Lively and crowded on a Friday night. Found a single seat at the bar and caught the barkeep's attention so I got served quickly. Many fresh fish and shellfish options. All looked good; enjoyed the barramundi (Asian sea bass) with asparagus and mashed potatoes. The serving of fish was a little small for the price but perfectly done and very tasty. Added on a house salad which was bigger than expected. Full bar with decent selection of beer, wine, liquor. Parking on-site. Pleasantly surprised with this restaurant. Nice open dinning floor with lots of high tops but some low tables as well. Got seated immediately on a Friday at 1pm. Shopping center traffic was bad as this was just before Christmas. Enjoyed the calamari which I would rate as very good and a bowl of clam chowder which was very hearty and loaded with flavor and clams. For entrees we had the lunch fresh fish artic char and mahi-mahi served with a good portion of mashed potatoes and asparagus. All very delicious. As a Lee's Summit resident, I'm embarrassed to admit I had yet to try Pearl Tavern until today. Thankfully, I think it was well worth the wait! My family and I visited for a birthday celebration on a Monday night during Happy Hour. The food and drink were incredible, but more importantly our server, Gerome, was awesome! He led us through the menu, gave us recommendations between options we were thinking about as well as was personable and attentive. We had a wide variety of happy hour menu items and regular dinner items and all 5 of us enjoyed our meals. I recommend the fresh fish special (I had swordfish and my brother had the barramundi--both delicious!). My husband and I will be returning soon to hopefully have a similarly enjoyable experience! read more

Went with hubby an two teens, trying something new. Felt really sorry for everyone who's table was by the front door it was windy and cold, not to mention theres no waiting area so people crowd your table. Hostesses seemed to have very little idea what to do or were super overwhelmed no it wasn't very busy at all. Hubby and I decided to go all in for once and get this cold seafood platter said to feed 4-6, we asked the server if it was alot of food she said yes, kids ordered fried shrimp platter, kids food came out pretty fast, the server said they apparently didn't know how to put this tray together, guess no one orders it.. and it would be a bit, she offered our kids a desert to eat so they weren't waiting on us once it came, I said "I don't care if they wait they already have food, we want to eat why don't you bring us something. " She didn't.. about 20 minutes later our food platter shows up, not too bad, but obviously the crab and lobster we previously frozen not fresh and the oysters so so a bit gritty, the shrimp was good. Once done we again spoke to the server about how this was said to feed 4-6 and we are still starving, only hubby and I ate this, and ask that perhaps they could throw us a bowl of soup, still didn't get it, so we asked for the manager. She came over and we discussed our frustrations, she stated this item is apparently an appetizer (listed as a cold item on menu) we argued miss leading menu and that we felt we should be full for $90, yes $90.. and all they needed to do at this point was send us home with soup, it would make us feel better. Nope she decided to say "I guess we will agree to disagree " Why? Your menu is misleading... anywho.. after the worthless dispute I close with, this all could have been avoided by giving us some soup, at this point the manager says, "oh you want some soup I'll get that for you" WTH.. so over it now, no loogie soup for us..THANKS. needless to say we won't be back. read more

This restaurant is a delightful food find. Especially finding fish and seafood at happy hour prices! Husband loved IPA beer from St Louis; he is no help remembering the name. We were in like with oysters. I had mussels chorizo with garlic toast yum yum. Also, flaky, tasteful halibut with mashed potato and roasted asparagus. Happy to say that my second visit was a great success! All the issues I had experienced my first visit had been worked out, as I suspected they would. The signature smash cocktails are really tasty and the oysters were fresh! Be sure to check out the chocolate chess pie! I loved it! Looking forward to dining here again soon! This is exactly the kind of place that Lee's Summit needed. Besides Red Lobster (not a fan) there wasn't a great seafood place close. Although they have only been open a few weeks our first experience was flawless. The fish and seafood were fresh! The service was fantastic. The overall experience was awesome!! Make sure you have a reservation unless you want to sit at the bar, or come in after 9pm, they are super booked! I would order off the fresh fish menu, lots of great seasonal choices (salmon and sea scallops were good choices). Also, the oysters were really good and we tried the hush puppies as an app. Um, the sauce that comes with those, so good. Will be going back soon!! read more

wanted to find a nice local seafood place, gave it a try with the girlfriend. definitely a pub vibe with tables just a little too close together for my liking. the food overall was extremely bland. they had also run out of the three appetizers we wanted to try when we arrived at around 5:30pm. price was good for the dishes though. overall the biggest killer was service, after finishing our food and being maybe 1 of 5 parties left there, it took over 20 minutes from the time our waiter said he was getting our check, to us actually getting it, then close to another 10 minutes to get it back. read more

A nice variety of fish and seafood options. For starters I love the Hot Peel n Eat Shrimp, Blackened Shrimp Tacos, or Blue Crab Dip. All excellent choices with lots of flavor and there are plenty of other appetizers to choose from. Fresh fish is offered daily from a printed list. Pearl Tavern has something for everyone: I've had several entrees and they are all great. The Tavern Po Boy, Crab Cakes, Fish n Chips, Lobster Roll are all wonderful choices. Pleasantly surprised by the wonder ambience and warm atmosphere of this restaurant. Our hostess and waiter were so helpful during in helping us with selections as it was our first visit. I ordered the chopped salad with salmon. When the orders arrived everyone selection was wonderful. Serving size was large enough to take half home. The dressing was flavorful as he salmon was packed with bold seasoning. My friends both ordered desert which both were HUGE slices of pie with no complaints. Love this place it was AWESOME! We tried a little bit of everything. All the food was superb! I had the blacken salmon and it was mouthing watering. The blue crab dip was great! The corn and lobster side was OMG GOOD! The little bread was perfect and so tasty, such a lovely touch. The staff were friendly and fast. Ceviche The Pearl used to be our favorite Happy Hour destination. We took friends there yesterday and were quite disappointed and embarrassed, after all the bragging we'd been doing on The Pearl. The ceviche was at least half tomato sauce and onions; the calamari had 5 small pieces of calamari in the bowl- then a good 3/4 cup of crumbs at the bottom. The wine (house cab) was sent back. Malbec and Pinot drinkable, but not as good as before Covid. The fries were not up to their usual hot and crispy (half were cold). The oysters, Guinness, and blackened shrimp tacos were still excellent, and those saved the evening! Seems the quantities and certainly quality of many items have truly suffered from the Pandemic. I hope this gem for Lee's Summit can rise to its previous high standards- And soon!!! read more

The ambiance is great, decor is cute, and menu pairings are well done...however execution of the dishes fell short of minimally mediocre at best. Ok. Had a chance at the happy hour menu. For being an abbreviated menu, it had plenty of variety. And since sea food can be pricy, I appreciated the when walking in and the receptionist suggesting that since we were still in the happy hour window. The drinks were good. The wife had some strawberry thing with triple sec. it was pretty good. But what kicker it was the shrimp tacos. They were very tasty and the jicama slaw topper gave the tacos crunch without aftertaste that would have detracted from the aioli drizzled shrimp. Kudos to the flavor. Had Pearl Poutine which was a French Fry concoction with bacon, onions, cheese and a chowder. It was filling and tasty. No complaint and two mixed drinks, one beer and the food for less than $35.00. Very nice seafood restuarant. I've been twice, and both times the food was delicious. The shrimp in the shrimp basket are huge, and so filling. Only reason for 4 stars in stead of 5 is that you have to sit at the high top tables to participate in happy hour. High top chairs hurt my back. Also, I came with a pregnant friend who also stated she would be uncomfortable. It would be nice if you can participate in happy hour without sitting on the high chairs. read more

Took our daughter here for brunch on her 20th birthday. My initial impression of the restaurant was that it had an upscale feel and ambiance. The service was great and our server was very attentive, but the food and prices were less than impressive. I moved to Missouri last year from California and I have been to many upscale seafood restaurants. I felt the quality of the food was less than average and the freshness was terrible. My wife and I ordered the lobster roll. The lobster was definitely not fresh! The crunchy fried onion topping was a bit odd on any lobster roll I have ever eaten from my numerous trips to the cape. My daughter ordered the Tavern Boil which was over cooked. Finally, the prices are very high considering the lack of quality, quantity, and sadly less than fresh as one might expect. Might I suggest going to the Red Lobster instead of the Pearl Tavern. You will save money and get the same quality of food. read more

I only go to Pearl for Happy Hour, first off, but we've visited probably a dozen times. One of the best food happy hours in town. $1 oysters, great wings, crab dip is good but small, but the blackened shrimp tacos are phenomenal! Drinks specials are pretty good. I'd like to see them have a bit bigger of a tap selection, or maybe better specials on craft bottles/cans. I love that there is a guy behind the oyster bar freshly shucking oysters. I have seen 2-3 different guys doing that job and all of them are passionate about their seafood! My only complaint with Pearl would be the price point, which is why I only come during happy hour. At the price point their at, the décor inside should be a lot nicer IMO. The tables are really bunched together, not very intimate at all. Perfect for happy hour and bar scene, but I wouldn't want to spend that much on a date just to have the next table sitting on my lap. read more

The fresh rainbow Trout was excellent. It was done grilled and great portions. The mashed potatoes were yummy and broccoli great.

I took my daughter (7) here for lunch. It was nice to see kids items that made her happy. She wavered between the kids grilled salmon and a cheeseburger but ultimately the salmon lost out. I tried the $1 oysters on the half shell and a bowl of lobster mac&cheese. Very happy with the oysters. My daughter even braved up to try one. It was nice to see they had all of my favorite oyster hot sauces to choose from. The lobster mac&cheese was a long shot since it's not a favorite of mine but I did enjoy the version that Pearl served. Pricing was ok considering the menu. The only negative was how the seating is arranged. The seats bunched together along the wall pretty much guarantees that my father-in-law will never eat here. He said it looks like a cafeteria. Hearing the private conversations of those dining next to us, even if they whispered, was a bit of a turn off. At one point I had to distract my daughter so that she would not hear something inappropriate. The same menu offered at the Summit Grill location would be a nicer arrangement. read more

The current menu was excellent for seafood as I had heard & the reason I went there. The pricing was reasonable for the quantity provided & the food itself was excellent.
