We've been coming here since this culinary delight opened. It was called "Marietta", then. We love their signature drink, under the same name. I ALWAYS order it. My husband, family & friends that we've brought, like to explore the vast cocktail, wine & beer menu. The food, while eclectic, has that down home, loving feel with some current day nuances mixed in. This is across the board; midday menu, brunch menu and dinner menu. Their dinner menu, btw, is incredibly delectable and has something for everyone. The prices don't kill your purse or pocket, the wait is never too long, and a great meal and satisfying libation is assured. Oh, the wait staff is loveable, accommodating and hard working. This place is awesome! I saw this place on food paradise on the travel channel and since I love seafood I really wanted to try it. I came with my family and everything we ordered was delicious. From the fried calamari to the Jim Cade boil. And they have great service as well, very friendly and attentive. I know its called Peaches Shrimp and Crab but Buy the Burger! Peaches shrimp and crab has been my go to during this new coronavirus filled world we are living in. Its one of the few black owned business here in gentrified Clinton Hill Brooklyn. I have been dining there since they were Marietta and was very excited to taste what was offered once they changed the concept. The Marietta burger is my fave-I would describe it as a beefier version of a shake shack burger but it has onion jam and a perfect billowy brioche bun. I probably have had the burger the most but I have also enjoyed the crab rice, the brussel sprouts, fried shrimp, calamari, and of course the snowcrab legs, and to top it off now they have a frozen drink machine for the summer! All I have to say is the staff here is great! No rush no fuss in hovering over you every 10 minutes and when they finally came they were all smiles. I'm always looking for a good seafood restaurant that doesn't overcook. I am glad to have found this restaurant for my mother and brothers birthday earlier this year . When I called to find out information, I was told everything I needed to know . When we arrived It was quite empty which meant no wait at all . Our seats were by the bar and the music was just right . We were served quite quickly. Our meals were well seasoned. Our crab and lobster was very very good and easy to crack . I brought my friend from Georgia here for lunch, expecting to give him an authentic Southern treat. It wasn't all bad but it sure wasn't great. The place only had like six other customers, but the waiter wasn't attentive & I had to get up to search for him a couple times. When I tried to politely complain to the server about the sweet tea (which was gross), all I got was an argument and a visible impatience to get away from our table -- no offer to replace the drink with something else. I don't know what his deal was, he was stressing about something (in all fairness I don't think he was being deliberately rude to us). As far as the meal goes, the menu was super basic. The fried chicken was okay but dry and tough in places, and there was nothing special about the breading. My friend said the grits tasted like instant, and since he grew up eating his momma's homemade grits I'll take his word for it. I was super embarrassed because I had hyped the place up to him. (edit: after reading some of the other reviews here, I'm convinced this place doesn't always use fresh ingredients). On the plus side, my roasted mushrooms were tasty and the granola French toast was novel & pretty good (but you drown anything in maple syrup and it's gonna be good, pretty much). So I have to give this place two stars because I just can't look past a Southern comfort food restaurant that can't get grits, fried chicken and sweet tea right (and no biscuits on the menu either). Then the bill came (actually, we sat there for ten minutes after the table was cleared until finally I got up to go hunt down our server). Two modest lunch entrees and a side dish somehow came up to $55 (including basic tip which obviously was *not* justified). The prices were way out of proportion to the quality of the food & the service. Sorry guys. Maybe your dinner service is better, but your lunch experience needs a major overhaul. read more

Food is pretty good especially the fish sandwich however they need to pay more attention to customers and details. For example after my 8th visit the service has been consistently bad. Staff does not pay attention or understand how to earn that 20%. They know nothing about choreography. Its simply a case of disorganized confusion!!!! Ordered the crab cake eggs Benedict and their Brownstone punch. The crab cake dish was delicious and a good portion. There was only one crab cake, which I thought was a little strange but it 8oz (according to the waitress) and tasty. The Brownstone punch was good, but not outstanding, next time I'll stick with the traditional mimosa. The only downside of the experience was the service. The waitress was very nice, but it initially took her 15 minutes to come to our table and we were one of only four tables seated in our area. The service was quite slow. Additionally, I accidentally spilled a glass of water on the floor and when I told the waitress, she pointed me to a stack of napkins, insinuating I should clean it up. 5 minutes later she came to help. I didn't mind cleaning it up, but I thought it was pretty inefficient to have me clean it as opposed to just using a mop. Overall, good experience, yummy food, and polite but slow service. read more

My friend and I were in the mood for a seafood boil but this was not it. We had plans to go to a different restaurant but their kitchen was closed already & after doing some googling I came across Peaches Shrimp and Crab. I know of the Peaches franchise and was excited to support a black-owned restaurant but I was highly disappointed with the seafood boil! The restaurant is nice and very welcoming, I'll give them that! I can't speak on the other food on the menu but the seafood boil was NOT it! First off all they only have one corn and too much potatoes! I had to ask for extra old bay seasoning to add on my food. I went here on a Sunday afternoon. Not many people were there and my friend and I sat outside. We waited about 10 minutes before anyone came to offer water or hand us menus. Then we had to wait close to 15 minutes for our orders to be taken. The service was almost nonexistent. Food was good, but I wanted ketchup for my eggs and my sister never came around to ask if we needed anything. Also, one person got us water and took out order, one person brought our food, another our drinks. No one stayed around long enough for us to make requests. They simply dropped it off then ran away. Just tried out Peaches tonight (we ordered to go). We were pretty pleased with what we had. Ordered a salad, soup, kale side, garlic truffle bread and crab spaghetti. The salad was nothing memorable but they give you a decent sized portion. Soup was good but not your average clam chowder. Not quite as thick or creamy. Kale aide was great and crab spaghetti was different. Didn't seem as memorable or quality as marietta's was. We will post again once we try brunch. read more

Just came to get something to eat. It was plenty of space to sit but the short Caucasian woman with the glasses claimed they had reservations coming in "soon" so we had to wait THIRTY mins. She then went on to say we could sit at the bar (which was completely FULL) and offered for us to sit outside in the 65 degree COLD. What an idiot!! She could've easily offered us to sit and eat for the timeframe before the reservations arrived. Anyway needless to say we left hungry and angry. What a waste of a Friday evening. read more

Took the men in my family here and they were so impressed by the food they even took fried shrimp to go! Was initially worried about an hour wait but the hostess made sure we got our seats within 15 minutes. Simple decor but between the drinks and food we were stuck in our seats! Easy breezy Sunday brunchin'! We scored an outside table with some friends and enjoyed the food. I got the French toast and fried chicken - I liked that it wasn't an overwhelming amount of food but was satisfying. The chicken was fresh out the grease and the French toast was well done - nice crust yet still a soft (but not oozy!) inside. Beau got the burger and seemed to enjoy. Our friends got shrimp and grits and the breakfast basics, both they said were their go to dishes. Only 4 stars because service left a little to be desired (we had to ask for water twice, beau's beer was forgotten then came in a less than full glass, my coffee was never refilled). Well ,after a friend of mine ranted and raved over the crab legs I had to come for myself and check it out. I was surprised the crab legs come with some kind of special sauce . They say it was garlic sauce, nah there was no garlic in it but was good. The fried green tomatoes were bland there was a spicy sauce to make up for it. That was my only complaint. I will go back but I won't order that. This place will be crowded come summer. read more

I just had brunch at this establishment, The Absolute Worst! My fiance and I have a tradition to have brunch every Sunday and today we chose this establishment. Our serve for today was a young lady by the name of Lea D. She's a pretty dark shin African-American woman with a low cut caesar much like myself. So for starters I ordered the Brioche Toast with a Brownstone Punch, and he ordered the Brooklyn Wings. For our main brunch entree, I had the whole lump crab cake Benedict, and my fiance had the Long Island Whiting Sandwich with a side of Sauteed Kale. Well shortly after putting our order in that when everything went haywire. A four-top sat down not too long after we put our order in. First I had to get up out my seat and go find Lea D to request another drink. Next, the four top that was seated after us food came out first and two of them had ordered the steak and eggs. At that time Lea D was just bringing me the drink that I had to go and ask her for. I asked Lea D what exactly happened to the order of food that we had placed before the four top, she responded and said: " I will go and check". Well, she left and never came back, no seriously she never came back. One of the food runners brought us our food and Lea D was nowhere around. I checked my food before the food runner left and guess what!!!! I didn't even have the whole lump crab cake and my fiance didn't receive his sauteed kale. Well, I went and asked to speak to the manager. I didn't manage to get his name but he was very nice and he also took off our brunch entrees. The madness didn't stop there, Lea D never returned to check on our table and she had her other co-workers doing her job. They brought us our check but never asked us if he needed any to go boxes or anything..... Let me say this I totally understand the difference when a server messes up on a table and when the kitchen is at fault. Either way, the server is still supposed to come and speak to the guest at that table and say something. Lea D did not at any time come to say anything or see if there was anything that she could do to accommodate her customers. This is my new spot for brunch. We had the Maine lobster scramble and the chicken and toast. OMG!!!! The eggs were perfectly seasoned and the lobster was very tasty and tender! The chicken was fried to perfection.....crispy on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside! The French toast was very flavorful. Everything is seasoned just right! A local neighborhood staple! Always have great food and decent service. I normally go here 1 Sunday a month with my grandmother and wife and have the fish sandwich for brunch. Service can be a bit slow when they are crowded but its normally worth the wait for the food, family atmosphere and cool outside seating! I have not sit down in ate here yet but I did have a take out order of the Crabcake sandwich. The bun was burned the Crabcake was burned I cant not believe a cook would serve that garbage to anyone! They crabcake itself was dry and tasteless, it may have been frozen. They reviews for crabcake was very good I was very disappointed! Everything we ordered was sooooo unseasoned. I was flabbergasted. Crab burger was a dry brioche bun and just a plain crab patty. I had to make my own sauce for it to taste like anything. Parm grits so incredibly unseasoned, I had to add salt and some good Parmesan from my fridge. Chicken sandwich was nice, but again the chicken was so under seasoned, thankfully the sandwich had pickles and sauce on it. The brown butter cake was super over priced, it's a small piece of cake, the kind that looks like the slices of marble cake or pound cake you get at the bodega wrapped in cling wrap, only this was much smaller. I could tell it was nice quality but I felt very dissatisfied with the seasoning. Delivery was prompt, ordered through caviar. My spouse and I visited this place last summer, and we were really impressed with the food and service, so this Easter weekend when friends of ours who were attending church in the area wanted to meet for brunch, I suggested here. This suggestion came with a reminder to my friends that it is Easter Sunday, so a significant wait would be inevitable. Upon arrival, we were informed that there would be about an hour and fifteen minutes wait. Excellent! We actually spent the time chatting and catching up, so an hour and a HALF went by quickly. At that point, we did check in (with no sense of urgency in our tone), and was told that we had two tables in front of us. Fine. Fifteen minutes later, we were offered a two-top for immediate seating, or the choice to wait for a three-top for another twenty minutes. Fine, we'll wait for the three-top. Twenty minutes later, an entire section opened up, and the tables were quickly set up. Another fifteen minutes passed with no one being seated at the open tables. We checked in again to see if our table was included in this section, which we assumed it was, as there were no people waiting who arrived before us. Another ten minutes passed before a nice gentleman said your table is ready. Great! He led us to A TWO-TOP WITH A SETTING FOR THREE PEOPLE. We politely told him that we waited specifically for a three-top. He relayed the message to a young lady who approached with attitude. Upon asking what the problem was, I responded, and she peppered me with a series of "OKAYS" that really meant "And, what do you want me to do about it." At this point I was annoyed, and lost my pleasing personality. I motioned with my finger in a manner and said "Because you have a little 'ting ting' going on, I'm getting pissed off. She denied that, and promptly thanked me for putting my finger in her face. My finger was not in her face - would never do that - but I did motion it to signify that everything about her spirit was wrong. I really felt bad about having to go off, and I apologized to my friends who were equally as annoyed throughout the experience, but at least were able to summon a calm when I needed it most. Our server was a bit scattered, and it was then that we realized the entire restaurant was overwhelmed. Having worked in the industry, I can completely understand. I'm one of those people who will wait to allow the front and back of the house the time need to "catch up," but this must be communicated; a lack of communication always indicates a message of the consumer being taken for granted, and that's so not a nice feeling. The food was not what I remembered, and the chaos caused by a lack of staff continued all around us, which made the experience a continued wreck. We paid our check, tipped well, and all agreed the experience was a horrible. We spent the remainder of the day trying to "reclaim our time" by visiting a number of other haunts in Brooklyn. In closing, this is why I've all but abandoned table service, while opting to sit at the bar. There has simply been a decline in service standards over the past decade that's appalling. In years of yore, one ran to the outer boroughs to escape the pretentiousness and attitude of Manhattan. Nowadays, it confounds me to say the opposite is true. Geesh! read more

Some pros about the place is , it looks beautiful inside , the drinks are good & the music is at a volume where you can hear it but still hear yourself talk. I don't know about this one. I mean the place was nice and quaint. Pretty big bar, but no tv's. And NO Heineken! Don't believe in bars not having Heini, but I didn't come to drink. So I had their fried shrimp which was good. Light on the seasoning, and coated with corn meal which I like. But they lacked something pizzaz? Flavor? Not sure. Had the snow crab and I wasn't impressed. They weren't bad just no flavor. And let's face it, I need old bay cooked with the crab. Not a speck of it. Cluster was white as a sheet. Crabs were also a bit overcooked. Some were mushy inside, and the shell bent, didn't snap open. that sauce they serve, the girl told me it was garlic butter, but it was a orange/yellow concoction that didn't taste right. Something besides butter and garlic. Like some kind of cheese or cream. I asked cor some regular drawn butter which I got. But after the first cluster I didn't want anymore. The sauce was over everything but the crab. It did make the corn taste exceptional. Service was very good. The girl continuously checked on me. I'll go back and try something else.
