasoning. I understand the lobster ziti is excellent. Ate here last night and cannot stop thinking about the Grilled Octopus with white beans, kale, and salsa verde. It was that good. Too bad it's only an app. The fried chicken was also good but not as memorable. The grilled octopus was so good I wish I didn't have to share. The restaurant was disappointing, but not terrible. Just to cite one example, the coffee tastes like standard diner coffee, flavorless and weak. It's prominently featured throughout the restaurant and on the menu, though, as brewed exclusively for this restaurant. It costs the same as good coffee and isn't refilled during the meal, which is more the case with high-quality coffee. We were expecting something special and got something average at best. The food was OK - the crab cake didn't taste like crab but the eggs were about what we expected. If someone had told me afterward that the crab cake was actually a veggie burger, I would have believed it. We didn't order the shrimp and grits, but judging from what we saw it is a bit light on shrimp. The tables were close together, more like what I see in Manhattan than Brooklyn, so we heard our neighbors' attempt to sort out their relationship and work issues. I saw this place on food channel and rushed from Nj to try! I loveeeee crabs. I will say that they made my family wait to be seated for almost 40 minutes with an empty restaurant which really pissed me off since I have a 16 month old maniac baby. When we finally were seated we received our food relatively fast but the crabs broil was not good to me at all. Buttery with no flavor. Went here with my mom one Saturday morning for Brunch after Bedford Hall was closed. I had the Mushroom Egg Benedict... Which left me hungry although the topper salad was delicious. My mom had the Marietta Burger, which she said was "aight", but she's picky and doesn't like much. Since I was still hungry, I ordered the French Toast with Blueberry Compote and it was DELICIOUS!!!.... Wish I had gotten this first. Overall a nice quaint spot and I would return with family from out of town or friends. Far for me since its far from my train... But the French toast (2 slices, cut into 4 pieces) was great. This placed looked good on yelp so we walked in. We ordered the wings, fried green tomatoes, fried chicken bowl, and whiting fish. The greens on all the plates had some yellow leaves and even had some of a plastic bag mixed in there. The sauce on the wings were good but the wings were still pink, the green tomatoes were ok, the fried chicken bowl was good. The whiting was not good. It was very fishy, there were bones all over the fish, and the skin was still on. I didn't get any sauce for the sandwich and the bread was burnt. Not a good dish. The worst part of the lunch was the service. The 2 apps came out in decent time but the chicken bowl and fish took another hour to come out. We couldn't flag anyone down working there to try and cancel the rest of the lunch because they were busy setting up the bar and chatting. Went here for brunch maybe two weeks ago. If you one here for brunch or probably any other time, get here early so you can reserve a spot. We waited 30 mins for a table for two which wasn't a problem for us but couple be for other people. The space is super tight. Like they wanted to make sure they sat everyone so they put a table next to us and to get out from our table we had to pull their table out. Real tight. I would recommend though. Not sure if I went here on an off night but this was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. This is surprising being that this was my second time dining here. When my partner and I arrived and were seated, it took twenty minutes to get any kind of service. Our waitress never stopped by to introduce herself or take our drink orders. We had to flag down the host that seated us to order our drinks. After another ten minutes, our waitress shows up with an attitude and says, "Do you know what you want?" No hello, how are, can I take your order? Honestly, I was ready to go at that point, but being that it was my partner's birthday and it was already 10:30 at that point, I decided it couldn't get any worse. But of course it did. We didn't receive our food until after 11, which was cold and looked thrown together. When I expressed my concern to the waitress, she decided to reprimand me for coming to dinner moments before the kitchen was closing. I had to remind her that she did not come to take our order for the entire half hour we were seated and that someone else took our drink order. The food is not good enough to deserve this kind of treatment from the staff. It was funny that when it came time to pay, she decided to give my partner a dry, "Happy birthday by the way," as if that would help the horrible experience. Luckily, I believe in karma and did not leave a bad tip. Not sure what her name was, nor do I care, but I definitely do not recommend dining here. Period. read more

The location manages to be both intimate and spacious. 5-star food/service. Had to drop one star because the bar stools definitely aren't built for ladies who are "gifted" in the rear. I went there on a Monday afternoon so the place was not packed. My waiter was not attentive and we only ordered two rounds of drinks and one salad. My boss ordered a coke twice and was ignored, so I had to go to the bar to get him one. Our waiter finally brought it 20 minutes later after my boss drank his coke. The worst part of the experience was the salad. I love a good watermelon salad but when something arrives literally minutes within ordering you know there was no effort in the dish. I took a picture but it was actually funny how much lack of effort there was. The greens were not tossed in anything just plain on top of what it seemed to be just chopped watermelon - not special at all. The space is huge with exposed brick walls, high ceilings, and a substantial wooden bar. The red metal stools and chairs pair beautifully with the red shrimp logo painted on the wall. I tried the Slushie Sangria which was delicious and strong but no really for me. I had the White IPA from Brazen. I like when places serve local brews. The wings were an even combination of drumette and wing. The meat was tender and juicy. The sauce was smoky and sweet with a bit of creaminess from the frizzed white sauce. The hot sauce was actually pretty spicy. The fried chicken was quite good. It contained a full wing, a drumstick, and a breast. The breading was darker golden brown, crispy, and adhered well to the chicken. The meat was juicy. The old bay fries were crispy and soggy. It had a lot of flavor but a bit too salty for me. Girls night out for the ladies of my immediate family and my mom picks Peaches Shrimp and Crab, which I thought to be disrespectful since I'm allergic to shellfish But I'm a team player and a foodie so I'll yelped it checked the pics and the menu and went in with a game plan. For starters we had: Truffle Parmesan Bread: "meh" I'm a sucker for truffle the smell alone would make me eat cardboard and this bread was only a couple notches above cardboard (sorry Peaches). Brooklyn Wangs: finger licking good that white BBQ sauce is a nice touch and the chicken looks to be smoked very delicious. Fried Green Tomatoes: they were good and crispy the comeback sauce was good with them. Entrees: Fried Chicken: well seasoned crispy outside but for me (well done extra crispy everything queen) it could have been a bit more done inside. Parmesan Grits: DELICIOUS I could eat them everyday Brussel Sprouts: take these to a private corner and devour they were soooo good that my mom and sister kept thinking they were a communal dish. Gumbo: my mom wasn't a fan and she's had gumbo in the bayou so I'd say take her word for it Crab legs: my sister was pleased with them and I ate a potato and bit her corn both tasty Drinks: I believe I had the goodnight kiss it was ok could have been stronger but satisfactory my sister had the run punch which was delicious can't remember moms drink but it was similar to the kiss and equally as tasty. I really love this place and their food and I'm sad they're no longer Shrimp and Crab, but now Grand. I've only had pleasant experiences with the waiters (besides one but we won't let one bad apple spoil the bunch) and their salmon and sausage, corn and potatoes were amazing! I've enjoyed brunch here twice--once when it was still Marietta and recently after the switch to Peaches Shrimp and Crab. I used to live around the corner and loved the wall of windows and how cozy and casual the restaurant felt. The switch to Peaches Shrimp and Crab is smart, and brings the brand of these restaurants together in a solid way. Service was excellent from the moment I walked in--everyone was friendly. Our waiter checked in on us many times and made great suggestions on what to order. On my recent visit I had the Chicken and Toast, a play on chicken and waffles but with (you guessed it) French toast. The chicken was amazing, perfectly fried and crispy, and the French toast paired nicely. Brunch was relaxing and my friend and I didn't feel rushed. As this particular area of Clinton Hill/almost Bed Stuy faces changes, Peaches Shrimp and Crab is a welcome one. I feel this is a solid dining choice and welcoming to not just new residents but those from way back as well. read more
