    The owner made hot sauce

When it comes to coffee I like to try different varieties of coffee and for me it's my new jam is the mushroom coffee. Pebbles Cafe in Glen Park Village has the magical mushroom coffee boost. The Chagaccino coffee contains cacao, chago, cinnamon , and vanilla. Pebbles is a Brazilian establishment which those who know Brazil is the #1 producer of coffee in the world it produces about 40% of the world's coffee( Vietnam is #2 just to let you know ). The Chagaccino is not too sweet for sure and is more on roasted side which has a traditional coffee flavor. This is also a good place to grab my favorite superfood the Acai bowl. My go to Acai bowl is the Zico it has strawberries , and Acai strawberry blend, blackberries, blueberries, peanut butter and walnuts and I go to town (city) when I have this Acai bowl in front of me. The not too sweet juicy fruits with the savory smooth peanut butter makes this bowl so divine . Each bite is a delight. The Acai bowls here have different variety of flavors are all worth trying and have a strong kick ( most of the Acai bowls are named after soccer players). This is also the place where can get a tuna sandwich under $10 and a tuna melt with cheese for under $10 ( a value in San Francisco). They do have a secret sauce available and made by the owner. They offer a Peruvian hot sauce which is good to put on chicken. This is a great place to grab a Acai bowl , coffee, sandwich , and smoothie. This place is golden and shines like World Cup trophy . Come to Pebbles Cafe for the hard kicking Acai bowl After a few bites and sips of the organic mushroom coffee your mind and soul well be saying " Goal"

    Cute Brazilian cafe

Cute Brazilian cafe with local flavors right by Glen bart station. Our car was being serviced for the day so we took bsrt to Glen stop and wanted to take a hike around the canyon park so we stopped first for a quick breakfast. A popular spot to grab a coffee and something to eat. They offer some Brazilian options, bagels and acai bowls! Cute and cozy and family run. The bagels honestly were ok - I make sourdough bagels at home so we are a bit spoilt when it comes to bagels taste. But the Brazilian options were nice. Probably try the acai bowls and the empanadas which we missed trying with their homemade sauce.

A first impression is so important and not just on a blind date. I went on a blind date when I was a confused teenager and still remember how she used a toothpick to clean her teeth. And she wasn't even finished with her Happy Meal. But I digress as I thought this Glen Park business just served coffee and other generic lunch items that any number of coffee spots do all over the city. However, what I wasn't aware of until my third visit was that it's really a Brazilian cafe in disguise. Gee, I didn't think I needed a mural of Carmen Miranda to let me know that, and I was perfectly content with the Low Fat Mocha I've ordered on my previous visits (photo: https://bit.ly/3L7mmv0). The Brazilian part of the menu is hidden under the Featured Items section and more prominently in the wide variety of Brazilian acai bowls they offer. The featured items include dim sum-like items like coxinha (shredded chicken and cheese stuffed in a deep-fried dough) and empadas (chicken and vegetarian pie options). On my latest visit, I actually tried the $3 Pao de Queijo (Cheese Bread) which got me a pair of piping hot balls with gooey cheese inside (photo: https://bit.ly/3rHdowx). I also tried the $8.50 Pebbles Salad, which was a nice plateful of freshness with Mixed greens, cucumber, tomato, bacon, turkey, hard-boiled egg, and avocado slices (photo: https://bit.ly/3OtupnE). It was accompanied by an Italian dressing which it frankly didn't need. It took three visits, but I finally know there's more than coffee served here. FOOD - 4 stars...tasty stuff with a Brazilian accent AMBIANCE - 3.5 stars...honestly looks like a coffee spot to me but at least with tables SERVICE - 4.5 stars...always friendly and forthcoming TOTAL - 4 stars...coming back for more Brazilian treats as well as the coffee RELATED - Exploring the Outer Mission? For my Brazilian people in the Bay, this place is BRAZILIAN OWNED and they make their own malagueta house sauce which is actually perfect with their empadas. They even have vegeterian empadas with palmito (heart of palm) and cheese, as well as tomate seco (sundried tomato) and cheese. Don't miss out on their variety of Açaí bowls named after Fútbol's greats like Marta and Neymar. This is a family run business of lovely people who make you feel right at home! The space is cozy, and really close to bart, or perfect for a snack after a hike through the Glen Park Canyon!

COVID-19 TAKEOUT Some people get their panties wet with the new new, the hot and new, instagrammable walls, opulent chandeliers, aesthetics, and/or hype. *RAISES HAND* So, we may ignore/overlook local businesses without the photogenic plates and drinks, and aesthetic goals. I'm guilty of this. I live nearby and for years, I've passed by Pebbles Cafe but never stepped foot inside because I thought it was your run-of-the-mill, neighborhood cafe. I had no clue they serve Brazilian Salgadinhos until I recently saw them listed on a 3rd party delivery app. After my nearby appointment, I popped into Pebbles Cafe to grab some Brazilian Salgadinhos. They're offering takeout, delivery, and dine-in (several small tables). No outdoor seating. M E N U * Brazilian Salgadinhos (kept in warmer): Coxinha, Kibe, Empada, and Pão de Queijo * Açaí bowls * Bagels * American breakfast and lunch sandwiches * Salads * Smoothies * Coffee & Tea B R A Z I L I A N S A L G A D I N H O S ***Items listed from fav to least fav * Coxinha: Brazilian Chicken Croquette ($4) Best item of the four! The coxinha was still warm by the time I got home and settled in. The fried dough was crunchy and generously filled with a creamy, savory chicken filling. Delicious and satisfying. GET THIS! * Chicken Empada ($4) Baked Brazilian "empanada" with a similar filling to the Coxinha but with the addition of corn and olives. Pair it with a small salad at home, and you have yourself a meal. If you're extra hangry, two empadas should do. Beef empada also available. * Pão de Queijo: Brazilian Cheese Bread (2 pc - $2.50) While they were still warm, I ate one in the car before driving home. Hard and sturdy crust with a mochi-like chewy center. Good salty cheese flavor but denser than my preference. Available by pairs only. * Kibe: Brazilian Beef Croquette ($4) Got the last one in the warmer so I was happy about that until I tasted it. I think it had been sitting in the warmer for awhile, as the bulgur exterior was hard and ground beef filling was dry. I'm sure if I came before noon, it would have been fresher. Make sure to ask for hot sauce for dipping! S E R V I C E The guy who helped me wasn't the friendliest but hey, it was a Monday. I'm kicking myself for sleeping on Pebbles Cafe all these years. It's a nice gem in the neighborhood that's worth the pit stop for Brazilian Salgadinhos!

Ok.. Quick walk in Glen Park to raise the low blood sugar. Stopped in somewhere new because I saw they had some pre-made little pastry type dishes. OMG...ordered the Beef & spices little savory treat (Keeby) .... EXCELLENT! Sandwich..I'd pass on the future....stick with bagel or beef pastry nice place to grab a late breakfast or lunch. Thank you for the great service. In appreciation, Sharine

Pebbles is so amazing! I got a Turkey, avocado, tomato bagel and added plain cream cheese. It's one of the best bagels I've ever had. The cream cheese was cold while the bagel was freshly toasted so the flavors and temperatures of the ingredients contrasted really well. The bagel did feel a little small, but with some coffee or a drink, I think it'd be really filling. I kind of preferred that it's not super gigantic or hard to eat and it's a manageable portion even though I could've eaten a little bit more. Overall, it was really good and the ingredients tasted really fresh. Also, the cashier is so kind and respectful whenever I've talked to them. The service is really fast and speedy and I feel like the price point is comparable to other bagel places, and a lot cheaper than ordering a bagel online through door dash or Grubhub. Definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area.

Which I thought was funny; tri-tip is the same price as bologna??? O...k. #2. What's up with the sizes; small, medium, and large? I haven't been to Roxie's in 15-20 years. They only had one size back then. Yesterday, I got a medium, but the only thing medium was the length of the bread. What was in between the bread(meat, veggies, condiments), could have fit in a small. My sandwich was empty. Lastly #3. Weighing the meat?! WTH! Old Roxie's just made the sandwich. Eyeballed it. I watched the sandwich-makers continuously weighing 2 ounces of meat. That's not much, for $17. This isn't Roxie's. This new owner is living off the old Roxie's reputation. NEVER going back! Not worth the price or wait. And put some numbers up(Prices)!

I had passed by it countless times on my bike ride to work without giving it a second thought -- until a co-worker suggested we stop in for lunch. That single visit changed everything. What I found was not just convenience, but quality. The menu was packed with deli classics, and the vibe was laid-back and welcoming, full of regulars who clearly knew this was the spot. I went with the Hot Pastrami Sandwich, and I still think about that first bite. Made with Boar's Head Top Round Pastrami -- hand-trimmed, rich, and smoky -- it was layered generously and coated with spices that hit all the right notes. The meat had that perfect deli texture, tender yet hearty.. They clearly take pride in what they serve, and it shows in every bite. It wasn't overloaded or sloppy -- just expertly made and full of flavor, the kind of sandwich that makes you slow down and savor it. What makes New College Hill Market even more special is the atmosphere. It's that kind of neighborhood shop where the cashier greets regulars by name, and even if you're new, you feel like you belong. Whether you're grabbing a quick lunch or discovering it for the first time, it's the kind of place that leaves an impression. For me, it's become a top lunch destination in the city -- unassuming, affordable, and blasting in flavors!

But when you want a sandwich that only tastes like its ingredients, Irving Subs is the spot. Their Dutch crunch is famous for being fresh and actually crunchy. Their lettuce is shredded but fresh and crispy. The salt content is just enough to bring out the flavors. And the overall composition of their sandwiches are very well proportioned. This grocery/convenience store has your typical products you would see, like liquor, sodas, snacks, i.e., candy, chips, ice cream, but they even sell things like shampoo, cold/flu meds and lottery tickets! The store may have what you need so you won't have to run to Target, Walgreens or CVS. They don't have music or a tv in the background; it's quiet and peaceful. We noticed this because it was Super Bowl Sunday and they don't have a tv, so we had to go online to check the score. *** OUR PICKS*** RIB EYE STEAK SANDWICH W/SWISS CHEESE ON DUTCH CRUNCH ~ While ordering this, I told myself, this is gonna be GREAT! I couldn't wait to sink my teeth into this sandwich! But when I took a bite, all I could taste was salt?! I'm not sure if the steak was over seasoned or the Swiss cheese made it salty from being cooked, but I've never had that happen when making a sandwich at home. Since there's no place to eat it at the store, we took it home and tried adding more lettuce and avocado to offset the saltiness, but even that didn't help. By the end of the day, I couldn't get my ring off my finger! It was swollen from the amount of salt in the sandwich because that's the only thing I ate. I drank lots of water, but I became bloated. Next time, I'll nix the cheese and order another kind of sandwich and hopefully have a better experience. 3/5 ROAST BEEF & PASTRAMI W/PROVOLONE CHEESE ON DUTCH CRUNCH ~ this was better than the steak sandwich. My guy had this one. It was salty, but it didn't overpower my tastebuds or the sandwich. I only took a bite to try. 4/5 While jalapeño peppers and pepperoncini are sour, spicy and salty, the meat shouldn't be overwhelmingly salty too then the whole sandwich wouldn't be pleasant to eat. There needs to be something bland to balance it. Now in this steak sandwich, I didn't even add jalapeños or pepperoncini. I only had pickles, onions, lettuce, tomatoes. Yet the salt cut through it all and hit me. I believe someone got overzealous with the salt shaker not realizing it was too much. Of course, the customer finds out after taking a bite! Though I think there should be some quality control in making sure it's done right. Maybe taste testing should be a thing. We may come around again and give them another shot. We really enjoyed it the first time and we were hoping for a repeat, but disappointingly, it didn't go as planned.
