I'm a huge fan of the original Peaches and the Peaches Hot House, so I was so glad to finally try the Peaches Shrimp and Crab location. My party of 7 arrived for lunch on a weekday around 4pm. The restaurant wasn't crowded so we were seated right away. I have to give a special thank you to the management here. They were so accommodating and helpful when it came to getting my 80 year old grandmother seated comfortably. We also had an infant with a stroller, which isn't always the easiest to dine with, but Peaches management made it very seamless for us. The food was really a delight. We were a little apprehensive because we would have preferred to order from the dinner menu, but the brunch menu did not disappoint. One of the standout dishes I tried was the fried green tomatoes! Those are definitely a must try. The rice bowls were also a hit at our table. The blue crab spaghetti was overwhelmingly crabby. I guess that's not a bad thing if you really enjoy crab, but it didn't suit my taste buds. The fried chicken was cooked spot on with a perfect crispy layer of skin. Peaches Shrimp and Crab remains tucked away in my bookmarks. I have been here a couple times to get my fix of crab legs. Parking isn't too bad... I tend to get lucky and snag one right across the street. We are always promptly seated upon arrival and welcomed by our server who is super friendly. I usually zero in on the crab legs on the menu and all the other items become nonexistent except for the Calamari which might be the shining star of the starters. It is fried crispy and goes down well with a light cole slaw, some arugula salad and seasoned mayo accompaniments. The Crab Legs Boil is a platter of well-seasoned crab legs, corn and red potatoes in a garlic butter sauce that comes with a generous helping of the sauce on the side for dipping. You don't even need to spend the additional $3 for sausage. The Jim Cade Boil which is mostly mussels with clams, shrimp and the same amount of crab legs as my order. The lobster ziti, burger entree and Caesar salad didn't wow my friends either. I'm always leery of punches but their Brownstone Punch hits the SPOT! If you are in the area definitely stop in... they give you a decent amount of seafood for the price and it always tastes fresh. read more

I really enjoyed my experience at Peaches & will definitely be back! Our waiter was the sweetest and most accommodating server I've had in a while. He was patient with us while ordering drinks and even went above by bringing me samples of wine (I was being indecisive, lol!) We ordered the Parmesan Truffle Garlic Bread and Octopus for the table. The garlic bread was definitely the winning appetizer! I settled on the Blue Crab Spaghetti, while my friends each went for the Long Island Whiting Sandwich and Jerk Salmon Rice Bowl. The Whiting Fish was well seasoned! The Jerk Salmon was also pretty good. However, the Blue Crab Spaghetti.......AMAZING! Now I understand why it is one of their top sellers and why out waiter urged me to try it. This was my lunch experience To start I had a mango margarita which was just okay could have been better I guess depending on the grade of alcohol used in it. 1-5 it was a 2.5 - 3 For appetizer I ordered the Brooklyn wings which was great I did ask for blue cheese which they do not carry however they did give me more Alabama drizzle which did the job. For entree I ordered the toast & chicken which was EXCELLENT!!! Ask for more syrup and your set! Food: 5 Service: 3 Saw this place on the Travel Channel on an episode of Food Paradise and had to visit. The food didn't disappoint. Highly recommend the blue crab spaghetti, seafood boil, and fried chicken. I know, seems a little funny to have fried chicken at a predominantly seafood restaurant, but trust me, it's absolute perfection. Portions are a good size and I shared everything family style, which worked out well. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is for service. No one came back to check on our table after our food was dropped off. We also asked the waiter to add sausage to our crab boil. We got the crab with no sausage but then were still charged for it. And then at the end, we had to get up from the table to ask for our check. And then once more to pay because no one came back. Restaurant was pretty empty because it was late. There was a bizarre snaffu where the waiter accidentally put our credit card in his pants pocket instead of running it through the machine... not quite sure how or why that happened... but aside from poor service, the food is great and still worth a visit. read more

Since my original review, I have eaten at Peaches Shrimp and Crab twice more. Always brunch (after a volunteer project in the vicinity). From eggs benedict and griddle mains to various egg scrambles and their signature dish--shrimp with grits, this restaurant is a crowd pleaser. Today, I ordered the egg scramble with smoked salmon accompanied by a side salad and rustic bread lightly buttered. So delicious. There are also non breakfast items such as wings, burgers and sandwiches. Their ambiance is endearing and service is always en pointe. Mainly, the food is just so very delicious and done right. I'm anxious to visit for dinner hopefully soon. When/if in Clinton Hill, make it a point to visit. You'll be glad you did. read more

I lamented so when Marrieta closed for renovation. Well they re opened with a new name. Same owners, menu emphasizes seafood more than Marietta. Still good wine selection, Grits and Shrimp tasting and suprisingly delicate. Salmon and whitefish salad board served w challah toast, tomato w onion & capers, a dab of sour cream on the side. Brunch at 3pm on a Saturday is one of my all time favorite things and I throughly enjoyed it here. This place is great for large groups and small parties. I was in a party of two and we were first sat on a side of the restaurant that accommodated large parties. They were a little too loud for me and our server was able to move us to the other side of the restaurant which was a much better fit for us because you couldn't hear the large parties but could hear the great music. We started out with rum punch and the Brooklyn wings. The rum punch was a little too thick for me but boozy which I appreciate. The wings were by far my favorite thing I had, I would order them as a meal next time. They were juicy, flavorful and covered in wing sauce with a drizzle of ranch. I had the Long Island Whiting Sandwich with shoestring fries and coleslaw. The portion was huge, enough to feed two people easily. The fish was fried and seasoned well and I just needed a little fresh lemon to set it off. The fries were great but the coleslaw was not for me. I like a creamier type of coleslaw and this one was more vinegar based. My partner had the crab cakes eggs Benedict on brioche toast and it was delicious. The crab cake was huge and fresh and the brioche toast was so sweet it melts in your mouth. We had a great experience and would go back to try other things! read more

I had a great experience here. I enjoyed the browstone cocktail with the fried chicken. Although I'm not sure that it is extra fancy as they've claimed, it is absolutely delicious. Wanting to try something new and not go to my go to spot, I came to my favorite app (Yelp!!!) and searched for seafood in Brooklyn. As I sat and looked through all of the menus and pics, there was something about Peaches that stood out to me... probably the price. lol. Significantly cheaper than all of the other places I was looking at. From the photos, I already had my mind set on the Jim Cade boil. As soon as I walked in, I noticed some folks at a different table had it. And they were sharing it! The pictures don't do it justice. It's large enough to share with one other person. So my meal was even cheaper than I had anticipated. 3 large crab clusters, about 10-12 shrimp, an abundance of mussels, corn and potatoes (which we didn't even finish). Happy hour until 7, I believe. I had a business project in Clinton Hill on Friday. I was supposed to meet someone at 12:00 but he calls and says "can we move it to 1:00?". Keep in mind that this project includes a big favor for this guy. I'll get back to this jerk later. OK might as well have lunch. So I come across this little cafe and the maitre' d comes outside and entices me to come in for lunch, ala Little Italy. I'm in and ready to order. The Tiger Shrimp Rice Bowl sounds good so that's my order. Lunch comes pretty quickly which is always worth a star for me. And the shrimp were good size, I would say jumbo or 16-18's. I finish, ask for my check and I'm off. This is the kind of place I like. Good food, good service, and a nice atmosphere. I would have hung around for a drink but I did have that 1:00 appointment, which BTW, the jerk doesn't show up for. Instead I meet the property owner and finish this deal in quick order. Oh remember this was going to be a favor, SURE. Well at least I found a great place to eat and if I'm back in Clinton Hill I'll eat there again. My coworkers and I took our supervisor here for her birthday celebration on a Friday evening. We made reservations and I have to say the young lady who placed them was kind and full of information ! When we arrived the restaurant was fairly empty, we had to wait a while for a few late comers in our party so we did have a bit of a wait but we were seated while waiting. I was thirsty and decided to pour some water from the reused bottle placed on our table. As I'm pouring what looked like a black/gray dust particle came out the bottle. Now this wasn't a small piece of dust but a good size which led me to believe they don't wash their bottles and that the water was sitting out in the open. We let the waitress know and she apologized and removed the bottle. Most of the bottles on our table weren't clear and after the dust incident I refused to drink their water. I ordered the pineapple juice but wasn't impressed it tasted like regular can Dole. Also the water was room temperature slightly annoying but moving on. Most of our party arrives and we order our food I had the lobster roll with bacon, I believe avocado and tomato. It was good but the bread could not hold the sandwich and the bottom part of the bun was soggy. The French fries were also lukewarm which led be to believe they may have been sitting there a bit. Overall it was cool though. My supervisor ordered a shrimp boil and as she was eating she realized they didn't devein the shrimp now I am aware everyone prepares their food differently but this was a surprise. When we questioned the waitress about it she seemed confused and nonchalantly stated that this was normal and that's how they prepared their shrimp. Gross if you ask me but I wasn't the one eating it. It was also in the fried shrimp. Overall I am definitely not coming back here the dust in the water and unclean shrimp makes me question them as a whole. I took my mother here as she'd previously recommended it. Let me start with saying the ambiance and service were nice. My issue is that the food was honestly laughable. Ordered a series of dishes including the grilled octopus, cornbread, fried chicken and Mac & cheese. Grilled octopus came out Luke warm at best with no flavor. The cornbread was downright COLD leaning towards frozen. We returned the cornbread 3 times and each time it came back it was still cold. After the third time we just told them to keep it. Drinks were also watered down. Mac and Cheese was cold and soggy and basically inedible. The side salad that came with the fried chicken was the best thing on the menu as the fried chicken also was way more fried than flavored despite it being "fancy" All in all I would not recommend this place. I had the snow crab leg entree which comes with succulently seasoned snow crab legs, corn, potatoes and got sausage added for $3 extra. Came here for an early birthday breakfast on a weekday in mid January. We were the first guests as it just opened. Ordered eggs/cheese + sausage + French toast + grits. It was my first time having grits and it was good, not outstanding. It had no salt but I guess the Parmesan cheese was to serve as the salt element. However, when I did not bite into the parts that had Parmesan cheese it was bland. People hype up grits and I swallowed this one thinking, "so this is it?" I THINK the eggs were powder and meh, don't care for those. But it was good and the added cheese was a bonus. The French toast was sugary, which was something different for me. I normally don't have sugary foods/drinks so I was being a little daring here. It was really good. Also they say you can substitute, but it's at a cost which wasn't mentioned. Outside seating: If you are looking for a romantic outside atmosphere - this is one of the secret places. We were enjoying ourselves on a weekend sitting in a sunny spot eating crab pasta with Cava wine after a Kale salad. My partner also ordered a lobster dish. It was lovely! The staff: The staff is friendly and called us with a tender words, my love, after they asked us what else we might like to order. We felt special and welcomed. Peaches served it's purpose: I really needed to eat because I was feeling lightheaded. I arrived as one person and sat at the bar. Service from the bartender was minimal. She spoke at a tone way softer than the music playing (which wasn't that loud) so I had to lean in to hear what she was saying. She didn't ask me how my meal was, so paying her a tip was customary but not for anything service wise. The brunch menu had half the items as advertised online. Everything was also a dollar more. Does it make a huge difference? Pricewise no. But l don't understand how this is Peaches Shrimp and Crab and the only menu item that contained shrimp was a basic version of shrimp and grits and no items included crab. 'Shrimp and Grits' is one of my favorite meals, it's easy to say that I've had way better. I also may need help figuring out what "Tiger Shrimp" are because the shrimp provided were just your average shrimp. Overall, the dish could have used way more flavor. And I really think they have some nerve charging almost $7 for those basic grits. Not too good of a value. The nice thing about Peaches S&C is that they had a really homey feel. You could tell there were many regulars that were familiar with the bartenders. The wine glasses appeared to be nice and full and people wore smiles all around. Came here for date night on a Sunday around 7ish pm. Had a nice crowd but we did not have to wait for a table. My date is tall 6+ feet and those small tables side by side are a lil tight for him and anyone next to him wanting wanting some leg room lls. But it was not as tight/claustrophobic as some other place we have been. Our server was very soft spoken could hardly hear him so I dont really know if he was nice or not...lol...jjs!! Our server was timely and all of our orders came out perfectly. I got the shrimp and grits and it was delicious grits stay creamy and light the whole time did not turn to paste A+. Shrimp were seasoned and very tasty. My date got the Jerked Salmon he enjoyed it, but wished they put a lil oli/vinaigrette or something on all that dry roughage but we know what to ask for when we come back. The restaurant has a light wood interior and a beautiful full bar. The one time I went I felt like my waiter could have been more attentive. His greeting was very rushed I almost didn't even hear him. I had to ask "huh?" Then he didn't do well with answering of questions or even suggestions. I get it the menu is an easy read but a little more personality from some of the staff would be nice. The wings on the brunch menu were very tasted, could have been cooked longer but whatever the sauce is it's amazing. My fiancée and I took my mother to Peaches for Mother's Day, well the day before Mother's Day. Honestly it's was the day before Mother's Day, and ironically enough there still was a wait. Apparently any party of 4 or more had to wait. Which meant I was in luck, wrong! It was packed. They did however have a table for two and as a result, they asked me if I didn't mind seating by the window at a table for two. Which mean I was seat on the windowsill as an add on to a small two seated table. Guess what, I accepted. But aside from the seating, the service decent and food was really good. We started with the fried shrimp, which was awesome. I wanted to avoid the fried food but the problem with that shrimp is that you just can't just try one. It's so tasty, you'll want more. For dinner I had the blue crab spaghetti, which contains lumps of crab, tomatoes, Chile's, parsley and breadcrumbs; and I must say was absolutely delicious. Everything on the spaghetti went together perfectly like a everything bagel. My fiancé had the shrimp and grits, in which she also praised how appetizing it is. My mother had the lobster baked ziti, which she truly enjoyed. I had the opportunity to taste it, and it was just as delicious as the blue crab spaghetti. So many options to try. Some of the food has entirely too much salt. I had the Turkey Meatloaf and it had some much salt that I had to throw it away. I also ordered the broccoli and it was cooked in too much oil and too much red pepper flakes. I couldn't eat it also. A waste of money. Very disappointed. read more
