It's funny how every time I take my Honda here something goes wrong within a few weeks. I've always went to Honda dealers, the people are friendly but clearly don't perform inspections as they should. Serviced my oil change on 4/15 and said my transmission fluid is in good condition. Less than a month later check engine light comes on, run the code at autozone and it points to transmission. I check the fluid and it is completely black....hmm didn't they just check this three weeks ago? I will not be going back. They are very difficult to get you in the shop. I was told I could drop it off on a Wednesday but they wouldn't be able to get to it until the following Monday. Meanwhile, plenty of other reputable mechanics are willing to take my business read more

If I could give the sales department a "0" rating I would. We came up to pick up our new 2020 CRV Touring Hybrid car after leaving a $500 deposit. We had a written contract that Nelson wrote up with the offer stating our trade in would be "$4,000 if running or $3,000 if not running" for our Tahoe. I had the alternator repaired and we drove over with the Tahoe. At that point, all was well and they had taken off the plates, etc and prepping the new car. Then, Nelson comes over and says he can't honor the offer of the trade-in because there were scratches on the side of the doors and some paint chipping by the hatch. I had sent him 17 pics of the car beforehand - he made the offer after looking at all the pictures (of which there were pics of the doors and hatch, etc). Secondly, he cut out the salesman we had been working with. Beyond unprofessional. He reneged on the deal so we took our $500 back. Two days later, we went to Colonial Honda and purchased our CRV there. They were awesome. I have told everyone I know NOT to go there and conveyed by story of horrific C/S and to date, everyone has heeded my advice and gone to Colonial where C/S is awesome. Shame on you Pearson! If you love your Honda take it here for all its maintenance. The west broad location sucks...bad. The colonial heights location is so-so but this location on hull street is just impressive. Nathan Almond at Pearson Honda helped me purchase a brand new 2014 Honda Accord EX-L and he couldn't have been more patient and professional. I never felt 'pushed' or rushed. My last Honda had been a new 1989 Honda Civic, and the cars have come a very long way since! Nathan went out of his way to show me all the new upgrades and to answer all my questions; he made the whole process very easy. When I went to pick up the new car, he spent 1 1/2 hours to train me on how everything worked so that I would feel completely comfortable when I pulled off the lot. I went into this dealership today with my brother. A salesman approached us, never introduced himself or asked us our names. My brother asked him if they had any Accord hybrids or coupes on the lot. The salesman said yes very rudely, then we had to ask where, so he pointed at a general direction. He was so incredibly rude, he kept his distance from us and wouldn't engage us in conversation. We felt very uncomfortable around him and he completely ruined our car buying experience at Honda. We had to ask to see inside the car and he made that into a huge ordeal. His name was Greg Gohlke. Luckily we went down the road to Toyota and had an amazing experience. I don't know if all the Honda salespeople are like Greg, but i recommend staying away from him. We started out rough on this visit in that we were not approached on the lot while looking at the car we wanted to test drive or in the store when we went through the front door. People were all around including two receptionist but no one looked at us, much less spoke to us. We were there to buy, not look, so that was frustrating. We had determined to walk out and go elsewhere. Fortunately, Marty, the Internet Sales Manager, caught us just as we had hit the front door and asked if we had been helped. That is when the visit started to turn around. Marty sent Frank Goodman to work with us and Frank was great to work with. A real gem. He listened to us and took the time to explain the features of the 2018 Fit. He didn't try to steer us to another vehicle after he learned we wanted a small sub-compact because that is the size that the primary driver was most comfortable with. He took time to talk about the safety features as we showed interest in those. He made sure the test drive was a comfortable experience and calmly explained about the gear ratio, vehicle handling, and how the safety features worked in practice. After we got back to the store we had determined that we wanted the vehicle. Frank, I am sure, sensed this and worked as an advocate for the buying process. We did end up home with the Fit and the overall buying experience turned out to be really good. Our three previous purchases have all been with Hyundai so this was a big change for us. Frank and the team made this a pleasurable buying experience and it all goes back to Marty approaching and talking to us. I don't understand how a customer can hit a lot and even the showroom without being approached but Marty's stepping in and honesty with us saved the day. Frank Goodman is a great person so if you can when you visit Pearson Honda, say hello to Marty and ask for Frank. Thanks! read more

I've got to say that this is the best Honda dealership in the Richmond area. I remember when I was buying my car that the sales people at Pearson were truly genuine and were very professional. Before going to Pearson, I went to Colonial Honda in Colonial Heights, and my experience there was terrible. The sales people at Colonial Honda were very rude and did not fight at all to get me to buy a car from them. Pearson did everything to get me to buy a car from them. I have a 2008 Honda Accord, and I've been bringing my car here to have it serviced. The service at this place is amazing! They always look out for you and never try to rip you off. They're very honest, and that goes a long way in my book. Lucky for me, this place is conveniently located 5 minutes away from my house. I highly recommend Pearson Honda for people looking to buy a new Honda or for people looking for a great and reliable place to have their Honda serviced at. 5 stars in my book! read more

Have brought my MDX here several times for service, because it's close to my home. Staff is never friendly. Last time I picked up my car, the cashier handed me a ticket and told me my car was outside. I walked around the entire parking lot, unable to find my car. One of the service people saw me and advised me that someone would bring me my car. Cashier never explained that to me. No one apologized. Have never had this type of service at Crown Acura. Will make the joke to the west end, because they know how to treat their customers. read more

Five star establishment! I've rarely had a bad experience at a Honda dealership in all my years of owning Honda's, but this one ranks at the top! My family and I were one third the way through a 1300 mile trip to Florida when our van starting making a noise. I was concerned for our safety so I showed up on a Saturday at opening with no appointment and asked them if they could check the car over before we continued on with our road trip. They were inundated with repair orders, but Scott, our advisor, took my car anyway. In under two hours, they had thoroughly inspected the car and found no areas in need of repair. We were incredibly grateful for their help and the added peace of mind, but were shocked when they comped it as a courtesy! I am happy to report we made it safely to our destination with no other noises. I was also impressed with the waiting area and sales floor; it's a beautiful business! If I lived near Midlothian, VA, I'd definitely use this dealership for all my Honda service and repair, but since I don't, I'd like to at least pass along my appreciation in this review. read more

Car shopping is not my idea of a good time, and after dealing with another Honda dealership in the area I was ready to move on to another make and model, but my experience with Pearson could not have been better. Scott Reyes was extremely helpful and dealt with me fairly. He took the time to explain every gadget included with my 2016 Civic (and there are a lot). I would also like to thank Tyler in the finance department who made what is probably the most painful part of the car buying experience rather easy. This is honestly the worst dealership I've ever been to in my life. Traded my 2013 Honda Civic in for a 2013 Jeep Wrangler. I took it home and my dad looked under the hood for me and saw it had not even a drop of oil in it or antifreeze so I drove 3 hours home with no fluids so I told them that they told me that to bring it back and they would take a look at everything for me which I appreciated but still should've all been done before I drove the jeep off the lot and before I left the dealership I had noticed it had a crack in the windshield when I went to drive it off the lot which they said to bring back and they would replace windshield which was fine so keep in mind I live three hours away from this dealership so I finally bring it back to them to replace the windshield they tell me it's gonna take three hours to replace the windshield so I wait out there all day for them to finally replace the windshield and it was not the correct windshield that was in the jeep before it was a cheap/knock off windshield so I told them it wasn't the right one and they were trying to rip me off well I had to come back out there 7 days later for them to put in the right windshield I have been back and forth to this place about 4 or 5 times. Not only did all this happen they waited until a month after my due date on my car to pay it off so now it's on my credit report history as me making a late car payment when the car was no longer mine and I'm being penalized for it when I addressed this situation to Pearson honda they didn't seem to care so I don't suggest going there to buy or trade in a vehicle very unhappy with their service. read more

I recently had my oil and filter changed at Pearson Honda. I was pleased with the price, cleanliness of the facility, and friendliness of the workers. It was recommended to me to have my spark plugs changed and check the valve adjustment for $450. I was in shock at the price so I questioned the price. The mechanic told me that the spark plugs were $35 each and that installing them was labor intensive. He said it would take 4 hours. I went to a local mechanic who did the work for $203! I think I would have been taken advantage of because I am a senior citizen and I can't work on my car for myself. Shame on you for this! read more

I have never written a review for an automobile dealer, but I feel I really need to let everyone know about my recent amazing experience purchasing a new SUV at Pearson Honda in Midlothian. Over the past 20 years, I have purchase 5 new vehicles and each time before I was disappointed with the whole car buying and negotiating experience. Mr. Charles Carr at Pearson Honda provided a completely different experience and I highly recommend anyone looking for a new vehicle to go see him before buying a car somewhere else. From the moment I met him on the lot, he was extremely courteous, professional, and treated me with respect. I explained to him that I was not sure I would buy a vehicle, but wanted to look at one, test drive it, and find out what the bottom line was on the vehicle price. Charles thoroughly answered every question I presented about the vehicle, to include my inquiries about how his Honda SUV compared to similar vehicles from other manufacturers. I never felt an ounce of pressure from him to buy a vehicle and when I mentioned I might look at other dealers for a similar vehicle, he said he understood my interest in getting the best bargain. Having done a lot of research and comparison shopping at other dealers, I truly appreciated being presented with what I knew was a fair price without a lot of haggling. While I don't expect to be looking for another vehicle in the near term, Pearson Honda will be my first stop when I am. The new SUV is great, but the service at the dealership, especially from Mr. Carr, was the highlight of my experience. read more

I went in to look at a used Subaru they had for sale. The asking price was over $1000 more than Kelley Blue Book, and over $2000 more than Edmunds at excellent condition prices. I figured it would be no big deal, they would probably be willing to haggle down to the fair price, especially since the car had been sitting on the lot for a while. Drove the car with a mechanic friend (didn't tell them he was a mechanic). Drove alright, but apparently there is either a broken wheel baring or problems with the rear brakes due to it locking wheels without the e-brake engaged. Brought it back and looked at the exterior closely. Chunk of paint dinged out of a door with the metal underneath rusting, plus normal wear and tear to the rest of the car. Again, I figured it would be okay, we'll negotiate. Went inside to check over the work orders for what they'd done to the car, and talk price. I told the salesman the prices from KBB and Edmunds, and before I could finish, he was shaking his head telling me those prices didn't matter because of what it had cost them for the clutch etc. I told him I was looking more at those ranges and he told me the car was in too good condition to meet those prices. Basically he was not willing to move at all from the inflated asking price. Let me ask you something Pearson: if I put a new clutch in my trade-in car, would you give me $1000 above book value in trade in? I don't think so. It's absolutely unacceptable for you to expect that of me. If the book values mean nothing, then why do they exist? The car wasn't even in as good of condition as I had looked up prices for. Not to mention the fact that your salesman was not friendly in the least, nor was he willing to budge from an obviously too high price. I walked in ready to fork out a lot of money, and walked out and will never return. read more

Our experience with this dealership was very nice. We had went to other dealerships, Pence Nissan and Kia. At Pence Nissan, no one would come out and talk with us. We were on the lot for about 45 minutes looking at several new cars. At Pence Kia, the salesman can out and told us we would be interested in a Subaru Legacy, but he had sold out and did not have any on the lot. At Pearson Hyundai, we were on the lot and in a field where they stored there new vehicles for over an hour. Again, no one ever approached us. At Pearson Honda, we were not on the lot for three minutes when a salesman approached us and gave us his name and told us if we needed help, just let him know. He left us alone while we looked for the model we were looking for. There were no pressure sales and the entire experience was pleasant. read more

We purchased a used truck for our son which was supposed to given to him on his birthday. The truck was purchased on Sunday June 17, 2018, We had the truck delivered to my work so we could keep the truck a surprise. I drove the truck for the first time on Thursday June 21, 2018, after driving the truck less than 50 miles the drivers side rear brake began "locking up" to the point the truck had to be towed to another "shop" for repairs. I contacted PEARSON HONDA because the truck had just been through SERVICE and had a VA STATE SAFETY INSPECTION completed. While service was polite they did nothing to help with the payment for repairs or towing. I would have thought that a dealership such as PEARSON HONDA would have done something to try and make this issue right, perhaps because I reside out of state the thought process was I would not be a repeat customer or utilize them for service. Which I can assure you I will not. read more

I bought a used 2005 Accord that only came with one key. Was told I had to get another from a Honda Dealer because the key had to be programmed. I called Pearson Honda and was told the same thing and was advised I needed to schedule an appointment because they needed the car and it would take an hour. I scheduled the appointment and arrived early to avoid any chance of a delay. I asked again how long it would take and was told an hour. One hour and 40 minutes later I had to ask what was happening with the key and was told they were having computer issues and it shouldn't be much longer. Another 40 minutes passed and I had to ask again what was happening. It took them 2 1/2 hours to do something I was told would only take 1 hour. If you are working on a tight time line, like I was, don't trust what they tell you. Short of there being a problem with the key they made I WILL NOT use their service again. read more
